Arms of the Military

The military of Clan Scholae Palatinae consists of 7 arms. Among the ground forces, Imperial Scholae Guard are the unit that defend the clan territory, the Expeditionary Force are the clan's primary ground attack, the Marine Corps hold the naval infantry, and the Praetorian Guard are tasked with the defence of the Emperor. The Imperial Navy's larger ships fall under the Imperial Fleet, while the clan's fighter craft make up the Fighter Corps. Finally, Imperial Scholae Intelligence are tasked with special operations. Each arm of the military is led by one of Scholae Palatinae's seven War Councillors. The majority of recruitment for the clan's forces come from a compulsory three years of military service to commence from within 5 years after reaching maturity for the species.

Imperial Scholae Guard

The Imperial Scholae Guard are the main defence force of the clan, tasked with defending and maintaining order in Cocytus System, led by the Surface Marshal with the assistance of high ranking Generals and are the largest unit in the clan's military. Stationed on every world in the Cocytus System and with outposts on most moons, the Imperial Scholae Guard will be called into action if war emerges anywhere in the clan's territory. They are a versatile unit and have at their disposal a range of transport vehicles, heavily armoured tanks, infantry, and surface to air artillery. The Imperial Scholae Guard are also the unit called upon to quell unrest in the system, and are frequently called upon even in times of peace in support of the civilian police force. The Imperial Scholae Guard are primarily recruited through military conscription.

Expeditionary Force

The Expeditionary Force is the main attack force of the Scholae Palatinae Military, led by the Field Marshal with Generals in support. They are the largest unit in the clan after the Imperial Scholae guard, and are mostly garrisoned on the clan's capital, Judecca, and on the clan's warships for rapid deployment. When the clan is called into war outside of its own territory, the Expeditionary Force are the first into battle. They carry a large assortment of heavily armoured vehicles for combat effectiveness in any climate and any terrain, and also employ a large amount of scouts and marksmen to survey the area. The Expeditionary Force are primarily recruited through military conscription.

Marine Corps

The Scholae Palatinae Marine Corps handle ship to ship combat, led by the Commandant and Generals. They are smaller in number than Imperial Scholae Guard and the Expeditionary Force as their area of responsibility is considerably smaller in size. They are the infantry units garrisoned on every warship in the Imperial Fleet, tasked with both defending Scholae Palatinae's own capital ships, as well as boarding and attacking the enemy's from the inside. The marines consist almost entirely of elite infantry wielding blaster rifles. They are elite troops typically hand picked from the best soldiers of the Imperial Scholae Guard and the Expeditionary Force.

Praetorian Guard

The Praetorian guard are tasked with guarding the Emperor, and are led by the Commander of the Guard. Due to the very specific nature of their purpose, they are the smallest arm of the Scholae Palatinae Military, but are also one of the most prestigious, recruiting only the very best soldiers from across all arms of the military. Their home garrison is the Imperial Palace on Judecca, although a large contingent of guardsmen will always follow the Emperor wherever he happens to be. The Praetorian Guard consist primarily of infantry units.

Imperial Fleet

The Imperial Fleet, led by the Fleet Admiral, is the body of all the ships in the Imperial Navy larger than a gunboat. They are tasked with the both the defence of Cocytus System space, and where needed, the attack and conquest of enemy systems. The ships in the Imperial Fleet range in size from the clan's flagship, the NSD Dark Paladin, to frigates and assault craft. The clan's Space Station, the Dynasty II, also falls within the jurisdiction of the Imperial Fleet. Recruits are largely from conscripts brought into the military at cadet level.

Fighter Corps

The Scholae Palatinae Fighter Corps contain the small agile ships in the Imperial Navy. They are led by the Ace Admiral. The Fighter Corps are stationed on the large warships of the Imperial Fleet, and are tasked with defending their host ship from enemy attack by engaging enemy craft and attacking the opposing capital ships. For this purpose, they primarily consist of TIE Hunters, TIE Interceptors, gunboats and bombers. Conscripts recruited into the Fighter Corps must first pass a training regime before being allowed to fly a ship solo. They are also recruited from famous bounty hunters and smugglers with excellent piloting skills.

Imperial Scholae Intelligence

Imperial Scholae Intelligence is the most secretive and mysterious of the arms of the military. In addition to intelligence, they also handle special operations including sabotage and assassination. Led by the Director General known only by the codename M, they operate from the Imperial Capital, Ohmen. this unit employs a large number of non-combat analysts and technicians from the civilian population. Special operatives are experts in the arts of manipulation and subterfuge, and employ as many methods to achieve their goals as there are agents in the unit. The Imperial Scholae Intelligence are the only arm that run solo missions, and as such are the arm that most frequently employ the support of the clan's Dark Jedi. The combat personnel are special operatives hand picked from the Expeditionary Force and Imperial Scholae Guard, and also sometimes recruited from famous bounty hunters and smugglers with excellent combat and subterfuge skills.

Command Structure and Ranking

The Scholae Palatinae military is led by 7 war councillors responsible for the Marine Corps, the Imperial Scholae Guard, the Expeditionary Force, the Praetorian Guard, the Fleet, the Fighter Corps, and Imperial Scholae Intelligence. The war councillors are typically Dark Jedi of Clan Scholae Palatinae. The arms of the military are categorised into the Ground Forces, the Imperial Navy, and the Intelligence.

Ground Forces

The ground forces consist of the Marine Corps (led by the Commandant), the Imperial Scholae Guard which deals with ground defence (led by the Surface Marshal), the Expeditionary Force that deals with out-of-system battles (led by the Field Marshal), and the Praetorian Guard tasked with the protection of the Emperor (led by the Captain of the Guard).

The command structure of the ground forces is linear, with the Generals falling in place directly behind their respective War Councillor. The Generals typically do not venture on to the field of battle, and are the primary tacticians of the army. They are comprised of the most experienced soldiers in the ground forces. Generals are in command of a division of four regiments, which are commanded by a Colonel.

Each regiment is divided into four legions, led by a Major. The Majors are typically the highest rank that venture out into the field of battle on a regular basis. Each legion is a fully functional versatile fighting force, with heavy vehicles, scouts, snipers, infantry and artillery under its command. Majors also have the opportunity to request the support of Special Agents from the ISI. A legion is made up of a number of companies, led by a Captain.

Companies are more focused units excelling in a particular area. While the majority of companies are infantry based, there are also companies for all areas of warfare, including vehicular support. Companies are formed from a number of platoons, led by a Lieutenant, which in turn consisted of squads, led by a Sergeant. An infantry squad typically consisted of 10 troops of the ranks of Private and Corporal (for Marine and Expeditionary) or Guard and Senior Guard (for Praetorian and Scholae Guard). Other squads varied in size according to their task.

Dark Jedi exist outside of the typical command structure. Those of the rank of Elder or above can assume command of an entire legion, and is entitled to the rank of General for military matters. Equite 3 or higher may assume the title of Major, and may commandeer units of company or lower. Any Equite can claim the title of Captain and take command of a Platoon. Dark Jedi Knights can take the title of Lieutenant, and command a squad. Journeymen are not given direct command of soldiers, but may request the use of a squad from the relevant platoon Lieutenant.

Regiment (4 legions) Colonel
Legion (many companies) Major
Company (many platoons) Captain
Platoon (many squads) Lieutenant
Squad (approximately 10 troops) Sergeant
none Corporal / Advanced Guard
none Private / Guard

Imperial Navy

The Imperial Navy contains two arms of the military: the Fighter Corps, led by the Ace Admiral, and the Fleet, led by the Grand Admiral. The Ace Admiral deals with the small starfighters at the command of the clan, while the Grand Admiral is tasked with the command of the larger fleets, and is commands the largest ship in the navy, the NSD Dark Paladin.

Admirals the the Naval equivalent of the General and typically command the largest ships in the Navy, or in the case of the Fighter corps, they command corps consisting of two divisions. Admirals are supported by their second in command, the Vice Admiral.

One down from the Admirals are the Captain, who in the Fleet, command medium-sized ships with the assistance of a Commander or assist with the command of ships led by an Admiral, or in the Fighter Corps, command a division of two or more wings, each led by a Wing Commander. A wing is composed of three squadrons

Lieutenants are the lowest rank which command their own ships in the fleet. Lieutenants are assisted by Ensigns. In the Corps, the equivalent rank is squad leader, which command a squadron. Squadrons are made of a number of flight teams of four fighter pilots led by an Ace Pilot. The lowest ranks in the Navy are the Cadets, who are mostly students training for a role as an Ensign.

Dark Jedi exist outside of the typical command structure. Those of the rank of Elder or above can assume command of a capital ship or division, and is entitled to the rank of Admiral for military matters. Equite 3 or higher may assume the title of Captain, and may commandeer medium sized ships or a division. Any Equite can claim the title of Commander and take command of a wing. Dark Jedi Knights can take the title of Lieutenant or Squad leader, and command a squad. Journeymen are not given direct command of the fleet, but may request the use of a squad from the relevant Wing Commander.

Intelligence

The unique structure of Imperial Scholae Intelligence is reflective of its unique role in the clan military and large number of non-combat personnel. Eschewing the traditional linear rank structure, ranks within ISI are more descriptive of the individual’s role and speciality. The supreme commander of ISI is the Director General, code-named M. The ISI operates in the shadows, and very little of its command structure is known to the general public. The ISI is divided into operatives, who handle the field work, analysts, who maintain a consistent body of up-to-date information, and research & development, technicians who ensure the maintenance and development of physical assets.

Agents make up the bulk of the operatives, and are recruited directly from the ground forces. Typically battle-proven soldiers yet to master the arts of subterfuge, agents are tasked with easier, less sensitive missions, such as theft and observation. Special agents are hand picked from the agents, and are trusted with more complex and dangerous tasks, such as sabotage and counter-terrorism. Finally, the Cipher Agents title is given only to the ten greatest operatives within the ISI. They are known only by their Cipher designation, e.g., Cipher Seven. The Ciphers are used sparingly and only for the most important of tasks, such as assassination of high profile targets. The Ciphers were under the command of only the Director General. Dark Jedi were also occasionally used as operatives at the request of M for missions only a Force user was capable of, although they still only answer to the Emperor.

Analysts made up the greatest number of ISI personnel and were typically recruited from the general public, from a diverse background of ex-business managers to software engineers. Analysts were tasked with obtaining information from the safety of the ISI offices. Their main tasks involved background research, hacking enemy systems, and analysis of information gained by the operatives. A senior analyst was promoted to the title of Watcher, who lead teams of analysts. They maintained a feedback loop with the operatives, in which analysts provided mission-specific intelligence intelligence to the operatives, and the operatives fed back information obtained on the mission. The analysts were managed by an individual code-named A. A is the only analyst with the responsibility of guiding Dark Jedi in the field.

In research and development, technicians are the scientists, engineers and mechanics. They are scientists recruited from civilian universities. They develop the advanced computer systems required by the analysts and the specialist weaponry and gadgets required by the operatives, including bioweapons, bombs, camouflage and exploding pens. Successful inventions are also sometimes employed by the rest of the military. Senior technicians are promoted to the rank of Fixer, who lead teams of technicians. The technicians are lead by an individual named Q, who was typically Scholae Palatinae’s greatest scientist.

Scholae Palatinae, often just referred to as CSP, is one of the seven Clans of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood. Scholae Palatinae began as Clan Scholae Palatinae, before its fragmentation into a House in 33 ABY, then return to a Clan in 38 ABY under the decree of Grandmaster Pravus.

This page provides a brief overview of the clan. For more detailed information into Scholae Palatinae's inner workings, see the relevant pages for the history, Clan Scholae Palatinae History, House Excidium, House Imperium, Battleteam Acclivis Draco, Cocytus System, Clan Scholae Palatinae Military. The diagram below shows the organisation of Scholae Palatinae's Wikipedia network.

History

Pre-Exodus

During the reign of the Galactic Empire, Emperor Palpatine tasked specific Dark Jedi within his intelligence division to serve as guards to the greatest secrets and storehouses the Empire had. They would be known as the Emperor's Guards. After the battle of Endor, the intelligence division lay in partial ruin. When the Emperor's Hammer Strike Fleet formed out of the collapsing Empire, intelligence on the Emperor's Guards were salvaged and from this new information a new unit would be born. This unit was House Scholae Palatinae.

The logo of the Emperor's Hammer

Scholae Palatinae quickly gained many members, attracting those who valued the secrets of the dark side, and even some of the light This influx of membership allowed the House to be formed quickly into a Clan, bringing with it three houses below it; House Dorimad Sol, House Acclivis Draco, and House Caliburnus. From this membership, Clan Scholae Palatinae was able to obtain the Victory-class Star Destroyer Excidium and a Modified Corvette, Victory. With these new ships, Scholae Palatinae was able to move from their increasingly harsh world onto a world that was better off, keeping itself alive.

However, the liveliness would be in vain. The Star Chamber decided to destroy Clan Scholae Palatinae for reasons that have never been fully revealed. While the members of Caliburnus had been decimated, the members of Dorimad Sol and Acclivis Draco were placed into Clan Arcona and had dangerous experiments were performed on them. Soon after though, it was discovered House Caliburnus had not been destroyed and was a thriving society instead. Surprising the Star Chamber, Caliburnus was allowed to regain its former members and given the ability to rebuild Clan Scholae Palatinae again. Thus ended the first Great Jedi War for the Clan, and the beginning of Scholae's hatred for Arcona.

The Exodus

Outside Clan Scholae Palatinae, the dark side was changing. The Star Chamber had rumblings of change, and the Emperor's Hammer Strike Fleet was slowly become corrupted with greed and power from the inside out. Rumors of "unfortunate accidents" and strange power plays consumed the dark corners of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood.

Inside Scholae, similar events occurred. Apprentices and other Journeymen were chastised quicker, and punished frequently. Equites were given either nothing to do out of spite, or many things to do out of malice, But the leadership knew what was going on. Thus would begin the Exodus. The Seven along with most of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood would help evacuate all of its holdings along with most of the loyal members. And when they left their system, they demolished everything behind them, as to make sure the Emperor's Hammer could not find out where they went; the Shroud. And for Scholae Palatinae specifically, the Cocytus System.

Judecca, Scholae Palatinae's homeworld

Post-Exodus

Over the next many years, Clan Scholae Palatinae would enter or be pulled into many conflicts to aid the Dark Jedi Brotherhood. During the War of the Star Chamber, Scholae was influenced by a corrupted Jac Cotelin, but they were able to reclaim their honor. During the Third Brotherhood Civil War, Scholae would unite reluctantly with Clan Arcona and Clan Taldryan to defend against an exact clone of then Grand Master Jac Cotelin.

But it would be during the military preparedness exercise, Second Darkness, that the Clan would finally get its long time revenge on Clan Arcona. During the victory celebrations, the Yuuzhan Vong had entered Brotherhood space. It was during this time that Consul Braecen Kaeth had fired upon the Arconan vessel, Eye of the Abyss, in order to leave it as fodder for the Brotherhood's escape. But the Arconans, instead of going back to their own system, attempted to regroup and tow themselves to the Cocytus System in order to conquer it from a weakened Vong and Clan Scholae Palatinae.

Although fighting did occur, the Vong were overwhelming. Clan Arcona and Clan Scholae Palatinae both had to fight off the Vong in an alliance of sorts in order to save themselves and escape to the Shroud. It would be during the following months that each Clan would attempt to take back their systems from an overconfident Yuuzhan Vong. The Reclamation of Judecca was an official retaking of most of the Cocytus system as well as Judecca, the Scholae base planet.

Under Grand Master Sarin, the Dark Jedi Brotherhood was united and was tasked with taking back Antei. Clan Scholae Palatinae was given both the tasks of clearing out the Shroud as well as landing Dark Jedi ground troops in order to attack specific locations. Scholae knew going through the Shroud would mean definite casualties, but the Grand Master and Clan Arcona thought of it as justice for the disabling of Eye of the Abyss. However, when the Brotherhood arrived at Antei, the Vong were utterly destroyed by a Jedi Master known as Omancor Crask. Him, his students, and many war droids fought off the Vong and claimed Antei as their own. The original plans were still in place, but now the Dark Brotherhood would be fighting off rogue Jedi. Scholae aided in the defeat of the Jedi as well as the reclamation of different special places on Antei.

New Life and Death

Many different conflicts erupted after the events of the Yuuzhan Vong and Crask. The Dark Council tasked the Clans in killing the Killiks on Salas V. The victor, who would end up being independent House Revan, would claim ownership of the planet.

When a rogue Grand Master Zoraan arrived to attempt to retake the Brotherhood, Clan Scholae Palatinae had helped to fight off the former Grand Master, and when the One Sith attempted to destroy the Brotherhood shortly after from the inside, Scholae aided Grand Master Muz Ashen in his crusade against the One Sith, claiming the planet Korriz in the process for themselves. However, Muz Ashen had also attempted the Rite of Immortality, destroying Antei in the process and almost destroying Korriban.

However, in the middle of the Dark Crusade, the Cocytus system went through some troubles. The government of the system saw an opportune time to take over the monarchy and establish a personal dictatorship. With the aid of Imperial Intelligence and Battleteam Caliburnus, Emperor Xen'Mordin Vismorsus was able to assassinate the rogue leader and his followers as well as establish a new order in the system severely loyal to the Consul and Dark Jedi of Scholae Palatinae.

In the destruction of Antei's surface, the surviving members of old enemies came out from the shadows. Old members of the Cause, people who had spied for or worked with the Yuuzhan Vong, or those who believed in the corrupted teachings of Jaac Cotelin, the One Sith, or former Grand Master Zoraan had come together to form a militia that would attack the Cocytus system (the first in a long line of systems they wanted to cause destruction in). However, the Clan united and easily put a stop to the terrorist threat.

Modernity

Clan Scholae Palatinae went through a mass restructuring after all these crises. The current battleteams were absorbed into the Clan structure itself and new Houses were established; Excidium and Imperium. House Imperium gained a battleteam by the name of Shadow Guard, with battleteam Acclivis Draco remaining a separate entity within the Clan.

Clan Hierarchy

House Excidium

House Excidium is known for their warriors and battle hardened Clan members. They excel in combat and define the roles set out before them. When called to battle, members of Excidium go above and beyond, placing themselves in field and combat positions in times of war, and security positions in times of relative harmony. Members within Excidium are not defined solely by combat though. What drives them is passion; passion to succeed and to live beyond the bureaucracies of life.

House Imperium

House Imperium is a house that lays back and views things from afar. They have patience and a care for knowledge and context. Combat is important, but what happens behind the lines is more important than the front of the lines to Imperium. When war breaks out, Imperium will be the first to know and the first to lay out a plan. In relative peace, they perform more operational duties. Members of Imperium can fight boldly when necessary, however they would rather define themselves by their ability to overpower the enemy through forethought and knowledge. What drives them is understanding; knowledge in the world around them and knowledge in the eyes of others.

Battleteam Shadow Guard

Within House Imperium exists the Shadow Guard. To the general public, this group does not exist. The existence of this group is on a need to know basis. They protect the leaders of House Imperium from outside attacks, especially considering House Imperium is focused more on knowledge rather than combat. They strike from where the enemy usually doesn't look; the shadows.

Battleteam Acclivis Draco

Battleteam Acclivis Draco is a group of advisors and influential members who have chosen to retire until needed by the Clan. When called upon, they represent the best of the Clan and outperform every member in their entirety. However, they are used sparingly.

Dominion

At a time before the Exodus, the Grand Master dispatched then Consul, Cuchulain Darkblade, to search the Shroud for systems fit for the Brotherhood Clans. Coming upon the Imperius star, Cuchulain decided that this would be the domain for Clan Scholae Palatinae. He would name the system Cocytus, and it's planets Antenora (home of Acclivis Draco), Judecca (capital of the Clan, and of House Imperium), Ptolomea, Caina, Iblis, and Vassago. This would be the place where Scholae Palatinae calls home even today.

The only other gain made to the dominion of Scholae was during the Dark Crusades. The planet Korriz was conquered and subsequently settled by members of the Clan. For what it will be used for is unknown to all but the Consul at this time.

Government and Politics

Clan Scholae Palatinae is an Imperial Monarchy with traits of shadow governance. The Clan has both a front and a shadow portion. The frontal government is what the people see and what they interact with at all times. The shadow government is what truly exists what most military, economic, and political leaders know about, but for their own safety keep quiet about. The Clan also operates an economic system within and outside the boundaries of the Clan that is viewed as first tier by the people inside. Much of the economics goes toward scientific research and development.

Shadow Government

The Consul functions as the Tyrant of the system and clan. All decisions go through them with their direct approval or disapproval. The Proconsul is the Grand Marshal and Second in Command of the system and is in control of all Clan military forces. The Clan Rollmaster is given the position of System Moff. The System Moff controls all the operations and position-fillings that go on within the system itself. They are Third in Command of the Clan. The Imperial Senate is made up of the rest of the Dark Jedi within the Clan They are mere advisors to the Moff, Marshal, and Tyrant, and have no legitimate authority over any of them.

Government Front

The Consul is the Emperor of the Monarchy. The Proconsul and Rollmaster maintain the same positions as they do in the shadow government, however the Rollmaster has more to do with the "democratic" substances within the systems. A Senate exists, but only as a go-between for the shadow government and the government front. Kings and Queens exist either in the form of nobles or clan members that form the rulers of the Cocytus system. Although it is perceived that they have leeway with the Emperor, they do not. For every planet and moon, there exists a Duke or Duchess that controls the planet The Dukes and Duchesses usually have no idea about the shadow government.

Military

The Scholae Palatinae Military is made up of seven major forces: the Imperial Scholae Guard, the Expeditionary Force, the Praetorian Guard, the Fleet, the Fighter Corps, and Imperial Scholae Intelligence. With the Consul at the head of the military, the Grand Marshal is responsible for carrying out the orders of the military, and is trusted with strategic modifications for the Clan. Each major force of the military also has an individual War Councilor that deals with the day to day operations and readiness of their specific arm of the military.

The War Councilors are the Surface Marshal (E.F.), Field Marshal (Guard), Commandant General (Marines), Fleet Admiral (Fleet), Ace Admiral (S.C.), Commander of the Guard (P.G.), and Director General (ISI). The ranking structure exists in three different lines, the Ground Forces, the Imperial Navy, and the ISI.

The main battle formations of Clan Scholae Palatinae involve three main flotillas, as well as advanced forces for Judecca. The Expeditionary Forces are on the flotillas, while the Guards occupy each and every planet in the system. The Praetorian Guards are based on Dynasty Station II and Judecca close to the Royal Palace. The Starfighter Corps operate throughout the system and from the flotillas. The Marines operate wherever they are required during wartime. Imperial Scholae Intelligence works throughout all systems and fleets wherever their services are required.

Legacy

Leadership

Clan Scholae Palatinae has a long line of leadership represented in both Clan and House format. The following table is a history of that leadership.

MOTHERFUCKING TABLE

Titles and Service Awards

Clan Scholae Palatinae has three different ways to reward members for service to the Clan. The primary reward is being given the Clan Title of Palpatine. Those who gain this name prove themselves worthy to the Clan members who already hold this title. Another way to be rewarded is with the Dark Paladin position. Dark Paladins have proven to the Clan their skills as a warrior, diplomat, and/or leader, achieving excellence in all they attempt. Lastly, the honor of being an influential member within the Clan is given to a rare few. Those who change the course of history of the Clan for the better are given this honor.

Traditions and Artifacts

Clan Scholae Palatinae, through its long history, has gained a few artifacts and traditions that allow the Clan to be different on a social level. Whether they be ancient map scraps, or legendary tales involving Caliburnus, the Clan has a duty to keep these artifacts protected and traditions alive, even when the Clan evolves into new traditions.

HISTORY ARTICLE

Pre-Exodus (Before 19 ABY)

Harbinger of the Emperor

An unknown amount of years before the Battle of Endor, the Emperor Palpatine of the Galactic Empire had requested one of his advisors to create a special group of guards. These guards would guard all of the secret holdings of the Empire and Emperor Palpatine, as well as be Dark Jedi. The advisor would oversee their training, present them to the Emperor, but not before he destroyed all the training facilities and destroyed all knowledge of their existence before the presentation. Upon the presentation of the guards, the Emperor gave his orders and killed the advisor, wiping the final witness of their existence from the records of the Empire. These guards were dubbed Scholae Palatinae.

After the Battle of Endor, the Imperial remnants were scattered across the galaxy. The Emperor's Hammer Strike Fleet formed and attempted to recreate a Dark Jedi Brotherhood in order to have Dark Jedi within their military. Luckily, the Emperor's Hammer had the majority of the Ubiqtorate (Imperial Intelligence) join them. The Ubiqtorate, in a special meeting, had discovered that one of Emperor Palpatine's advisors had kept a lone record of Scholae Palatinae, it's training, and ultimate mission. The Ubiqtorate, under the guide of the Emperor's Hammer Strike Fleet, formed House Scholae Palatinae. This group would operate both as the guards of the leadership, an intelligence operation, and protect and preserve the secrets of the Fleet.

Self Preservation

House Scholae Palatinae grew in popularity amongst new recruits. The life of a spy and one who studied and held many secrets was appealing to many. Dark Jedi flocked from left and right to form what would eventually be known as Clan Scholae Palatinae. As a Clan, three sub houses were formed to fit the rise of new recruits, as well as the Victory-class Star Destroyer Excidium.

House Dorimad Sol was named after an ancient dark warrior who studied military techniques as well as force techniques, combining them to create almost flawless strategies of his time. These strategies were used by the Emperor himself many times in the Galactic Empire to fight off rebel causes and the hunting down of Jedi. Dorimad Sol became a house of rigid military structure and were the actual protectors of the Clan itself.

House Acclivis Draco was named after the Dragon's Guard. The Dragon's Guard was another project that started but never finished that involved imbuing storm troopers with the ability to use the force and training them to take down complex targets. The Emperor died before the project was completed. Acclivis Draco became a house of philosophers and students of the dark side itself, and also dealt in the fields of alchemy, science, and lore.

House Caliburnus was named after an ancient lightsaber. This lightsaber was lost to time, but supposedly could strike almost instant death blows as well as shut off other lightsabers that crossed blades with it. Calburnus became a house of leadership and discovery, creating military leaders and making decisions regarding intelligence and use of information.

Quickly after they were given Ashtar, the planet became unstable. It was then necessary to move to another planet in the system. Scholae Palatinae was given Hela, but to the Clan wonders why they were given such an unstable planet in the first place.

From the Ashes

In a bout of rage and secrecy, an angered Star Chamber attempted to destroy Clan Scholae Palatinae. Some thought because they escaped a planned death on Ashtar, others thought the Clan had grown too powerful and jealous Star Chamber members loyal to other Clan wanted them destroyed.

Dark Brotherhood forces, along with the EH Strike Fleet, bombed the continent that House Caliburnus and most of the continent stayed on. Without a major military and a definite leadership, the members of Acclivis Draco and Dorimad Sol were given to Clan Arcona. The former Scholae Palatinae had their minds blocked and had tests performed on them in the newly made House Oriens Obscurum. However, unbeknownst to the Star Chamber, many Dark Jedi within House Caliburnus had survived. They rebuilt Hela, the Scholae military, and their House from the ground up. When DB scouts in the region noticed things were active on Hela again, the EH and the DB sent a small exploratory fleet of ships to see what was going on. They were met with all the might of the former Clan Scholae Palatinae.

A small skirmish ensued. Angry with the irrational actions of the Star Chamber, and the repeated death threats the Clan received, Caliburnans held the exploratory fleet hostage. When negotiators arrived, House Caliburnus demanded that their members be returned and Clan Arcona suffer destruction from the Star Chamber. The eventual treaty did not include the destruction of Clan Arcona, but it still allowed the former members of Acclivis Draco and Dorimad Sol to have their mind blocks removed and returned to the reclanned Scholae Palatinae.

It was through these actions that Clan Scholae Palatinae established itself as one of the top Clans in the Brotherhood of the time. Starting as a group of Dark Jedi who eventually had dominion over a planet and small military.

The Exodus

During the darker days of the Emperor's Hammer, Clan Scholae Palatinae was in trouble. The EH Strike Fleet became increasingly dictatorial over matters of the Brotherhood. Clan Scholae Palatinae went through a crisis of image and security. People were killed for simply mistakes, and more brutal forces lay in secret to strike out at potential rogue members.

It was at this time that Jac Cotelin contacted Cuchulain Darkblade, a prominent member within Clan Scholae Palatinae, and a loyal friend of former Grand Master Cotelin. Cuchulain was given a mission to go to a mysterious place called The Shroud. In it, he would find planets and systems that would become the future of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood. Upon entering a relatively defended system near the edge of The Shroud, the Cuchulain was given a vision. From this vision he saw the system he was in. He saw aliens with biogenic ships, Jedi dressed in brown robes, and a line of Emperors leading a place known as the Cocytus system. He was shown planets, moons, and other such areas, all with names unknown to the source. Cuchulain claimed this area as the Cocytus system and sent word back to his friend, Jac.

As Cuchulain sat on a cliff on the planet Judecca, the Dark Jedi and fleets of Clan Scholae Palatinae entered the Cocytus system, sneaking out under the cover of darkness and away from the Emperor's Hammer Strike Fleet, forever to remain a part and inside The Shroud. It was then that Cuchulain Darkblade became the first Emperor of the new Cocytus System, and the new Consul of Clan Scholae Palatinae. The Exodus had been completed.

Operation: Strike Back 23 ABY

Third Brotherhood Civil War (25 ABY)

During the Third Brotherhood Civil War, the Brotherhood was torn in two by the emergence of Jaac Cotelin, a clone of Grand Master Jac Cotelin claiming to be the rightful Grand Master of the Brotherhood. Unable to tell them apart, the six clans of the Brotherhood were forced to take sides, with Scholae Palatinae, along with Taldryan and hated enemies Arcona, taking the side of 'Blue Jac' against the perceived impostor 'Red Jac'. The war was ended with a duel between the two Jac Cotelins, and while the true Dark Lord emerged victorious, it was never revealed to the clans which had followed the true Grand Master.

Contention (26 ABY)

Contention was a Scholae Palatinae civil war between Acclivis Draco and Caliburnus (the only two active houses at the time) that occurred shortly after the beginning of the reign of Braecen Kaeth to the Scholae Palatinae throne. Demonstrating the long term dominance of Acclivis Draco, traditionally the stronger house, During a dueling tournament to commemorate the Day of the Fox, Acclivis Draco Quaestor RevengeX defeated a member of Caliburnus. Meanwhile, a botched kidnapping attempt of Acclivis Draco Aedile Rasilvenaira was wrongly attributed to an order from Caliburnus Quaestor Impetus, who opposed the idea of war with her home house. Acclivis Draco retaliated with an attempted assassination of Impetus during a public speech, but the sniper missed his target. Forced into war, Impetus' Caliburnus invaded the Acclivis Draco homeworld of Antenora, resulting in a battle the culminated with a duel between Impetus and RevengeX. Just like the duel, no winner could be determined in the conflict, which ended in stalemate, with Caliburnus the happier side after ending Acclivis Draco's many years of dominance. This was one of the only feuds in Brotherhood history that resulted in an exact tie. Following the feud, Thran Occasus took Impetus' place as Caliburnus Quaestor, while Impetus herself ironically joined RevengeX's personal guard.

Yuuzhan Vong Incursion (27 ABY)

The Eighth Great Jedi War, the Yuuzhan Vong Incursion, marked the invasion of the Yuuzhan Vong into brotherhood space, timed immediately after the Second Darkness exercise to gauge Brotherhood readiness to deal with the alien threat. The war was a colossal defeat for the Brotherhood and all of its clans, with the loss of high profile Dark Jedi a prominent occurrence throughout. Faced with the imminent destruction of the entire Brotherhood, Grand Master Sarin initiated the Braata Option, a full scale evacuation of Antei and the withdrawal of all Brotherhood forces into the Shroud. Despite the threat to the whole brotherhood, the competition between clans persisted, and during the retreat, Braecen ordered an opportunistic attack on an Arconana capital ship, the Eye of the Abyss to cover Scholae's retreat to Cocytus. This attack would later have major repercussions for the clan in the next Great Jedi War.

Reclamation of Judecca (27 ABY)

Following new emperor Phoenix's ascendance to the Scholae Palatinae throne and the restoration of House Dorimad Sol, The Reclamation of Judecca was the first major military operation under the rule of the new Emperor. The battles were vicious, bloody, and waged on every planet on the Cocytus System. Spearheaded by previous Emperor Braecen Kaeth, the Yuuzhan Vong were driven from the system, although the aftermath of the Yuuzhan Vong invasion had left a permanent mark on every world, not least in the loss and injury of many notable Dark Jedi of Scholae Palatinae.

Unification (30 ABY)

The invasion of New Tython, the Tenth Great Jedi War, began with Clan Scholae Palatinae, led by newly enthroned Emperor Thran Occasus, being forced by the Dark Council into an expedition into the Shroud around Antei, believed to still be under the control of the Yuuzhan Vong, in retribution for attacking The Eye of the Abyss, a Clan Arcona capital ship. However, upon arrival, they discovered the Yuuzhan Vong had been destroyed by a rogue Jedi, Omancor Crask.

The dark Jedi of the clan served in many capacities during the reclamation of Antei, the following prominent in their service: Thran, Tra'an Reith, Kalak Ragnose, Koryn Thraagus, Luciferus Scyrone, Korvyn, and Draco Maligo served with the infantry; Arania, Trewbacca, Koskian D’Tana, Voldemort, and Yeldarb Vohuku with the armor; Timbal, after being healed of his wounds in a bacta tank, led a squadron, and Ric Hunter flew a transport; Natth a’Niel Palpatine and Rayne served aboard capital ships; and Robin Hawk served with the medical corps.

After a brutal counter-attack, Thran concocted a plan to finish the war. He dispatched a team of geologists to Mt. Ashfire while the Emperor took Phoenix Palpatine and Koskian D’Tana on a mission to take out the Jedi leaders. Minor skirmishing between the rival clans broke out, with little to report. Orders from the Dark Council were to capture enemy Jedi, and several were taken and turned over to intelligence for interrogation.

As the enemy was driven back, and more of the Dark Brotherhood’s territory was reclaimed, Temple Boyna was the final objective given to the clan. Koryn Thraagus, Luciferus Scyrone, and Draco Maligo were the first of the dark Jedi into the upper reaches of the Temple to kill the last of the Jedi who were directing the droid army. Thran and his strike team infiltrated the droid control ship parked atop Mt. Ashfire, and after defeating a Jedi, blew the ship and deactivated the entire droid army. The war was won, although huge losses were suffered by the Clan.

New Life and Death (35 ABY - 38 ABY)

Invasion of New Tython (35 ABY)

The Tenth Great Jedi War took the form of the Invasion of New Tython. In 35 ABY, the Dark Council decreed that the Jedi house that had become an ally of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood, House Odan-Urr, no longer served a purpose and would be eradicated. To that end, fleets and armies descended upon the planet quickly, as if eager to recreate the Sith War of so many millennia ago. However, even as the forces of the Brotherhood descended against the Jedi, renegade Jedi Master Michael Halcyon called on allies to aid them - a full Mandalorian clan.

The arrival of the Mandalorians turned what would have been a simple scouring of the Jedi into a general war. Despite this, however, the Brotherhood was able to kill or rout those allies of the Jedi that had shown themselves, and decimated the ranks of Odan-Urr, though at a cost of several of the Brotherhood's own prominent members. Despite the cost, the war was a crushing victory, eliminating the immediate threat posed by the Jedi.

Orian Incursion (36 ABY)

The Orian Incursion was an attack on Clan Naga Sadow by House Scholae Palatinae along with their allies in House Plagueis. The two houses sought to bring their combined forces to bear against Naga Sadow's holdings with the goal of showing the Dark Council that the two houses could stand with the Clans of the Brotherhood. While the initial attack against the Sadowan systems were successful, eventually the relationship between Scholae and Plagueis broke down to a point at which the attack descended into a three way war, and Naga Sadow was able to defend itself against the attack.

Horizons (36 ABY)

The Horizons conflicts were the war between the Dark Brotherhood and the forces led by the long believed to be dead rogue Grand Master Zoraan. The conflicts are named after the Horizon Plague, a bioweapon used by the Grand Master to attack the Brotherhood systems. While many Dark Jedi betrayed the brotherhood, turning to Zoraan's cause. House Scholae Palatinae joined the war in defence of the Dark Council, and Zoraan was successfully defeated.

Dark Crusade (36 - 38 ABY)

The Eleventh Great Jedi War, Dark Crusade, followed the extended battles with the One Sith that came to be known as the Dark Crusade and Fading Light. With only Korriban left to conquer, the Dark Brotherhood fractured into hostilities after Lord Marshal Damon Nix uncovered that Muz Ashen planned to recreate the Rite of Obscuration. Jac Cotelin led Taldryan against the Iron Throne, while Arconan forces defended Ashen as he performed the first rite, devastating Antei. Taldyran's forces managed to escape with help from the One Sith-aligned Darth Esoteric, who demanded that Taldryan join him. The Brotherhood erupted into civil war, with Plagueis joining under the promise of Esoteric's New Order and the other units declaring either for the Loyalists under Ashen or the Rebels under Cotelin.

They were mostly supported by civilians disillusioned with the empire. However, the House united and easily put a stop to the terrorist threat in the Looking Home Campaign.

Looking Home Campaign (37 - 38 ABY)

See also Ptolomea Deposition, Cainian Strikes, and Antenora Rebellion.

Tensions had begun to rise in the Cocytus system over the Scholae Palatinae Empire's tyrannical rule. Following a tumultuous war-plagued era for the house, many among the civilians saw an opportunity to overthrow the empire and put the power back into the hands of the people during a small break in the Dark Crusade. The Looking Home Campaign was a series of missions overseen by Emperor Xen'Mordin Vismorsus to cement imperial control over Ptolomea, Caina, and Antenora.

Ptolomea Deposition was the first such mission, as suspicions rose following the civilian leaders' lack of readiness to provide supplies to the fatigued Expeditionary Force following the Dark Crusade. Dictator Lou Khebe, ruling Ptolomea in the Empire's stead, had showed signs of wavering loyalty. Evant Taelyan, Commander of Caliburnus, the traditional guardians of Ptolomea, led many missions into the field. After Rollmaster Koryn Thraagus identified a suitable replacement for Khebe, recently recruited scientist Dr. Elincia Rei conducted an assassination of the dictator through a controlled bioweapons attack. Following Lucyeth's intelligence on the hideout of rebel forces on Ptolomea, two teams of some of the most decorated Dark Jedi in the house, led by the Emperor, eliminated the remainder of the rebellion.

Shortly after Caina was target ted. While the Cainian Strikes were initially just an effort to strike down industrial action harming the house economy, during preparation signs of something much more troubling were found. Koryn launched the first successful attack in the neutralisation of this new rebellion, intercepting shipments that were on their way to rebel forces. Kor Vaal helped to provide crucial intelligence on the rebel commanders, before a small team of Dark Jedi led by Kell Dante and supported by Dr. Elincia Rei eliminated General Millard, a stalwart of the house military who had defected to the rebellion.

The Antenora Rebellion was the final mission on the campaign, an imperative move against the Ogenrate Emperor, a religious leader critical of imperial rule with growing support. Lucyeth was a thorn in the side of the Ogenrate Emperor's attempts to sway the hearts of the general people, countering his efforts by churning out positive propaganda images to confuse the populace. Lucyeth was also responsible for a battleplan to defend against a full on assault from the Ogenrate Emperor's forces, a plan put into action by Dr. Rei. A counter-attack from Scholae Palatinae was a strike at the head of the rebellion by a team of Dark Jedi Knights and Sith Warriors, supported by Dr. Rei. During the chaos of battle, the scientist was able to disappear and assassinate the enemy emperor. Another team, led by Eetherbiail and Evant, set out to eliminate the High Glyph Priests of the Ogenrate religion, but although they were forced back by opposing forces, the rebellion had lost all power to pose a serious threat to the Antenora ever again, allowing Scholae Palatinae to focus on defending against the next logical target, Judecca.

Wrath of Zhan (38 ABY)

Leading a rebellion named the Scions of Cocytus, Fias Zhan attacked Emperor Xen'Mordin directly by crashing a large freighter into the Imperial Palace with a team of berserkers, believing himself to be the heir to Palpatine's legacy. He attacked the Scholae Palatinae forces using a fear toxin to induce terror in even the battle-hardened Dark Jedi of the house. The Emperor became trapped within the lower levels of the palace, forcing Scholae Palatinae to attack the Fias Zhan and cut the head off the rebellion as soon as possible. Even Evant Taelyan, Proconsul and commander of the military, was afflicted by the fear toxin.

Xantros made great progress against the rebels by turning the feeble minds of the berserkers against each other in the streets of Ohmen, allowing them to rip each other apart, while Kell Dante put together a plan to attack the palace, aided by intelligence from Delak Krennel, Zagro Fenn and Ric "Blade" Hunter. Delak was also shortly afterwards part of a Dark Jedi team that defeated a large team of Scion berserkers. After Dr. Elincia Rei discovered a cure for the fear toxin, Dante, Koryn, and Archangel led a final assault on the palace. and Fias Zhan was defeated.

Modernity (38 ABY - Present)

Emergence of New Houses (38 ABY)

Revolution of Order (placeholder title and story)

After the events of Dark Crusade, Looking Home, and Wrath of Zhan, Scholae Palatinae grew to the point where they were given the status of a Clan. A restructuring took place. Emperor Xen made two new glorious houses; House Excidium, namesake of the previous Clan flagship of the same name; and House Imperium, named for the Imperial dynasty the Clan would embrace in the oncoming future. The Emperor also gave House Imperium a combat orientated battle team named Shadow Guard. Battle team Acclivis Draco was kept in place as a den of knowledge and intelligence for the Emperor.

With the new revolution, and the discovery during the Dark Crusade that the Orders were a lie fabricated by the unknown, Emperor Xen instituted a policy that allowed different paths to exist within the Clan itself. Those who followed the Sith path would remain as beacons of darkness in the Clan and as a reminder of the path that Darth Sidious took a long time ago. Those who were Dark Jedi would be allowed to exist in differing power structures of the Empire, enforcing the dark will of the Emperor himself. Those who followed the Grey Path would be allowed in as well. The Grey represents the Imperial dynasty and laws that backed up the Empire's legitimacy in the galaxy. Loyalists would be allowed to operate within the military and have some independence outside of the usual order. Mercenaries were hired as operatives and bounty hunters used by the Grand Marshal and System Moff themselves. Those who followed the so-called light path were either executed or exiled from the system.

Red Fury (39 ABY)

Red Fury was a rare event in that it involved two clans of the Brotherhood working cooperatively against an external threat, as clans Scholae Palatinae and Naga Sadow joined forces to combat the Red Fury Pirates. Believing the Dark Jedi Brotherhood clans to be simple merchants, the pirates foolishly attempted to loot from both clans. The joint cooperative strike against them was fast, short, and bloody, as the combined forces of two Dark Jedi clans obliterated the pirates with little resistance. Loot was divided evenly between the clans. While trust was still a long way off, the clans forged a bond of mutual respect, accepting the usefulness of their ally.

The Forgotten (39 ABY)

Beginning in 39 ABY, a new threat occurred from millennial past. Artifacts of the Infinite Empire, an ancient fallen Empire over 25 thousand years ago, remained in some form on every world, and the Cocytus System was no exception. With a few to understanding more about the System's history, Xen ordered the formation of the Cocytus Historical Society. However, no sooner had work began on exploring the history when a group sought to use it against them.

Entanglement was the first of the Forgotten campaigns. A group known as the Evanescent hoped to bring the downfall of Scholae Palatinae by invoking ancient Rakatan rituals. Xen ordered the elimination of the Evanescent. Scholae Palatinae operations were a success on every world, and according to the data from Imperial Scholae Intelligence, the Evanescent were largely assumed to be defeated. However, unbeknownst to them, phase 1 of the Evanescent plan was already underway and successful, as hideous monstrosities appeared on the planet of Ptolomea, sparking a planetary crisis.
