The Praetorian Regiment is the elite regiment of the Clan Scholae Palatinae military. While there are other Special Operations legions scattered amongst the other Regiments, the Praetorian Regiment is the only one with a structure entirely devoted to black ops, and is always the one called upon in the case of critical missions. They also have a secondary mission which is to defend the Clan's headquarters complex on Judecca as well as any other sensitive area throughout the Cocytus system.
History
Initially established by Braecen just before the start of the Incursion, the Praetorian Regiment was commanded by Xan Kaeth during the initial conflict with the Others. They fought on Judecca during both the invasion as well as the Reclamation campaign that resulted in the retreat of the Others from the Cocytus System.
Following the restructuring and expansion of the Clan's military forces, Impetus M'nar was given command of the unit, and it became the clan's intelligence agency as well as primary special operations force.
After the defection of Impetus to Plagueis, Dante went through the Regiment and cleansed it of any political allies of the former regimental commander. His next step was to reorganize the unit back to being the elite troopers of the Clan, and not the intelligence organization that it had morphed into while it was under the command of Impetus.
Now, once again, the Praetorian Regiment guards the Clan's most important facilities throughout the Cocytus System. Formerly under the command of one of Dante's trusted subordinates, Brigadier General Korvyn Elvendar command has since transitioned to Commander Shrain, head of Internal Imperial Security.
