Kamjin "Maverick" Lap'lamiz is the current Justicar of the Brotherhood having assumed the role in 41 ABY when Darth Renatus was elevated to Deputy Grand Master. He was later reaffirmed to the role in 43 ABY and continues to serve into Darth Renatus's reign as Grand Master.
During his tenure as Justicar he championed the sunsetting of the Letters of Reprimand as a means of Judicial punishment. He was also the first Justicar enact a Judicial punishment related to Experience Points (XP) in Chamber of Justice (CoJ) Case 071 setting a precedent that was refined in CoJ Case 072. To ensure transparency of the Chamber's activities these were codified within the Covenant with an XP Amendment in 43 ABY.
Prior to serving as Justicar, Kamjin "Maverick" Lap'lamiz was the Emperor of Clan Scholae Palatinae and was responsible for ending the Civil War within the Caperion System gaining him the title 'Conqueror' when he consolidated power from the remaining governments on Seraph. Following the invasion by the Children of Mortis and the destruction of Caelestis City he moved Scholae Palatinae's seat of power from Ragnath to Seraph and commissioned the creation of The Monolith to serve as the Clan's new base of operations.
Childhood
Tenzin & Sayuri Lap'lamiz
Tenzin Lap'lamiz before Order 66
Sayuri of House Juranno Kamjin was born in 16 BBY and raised by his parents Tenjin and Sayuri Lap'lamiz in their royal estate at Juranno, Alderaan. Tenzin had been a young Jedi Knight before Order 66. While he served as a General during the Clone Wars he had disagreed with the Jedi Council on how the war should be waged, feeling that if the Jedi were truly committed to being warriors that they should return to the doctrines seen during the Great Sith War fought against Exar Kun.
Concerned for his well being the Jedi Council had furloughed him from his assignment and sent him to mediate. As a result, he was not around his Clone Troopers when Order 66 was issued. He was one of the few Jedi to receive a distress call indicating that Bail Organa was providing sanctuary and assistance fleeing from the Empire. While laid over on Alderaan Tenzin happened to meet Sayuri of House Juranno.
Sayuri was captivated by Tenzin and the two quickly fell in love. Utilizing her families assets she was able to create a new identity for Tenzin and soon wed him. Tenzin's natural political leanings matched well with House Juranno's pro-Empire position. Two years later, in 2 BBY Kamjin Lap'lamiz was born and named heir to his mother's title as Duchess of Juranno. Two years later, in 4 BBY, Kamjin's sister Milia was born.
Childhood
Kamjin was raised in the valley between the Juran Mountains in the royal household of the Duchess of Juranno. He was a bright eyed boy who was consistently at the top of his classes. However, when he was four there was an incident where Kamjin blacked out and strangled one of his classmates. Tenzin, already aware that the Force was strong in his children, took Kamjin into the mountains to begin training him.
Kamjin also received the traditional combat training that the children of Juranno received. While the planet was considered pacifist by the galaxy, there were still guards trained to support the nobility and those guards were drawn from the citizens of Juranno. This contributed to the animosity between the citizens in Juranno and the rest of the planet. The planet considering them backwards while those from Juranno knew the hypocrisy in their beliefs.
Tenzin Lap'lamiz (0 ABY)
Sayuri Lap'lamiz of Hosue Juranno (0 ABY)
Tenzin trained Kamjin to harness the Force and in the ways of the lightsaber. Tenzin knew that while it was dangerous to keep a lightsaber in the era of the Empire he would rather have been armed than unarmed. Kamjin showed an early aptitude towards the old Force Battle Meditation skill which Tenzin sought to strengthen by having Kamjin study historical Jedi conflicts. Tenzin was disappointed to find that Kamjin was more so inclined to the poorly named Jedi Mind Trick.
When not camping with his Father and learning the Jedi arts, Kamjin was trained in leadership by his mother. She sought to prepare him for his regal obligations to assume the title of Duke of Juranno when he came of age. While Tenzin always sought to find a balance, Sayuri shared her opinions freely and counseled Kamjin that he should be more definitive in his decision making. This would lead Kamjin to over-analysis situations in his adulthood. Sayuri felt that Alderaan was unnecessarily putting itself in jeopardy with the Empire and the foolish pacifism beliefs would illicit a strong Imperial response.
She ensured Kamjin was given the best in Imperial training and that whenever Senator Organa was hosting Imperial delegations and the rest of the Alderaanian nobility were present she would ensure that her position was made clear and to showcase Kamjin as an example of what Alderaan could be.
Imperial Academy
Kamjin at the Imperial AcademyKamjin entered the Imperial Academy at the age of 14 in 2 BBY. He was placed in the flight program to join the Imperial Navy. His instructors took notice of his skills in a cockpit and placed him in the advanced TIE Fighter training program. While Kamjin operated well within the structure of the Imperial Academy given his upbringing the natural arrogance of nobility and the sarcastic cockiness gained from his Father's Jedi training sessions caused him to run afoul of his fellow cadets.
A group of cadets, led by an upstart outer rim cadet, cornered Kamjin in the locker room after a training flight. The exact details of the altercation weren't published as the holovids malfunctioned. What is known is that several of the pilots spent a week in the infirmary and the outer rim cadet's mind was never the same again. This situation alerted the Inquisitorius to Kamjin's true nature. Due to his mother's political maneuvering during his childhood it was determined that Kamjin could not be taken away to be fully trained as an Inquisitor. Instead, Kamjin was given special instruction weekly to help develop his Force skills along a more consistent Imperial doctrine developed by Emperor Palpatine.
Destruction of Alderaan
During Kamjin's junior year at the Imperial Academy Alderaan was destroyed by Rebel terrorists. Reports were vague from the system given shortly after its destruction the same band of Rebels destroyed the Empire's prototype energy station which was part of the Emperor's Energy Initiative. According to reports, Kamjin's whole family was on Alderaan at the time of its destruction.
Now orphaned, Kamjin dedicated himself to his studies progressing to be near the top of his class in the academy. He graduated in 2 ABY with flight certifications in all the primary TIE series of fighters and the Assault Gunboats. As a secondary certification, Kamjin also scored well with the various fighters flown by the, self-proclaimed, Rebel Alliance. His specialized training had earned him high marks with intelligence gathering and infiltration.
However, given the recent loses aboard the energy prototype, Kamjin was assigned to the Gozanti-class cruiser Iron Warden patrolling in the mid-rim.
Imperial Navy
Moff Torin Nataz Kamjin flew in numerous engagements of no renown over the next couple of years. Pirates, smugglers, criminal cartels, all made for lackluster combatants and Kamjin felt stifled. While the Imperial Senate had been dissolved, Kamjin kept in touch with the network of contacts. Torin Nataz, who had been a naval officer in the Grand Army of the Republic, became a regular correspondent of Kamjin's. Torin, now a Moff in the Mid-Rim, recognized both the talents of the young pilot and the ambition to do what was necessary to succeed in the Imperial Navy.
Torin contacted Admiral Stephan Ronin, the adopted son of Lord Krenn Alvaak, a Corellian noble, and shared Kamjin's Imperial record. Admiral Ronin had been tasked by the Emperor to create a specialized unit to be known as the Emperor's Hammer Strike Fleet and tasked with taking control of the Minos Cluster. Admiral Ronin was impressed with Kamjin's flight record, and feeling a nudge through the Force, ordered Kamjin reassigned to Delta Squadron aboard the ISD Avenger in 3.5 ABY.
Kamjin was flying a reconnaissance flight with Delta Squadron in the Aurora System in 4 ABY when the Emperor was assassinated by Rebel terrorists. Admiral Ronin addressed the Emperor's Hammer Strike Fleet that they were ordered by the Emperor to lay claim to the Minos Cluster and that order took priority over all other orders that may arise from the remaining Imperial Forces.
Emperor's Hammer
Delta Squadron
Kamjin continued to serve in Delta Squadron, eventually being promoted to Flight Leader and later Squadron Commander. Kamjin had begun to flourish within the Emperor's Hammer Strike Fleet with a series of competent leaders fairly judging his merit and no longer burdened by the Imperial Command and the stigma of being Alderaanian.
After his first tour of duty concluded he was approached to take over command of the newly created Green Squadron within the Infiltrator Wing of the Emperor's Hammer Strike Fleet.
Green Squadron
Kamjin as Green Commander Green Squadron was stationed aboard the MC80b Star Cruiser Fear which regularly conducted raids into Rebel territory, despite its newly minted name of the New Republic. Kamjin was recognized several times earning the Imperial Security Medal (ISM), Palpatine Crescent (PC), and Bronze Star (BS).
Kamjin delighted in the thrill of both flying the repurposed Rebel Alliance starfighters such as the A-wing starfighter and the X-wing starfighter and infiltration operations. Even going so far as to personalized his own astromech droid that he named "Goblin" for its snarky attitude.
His childhood aptitude towards Mind Tricks served him well in the field. It was during this time that he came to the attention of the commander of Praetorian Squadron which was an elite squadron flying for the special operations for the Intelligence Division of the Emperor's Hammer. Known only by his call-sign, Wrath, the commander recruited Kamjin to join Praetorian Squadron.
Praetorian Squadron
Kamjin as Praetorian Seven Kamjin spent the next couple years serving in Praetorian Squadron under the command of Squadron Commander Wrath and Commodore Rear Admiral Brad. It was during the time with Praetorian Squadron that Kamjin took on the call sign "Maverick" as he was considered a maverick to the way Alderaanians thought.
Kamjin developed a fond friendship with his wingman Commander Gibbs who flew Praetorian 6. The two of them would often hit up the town on shore leave. Together they challenged each other to be better pilots, each competing with the other to obtain the highest score rating on their review. Including running the dangerous live fire mine exercise.
When not on operations, Kamjin went through rigorous training in leadership and fleet operations. One of the pillars of Praetorian Squadron was to train pilots to become command officers. As the Emperor's Hammer continued to expand its influence and control of the Minos Cluster the rapid construction of Imperial Star Destroyers required command crews.
Unknown to Kamjin at the time was that Wrath, originally a Acolyte within the Dark Brotherhood, had grown in power to become a Sith Warrior. With that power came ambition. Wrath and another member of the Intelligence Divisions Ubiqtorate named Weicksel had recovered data from the Emperor's private data cores regarding the locations of Mount Tantiss and Byss and that the Emperor had ordered the creation of a group of Force sensitive Royal Guards to be known as the Scholae Palatinae. Following the death of the Emperor the original Scholae Palatinae had been killed protecting the Emperor and answering the calls of lesser Imperials.
Wrath and Weicksel decided it was time to reforge the Scholae Palatinae with Force sensitive members of the Intelligence Division and resume the responsibilities of safeguarding the final secrets of the Emperor.

The Founding of House Scholae Palatinae
Wrath Introducing Kamjin to Scholae Palatinae
Kamjin began his training with Wrath on Eos as an Apprentice in the Shadow Academy. Having already been trained by his father he quickly advanced to the rank of Acolyte. Where Kamjin struggled was with embracing the Dark Side. His father had taught him that there was a balance to be had between the Light and the Dark Sides of the Force. Neither should be ignored in favor of the other.
Kamjin and Wrath Combat Training
Wrath did his best to push Kamjin. The training became more rigorous. The two spent days out in the field with no rations. Wrath would attack Kamjin at all hours, without warning, to wear Kamjin down. Wrath pulled on Kamjin's hatred of the terrorists that destroyed his home planet of Alderaan. The injustice of being a noble to no one. The rejection his extended family had amongst the survivors. The years wasted in the Imperial Navy.
In the end, Kamjin did not fully give himself to the Dark Side though he did touch it.
Wrath decided that ambition may be the better path for Kamjin's training and assigned him to take charge of Scholae Palatinae's Guardian Squadron.
Guardian Squadron
Wrath was correct that ambition would be the path to tempt Kamjin. Kamjin excelled as a Squadron Commander and Guardian squadron quickly became a force to be reckoned with. While the Brotherhood focused on maintaining its secrecy it held tournaments to test the skills of its warriors. This led to Kamjin and his squadron being recognized with an Emerald Dagger.
This brought Kamjin to the attention of the Dark Council where Kamjin met and developed a friendship with Grand Master Jac Cotelin. Kamjin began training directly under the Grand Master and dove deeper into the lore of the Brotherhood and the Dark Side. He gained access to Sith Holocrons and the thinking of the Dark Council. More importantly, Kamjin had acquired his Father's lightsaber which had been kept secret on an off-world storage house for the Juranno royal family. Jac granted him a special dispensation to utilize this lightsaber before obtaining the rank of Dark Jedi Knight; a sign of the trust that was established between the two of them.
For the first time Kamjin was able to recognize the political maneuvers that his mother had used. The ability to change the direction of a stream by being the pebble versus being the boulder. Meanwhile, other people were exerting their own influence on the Brotherhood. Wrath and the other members of the Intelligence Division had been busy locating more converts to Scholae Palatinae.
The same was happening across the whole of the Brotherhood and the other Houses were to be restructured into Clans. New opportunities now awaited Kamjin.
The Great Clanning of the Brotherhood
QUA Gibbs and AED KamjinWhile Kamjin was ingratiating himself with the Dark Council and Grand Masters, being Knighted as a Dark Jedi Knight and eventually growing to be a Sith Warrior, Wrath had been active growing the power of Scholae Palatinae. Utilizing the assets available to the Intelligence Division, Scholae Palatinae had grown its number of Force Sensitive converts.
Scholae Palatinae claimed the honor of becoming a Clan and created three sub-units focusing on the pillars of the Dark Side explored by the Brotherhood, House Caliburnus which focused on the Sith Order, House Acclivis Draco which focused on the Krath Order, and House Dorimad Sol which focused on the Obelisk Order.
Kamjin returned to Wrath and offered his services as one of the new Quaestor to lead one of the newly formed Houses. However, Wrath has grown suspicious of Kamjin's ambitions and assigned him to be the first Aedile of House Acclivis Draco serving under his former wing mate, Gibbs.
House Acclivis Draco
Gibbs and Kamjin reform the Imperial GuardKamjin agreed to take on the role of Aedile, becoming the first of the lineage of future Aediles for Acclivis Draco. However, he never recovered from the snub of being named second and it slowly drove a wedge between him and Gibbs.
Together, they were tasked with reforming the Imperial Royal Guard. Pouring over the tombs of knowledge stored by the Emperor in Mount Tantiss and Byss the two expanded upon the Scholae Palatinae training Wrath soon the House of the Rising Dragon had forged itself into a group of Guardsmen that rivaled the height of the Imperial Royal Guard.
They adopted the armor and cloak of the Royal Guard with the addition of a black trim on their robes in memory of their brethren who died defending the Emperor and the crest of House Acclivis Draco embossed in the center of the back of the robes. Years later this style would be taken up by the Scholae Palatinae Guardsmen and their black armor and the Imperial cog of Scholae Palatinae embossed on their cloaks.
Before the creation of the Grand Master's Royal Guard the Guardsmen trained by House Acclivis Draco would guard members of the Emperor's Hammer Command Staff and Dark Council. Their ferociousness in battle and the emblem on their cloaks soon earned them the nickname Dragon Guard.
Clan Summit
Eventually, Kamjin surpassed Gibbs to become the Quaestor of House Acclivis Draco. In short order he would rise again to become Proconsul and then Consul of Clan Scholae Palatinae. The Clan had more than doubled in size since its founding and Kamjin leveraged its strength to strengthen his own position within the Brotherhood. He rose to become a Battlemaster and then Battlelord as his prowess in both combat and leadership left a wake of defeated foes behind him.
The Dark Council
Magistrate and Preator Positions
Kamjin joins the Dark CouncilKamjin began working for the Council as a Magistrate to the Headmaster. His responsibilities were focused on training the new Obelisk warriors and ensuring they had not only proved themselves as capable warriors but had also dedicated themselves to the Dark Side. An ironic position for Kamjin to find himself in given his only conflicting loyalties to the Dark Side of the Force. He proved himself capable in this role and was able to parley it into a role on the Master At Arms staff as their Praetor.
As the Praetor to the Master At Arms, Kamjin began to take note of the other powerful figures within the Brotherhood. While he had cultivated a following within Scholae Palatinae, having hand picked his successors for House Acclivis Draco and his Proconsul, he found he did not have as many allies amongst the other Clans. He sought to mitigate this by befriending members of Clan Satal Keto, such as Alastery, and a tenuous friendship with Stephan von Reinthaler, who was the Commander of the Brotherhood's elite Tau Squadron.
The relationship was tenuous given Kamjin flew for Praetorian Squadron still which was in open competition with Tau and the other elite squadrons of the Emperor's Hammer.
Master-At-Arms
Acolyte Rae PoynOver time, Kamjin was able to position himself to replace the retiring Master-At-Arms and join the Dark Council outright. Kamjin was now third in command of the whole Brotherhood and firmly set his sights upon becoming the next Grand Master. Kamjin, however, failed to account for two things that would happen.
First, he became distracted romantically with a young Acolyte, Rae Poyn, who had joined Scholae Palatinae. Outside of a boyhood crush on a girl on Alderaan, Kamjin had never had time for romance. Now, being able to manage his staff and his time independently he began to spend more time pursuing Rae that on Eos fulfilling his duties to the Dark Council.
Second, and far more dangerous, Kamjin underestimated the rise of Archibald Zoraan to Grand Master. Kamjin had invested heavily in knowing Grand Masters Jac Cotelin, Justinian Khyron, and Thedek. Zoraan's appointment, coming from Clan Tarentum which had grown in power and influence due to several loud, though powerful, individuals. Zoraan was scholarly, having focused on the Shadow Academy and broaden its knowledge which he dove deeply into. Zoraan came to believe himself as the Dark Side incarnate and would often be caught muttering to himself.
Zoraan made several changes to the Dark Council membership and, while Kamjin was distracted, Kamjin found himself with few allies on the Dark Council. When Kamjin refused to placate Zoraan's rantings and ravings Zoraan stripped Kamjin of his position and from the rank of Dark Side Adept. Reduced to Sith Warlord, expelled from the Dark Council, Kamjin found that Rae left him. What Sith would stay with someone in such a state of disgrace when their own ambitions could be hindered by association.
Exile
Kamjin in exile aboard the TIE Praetor HyperHawk Kamjin went into exile. Leaving behind the Brotherhood and the Emperor's Hammer he took his TIE Praetor and heading off into the unknown. For a while he wandered through his past failures. The wreckage of the Fear and the asteroid field that remained of Alderaan.
Outside of these two sensor pings for his location, Kamjin effectively disappeared for several months.
Revenge Against Archibald Zoraan
After several months, Kamjin was contacted by Archpriest Karva Dronaal, whom Kamjin had originally pointed as his Aedile over House Acclivis Draco. Karva, now Consul of Scholae Palatinae, was seeking Kamjin to end his exile and rejoin the Clan as its Proconsul. During their conversation, Kamjin learned from Karva that Zoraan had attempted to separate the Brotherhood from the Emperor's Hammer and had fled justice with a small group of devoted Acolytes believing Zoraan was the embodied of the One Sith.
Kamjin accepted Karva's offer on the condition that he first deal with Zoraan. Karva agreed to these terms.
Kamjin, for the first time, began to tap freely into the Dark Side of the Force. While Zoraan may have stripped him of his titles, he could not strip Kamjin of his power. Meditating through the Force Kamjin was soon able to locate Zoraan. Kamjin immediately traveled to the unnamed jungle planet that Zoraan had hidden himself on. Zoraan clearly anticipated a fight as he had deployed a sizable minefield around the planet. Kamjin, drawing slowly from the Dark Side of the Force augmented his considerable piloting skills and blazed a path to the surface.
Kamjin's final confrontation with Archibald Zoraan
Landing on the surface, Kamjin was confronted by the group of Dark Jedi Acolytes. The clash was brief but brutal with Kamjin emerging the victor. During this fight, Kamjin utilized Force Lightning for the first time. Venturing inside the temple, Kamjin was confronted by a series of traps laid by Zoraan that would activate based upon the Dark Side of the Force.
The first, a collapsing floor pit, caught Kamjin unaware. He had not noticed how easily he had begun to rely upon the Dark Side of the Force. Cursing his arrogance, Kamjin calmed his mind fighting for balance. Zoraan began to telepathically mock Kamjin and activated the remaining traps himself. Kamjin would not be deterred. Emerging at the top of the temple, Kamjin was bloody, his clothes in tatters and his mind exhausted from holding back his rage.
Kamjin creates his lightsaber's blood crystalAs he confronted Zoraan in his chamber the former Grand Master ignited the Golden Lightsaber he had obtained. Kamjin saw this as the final affront and unleashed his rage and the Dark Side of the Force for the first time with purpose. Both combatants hurled environmental hazards at each other, Force Lightning clashed between them, as they tore the temple to pieces. Zoraan, panicking at the fury Kamjin had unleashed, sought to escape into the jungle.
Kamjin confronted him, his father's emerald lightsaber blade stood in contrast to Zoraan's golden blade. In the confided rubble of the temple the two blades clashed. Eventually, Kamjin overwhelmed his opponent and pierced Zoraan through the chest. As Zoraan's disembodied spirit fought to remain with its mortal shell Kamjin gave himself fully to the Dark Side of the Force. Drawing upon ancient Sith teachings he had acquired from Palpatine's hidden vaults, Kamjin created a blood crystal from Zoraan's remains.
As Kamjin collapsed from the effort, his eyes displaying the hallmark yellow-red hue of the Sith, he felt redeemed at last. Taking his newly formed crystal Kamjin crafted his own lightsaber for the first time. Later in his life he'd create a matching pair, with a sapphire blue crystal, that could be attached to the original to form a saber staff.
Return to Clan Scholae Palatinae
Kamjin returned to Scholae Palatinae and was welcomed as a hero having defeated the crazed Grand Master Archibald Zoraan and ending what was known as the period of stagnation. This was still a perilous time for the Brotherhood. Grand Master Chi-Long was left to clean-up the ravages of Zoraan's betrayal. The Dark Council and the infrastructure that supported the Brotherhood had been stripped away by Zoraan's acolytes.
Kamjin avoided the power struggles by focusing on Scholae Palatinae. Serving faithfully as Proconsul, Kamjin separated himself from his previous ambitions and focused on taming his new-found Dark Side of the Force powers. Studying Palpatine's teachings he eventually found the means to maintain a calm public persona while drinking deeply of the Dark Side. Coupled with the Lap'lamiz genetic predisposition towards appearing youthful well into old age Kamjin never succumbed to the ravages the Dark Side tended to play on a humanoids body.
Eventually, Karva Dronaal stepped away from the Consulship and Kamjin reassumed his duties as Consul of Scholae Palatinae.
Assembly of Consuls
With the dismissal of Grand Master Chi-Long, Grand Master Firefox assumed leadership of the Brotherhood. FireFox made several changes within the Brotherhood, such as the creation of the Emissary of the Assembly of Consuls. Kamjin eventually represented Scholae Palatinae and later led the Assembly as Emissary. As such, Firefox reversed the humiliation forced upon Kamjin by Zoraan and restored him to the rank of Dark Side Adept.
During Kamjin's time on the Assembly of Consuls several proposals were enacted that would eventually make their way into the Covenant, such as rules governing the transferring of members between Clans during Vendettas. Additional proposals would become institutionalized such as a formal Master/Apprentice program and the proto-version of the current Electorate process.
The Exodus
Inquisitor Kamjin "Maverick" Lap'lamizIn the year 13 ABY Kamjin had accepted an appointment to the High Court of Inquisitors of the Emperor's Hammer Strike Fleet in addition to his role within the Brotherhood. As an Inquisitor, and Fleet Admiral, Kamjin was routinely in contact with leaders from the Emperor's Hammer Strike Fleet and Dark Brotherhood regarding legal matters. During this time, unrest began to spread between the leadership of both the Emperor's Hammer and Dark Brotherhood related to the engagement of the Executive Officer, Astatine. Following the traitorous actions of Zoraan distrust has begun to grow between the Command Staff and the Dark Council with the former on guard to prevent another schism.
As the Executive Officer within the Emperor's Hammer, Astatine was responsible for overseeing all of the various divisions that comprised the Strike Fleet. Typically, this role was one of advisor and consular providing insights into the broader fleet activities and giving guidance on critical matters of state. However, Astatine was also serving as the Deputy Grand Master of the Brotherhood and had become embittered that he had been passed over for the Iron Throne. His resentment that this perceived slight led him to begin issuing rulings over the Dark Brotherhood; exceeding his mandate as Deputy Grand Master and breaking with tradition to attempt to indirectly seize control of the Iron Throne.
Kamjin began to hear rumblings of unrest. Reaching out to his old friend, Trevarus Caerick, he began to hear that a group of leaders and former leaders were beginning to discuss sedition. Kamjin was at first dismissive of the extremist language as Trevarus was prone to pontification. Over time, Astatine's overreach became more intrusive. Instead of giving advice he began to overrule and insert his opinion into rulings by the Grand Master. Eventually, he began to actively appoint new members to Dark Council positions.
Kamjin's letter to Ronin and Astatine
Kamjin consulted with Chi-Long, former Grand Master, and Firefox whom Kamjin had remained friendly with following his time as Sith High Warrior and Kamjin's engagement on the Assembly of Consuls. Both shared their concerns and there objective of ensuring a clear alignment of leadership within the Dark Brotherhood. The Brotherhood had historically served alongside the Emperor's Hammer with self-rule and they sought to return to this arrangement.
While these conversations were occurring the Seven were progressing their plans and provided their formal declaration to Grand Admiral Ronin and Astatine. The Strike Fleet erupted in an uproar as lines were drawn. The Dark Brotherhood was interwoven into every aspect of the Strike Fleet, Kamjin's own leader, the High Inquisitor, was Jedgar Octavius Paladin who was sympathetic to the Seven. As individuals began to declare their allegiances Kamjin sought to broker a deal.
Leveraging his long-time friendship with Ronin he submitted an impassioned request on behalf of Chi-Long. Kamjin sought to begin negotiations to bring about a suitable solution. Whereby, additional authority was granted to the Brotherhood and less oversight by the Executive Officer with a more direct line of communication with the Grand Admiral. As Kamjin met with Ronin one-on-one it became clear that a decision had already been reached.
Ronin would not negotiate. With the door closed the Exodus began in earnest. Kamjin, electing to remain loyal to the Emperor's Hammer Strike Fleet watched bitterly as friends departed into the unknown. For those that remained this became a dark time as Astatine felt this actions justified and further sought to impose his will on Fleet Admiral Rapier, who assumed leadership of the fractured Dark Jedi staying behind with the Emperor's Hammer.
Emperor's Hammer Post Exodus
Following the Exodus, Kamjin remained on the High Court of Inquisitors while Astatine began to seize power for himself. Astatine claimed the title of Grand Master and took charge of the Brotherhood while retaining his position as Executive Officer. This led to Kamjin distancing himself from the remains of the Brotherhood that stayed on Eos.
High Court of Inquisitors
Kamjin eventually settled into his routine as an Inquisitor. The docket on the court kept him busy and the need to be impartial kept him safely away from the political maneuvering of Astatine. Kamjin maintained his friendship with Grand Admiral Ronin, continually counseling him of the threat Astatine posed to the fleet. Kamjin intensified these concerns after a trial of Astatine were the sentence from the High Court of Inquisitors was set aside by the Grand Admiral.
It was only because of their years of friendship that Ronin would entertain these accusations against Astatine from Kamjin. Many others who raised the same concerns found themselves out of favor with the Grand Admiral or banished completely.
Of particular interest during this time was the trial a young Sub-Lieutenant by the name of Dacien Victae. His trial was a minor infraction but Kamjin took note of the young pilot and decided to watch his career with interest.
Kamjin served on the High Court for several years while Astatine consolidated his power. Eventually the day came when Ronin retired to Aurora Prime taking the title of Princeps. Ronin, despite all the warnings given to him by Kamjin and others, promoted Astatine to Grand Admiral and placed the fleet under his command. Astatine moved swiftly to remove those that challenged him from power.
In a judicial overstep, Astatine disbanded the High Court of Inquisitors.
Commodore of the ISD Challenge
ISD Challenge
Commodore Kamjin "Maverick" Lap'lamizCalling upon his years of contacts and influence, Kamjin was able to obtain the command of the Imperial II-class Star Destroyer Challenge within the Emperor's Hammer Strike Fleet. For a time, Kamjin found peace in his duties. He was admired by his crew and came to appreciate the local 'grug' the crew brewed called Chalquila.
The patrols were long and kept him away from Aurora Prime and the political in-fighting that had arisen amongst the Command Staff. These were dark times for Kamjin as he watched numerous friends flee Astatine's increasingly unhinged persecutions of members of the Dark Brotherhood. It was during this time that a friend of Kamjin's, Aristan Dantes (Sarin) was promoted to Sector Admiral and Executive Officer (XO) of the Emperor's Hammer. Sarin had a keen military mind and Kamjin enjoyed their discussions.
Lt. Kya Beesin - New Republic IntelligenceAt the time, the ISD Challenge was reported to be on routine patrols but their true mission was infiltrating and harassing New Republic interests to minimize their expansion towards the Minos Cluster. These hit and run tactics caught the attention of New Republic Intelligence which assigned Kya Beesin to investigate.
Kamjin and Kya at the Imperial BallKya, the youngest daughter of a CorSec officer was perfectly suited for the task. Her expert skills in slicing allowed her to identify Kamjin as the commander of the ISD Challenge and that he would be attending an Imperial Ball where she could insert herself to establish contact.
Kamjin, who had dreaded attending the ball, was taken by Kya who appeared in a stunning red dress. While her beauty drew his eye her quick wit and sharp tongue held his interest. Unlike other girls who were flattered by his Alderaanian royalty, rank, power, or charm, Kya seemed resist to all his attempts to impress her. The two danced the night away. Kamjin was in love.
Kya, though she knew her duty, was taken in my Kamjin's charms though she thought him cocky. The two began a relationship that, while first started out of Kya's duties to the New Republic, slowly grew to be true love. However, each carried their own sense of denials. Kamjin willfully overlooked Kya's New Republic Intelligence background, carefully guarding any critical information from her and believing she'd eventually come around to see that the Empire was the true government for the galaxy. The success the Emperor's Hammer had in the Minos Cluster and the relative peace within their boarders compared to the constant threats facing the New Republic being the basis for his argument.
While Kya believed in only the good inside Kamjin and refused to believe the he was truly corrupted by the Dark Side of the Force. Her own, untrained and undeveloped, latent skills with the Force kept her from being corrupted by Kamjin's influence and holding onto hope of redemption.
Astatine's Rebellion
While Kamjin and Kya's relationship blossomed the Emperor's Hammer began to stagnate. Talented and experienced officers continued to be forced out of the fleet due to Astatine's madness. Ronin, once the only balance to Astatine had started his own family on Aurora Prime and was absent from the day-to-day management of the fleet.
One day, Sarin came to Kamjin with a warning. Sarin had discovered that Astatine had a list of individuals that were a threat to him and that both he and Kamjin were on the list. Sarin advised Kamjin that he should leave the Emperor's Hammer before Astatine made his move. Sarin informed Kamjin of his plans to make one final stand and then depart the Minos Cluster in search of the true Brotherhood. Kamjin, blinded by youthful loyalty still, would not leave the Emperor's Hammer and believed Ronin would see reason and remove Astatine.
Sarin bid Kamjin farewell. While Sarin's words were impactful they ultimately fell on deaf ears. Sarin was considered a persona non grata within the Emperor's Hammer territories and his honors were stripped of him. Kamjin lamented the loss of another friend.
A couple years later, while in dry dock above Aurora Prime, Kamjin arose one day to find his command codes had been frozen. He quickly discovered that most of the ISD Challenge crews access had also been locked down. Boarding his TIE Praetor Kamjin rushed to the capital to assist in putting down Astatine's Rebellion but discovered that it had ended before he arrived.
Astatine had been tricked by a rogue element within the Emperor's Hammer and was ensnared in a plot to implicate him in treason. When confronted by then Executive Officer Cyric Astatine's own arrogance prevented him from recognizing the plot and he refused to take action - threatening that he would burn down the Emperor's Hammer before he let others rule over him. Cyric, with assistance from the head of Emperor's Hammer Security, Rapier and head of Operations Stryfe, were able to remove Astatine.
Astatine was able to flee justice and, in his departure, left a computer virus that significantly damaged the Emperor's Hammer Data Centers.
Executive Officer of the Emperor's Hammer
Grand Admiral Cyric and Sector Admiral Lap'lamizCyric appointed Kamjin as his Executive Officer. He was in need of people who were loyal to Ronin and the Emperor's Hammer and who had not been corrupted by Astatine's Command Staff. Kamjin was honored to be selected and accepted the position immediately.
Cyric and Kamjin set to work restoring the Emperor's Hammer but the damage to the Imperial Database was extension and would never be fully repaired. A replacement was commissioned and restoration work continues to this day. Naturally, the Command Staff was fractured amongst those who had flourished under Astatine's neglectful rule and chaffed at Cyric's no nonsense approach to making decisions. This stalled decision in endless discussion and, ultimately, frustration when decisions were finally forced to be made.
The fleet's resources had been neglected and several Star Destroyers had to be decommissioned or returned to drydock for extensive retrofits. This angered several officers who found themselves without a ship to command. Kamjin and Cyric spent the majority of their time in bureaucratic meetings and leaving with little or less in action.
Marriage
Kamjin and Kya's Wedding PhotoDuring this challenging time Kamjin proposed to Kya. Despite the odds their love had blossomed and overcome their inherit prejudices. Kya believed she had broken through to man inside Kamjin before Zoraan's betrayal and his fall to the Dark Side. Kamjin believed he'd convinced her that the New Republic idealism wouldn't last and the Empire was the only viable choice.
Their wedding was a massive state affair. Kya had the best wedding dress made by the finest designers within the Minos Cluster. Their marriage was celebrated throughout the fleet, with massive displays of Imperial might throughout the sector. Once the celebrations ended, Kamjin was faced with a challenging choice to make.
Retirement
The Credit Overload Casino on HiranFollowing the treachery of Astatine, Ronin and Cyric made the decision to install a Board of Trustees to oversee the Emperor's Hammer's territories. This political ruling body would be made up of only those individuals fully loyal to the Emperor's Hammer. While the Grand Admiral would continue to manage the day-to-day operations of the fleet the Trustees would hold the true power to and control over rest of the Minos Cluster.
Kamjin made the decision to retire his commission and accept a seat on the Board of Trustees. Kamjin was rewarded for his loyalty with being given the title of Moff. His territory was the Pirath System and he made his home and seat of power on the planet Hiran.
Kamjin and Kya made a home in the pent house of the Credit Overload Casino, which was the most impressive structure and covered a whole island on one of the equatorial archipelagos. The two soaked up the sun and found a peace that had been lacking in both their lives. After a couple years of wedded bliss they started their family.
Kai was born first, the spitting image of his father, while Komilia followed as their first daughter. Rohan followed and Kamjin claimed he looked like Tenzin and Hikaru was born last. Hikaru took on his mother's dark hair and complexion from birth. Whereas Kai, Komilia, and Rohan had the dirty blonde hair that most Lap'lamiz had until they grew up.
Kya's Departure
Lap'lamiz Family PictureFor six years the Lap'lamiz family lived in peace and comfort. Each of the Lap'lamiz children displayed an affinity with the Force from an early age. Kamjin would take them out on excursions to the neighboring islands and would teach them the ways of the Force. He tried to strike the same balanced tone that his father had taken with him but found himself short-tempered. The influence of the Dark Side of the Force found ways to creep forth in each lesson.
Kamjin was strictest with Kai who, despite his appearance, took after Kya in mannerisms. As Kai approached his seventh birthday, Kamjin informed Kya of his decision to send him to be boarded at the Shadow Academy and begin his training in earnest. Kya argued with Kamjin that he couldn't break up their family. Hikaru, who had been born prematurely, Kya argued needed his whole family to be present. Kai and Hikaru had formed a fast bond. Similar to the bond Komilia and Rohan had, given people presumed the two were twins despite the nearly two year gap between their births.
Kamjin would not be dissuaded and informed Kya that after Kai's birthday celebration he would be sent to the Shadow Academy.
On the night of Kai's party Kamjin sensed something was wrong. After a frantic search of the penthouse he found Kya on the rooftop. She was in the process of boarding a transport, arranged through her old New Republic Intelligence contacts, and taking the children with her. Komilia, whom Kamjin spoiled, did not want to leave while the boys were ushered onboard.
Kya pleaded with Kamjin one final time but when she saw the raging yellow-red eyes of the Sith upon Kamjin she knew she had to steel her heart. Activating the trigger mechanism she set off the series of explosive devices on the rooftop. Kamjin was hurled into the night air as the transport took off. Kamjin was able to survive the fall though he had no sense of where Kya had taken their children.
Kamjin Alone
When Kamjin awoke after the blast he dedicated himself to finding his family. Calling in old favors from Scholae Palatinae he made contact with an elite squad of Palatinae who assisted him at the onset of his search. It would take several years before he found Kya and the family and, by that time, he took a different approach.
Instead of barraging in and demanding his children back and forcing a confrontation with a woman who, despite what she had done to him and their family, he still loved he made use of one of his agents. Kyle Warhawk, a useful agent that Kamjin had found and converted to the Dark Side of the Force, was assigned to go to his family disguised as a wayward Jedi Knight. The fact that Kyle had once been a Jedi Knight, or what passed as once following Order 66, gave enough truth to the story to get him past Kya's concerns. With his family now being cared for and regular reports coming in to him, Kamjin turned his attention to cleaning up loose ends.
Kamjin destroys the old Iron Throne on Eos
Rejoining the Emperor's Hammer Strike Fleet
He rejoined the Emperor's Hammer Strike Fleet. Serving several years as the Imperial Sovereign Protector advising now Grand Admiral Rapier. After forming a strong bond with Rapier and the TIE Corps Commander Plif, Kamjin accepted a promotion back to Executive Officer of the Emperor's Hammer Strike Fleet.
Destroying the Remnants of the Brotherhood on Eos
Newly reinstated to the position of Executive Officer, Kamjin struck out at the decayed remains of the Brotherhood that lingered with the Emperor's Hammer. Removing the Grand Master from his seat of power on Eos, Kamjin led a detachment of Hammer's Fist Stormtroopers throughout the complex on Eos eradicating any Force users. At last, Kamjin stood in front of the Iron Throne which had been the seat of power for the Grand Masters within the Emperor's Hammer's Brotherhood. It was from this throne that he had been banished and humiliated by Zoraan. He had been denied this throne for years having coveted it and now he knew that it was a lie. A shadow of what it once was and would never be again.
Kamjin destroyed the throne with a single slash from his lightsaber. The irony that the blade powered by the remains of a crazed man who felt that this throne set him above all others was now the cause of its destruction sat well with Kamjin.
Rumors persisted that the Brotherhood had not been destroyed that day but rather evolved, being shaped by Kamjin's hand in a Secret Order. Kamjin denied these rumors and no evidence surfaced to support these claims.
The Return to the New Order
Kamjin "Maverick" Lap'lamiz's Return
Reappearance
At some point in 38 ABY Kamjin made contact with Darth Pravus and was invited to rejoin the Brotherhood. Kamjin quietly rejoined Scholae Palatinae and moved to its current seat of power on Ragnath.
People were suspicious of the old man. Few remembered him from before the Exodus and most of the members were not even alive when it happened. Kamjin quickly became a trusted advisor of Shadow Nighthunter who was the current Empress though her loyal friend Reiden Karr disliked the man. Kamjin took an apprentice, Morvyn, a Togruta sorcerer. During the disaster recovery of the crashed Shadow Academy's Nesolat platform Kamjin relied on Morvyn to continue the arrival and departure of Clan Scholae Palatinae troops while he assisted in the capture of several of the escaped beasts.
Kamjin continued to forge new bonds with the latest generation of Palatinae. Taking young Ellac Conrat under his instruction. While Morvyn was occupied, Ellac and Kamjin tracked down a rogue genetically modified Rancor. This became a trademark of the youth for many years.
Following a successful campaign against The Republic of the Force and the departure of Mauro Wynter, Kamjin was elevated to the position of Proconsul by decree of Shadow Nighthunter. Empress Nighthunter made this deal hoping to gain access to the lost secrets of Scholae Palatinae, such as access to Mount Tantiss and the location of Byss.
Restoration of House Acclivis Draco and Caliburnus
Kamjin returned to a familiar position in an unfamiliar time and space. Scholae Palatinae had nearly twenty years of history after the Exodus and had reinvented itself several times to adapt to its environment. Kamjin recognized that change was necessary, such as the head of the Clan being known as the Emperor. Whereas others did not sit well with him.
Having been the first to lead Acclivis Draco and being in attendance for the creation of the three Houses of Scholae Palatinae, he was dismayed to see that these traditions had been loss in favor of simplicity. Kamjin drafted the restoration of the two main houses with plans to restore Dorimad Sol in the future. The plans were refined and polished and then presented to Grand Master Evant Taelyan, a former member of Scholae Palatinae and the youthful pilot, now Deputy Grand Master Dacien Victae.
Approval was granted and Kamjin restored the Acclivis Draco and Caliburnus to their rightful place. This also created the opportunity to appoint new Quaestors which allowed Kamjin to elevate his second Apprentice, Raleien Sonavarret, to a leadership position.
Kamjin The Conqueror - Emperor of Scholae Palatinae
Seeking the Throne
Kamjin and Thran meeting for the first time.Emboldened by how quickly he was able to restore the two old houses and the accolades it earned him amongst both the new and old members of the clan, Kamjin set his eyes upon the throne. While operating under the guise that he had accepted the Proconsul position to elicit the help of Scholae Palatinae's resources in finding his family, Kamjin instead set to work reforming his own network of operatives.
He reengaged with Dag Duh Dug, Hibbity jibbity, Slyth, and Tiny a group of mercenaries for hire that he had used covertly in the past. Together they took on the Severian Principate and Tenexir Revenants. This allowed his associates to now move freely within Scholae Palatinae territory while Kamjin assumed the role of a front-line commander for the clan. Kamjin took charge of a group of Principate forces while fighting the crystalline horrors, dueling with an infected Twi'lek abomination.
Meanwhile, word of schemes had begun to reach Shadow. A maintenance technician named Amda came to Kamjin claiming to have evidence of a plot to assassinate the Empress. Kamjin investigated the technician's evidence and discovered that his operatives had been discussed. Kamjin destroyed the evidence and had another of his operatives, Daiyu, take care of Amda.
It was also during this time that Kamjin met Thran Occasus, another wayward member of Scholae Palatinae who had come to power following the Exodus and then disappeared into the unknown. Kamjin took note of the man immediately for his ability to easily influence others and manipulate the titans of industry. Specifically making use of his altar ego, Derc Kast, who was a well known holo-movie actor.
Ascending the Throne
In a mere six months, Kamjin had created a state of paranoia in Shadow that led her to abdicate the throne. Unbeknown to most, Shadow had a secret family of twins that she kept hidden from the galaxy. Kamjin had manipulated agents to attack these twins. If not for the timely placement of Reiden Karr the twins would have been taken by Kamjin's agents.
Kamjin worked out a deal with Shadow that would allow her to quietly disappear while he assumed the throne allowing her to take her family into hiding.
The Dark Times (Conclusion)
Firmly in control of Scholae Palatinae again, Kamjin set his sights on consolidating power. He appointed his apprentice, Raleien Sonavarret, serve as his Proconsul while he focused on ending the multi-party rule within the Caperion System. These so calls Dark Times would be brought to an end.
Kamjin and Raleien confront Lanis Kamjin, manipulating his son Kai Lap'lamiz through his agent Kyle Warhawk, operating under the name Gathe, led to the escape of Lanis who had been the main antagonist of Scholae Palatinae since their arrival in the Caperion System. Lanis freed his companion, Liliana Nebulon, and together manipulated Leah Sato and the Nayaman political elite to create a false-flag attack. Forced to be a martyr, Queen Hui Jia destroyed the Elayan General Assembly throwing Nayama into war with the The Democratic Republic of Elaya.
As terrorist agents infiltrated Adoniram Tower and destroyed it, this gave Kamjin justification to enter into the conflict and bring the system to heel. He publicly declared that Scholae Palatinae will no longer remain above the system’s politics but will instead impose order, peace, and security across the Caperion System. He turned the tower’s destruction into a political rallying point and used fear, grief, and spectacle to position himself as the one leader capable of ending the war.
At the conclusion of the conflict, Kamjin and Raleien confronted Lanis. Lanis had believed himself to be secure in the safe house Gathe and Kai had taken him to. At the end, Kamjin revealed to Lanis that he had been manipulating the events from the moment Lanis escaped the prison transport before killing him.
The Imperial Mission
At the end of the final Caperion Civil War, Raleien disappeared from the clan. It was unknown publicly what led to his disappearance. Kamjin then sought to elevate Thran to the role of Proconsul. This was a dangerous move for Kamjin given Thran's reputation as a usurper. Secretly, Kamjin and Thran used this to their benefit. Sith operate best when there's competition and discord. Kamjin would serve as the lightning rod to attract attention while Thran manipulated and favorable terms for Scholae Palatinae in the shadows.
Unnamed Imperial MissionariesThe main example of this was with the creation of the Imperial Mission. Kamjin established the Imperial Mission to improve relations between Scholae Palatinae and the local populations of the Caperion System following the Caperion Civil War. Kamjin knew that the devastation the individual warring faction and Scholae Palatinae had wrought upon the system, if left untended, would sow the seeds of the next rebellion. The missionaries brought aid, comfort, and the doctrines of Scholae Palatinae to the people.
Thran would later utilize the Imperial Mission as a means of identifying and funneling individuals best suited for manual labor to the newly established, Scholae Palatinae controlled, mining operations on Isergess or the gaseous mining platform orbiting Myryakur.
The Children of Mortis
While Kamjin was preparing to relocate the seat of Scholae Palatinae's government to Seraph the The Children of Mortis attacked the Brotherhood. Caelestis City on Ragnath, still recovering from the Civil War was attacked by the crystalline meteors the Children of Mortis sent hurling towards Brotherhood controlled planets. The meteor impacted with The Lighthouse destroying one of the last remaining buildings in the city.
Eventually the conflict would lead to the failure of the anti-gravity controls that kept Ragnath habitable and force the remaining populations to seek shelter in a few domed cities.
Kamjin would assist Grand Master Evant Taelyan in his quest to enter the Ethereal Realm and confront another former Grand Master Telaris "Mav" Cantor whom Kamjin remembered as a young upstart in Clan Taldryan. As the Scholae Palatinae forces assisted in guarding the breach Kamjin witnessed Evant meet Telaris in battle before the breach was sealed. Suddenly the young pilot that had once stood before Kamjin and the High Court of Inquisitors was now Grand Master Dacien Victae.
Dinner with Clan Taldryan
Kamjin fulfills his threat.During the period following the Children of Mortis, Kamjin attempted to make inroads with the other clans and their leadership. Reaching out to Clan Taldryan, a state dinner was arranged. The dinner appeared to be going well until a situation arose with Teebu Nyrrire over the food being served.
What happened next is clouded in mystery. What is known for sure that an event occurred that knocked out those members attending the state dinner. The medics were unable to explain what happened. When Teebu and Kamjin awoke, Teebu swore he'd have his revenge against Kamjin and Scholae Palatinae. Kamjin, consistent with an old tradition in the Imperial Navy, swore that he'd eat Teebu.
This led to friction between Scholae Palatinae and Taldryan which eventually settled when members of Taldryan betrayed and delivered Teebu to Kamjin in exchange for preferred trade partner status with Scholae Palatinae. As a result, Kamjin was able to make good on his threat and consumed Teebu.
Dealing with Clan Tiure and the Hutts
As Kamjin returned to Seraph and observed Thran's masterpiece, the Monolith, take shape the clan began receiving reports of criminal organizations makes moves on the planet Ulress in the Caperion System. Spice, kidnappings, slave trade, and illegal street races began disrupting the peaceful image Kamjin sought to project.
Kamjin after the assassination attempt.
Claudius the Hutt, now leading a fraction of Clan Tiure, sought to expand his criminal empire. Vos, Claudius's majordomo, argued against the move given the Canto Bight Accords that Scholae Palatinae had signed. A previously unknown benefactor, Locita, countered Vos's objections by claiming Scholae Palatinae was already violating the accords and exporting slaves - which Scholae Palatinae was doing via the corrupt Imperial Mission. After Locita offered to split the costs for establishing Clan Tiure's presence in the Caperion System and reminding Claudius that this would embarrass Kamjin, Claudius the Hutt decided to proceed.
As the criminal enterprise expands from Club Antonia on Ulress, Kamjin confronts Thran over the failures of the Imperial Mission and the number of 'saved' individuals that are being 'resettled' in Plagueis territory. Kamjin was more concerned with appearances and Thran's lack of concern.
Kamjin was invited to an official event by Clan Tiure at the Tiure Title Holding tower in the newly built city of Azatra. Kamjin was irritated by Thran's absence after he claimed to help facilitate the meeting and Kamjin feared his Proconsul was beginning to believe to much in the public image they projected of themselves versus the deal they had.
As Kamjin arrived at the event's landing pad an assassin struck. A laser bolt impacted Kamjin in the chest. While Kamjin is evacuated by his Scholae Palatinae Guardsmen and taken to the medical center Thran assumes command of Scholae Palatinae.
Kamjin's Recovery & Departure
Kamjin, with the assistance of his son Hikaru, recovered from his assassination attempt. Thran had secretly been negotiating with Locita, who was actually Jloc'itaome'faottas of the Chiss Ascendancy.
The Council
Justicar of the Brotherhood
Kamjin had begun serving on the Chamber of Justice shortly after his return as both the Left Hand of Justice and Right Hand of Justice. His years on the High Court of Inquisitors were still the fondest of his career and he loved ensuring that justice is dealt out fairly. The Dark Side of the Force and the Sith are prone to abuse and injustice and Kamjin's childhood teachings of balance found an outlet in these roles.
With the elevation of Dacien Victae to Grand Master, he selected Thane Skotos the current Justicar to succeed him as his Deputy Grand Master. Kamjin was then nominated and accepted as the next Justicar of the Brotherhood. Kamjin left Scholae Palatinae in the hands of Thran, who happily accepted a return to the Emperor's throne, and Scholae Palatinae continued to flourish.
Physical Description
Appearance
Despite entering middle age, Kamjin continues to appear 10-15 years younger than his actual age. The copper highlights in his otherwise brown hair just starting to turn gray at his temples, though his beard has gone mostly gray. This has become more noticeable as he's let his hair grow out versus his previous style to wear his hair in a military short cut, though allowing for a frontal spike of the hair near his slight widows peak. This used to allow people to view the short scar on the left side rear of his head.
While the years have progressed he maintains a strong physical fitness routine. While he no longer maintains the muscle bulk of his youthful active service days he is still lean and toned. His olive colored eyes squint as someone with advancing eye sight which fits the crows feet around his eyes and his furled brow.
He laughs often and his smile is genuine showing the barest of discoloration from years of drinking stim drinks.
Attire
During the majority of Kamjin's career he maintained the crisp military uniform of the Emperor's Hammer. Upon attaining the rank of Dark Jedi Knight he began to wear his lightsaber with his uniform, in keeping with the uniform code. Upon reaching the rank of Dark Adept he added the cloak of Clan Scholae Palatinae to his uniform. As of late, he's most comfortable in the less formal Jedi Knight style robes of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood with the Sith colors and his cloak.
He always wears his dual lightsabers in special clips that attach to his hips and thighs to prevent them from moving while he's in motion. His red blade is upon his right hip and his blue blade upon his left. After Kai took his blue lightsaber, he wears only the one lightsaber on his left hip.
Currently, Kamjin is found either wearing his black jedi knight style robes, his Justicar armor that is styled after the armor of the Secret Order, of the traditional robes of Alderaanian nobility. He's let his hair grow out and no longer maintains the crisp military haircut he maintained during this military career and time as Emperor. He's also let his beard grow out.

Lightsabers
Tenjin's Lightsaber
Tenzin Lap'lamiz's lightsaber
Kamjin originally utilized his father's lightsaber. It followed a fairly standard shrouded design common among the padawan's of the Jedi Temple. Tenjin has bonded with a green kyber crystal giving the blade it's emerald glow. Kamjin brought this saber with him when he joined the Dark Jedi Brotherhood and used it on occasion, with special permission, before obtaining the rank of Dark Jedi Knight. He continued to utilize this blade until his defeat of Archibald Zoraan and the bleeding of the kyber crystal within Zoraan's saber with his spirit.
Kamjin "Maverick" Lap'lamiz's Dual Lightsaber
Kamjin's Lightsabers
Following the battle with Zoraan and his newly gained red kyber crystal and Kamjin's improved saber skills; he created two matching lightsabers. The simplicity of the design allowed for them to be welded interchangeably in either hand without feeling a difference in the hilt. To blend in on covert operations Kamjin utilized a blue kyber crystal allowing him to utilize a single blade and appear as a Jedi Knight and not arise unwanted attention by the New Republic.
Lap'lamiz Children
Kai Lap'lamiz
Kai Lap'lamizKai is a unique blend of his parents. Physically he is the mirror image of his father, though retaining a more blondish color of hair. His command of the Force, including a natural tenacity to utilize Mind Tricks and Battle Mediation, also come from his father. Elsewise, he is his mother's son. He loves nature and being outside and deplores violence. He is inclined to finding a peaceful resolution to a situation versus taking a military approach.
He was trained in the Jedi ways by Kyle Warhawk, who also trained his siblings. When he was a teenager he met his father again during the conflict with the Children of Mortis. Kai did not recognize his father first as they fought. When Kamjin revealed himself to Kai, Kai disowned his father and his father's way of life.
After Kamjin was struck by an assassins blaster bolt, Kai did visit his father's medical unit. While Kamjin was in the Bacta tank, Kai stole his father's sapphire blue lightsaber and wields it as his own. Kai did not want another Kyber crystal to be corrupted by his father. Kai still believes that Kamjin can be turned from the Dark Side of the Force.
Komilia Lap'lamiz
Komilia Lap'lamizKomilia is spoiled. Favored by Kamjin since her birth she was given every luxury as a toddler. When she was forced into exile when Kya took them from Kamjin she grew to dislike her mother. While she looks the spitting image of her mother, minus the youthful Lap'lamiz dirty blonde hair, her attitude and personality are the unrefined version of Kamjin.
Since Kai refused to accept that he was to inherit the royal title of Duke from Kamjin, Komilia claimed it for her own. Going so far as to use it while her father is still alive. When Komilia was a teenager she ran away from her mother and lived on the street for a while. She was taken in by a Mandalorian and, unknown to Komilia at the time, she was gifted a suit of Mandalorian Beskar armor that had been in the Lap'lamiz family vault.
While the Mandalorian would refer to her as a foundling, she never took the creed nor did she show any interest in learning the Mandalorian culture beyond its combat prowess. She grew to favor grenades and explosives, which she uses in great abundance. Eventually, she made her way to Ragnath and her father.
Kamjin again spoiled her and put her in a ceremonial position as head of his Royal Guard while he was serving as Emperor of Scholae Palatinae. A position she did not earn and caused conflict with other notable members of Scholae Palatinae at the time. Her reckless actions in several combat situations saw her eventually being exiled from Scholae Palatinae space.
Rohan Lap'lamiz
Rohan Lap'lamizRohan is a sweet boy and is favored by his mother. He loves his siblings, wanting to be like Kai and being close to his sister to the point of being mistaken as her twin. He struggles with the youthfulness of Hikaru as Rohan seeks to be considered older than he is.
Looking nearly a match for his paternal grandfather, Rohan shares the same dirty blonde hair style of his siblings. He is gentle spirited until he notices one of his siblings being in trouble. He will leap to their defense, regardless of the situation or danger to himself. He's bashful and is the quietest of the Lap'lamiz children. Compared to Kai's stubborn defiance, Komilia's sarcasm, or Hikaru's constant chatter, Rohan is nearly a mute. When he's on his own and someone is talking directly to him, the talkative side will come out, but seldom in a crowd.
Rohan, in his teenage years, sought out his father. Being dazzled by the Imperial Stormtrooper armor as a child sought to join the Scholae Palatinae Stormtrooper Corp. Kamjin was able to arrange for Rohan's training and enlistment. Until Kamjin who was naturally ambitious, Rohan is content to be an enlisted trooper. He gets along well with his squad and has served Scholae Palatinae well in several combat ops. He's even gone so far as to earn the respect of Vincent Brujah and Sykes Jade.
Hikaru Lap'lamiz
Hikaru Lap'lamizHikaru is the youngest and most mysterious of Kamjin and Kya's children. At the age of 15 he still lives with Kya and while he's curious about his siblings and their activities he is often aloof. Having been born prematurely and suffering from an unknown stroke as an infant, Hikaru is naturally inclined to being at his mother's side.
When Kamjin was healing from an assassins blaster bolt, Hikaru also went into a coma. This forced Kya to bring Hikaru to Seraph for medical treatment as she had a feeling through the Force that what was happening to Hikaru was connected to Kamjin. While Kya observed her husband in the Bacta tank for the first time in a decade Hikaru was treated by the doctors.
Unknown to the doctors, Hikaru had transcended into the World Between Worlds and was communing with his father. What transpired there was unknown to any except for Hikaru and Kamjin. What is known is that when Kamjin awoke so did Hikaru. As soon as Hikaru awoke, Kya fled Seraph with the assistance of Kyle Warhawk who had become a trusted advisor and master to the children.
