| | Clan Scholae Palatinae proudly traces its roots back to Emperor Palpatine’s Galactic Empire. For nearly two decades, the clan maintained an iron grip on its former territory and began to build a formidable military from the conscription of the Cocytus natives. The clan fended off attacks from both within, including a terrorist organization known as 'The Cause' which attempted to restore power to the Cocytus natives, until in 34 ABY, the Dark Council’s Iron Fleet destroyed the Cocytus System, leaving the clan in disarray, forcing key personnel to escape. |

|
| Scholae Palatinae
| | The clan fled to the Caperion System, a system with diverse spacefaring civilizations and a complex political structure. The clan made its mark on the system by taking Caelestis City from The Meraxis Empire, claiming it as their new headquarters and establishing a new military: the Imperial Scholae Army and Imperial Scholae Navy. Time passed and tensions rose with the rest of the political bodies in the system. |

| Clan Scholae Palatinae is one of the Dark Brotherhood's six Clans. Originally descendant of House Scholae Palatinae, it was the first House to attain the prestige of Clanhood (after Alvaak). Today, it presides as lordship and rulers of the Cocytus system and an integral, driving force within the Dark Brotherhood.
| | After the Empire established a foothold on Seraph in 40 ABY, the Caperion system erupted into civil war. The battle, which culminated with the invasion of the Children of Mortis, resulted in the unification of the Caperion system under the Imperial Banner. At present, the Empire is taking expansive actions to build the infrastructure and economy of the Caperion System. |

| == Brief History == | | ==Clan Organization== |
| The history of the Clan is steeped in intrigue, betrayal and, most importantly, tradition. Scholae Palatinae has seen eras of darkness, where the very existence of the Clan was called into question. However, on the opposite side of the pendelum, the Royal Clan has also seen several Golden Ages in which the members joined together in the pursuit of success...

| | ===The Emperor=== |
| | The Consul of Clan Scholae Palatinae acts as the supreme De Facto and De Jure authority of the domain of the Empire. While the transfer of the title of Emperor is a relatively common occurrence, ultimate power over the citizens of the Empire remains solely with the throne. The Emperor may organize their administration in any fashion that best suits the needs of the ruler and the Empire. |
|
| |
|
| == Government and Politics == | | ===Hand of the Emperor=== |
| === Government of a System === | | The Proconsul of Clan Scholae Palatinae acts as the second in command of the domain of the Empire. As the Emperor's most trusted retainer, the Hand of the Emperor, or simply The Hand, fills the role of advisor and executor of the Emperor’s directive. |
| ==== The Monarchy ====
| |
| Monarchy - one to rule - is a form of government that a single head of state acts as the monarch. It also refers to the people and institutions that make up the royal or imperial establishment, or to the realm over which the monarch reigns. Additionally, the Monarch serves as a symbol of continuity and holds substantial power via tradition and law.
| |
|
| |
|
| The lowest branch of government control upon a planet of the Cocytus System is regionalized and under the direct supervision of the presiding Grand Duke/Duchess of the Region. The number of Regions varies based on the number of Nobles, citizens and whether the system is at war or peace. | | The Hand of the Emperor oversees all facets of the operation of the Empire but serves in a special capacity as the Commander of the Guard and Director of the Imperial Mission. |
|
| |
|
| Overseeing the Grand Dukes/Duchesses, or Regional Supervisors, are the Kings/Queens - the rulers of the four planets of the Cocytus System. Each has been entrusted to rule: oversee economy, spiritual growth, maintain a local militia and expand the resourcefulness of their stead. The number of Kings/Queens never surpass four; however, at times, several thrones have been empty simultaneously.
| | ===Imperial Ruling Council=== |
| | The Emperor has established a loose organization of advisors and politicians that keep the Emperor informed on matters relating to the health and stability of the Emperor. At the behest of the Emperor, these party members may assume control of certain aspects of the greater bureaucracy. |
|
| |
|
| Above the Kings/Queens stands the Emperor/Empress. The omnipotent force that binds the will of the Cocytus system, this monarch rules de facto over other monarchs without stripping the monarchly-related titles from his vassals. This Heir/Heiress can also trace their lineage back to the Sovereign Protectors of Emperor Palpatine: Scholae Palatinae. Thus, it is pre-requisite for the Emperor to be able to trace their current lineage to the Clan of Mystic advisors, warriors and protectors of the Cocytus System.
| | ====House Acclivis Draco==== |
| | Built upon a long-standing history of the Krath, House Acclivis Draco serves the Empire as a covert organization of relic hunters. House Acclivis Draco uses a sigil of an ancient dragon to represent its power. The Quaestor of House Acclivis Draco serves on the Imperial Ruling Council. |
|
| |
|
| The exception to the absolute Monarch rule resides within the Royal Clan of Scholae Palatinae. In which, the Emperor has three groups of mystic advisors known as the Senate, Coven, and Wards, which convene with the Lord of the Clan in all major decisions concerning change and direction within the Cocytus System. These high ranking officials are given immunity within the Star System and report only to the Head of State.
| | House Acclivis Draco operates from the secret mountain installation known as Havoc Base |
|
| |
|
| | ====House Caliburnus==== |
| | Traditionally based on the philosophies and history of the Sith, House Caliburnus serves the Empire as an extension of its military might. House Caliburnus adopts the symbol of the legendary lightsaber of the same name. The Quaestor of House Caliburnus serves on the Imperial Ruling Council. |
|

|
| === Government of a Clan ===
| | House Caliburnus operates from the fortress base known as Steelstrike Garrison. |

|
| ==== The Tyrants ==== | | ==The Empire of Clan Scholae Palatinae== |
| Tyranny - absolute power through the people in an organization - Generally an aristrocrat, or member of the Royal Clan, who has gained power over others, through experience and support, usurps the direct command of the Clan's direction and fate.
| |
|
| |
|
| While some tyrants now carry the negative connotation of being cruel, evil men (or women) who place their interests, or the interestes of a small group, ahead of the 'overall good' of the people they are tasked with governing. The Tyrants of Scholae Palatinae have expanded their inner circle to include all of the Royal Clan: Scholae Palatinae. The Consul of the Clan, places the best interest of his members and Clan before that of the Cocytus or Antei Systems - often drawing displeasure from fellow Dark Councilors - and imparting great evils to perpetuate the success of those whom he is tasked to lead.
| | === Dominion=== |
|
| |
|
| However, no tyrant can lord over an entire community of supporters without the necessary support. Thus, a ProConsul is elected and given the honorary title of Right-Hand; tasked with numerous duties by the Consul to ensure the Clan runs efficiently. To separate the Clan, preventing an insurrection, it is broken into two Houses - a Quaestor being given the task of directing a part of the Clan's future and direction on a smaller level. To ensure the Quaestors did not become over burdened the Consul and Proconsul found it as best practice to allow the Quaestors to appointed Aediles. The second leader of each House is directed to support the House Leader and stimulate activity, mentorship and communication. Thus the Tyrant is allowed to direct the general assembly by delegating to a select, trusted few whom also place the Clan before the greater good of the Cocytus System.

| | The Caperion System has a well-established history of sentient inhabitants and space-faring technology, being home to 5 diverse political groups (6 including Scholae Palatinae). Once a newcomer to the system, Clan Scholae Palatinae has gained full control of the system. Now focused on growth, security, and prosperity, the citizens of the Caperion system have come to welcome the Imperial way of life. |

| === Advisors of the Emperor ===
| | After the unification of the Caperion System and the near destruction of Ragnath, Clan Scholae Palatinae relocated their seat of power to Seraph. The move was considered controversial at first, but the consolidation of power on the larger planetary body proved effective in solidifying the Empire’s grip on the system’s political entities. In 40ABY, The Imperial Ministry of Finance authorized funding the construction of a planned city that would meet the needs of establishing the administrative complex at the heart of the Empire. The construction contract was awarded to Trident Construction and Development, Inc. This company had previously worked with the Clan in the construction of Arx Ondorii on Caina, in the Cocytus System |
|
| |
|
| ==== Clan Senate ====
| | The city was specifically planned for a location on the borders of the territories formerly ruled by The Democratic Republic of Elaya and the Nayama Dynasty. This decision had both strategic and symbolic power. Being placed on the border of the two primary belligerents in the Caperion Civil War enforced the ideal of Scholae Palatinae as a unifying power. Additionally, the proximity to the equator gives the location the symbolic power of being located at the center of Seraph. |
| The esteemed Senators of the Clan Scholae Palatinae - titled Dark Senators - do not hold any official position within the Chain of Command. They are tasked with helping the Consul direct progress, activity and to be steadfast, constant rolemodels unto the Clan. Each House provides two Senators, one Junior and one Senior. The Junior Senator is a representative of the Journeymen in the House, and the Senior Senator represents the Equites and up. | |
|
| |
|
| | At the center of the planned city, the Empire’s headquarters dominates the city’s skyline. The massive pyramid-shaped building serves as a symbol of the authority of the Empire but also serves as the city’s spaceport. The upper floors, above the spaceport, are reserved for members of Clan Scholae Palatinae and other Imperial officials. The remainder of the building is open to the public and houses many shops, markets, public services, and leisure spaces. The building is heavily fortified and offers protection for the local area. |

| | The building was specifically placed in a position that aligned with the ecliptic of Seraph’s moon Ragnath. Each day, when Ragnath rises in the sky it aligns with the pinnacle of the building. This design element was included as a memorial to all of the Imperial Citizens who were killed during the brutal civil war and subsequent invasion of the Children of Mortis. |

| Consul: Thran Occasus
| |
|
| |
|
| Proconsul: Ood Bnar Sythe'rae | | The Empire, modeled on the workings of Palpatine's Galactic Empire, is the frontal governmental system operated by Clan Scholae Palatinae. The Empire is public knowledge to inhabitants of the Caperion System, while the Dark Jedi clan, the real force behind the government, operates in the shadows. This fact is unknown to all but the top military, economic, and political leaders, those who are familiar enough with the Empire to know that disclosing its secrets is unwise. |
|
| |
|
| Quaestor(s): Kalak Ragnose & Robin Hawk
| | Headquartered in the planned city of New Ohmen City on Seraph, Clan Scholae Palatinae established the Imperial capital on the continent of Elaya. This location was chosen for its strategic value, centralized location, and abundant resources. The city was built as a planned metropolis, designed specifically to serve the administrative and defensive needs of the Empire. From this seat of power, the Imperial bureaucracy rules over the Caperion System. |
|
| |
|
| Aedile(s): tba & Jeric Cyrin
| | At the head of the bureaucracy is the Emperor, who assumes total power over the Empire. Serving directly under the Imperial Throne are the Military, the Hand of The Emperor, and the Imperial ruling council. The Emperor acts as Commander-in-Chief of the Imperial Military. The Hand of The Emperor acts with autonomy over the rest of the Government, serving as an extension of the Emperor’s will. Likewise, the Imperial Ruling Council governs the greater bureaucracy as an extension of the Emperor. |
|
| |
|
| | The current Emperor of Scholae Palatinae is Rayne Palpatine, who goes by the title of Empress and Grand Moff. |
|
| |
|
| == Economy ==
| | The bureaucracy has a rigid hierarchy that comprises nine (9) Ministries. Each Ministry governs over a specific aspect of Imperial life. Under each Ministry, there are several Bureaus, each of which focuses their efforts on more specific tasks within the government. Each Bureau may or may not have subunits referred to as Administrations or Offices, which focus on one specific governmental task. All of these Ministries, Bureaus, and Administrations fall under the purview of the Office of Intergovernmental Affairs, which serves to facilitate communication between the compartmentalized bureaucratic arms. |
| | |
|
| |
|
| === Overview ===
| | The nine (9) ministries are as follows: Ministry of Commerce and Trade, Ministry of Labor, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health and Safety, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Security and Justice, and the Ministry of Culture. |
| Amongst the wealthiest of Star Systems, a member of the Mid-Rim Trade Federation (MRTF), the Cocytus system stands economically diverse. A first tier economic system, the economy is heavily fortified in the technology and experimental science industries, employs almost half of all citizens. An unusual development, the primary sector of Cocytus' economic development revolves heavily around raw, natural resources: wood, crude, duracrete. While the manufacturing sector actually resides amongst none of the planets, but a free-floating shipyard strategically placed within the orbit of Judecca. Raw goods are pre-processed upon each of the four orbiting planets, then shipped into orbit for assembly of commercial transports and, though relatively in small amounts, military vessels.
| |
|
| |
|
| Inter-stellar trade makes up a large part of the economy, particularly of its technological advancements and breakthrough science. The largest consumer, and greatest trade partner, is the denizens of the Antei System accounting for a vast 88% of exports and 33% of imports as of 23 ABY.
| | Some notable Bureaus are as follows: Bureau of Imperial Heritage, Bureau of Imperial Services, Bureau of Domestic Finance, Bureau of Imperial Sciences, Bureau of Land and Mineral Management, Bureau of Economic Affairs, and Bureau of Imperial Security. |
|
| |
|
| Often perceived as a free market economy, government intervention is slightly more prevalent than the wealthy Core world economies; however, it is dramatically less than those of the Outer Rim worlds. The per capita gross domestic product (GDP) of Judecca and Antenora is considerably higher regional income than either Ptolomea and Caina, both of which are plagued by natural, elemental barriers that are beneficial to overall economic stimulation.
| | ===Economy=== |
|
| |
|
| | Due in part to the isolated relationship that the Caperion System has with the galaxy at large, modern economic principles had not been employed. Subjected to an underdeveloped economic base, the Empire began its economic growth dealing in trading luxury goods. This field proved extremely limited in its capacity to support growth. High taxation and tariffs along with the questionable economic practice of securing indebtedness from Ragnath’s wealthiest citizens had the Empire teetering on the verge of economic collapse. |
| | |
| | Under the reign of Emperor Kamjin "Maverick" Lap'lamiz, then special advisor to the Emperor Thran Occasus began cultivating and developing the manufacturing capacity of the Caperion System. Unifying existing governmental and corporate entities towards a unified economic vision proved fruitful, particularly in securing Imperial governance rights over the various territories of the Caperion system after the civil war. Under Lam’lamiz and Occasus, the Imperial Economic policy developed around securing loyalty to the Empire through prosperity and wealth generation. Former Political enemies and rivals of the Clan soon allied under demonstrations of how the Empire was capable of keeping their coffers full. |
|
| |
|
| === Exports ===
| | The economic plan developed under Occasus began with clearly delineating the sectors of the economy. In the Primary Sector, massive mining operations, farming operations, and extraction of other natural resources would build a solid foundation for the economy. Unified mining consortiums began extracting large quantities of Doonium, Quadranium, Corundum, Dolovite, Tibanna, Thorilide, Kesium Gas, and Solid Carbonite for use in construction projects that would develop the Secondary Sector. Now flush with raw materials, a focus was placed on refining, manufacturing, and construction. This sector of the economy flourished quickly and created the opportunity for the Empire to develop a healthy Tertiary Sector. This focused effort is still underway, overseen by the Vizier. |
| * Technology (Weapons, Energy, Propulsion)
| |
| * Experimental Science (Advanced Gravity Studies, Applied Physics, Dynamic Anatomy)
| |
| * Natural Resources (Wood, Crude Oil, Duracrete)
| |
|
| |
|
| === Imports ===
| | As a stress test of the infant economic machine, Thran Occasus and Kamjin "Maverick" Lap'lamiz oversaw the construction of a massive defensive space station and weapons platform known as the SARLaC. The massively large military project proved to be an effective demonstration of a growing war machine. |
| * Food Stuffs (Exotic meats, climate-sensitive greens)
| |
| * High Grade Ore (Ditanium, Tritanium, Cortosis)
| |
| * Advanced Weaponry (Targeting Systems, Missile Production)
| |
|
| |
|
| == Society and Culture ==
| | Imports/Exports: Under the oversight of the Bureau of Economic Affairs, the import-reliant economy of the Caperion system has been minimized. Goods from outside the Empire are taxed at an extraordinarily high rate. High tariffs, particularly on raw materials, have been established to develop a strong and independent Primary Economic Sector. Consumer goods are imported at reduced tax rates, due in part to the still-developing nature of the Secondary Economic Sector. |
|
| |
|
| === The Societal Element ===
| | The Caperion system has begun to establish itself as a player in the local star sectors as a provider of Raw Materials, Repulsor Coils, Civilian Repulsor Craft, Electronic Stabilizers, Communication Devices, and Gravity Generators. Several prominent businesses, such as Sal-Mal Repulsor, MagTek Liquid Mineral Extraction, GreevTech, and AnoDryve Innovations, have profited heavily from their relationship with the Empire. This burgeoning market has extended into the Financial Sector as stocks are traded on the Caperion IntraGalactic Stock Exchange (CISE). |
| The Society of each member in the Clan is twofold: Clan and House. There is an underlying societal nature that promotes commonly shared values as a Clan, yet distinct differences in perception and interpretation for members of each House.
| |
|
| |
|
| | Internal: At one time the prevailing philosophy on revenue generation came from high taxation and a misguided system of “Cash for Favor” among the wealthy residents of Ragnath. However, when the Empire expanded to encompass the whole of the Caperion System a wave of tax-slashing reform took place. Due to the dramatic increase in taxable population and better management and oversight of Imperial revenue, the old policies became antiquated. An established flat tax has provided a sustainable revenue stream for the Empire. |

| The Royal Clan
| |
|
| |
|
| Scholae Palatinae is as diverse and unique as the galaxy in which it resides in. The Clan is built upon a strong moral base that constitutes fair play, equal opportunity and the ability to speak freely in a constructive manner. This involves discussions and chances in Gaming, Writing, Leadership and Proposals. Each of which is seen as imperative and necessary as the diverse group of individuals begins to work side-by-side for the betterment of their fictional background and reality as a family.
| | Established under Kamjin "Maverick" Lap'lamiz, the Imperial Mission serves the Empire in carrying the message and values of the Empire to all of the Citizens of the Caperion System and beyond. Members of the Imperial Mission dedicate themselves to service to the Empire, particularly those who are in great need. The Mission operates as a charitable foundation, assisting those who have been displaced by conflict, tragedy, and other catastrophic events. The Imperial Mission provides financial aid, housing, education, and resources to those who have been impacted by such events. |
|
| |
|
| However, this group still remains devout to the teachings of Dark Jedi - letting their passions and emotions direct their actions - as they manipulate the Force and that galaxy around them. The Sons, Daughters and Disciples of the Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Sidious, are pupils dedicated to their craft: to bring Order to the galaxy. To accomplish their mission they work continually to become grand warriors, mystical Force users and phenomenal pilots.
| | The Imperial Mission is funded primarily by donors from within the Empire, who receive tax breaks for contributions. The early days of the Imperial Mission were filled with scrutiny about its efficacy and were laden with concerns over using goodwill as a propaganda tool. After the events of the Caperion Civil War and the Invasion of Ragnath, the Imperial Mission quickly got to housing orphaned children and relocating refugees. Shortly thereafter, scrutiny regarding the Mission and its activity waned. |
|
| |

| | The Imperial Mission operates under the Bureau of Imperial Services. |

| House Acclivis Draco, The House of the Rising Dragon, has a proud tradition and history within the Clan. For many of years the House has maintained the swagger of the Clan - a host of phenomenal Krath writers and legendary innovators have enabled the Clan to hold the reservation as one of the best writing Clans in the Brotherhood, a major contributor to Brotherhood fiction and the house of the original creator of the Master/Student Program Michael Halcyon. It is based in Dragons Citadel on Antenora.

| | The Military of the Empire is divided into three (3) primary elements and operates directly under the oversight of the Emperor and Visier. The branches of the Imperial Military are The Imperial Navy, comprised of three (3) smaller fleets of Capital Ships and the TIE Corps of Starfighters, The Imperial Legion, comprised of the regiments of Stormtroopers and Armored Units that protect the Empire on terra firma, and Imperial Special Intelligence, the network of spies and data analysts that protect the Empire’s interests. The structure of each military branch falls in line with the post-Tarkin Imperial Doctrine, with modifications made to best suit the Empire’s needs. |

| A House named for the legendary blade thought to be the first Light Saber in existence. Originally a Sith House in the days of the Clan's creation, it temporarily disappeared from the radar as the proud House of Dorimad Sol assumed the mantle of Defenders of Scholae Palatinae. However, the Sith would not lay in wait forever, hoping for the Obelisk-based House to fall into obscurity. A feud broke loose between the Clan's Obelisk and Sith, leaving the victor to be the strongest House - a House forged from battle. Caliburnus was that House... the Proud Warriors of the Clan.
| | Members of Scholae Palatinae are often embedded in leadership roles within the military branches. Operating as an extension of the Emperor’s authority, members of Scholae Palatinae may assume command of any Military unit, especially during times of war. Journeymen members are limited in their command capacity to a single squad or squadron. Equite members may command smaller capital ships, flights of starfighters, or entire companies of soldiers. Elder members have unrestricted access to command any unit necessary. These guidelines may be altered by direct order of the Emperor. |

| | Due to the Imperial nature of the Clan, it is not surprising that it is largely focused on improving itself and expanding its borders, knowledge, and prowess. Thus, the borders of Scholae Palatinae have been less open than others due to the Clan’s natural isolation from outside influence. At present, the clan has just recently taken control of the Caperion System. Due to the complex political structure of Caperion and of the Dark Brotherhood, the clan has numerous domestic threats as the system transitions power to the Empire. The House was scratched from the roster, thought to have passed with the previous Golden Age. However, during the reign of Braecen Kaeth & Phoenix Olkyssagh Palpatine, the House of Soldiers re-opened intent on ridding the Clan Domain of the Yuuzhan Vong threat that plagued to strip away their control on the Sector. They are the soldiers on the front line... They are House Dorimad Sol.
| | * Clan Plagueis - At one point in the distant past, Scholae Palatinae was aligned with the Clans of Satal Keto and Exar Kun. However, when these two units fused into a vastly different Clan, Plagueis, a chasm was birthed between the two groups. Despite that rift, The Empire has had a long-standing relationship with Clan Plagueis and counts it among its allies. |

| | * Clan Naga Sadow - A once strong alliance was shattered by Scholae Palatinae's betrayal of Naga Sadow and the theft of valuable artifacts from the Red Fury Pirates, most notably the aptly named Shattering. However, as recent as this feud was, the events of the Twelfth Great Jedi War put the clans back on the same side, and the future is uncertain. Complex diplomatic efforts have restored the alliance, but the strength of the alliance is tenuous at best. |

Even after years of separation, this tension continued. However thanks to the dulling power of time, and the focus of enemies like the Collective, these feelings have finally faded. While in a state of half-truce, it remains to be seen if this peace will last. |

They grudgingly supported the council in the fight against The Collective. |
| The Culture of Scholae Palatinae has advanced and diversified since its initial conception as a Clan in the Brotherhood. Countless members have pushed the traditional boundaries of the Dark Side, exploiting new facets of the mystical essence of the galaxy. Collectively, this spectrum of interpretations of teachings are known as The Dark Paths of Scholae Palatinae. In addition to the developmental study, a behaviorial culture - of active rolemodels - has bloomed into fruition. This social culture have been given the highest of honors in the Clan: the honorific Dark Paladin.

| With the growth of the Royal Clan there have been several shifts in the traditional paradigms of how the Clan's members utilize the Force. The continuous debate of 'how' the Force is meant to be used is paramount; however, no path is restricted. There are members that utilize the Dark Side to enhance the art of war, some study the purity of the source, while others have expounded their philosophy on the Force - melding it with other societal beliefs. No technique is more powerful than another, as each presents a select range of skills and differences that create a balance. In the end, each member must walk their own path that will empower them to serve the Darkness.

While Taldryan no longer enjoys such a dominant position, with the dominant clans in the brotherhood being Arcona and Odan Urr, the clans maintain mutual respect and have no significant history of conflict or formal alliance. Current tensions are the result of events of a joint summit between the clans, wherein Taldryan Proconsul and Ewok, Teebu Nyrrire was mistakenly served a dish that contained Ewok meat. |

| ==== Elements of the Militia ====
| | |
| The most fundamental element within the Militia is the cohort: a grouping of one hundred (100) soldiers. The exception is the First Cohort, whom is under the direct control of the Legion's Commanding Officer. This cohort is, generally, larger than the standard cohorts; possibly, double the standard 100 soldier element. When the First Cohort is joined with the additional cohorts it becomes designated as a Legion of Cocytus (or their respective homeworld; i.e. Legion of Antenora). Command of multiple Legions, or the Superior Officer, is the Field Marshall. This Officer is tasked with the maintenance, recruitment, outfitting and direction of no less than five (5), one thousand (1000) soldier Legions.

| ==== The Need for Militia ====
| |
| A standing militia was created upon each planet's surface before the Yuuzhan Vong invasion as a token, or ceremonial, guard of the acting Planetary Ruler. Yet, after the Reclamation of the Cocytus System, the new rulers were ordered - by then Consul Phoenix Olkyssagh d'Tana Palpatine - to maintain a standing Army at all times. With these additional troops, armed and trained, the Legions of Scholae Palatinae would be free to act when the time came.

In addition to the Emperor & Grand Marshal, the Surface Marshal - the Quaestor of a respective planet - and their Judge - the Aedile assigned to the respective Quaestor - also remain above the Field Marshal in the Chain of Command.

| The Naval Forces of the Cocytus System fall under a modified Imperial Navy protocol. The modification allows for the respective leaders, or appointed Officers, to issue commands that would - under normal circumstances - be outside of the Chain of Command. The exception is for the Leaders of Scholae Palatinae and its attached Houses: Caliburnus, Acclivis Draco & Dorimad Sol. However, due to their minute size - in comparison to a Galactic Empire Fleet - the Captains of the presiding vessels have established a Chain of Command based on Strategic value of their Capital Ship.

| There is a distinct element to space combat that can either ensure the success or failure of a battle plan. This lies in the strategy, effectiveness and overall preparation of starfighter pilots. It is through the grit and determination of these fighter elements that a battle can sway from desperation to a legendary feat.
| |
| | |
| The Scholae Palatinae Corps was created in an effort to ensure the continued success of the Clan's Naval Forces during the reformation of the Fleet. At the insistence of then Proconsul, Phoenix Olkyssagh Palpatine, and then Quaestor of Caliburnus, Thran Occasus, the Corps were created under the rule of Consul Braecen Kaeth. It was dictated that they would co-op with the Naval Forces, but maintain an elusive identity of their own.
| |
| | |
| The best candidates were then accepted into the Academy upon Judecca and trained to handle a vast array of flight duties. The Cadets were often forced to fly mundane missions or transport personnel; however, once they had paid their dues, they were inducted into full flight status. Upon attainment of flight status, an individual is then transferred to one of the Fighter Corps elements and assigned a ship.

| ==== Chain of Command ====
| |
| Retaining an elusive identity, while coordinating with Naval Forces, strains the normal requirements of the Chain of Command. In an effort to remove concerns, and questions, about whom's orders to follow in combat, the following structure was set in place - while in combat.

| Scholae Palatinae literally translates as "Palace Guard." Thus, the members of the Clan share a common ancestry, or roots, to those whom served the Reborn Emperor on Byss as his Force-adept Guardians - blunt tools to execute his will. To augment what the Scholae Palatinae lacked in numbers, the Emperor awarded them command of thousands of Storm Trooopers (The Legions of Scholae Palatinae) to assist in the execution of his machinations. When the Reborn Emperor and his Adepts fell, the Scholae Palatinae - with the Storm Troopers in tow - departed into the Outer Rim. Without resources and stable leadership, the Clan soon found its way to the Dark Brotherhood and became one of its integral parts in the pursuit of the Final Way. For countless years, the Clan would use its military might to subjugate star systems and influence the outcome of battles in the Brotherhood.
| |
| | |
| | |
| ==== Organization of the Legions ====
| |
| It would be under Emperor Dakari's infinite wisdom, that the power of command would be vested to his liege lords of each House - The Quaestors - a Regiment each. Yet, he master-minded a nefarious scheme that granted his Right-Hand the honor of being the Grand Marshal and Lord of All Legions. Thus, empowering the House Leaders with superior military control, training and superior troops. For, only the strongest of warriors can enlist as soldiers of the Scholae Palatinae Legions - generally being trained for multiple years and given the highest grade of military armor and weapons. As the old Troopers perished, their replacements were the near-equivalent of the Imperial Storm Troopers, but a daunted military, and political, asset; both within the Cocytus and Antei systems... The Legions of Scholae Palatinae, a force to be feared and respected.

| ==== Chain of Command ====
| |
| The number of enlisted troops fluctuates from fifteen thousand (15,000) to sixty thousand (60,000) military-ready soldiers, that have been given an assignment within the Palace Guard's Army. The original standard was maintained until the Yuuzhan Vong occupation of the Cocytus System, were each Legion numbered near a thousand (1,000) warriors and was broken into military standards; though, the number of elements and the amount of soldiers was based on the exact number of Officers available to command. Once the Reclamation - from Vong rule - of the Cocytus System was complete, the newly appointed Emperor - Phoenix Olkyssagh d'Tana Palpatine - sought to bolster his forces to prevent future invasions. The exact numbers are still in flux as the scours the galaxy, recruiting warriors from all walks of life. However, maintaining Dakari's model, he ensured that each Planet was guarunteed one Regiment; that could house up to four Legions. These Regiments - not stationed upon Judecca - would fall under the command of the Surface Marshal (Quaestor) and their corresponding Judge (Aedile). Though the Grand Marshal (Proconsul) and Emperor (Consul) would retain the power to rule through the Chain of Command.
| |
| | |
| The last heirarchal position of Scholae Palatinae, that often goes unnoticed, is the Judge of the Scholae Palatinae. The vaunted, and feared, independent military warriors of the Clan - the Judges are tasked with enforcing the will of the Surface Marshal amongst the troops. Often, they act as rear guards, or lead the charge while the Surface Marshal rallies troops, and directs the flow of battle. Each Judge is granted the authority to assume control of a Regiment, when necessary, but must relinquish control when a higher ranking officer intervenes. They are, most generally, the most capable of Commanders whom have been tasked with a mission of making a difference.

| Due to the Imperial nature of the Clan, it is not surprising that it is largely centered on improving itself and expanding its borders, knowledge and prowess. Thus, the borders of Scholae Palatinae are most often closed to outside Clans due to the Clan's natural isolation from outside influence and attacks. This creates a diplomatic quandry as the Clan will most often disregard or blatantly ignore the suggestions from other Clans.
| |
| | |
| In fact, it has been suggested that the Clan will only lay down its arms for the highest ranking Dark Councilors: The Herald, Master At Arms, Head Master, Seneschal, Deputy Grand Master and Grand Master. Because of this unwillingness the Clan has found itself as a black sheep without any staunch Allies, but a trio of Enemies, while neutrally aligned to pair of Clans.

| Once neutral factions, the Clan Tarentum delivered a political blow - inducing turmoil within Scholae Palatinae - during the Sixth Great Jedi War. This event would send a shockwave through the Clan and begin a temporary time of strife that threatened to rip the Clan apart. For these reasons, the member of Scholae Palatinae are still hesitant towards an open, neutral relationship with the members of Tarentum.

| |
| | |
| ==== Actions ====
| |
| Overly aggressive, once the gears of war have begun to turn and public opinion has been swayed in the mob's favor, the Members of Clan Scholae Palatinae will unite behind a single banner - going all in - with little, or no, apprehension about the possible short comings of the current course of action.
| |
| | |
| The Clan is prone to sitting on its haunches and meticulously reviewing the current turmoil of the Brotherhood and abroad (Imperial Sector, New Republic, etc.). Once a potential weakness is found, the Disciples of Palpatine will delve deeply into the conflict seeking out a full understanding of the situation.
| |
| | |
| | |
| ==== Reactions ====
| |
| Known to isolate itself, Clan Scholae Palatinae will, in most cases, close its borders to outside influences at the first sign of trouble - internal or external - and begin evaluating the proper course of action to bring about the resolution that serves the Clan best.
| |
| | |
| Once a violation of peace has been violated, the Members of Scholae Palatinae will counter with a rapid, retalitory strike. This over-zealous nature to defend their territory, members and knowledge has drawn them into direct confrontation several times over the course of their history.

| === Real Life ===
| |
| | |
| ==== Actions ====
| |
| Scholae Palatinae continuously finds itself working to advance in three dynamic directions: Clan Advancement, Character Development & Comradery.
| |
| | |
| | |
| * Comradery: The members of the Clan continuously foster a family-like nature with their fellow members. It is very rare that inside conflict or turmoil pulls at the Clan's strings - In fact, it is most often the case that fellow members are over zealous in the defense of their Clanmates when outside antagonists begin to attack a member. This sort of relationship is strongly built through communication via the Clan E-mailer, Internet-Relay Chat (IRC) and the Clan Conclave.
| |
| * Clan Advancement: The combined Clan Leadership in conjunction with the Elders of the Clan (Most of which reside upon the Senate) are tasked with the development and advancement of Scholae Palatinae. This ranges from a series of large and small projects (i.e. Clan History, Planetary Descriptions, etc.), providing mentorship (Envoy & Master/Student Program, Tutelage of Leaders, etc.) and providing stimulating, vigorating competitions (House Feuds, Clan Feuds, Monthly Topics, etc.). The goal is to always make progress, working towards full functionality.
| |
| * Character Development: It is the hope that every member will advance their character through participation, activity and initiative through Clan Scholae Palatinae. Whether a member strives through competitions, Antei Combat Center, Leadership or Gaming - it is the Summit's hope that every member will strive to advance their Character History, Dossier and communication with other characters. This is most generally, though not exclusively, attained through specific competitions, run-ons and in-character discussions/adventures.
| |
| | |
| ==== Reactions ====
| |
| The reactions of the Clan members is largely instinctive and based on the 'actions' that are instilled as a member progresses through the Brotherhood via CSP. It is our hope that members will stand loyal, devout and courageous in the face of adversity... and if they are ever cornered or feel trapped, that they will retreat to the confines of Scholae Palatinae for protection, advice or criticism.
| |
| | |
| If a member violates the Code of Conduct, however, they will be punished. Right action is considered the core principle of being a member. Whenever a member violates this Code, it will be acted upon by the Clan Leaders - though the level of correction will be oft based on the individual's sincerity.
| |
| | |
| In short, Disciples of Palpatine will not rise (or stoop) to their antagonists, unless those individuals are grievously violating the core principle - right action - that the Clan holds dearly. This bond is attained through sincere interest and devotion to one's self, House, Clan and the Brotherhood. All of which is attained through the comradery and friendships that are forged within the Clan.

Born with the heritage of the Galactic Empire, Clan Scholae Palatinae ever stands proud, ready, and able, an amalgamation of Dark Jedi and Sith, Gray Jedi, and imperial loyalists, mercenaries, and bounty hunters. Led by their shrewd Emperors, House Caliburnus and House Acclivis Draco come together to form glaive and hammer, together mustering their martial might to secure and expand their territory in the Caperion System and status in the Dark Brotherhood. Clan Scholae Palatinae is often referred to by its members by the simplified moniker “The Empire” or “CSP”.
History
- Main article: Clan Scholae Palatinae history
Clan Scholae Palatinae proudly traces its roots back to Emperor Palpatine’s Galactic Empire. For nearly two decades, the clan maintained an iron grip on its former territory and began to build a formidable military from the conscription of the Cocytus natives. The clan fended off attacks from both within, including a terrorist organization known as 'The Cause' which attempted to restore power to the Cocytus natives, until in 34 ABY, the Dark Council’s Iron Fleet destroyed the Cocytus System, leaving the clan in disarray, forcing key personnel to escape.
Clan Organization
The Emperor
The Consul of Clan Scholae Palatinae acts as the supreme De Facto and De Jure authority of the domain of the Empire. While the transfer of the title of Emperor is a relatively common occurrence, ultimate power over the citizens of the Empire remains solely with the throne. The Emperor may organize their administration in any fashion that best suits the needs of the ruler and the Empire.
Hand of the Emperor
The Proconsul of Clan Scholae Palatinae acts as the second in command of the domain of the Empire. As the Emperor's most trusted retainer, the Hand of the Emperor, or simply The Hand, fills the role of advisor and executor of the Emperor’s directive.
The Hand of the Emperor oversees all facets of the operation of the Empire but serves in a special capacity as the Commander of the Guard and Director of the Imperial Mission.
Imperial Ruling Council
The Emperor has established a loose organization of advisors and politicians that keep the Emperor informed on matters relating to the health and stability of the Emperor. At the behest of the Emperor, these party members may assume control of certain aspects of the greater bureaucracy.
House Acclivis Draco
Built upon a long-standing history of the Krath, House Acclivis Draco serves the Empire as a covert organization of relic hunters. House Acclivis Draco uses a sigil of an ancient dragon to represent its power. The Quaestor of House Acclivis Draco serves on the Imperial Ruling Council.
House Acclivis Draco operates from the secret mountain installation known as Havoc Base
House Caliburnus
Traditionally based on the philosophies and history of the Sith, House Caliburnus serves the Empire as an extension of its military might. House Caliburnus adopts the symbol of the legendary lightsaber of the same name. The Quaestor of House Caliburnus serves on the Imperial Ruling Council.
House Caliburnus operates from the fortress base known as Steelstrike Garrison.

The Caperion System
- Main article: Caperion System
The Caperion System has a well-established history of sentient inhabitants and space-faring technology, being home to 5 diverse political groups (6 including Scholae Palatinae). Once a newcomer to the system, Clan Scholae Palatinae has gained full control of the system. Now focused on growth, security, and prosperity, the citizens of the Caperion system have come to welcome the Imperial way of life.
Headquarters
After the unification of the Caperion System and the near destruction of Ragnath, Clan Scholae Palatinae relocated their seat of power to Seraph. The move was considered controversial at first, but the consolidation of power on the larger planetary body proved effective in solidifying the Empire’s grip on the system’s political entities. In 40ABY, The Imperial Ministry of Finance authorized funding the construction of a planned city that would meet the needs of establishing the administrative complex at the heart of the Empire. The construction contract was awarded to Trident Construction and Development, Inc. This company had previously worked with the Clan in the construction of Arx Ondorii on Caina, in the Cocytus System
Government and Politics
The Empire, modeled on the workings of Palpatine's Galactic Empire, is the frontal governmental system operated by Clan Scholae Palatinae.
Economy
As a stress test of the infant economic machine, Thran Occasus and Kamjin "Maverick" Lap'lamiz oversaw the construction of a massive defensive space station and weapons platform known as the SARLaC. The massively large military project proved to be an effective demonstration of a growing war machine.
The Imperial Mission
Established under Kamjin "Maverick" Lap'lamiz, the Imperial Mission serves the Empire in carrying the message and values of the Empire to all of the Citizens of the Caperion System and beyond. Members of the Imperial Mission dedicate themselves to service to the Empire, particularly those who are in great need. The Mission operates as a charitable foundation, assisting those who have been displaced by conflict, tragedy, and other catastrophic events. The Imperial Mission provides financial aid, housing, education, and resources to those who have been impacted by such events.
Military
Separate from the Imperial Military branches, under the office of the Hand, the Praetorian Regiment and Special Forces Command serve the Empire as the tip of the spear. The Praetorian regiment also operates as the Royal Guard for the Emperor. These Guards wear the standard Crimson Armor of the Sith Eternal. Praetorian Regiment also operates a secret training facility, known only as SITE 921, on the dangerous planet of Venenum.
While not operating as active warfighters, several other administrations also fall under the umbrella of the Scholae Military. The Commission for the Proliferation of the New Order (COMPNOR), which operates the Imperial Propaganda Bureau and Imperial Secret Police (ISP) also falls under the Office of The Hand.
Allies and Enemies
Due to the Imperial nature of the Clan, it is not surprising that it is largely focused on improving itself and expanding its borders, knowledge, and prowess. Thus, the borders of Scholae Palatinae have been less open than others due to the Clan’s natural isolation from outside influence. At present, the clan has just recently taken control of the Caperion System. Due to the complex political structure of Caperion and of the Dark Brotherhood, the clan has numerous domestic threats as the system transitions power to the Empire. Outside the Caperion System, the clan has numerous enemies and allies both inside of and outside the Brotherhood.
Allies
- Clan Plagueis - At one point in the distant past, Scholae Palatinae was aligned with the Clans of Satal Keto and Exar Kun. However, when these two units fused into a vastly different Clan, Plagueis, a chasm was birthed between the two groups. Despite that rift, The Empire has had a long-standing relationship with Clan Plagueis and counts it among its allies.
- Clan Naga Sadow - A once strong alliance was shattered by Scholae Palatinae's betrayal of Naga Sadow and the theft of valuable artifacts from the Red Fury Pirates, most notably the aptly named Shattering. However, as recent as this feud was, the events of the Twelfth Great Jedi War put the clans back on the same side, and the future is uncertain. Complex diplomatic efforts have restored the alliance, but the strength of the alliance is tenuous at best.
Neutral
- Clan Arcona - In the past, Arcona was the sworn enemy of Scholae Palatinae. This stemmed from the time when Scholae Palatinae was forced to serve as a unit of Arcona. Even after years of separation, this tension continued. However thanks to the dulling power of time, and the focus of enemies like the Collective, these feelings have finally faded. While in a state of half-truce, it remains to be seen if this peace will last.
- Dark Council - While Clan Scholae Palatinae is extremely bitter about the destruction of the Cocytus System at the hands of Darth Pravus, Clan Scholae Palatinae nonetheless belong to the Dark Brotherhood, and does not possess the resources for war with the Dark Council's Iron fleet. They grudgingly supported the council in the fight against The Collective.
Tense Relations
- Clan Taldryan - Taldryan was historically the dominant clan in the brotherhood, and Scholae Palatinae always had its eyes on taking them down, but out of respect and not hostility.
Enemies
- The Collective - The Collective were Scholae Palatinae's enemy during the Twelfth Great Jedi War. Scholae Palatinae suffered heavy losses fighting this powerful organization that hates Force users of both sides and seeks their utter eradication, inspiring the entire Dark Brotherhood to unite its forces against them. They have lent their support to the Meraxis Empire in its fight against Scholae Palatinae and rumors of them supplying insurgents are beginning to rise.
- Clan Odan-Urr - The Imperial nature of the Royal Clan immediately soured relations with this Light Side oriented Clan. Both have made it clear through passive-aggressive means, that if given a chance they would gladly clash with each other, however, their only interaction was on the same side as they fought against The Collective in the Twelfth Great Jedi War.
Typical Clan Actions and Reactions
Scholae Palatinae and the Empire have long taken the approach of “The Empire comes first”. Typically taking a stance of isolationism, Scholae Palatinae values loyalty to the Empire above all else and puts very little worth on that which occurs outside their borders. The Empire is protective of tradition and seeks to uphold the Imperial Ideal. The Empire values the diversity of the citizens of the Caperion System and uniqueness of the members of Scholae Palatinae, the unifying cry of “For the Empire!” is more than enough to rally individuals together. Scholae Palatinae is quick to defend its honor.
Under the leadership of Kamjin "Maverick" Lap'lamiz and Thran Occasus, the Empire has begun considerable efforts to establish itself as an economical player in the local region of the Galaxy. Likewise, considerable diplomatic effort has been placed within the Dark Jedi Brotherhood to establish the Empires seat at the table.
