This is where he remained, quite content to serve his fellow Sadowans. It would be after the events of Inferno, that Sanguinius would step down and Bentre was selected by the permission of the Dark Council to step into his former mentor's shoes and into the office of Consul. With his attention further split, his service to the office of the Headmaster would be brought to an end after a change in regime in said office. This would leave him to continue his service as merely the [[Wiki Tribune|Master of Holocrons]] and the Consul of Clan Naga Sadow. He had one goal as Consul: to restore the glory of Sadow, in his eyes the original Sith Empire. Whether he should live or perish, he had all intentions to start this restoration by returning his Clan to their former home once again. |

| Zachary O'Maille is a self-exiled Dark Jedi from Corellia. He is a child-hood "friend" to [[Bentre Stahoes]] and a proud Son of Corellia. He prefers not to talk at great length about his tenure amongst Jedi, as it brings up painful memories. He views his homeworld as a badge of pride, yet has not visited his home in over a decade.

Still, he will do as he feels necessary to protect those who considers family. This may include at times friends, House, or Clan. He believes his actions have stripped him of his prior honor, and still seeks to reclaim that lost honor.

| Zachary had a by and large happy childhood. There were a few scraps, including one particular fight with a fellow student, but he was general congenial among his classmates. When he was not studying at school, he enjoyed dabbling in various sports. He used these games as an opportunity to sharpen his physical abilities, desiring to be quick and strong enough to protect those he cared about. His positive attitude won over many a teacher, and his helpful demeanor drew at least a grudging admiration from those who considered him a rival.

| The boy spent many happy days playing by a lake in his free time, and felt nothing but love from his family for most of his early days. His father was a simple office worker, sometimes leaving home for other planets or systems on brief business engagements. Still, he was fortunate that both parents were present for dinner more often than not. When his father would return from his trips he would often bring some trinket from his trips for him. Early in life, there was little outward indication of his Force sensitivity. There were a few peculiar events which drew a raised eyebrow from adults, but rarely were they able to draw their cause to the boy. It probably helped that O'Maille was kind to others, and stood in defense of smaller classmates against bullies and the like.

| It was during Zachary's teenage years that things took a slightly southern turn for him. He became rather infatuated with a young girl, Dannyl Ekita, after which his grades dropped noticeably. The strange incidents increased in frequency as he grew into an awkward adolescent. The pair began to run around together, pulling pranks on teachers and remaining out beyond curfews as much as might be expected from any teenager.

| Still, his sense of justice did not waver, and he still found himself standing up on the occasions his friends sought to bring harm to others. He allowed his passions to lead him into secretive trysts with Dannyl and he found himself drawing away from his other classmates. Despite the struggles of his age, he managed to finish his schooling with passable marks. With his schooling behind him, O'Maille sought out a means to make a living for himself and his love. The first thing he did after he had his diploma in hand, was to drop to one knee and ask "the lady Ekita" to marry him. Drawing him close to her in a tight hug, tears in her eyes, his girlfriend said yes.

| The next ten years of his life were filled with many menial jobs. Despite his hard-working personality, something would happen that neither he nor his employer could explain. Still, it didn't stop them from terminating his employment, and forcing him to seek a job elsewhere. Despite this struggle, Dannyl was a constant companion and comfort. She seemed to have an undying faith in her husband, and unknown to Zachary she frequently contacted her own family for income to supplement their low savings. Her actions behind his back would eventually be discovered, and a fiery argument followed.

| For several days, the two had arguments that varied from merely heated words to thrown objects and streams of curses. The Corellian man felt useless, his pride wounded at receiving this unbidden help. The fights culminated in Dannyl choosing to take leave to visit her parents. This news was not received. Zachary's last words to his wife were "I never want to see your face again" as he buried his face in his hands. The words would haunt him for years to come, as the shuttle which transported his love was assaulted by pirates, and the occupants were slaughtered. It would not be until a week later that word would come to the widower.

| A month later would find the man drowning his sorrows in drink. He was finally able to find a steady work at the local bar as a dishwasher, for a wage which allowed him to scrape by despite his heavy drinking habits. The proprietor even slipped the grieving man a bottle with each paycheck, which did little help Zachary's growing addiction and dependence on alcohol. It went almost completely unnoticed until O'Maille showed up at work one day, a bottle in hand, heavily inebriated. Several broken dishes and a drunken rant later, the Corellian found himself again without a job.

As a child he fantasized about having a lightsaber, traveling the galaxy and seeing its wonders and splendor. In the last few years of high school, Benny would start collecting as many of the New Jedi Order books as he could from the local book store, and even began to write some short stories of his own- though little came of that. |

| In a moment of poor judgement, the torrent of emotions within him would lead Zachary to steal a shuttle. He spent several weeks, hopping from system to system, seeking out pirates and hunting them down. The shuttle's weapons did little to help in space combat, so he would track them down planet side to slit their throats. This went on for about another month before the man became too sloppy and found himself caught in a bad spot by a pirate gang on some backwater world. Overwhelmed by their numbers, the experience would leave him with a series of scars about the right side of his face. For some time, O'Maille would do odd jobs, occasionally hire himself out as a mercenary to make ends meet. Still, nights would find him in a cantina, trying to sedate himself to the point of some tortured semblence of sleep.

| | It wouldn't be until his Freshman year of college that Benny would be introduced to the game Freelancer, and a TC (or total conversion) mod for the game called ''[http://www.freeworlds.us Freeworlds (18.xx)]''- which he would play in the evenings after classes on a private server. Still the man desired a little more. One and a half years later, Bentre found himself leaving college due to financial and academic troubles. During a vacation the summer after, he remembered Freeworlds and on a whim, googled the mod. Lone behold, the mod and its community seemed to still be kicking. Excited, Bentre downloaded the current version of the mod, installed it, joined the forums, and played into the wee hours of the morning as his family slept. A new fascination occurred as Bentre found himself first applying to join the New Republic, and flying about the game's Coruscant system looking for adventure. It would be at a ship Mon Calamari ship and in game base, the Wavefront (or "Wafflefront" as it was known to Freeworlds players, also known as 'Freeworlders') that he would meet his first Jedi. The player, whose name is lost to antiquity, forum wipes and website changes, offered Bentre- then going by the handle ''Old_Sparta'' and later ''Sparta''- the chance to join the game's Jedi Order. Ecstatic, the man accepted. |

| His travels did bring him into contact with a small group of Force sensitives. Their leader sensed the Force in the man, and offered to give him an opportunity to make something more of himself. This tight-knit group of Jedi took O'Maille in as one of their own, teaching him as his thirst for knowledge increased. The months of training allowed Zachary to keep his mind distracted, and over time he became a happier and more productive individual. His sorrows still wore at the back of his mind, but he saw all these things as a form of redemption.

He would begin to study what he could of the Dark Side in secret, by glowtorch as his fellows slept. The planet and its stars were burnt into his memories, and like a man possessed, he began to study starmaps in hope of finding something that fits its description. All was to no avail.

| With no definitive end goal in mind, O'Maille jumped into the beaten shuttle that had served as his ride since he had left Corellia, the 'Vagabond', and punched in a set of coordinates. He executed several dozen hyperspace jumps of faith between systems, touching the Force in hopes of finding the familiar sensation from his vision.

| He was intercepted en route to the planet, and his identity and business were demanded of him. Begging for mercy due to his low resources, Zachary was allowed to land on the planet. First greeted by Warhost assembled in the hanger, he was escorted before the Quaestor of Marka Ragnos herself, and called to account for himself. The man pitifully explained his vision and admitted he had no idea of what was supposed to await him here. Intrigued, Tasha'Vel brought him before the Clan's Proconsul to decide what might happen to O'Maille.

| | Yes, it's nice to have the best image quality possible. But, it also is a good thing to have the lowest file size possible to get that quality. Bandwidth doesn't grow on trees, and doing everything we can to minimize it makes the people that have to worry about that sort of thing happy campers. So, if the image doesn't require transparency, why use a larger PNG file? Use an optimized JPG to reduce file size. In one article alone the change from PNG's to JPG's netted a change in KB size for the affected images from 836kb to 120kb. You might say who cares about 700kb, but that's one article, and over several can add up. Then, with the number of times articles can be viewed... well, you get the idea. Bandwidth usage 12% of what we had is always good. |
| Zachary O'Maille is a dark-haired human with silver-blue eyes and an often unkempt head of hair. His sharp features are accented with a trimmed beard and a slight smirk in most circumstances. Still, this Gray Jedi tends to be very subdued, carrying himself with a sense of calm determination. On the shorter side of average height for a human, he prefers to look friend and foe alike directly in the eyes. His form is no particularly heavy nor slim, though one typically cannot tell as he prefers to shroud himself in robes like Jedi of old.

Bentre (also known as Benny, previously as Zachary or "Sparta") is a the former Consul of Clan Naga Sadow and the club's sitting Wiki Tribune. He considers himself a fair writer, a barely passable artist, enjoys watching movies, trips to the beach when possible, walking through the woods with his wife and child and speculating on stupid minute details like whether the Enterprise could really even begin to square up against an Imperial Star Destroyer, or how many Sith it would take to topple the infrastructure of a planet. When he isn't getting whipped on by his the Dark Council he can usually be found chilling out to whatever pops up on his playlist.

Core Characters
"Bentre Stahoes"
Bentre Stahoes - His current character, Bentre was the first Dark Jedi Brotherhood character Bentre used and one could would argue in a way the strongest. Benny tried to fight the trope of being a lightsaber-wielding space wizard, but that changed a bit as the character developed. Bentre still takes a note from both Han Solo and Malcolm Reynolds, but an attempt was made to make him into his own entity. Bentre's insanity, talkative nature and his quickness with a blaster may be a boon at times though may prove a liability at others. Following the destruction of Boyna, this Sith swore to get an eventual vengeance upon then-Grand Master Pravus, whom he considered insane for the deaths of his Obelisk brethren. The memories of marching against the Obelisk under the orders of the Brotherhood haunt him mercilessly. At one point he had hoped to deliver some of his kin from destruction. His nerve was not strong enough and he was consequentially unable to do anything to sway the battle elsewhere.
Over time, Bentre Stahoes would climb up the ranks of his Clan. Starting as a member of Sapphire Squadron, he would in time take command of the Devil's Shroud Battleteam. He would move up from Battle Team Leader to Aedile, serving in this position for some time. His gumption would find him appointed to the position of the Clan's Rollmaster, where he would serve faithfully for several months.The death of Marcus Kiriyu and later the departure Jax Bendal would allow Bentre to ascend to the position of Proconsul with the approval of Sanguinius Tsucyra. This is where he remained, quite content to serve his fellow Sadowans. It would be after the events of Inferno, that Sanguinius would step down and Bentre was selected by the permission of the Dark Council to step into his former mentor's shoes and into the office of Consul. With his attention further split, his service to the office of the Headmaster would be brought to an end after a change in regime in said office. This would leave him to continue his service as merely the Master of Holocrons and the Consul of Clan Naga Sadow. He had one goal as Consul: to restore the glory of Sadow, in his eyes the original Sith Empire. Whether he should live or perish, he had all intentions to start this restoration by returning his Clan to their former home once again.
"Zachary O'Maille"
Zachary O'Maille - Former character and current NPC. Is actually a twist on a previous character Benny previously RP'd within the Freeworlds mod. Whereas the original O'Maille was a Republic soldier turned Jedi (though very only very briefly New Republic), this version has never been particularly given to the Jedi way. Both played the Jedi part for a while but while one rose to become a Knight the one in the DJB spurned the Jedi teaching and lamented their ignorance. Both suffer a dark taint, one through his father and the other as a result of his wife's death. O'Maille prefers to resolve things through words, but never turns away from a fight he deems necessary, though he will try to spare a life if he believes the person is of use or may be coverted/redeemed in some way- though his definition of redemption may make some wish he would kill them. Zachary came into the Orian system by will of the Force, and he was selected to serve as Aedile of House Shar Dakhan. Zachary would be deposed by Bentre at a later date. He would disappear from public sight when the Orian system was seized by the Collective in 34 ABY.
Minor Characters
These would include some more gimmicky or characters on a whim. Some were planned to become more significant NPCs, while others filled rolls like giving Bentre a student to focus on even while he served as the Clan's Consul during his tenure. One such example of a student was Lav'anre. By contrast, one could observe Cimozjen Kurios as an example of one who would fill a roll of whimsy when a more 'traditional' space wizard was needed without descending into fuzzy Jedi nonsense. It could be argued however, that the seer or psychic angle makes him appear more foolish than was initially intended. Another character included Kris Stahoes, the half-human, half-zeltron bastard child of a young trouble-making Stahoes. Of a minor note, you could point to Gin Voca, a rather two-dimensional mercenary that Bentre sometimes ran around with.
RL Stuff
Childhood
Benny started his Star Wars obsession at a very early age, having seen Episode IV and instantly becoming enamored. As a child he fantasized about having a lightsaber, traveling the galaxy and seeing its wonders and splendor. In high school his excitement piqued when he came across a novel for Star Wars, the New Jedi Order: Vector Prime. In the last few years of high school, Benny would start collecting as many of the New Jedi Order books as he could from the local book store, and even began to write some short stories of his own- though little came of that.
College and Freeworlds
It wouldn't be until his Freshman year of college that Benny would be introduced to the game Freelancer, and a TC (or total conversion) mod for the game called Freeworlds (18.xx)- which he would play in the evenings after classes on a private server. Still the man desired a little more. One and a half years later, Bentre found himself leaving college due to financial and academic troubles. During a vacation the summer after, he remembered Freeworlds and on a whim, googled the mod. Lone behold, the mod and its community seemed to still be kicking. Excited, Bentre downloaded the current version of the mod, installed it, joined the forums, and played into the wee hours of the morning as his family slept. A new fascination occurred as Bentre found himself first applying to join the New Republic, and flying about the game's Coruscant system looking for adventure. It would be at a ship Mon Calamari ship and in game base, the Wavefront (or "Wafflefront" as it was known to Freeworlds players, also known as 'Freeworlders') that he would meet his first Jedi. The player, whose name is lost to antiquity, forum wipes and website changes, offered Bentre- then going by the handle Old_Sparta and later Sparta- the chance to join the game's Jedi Order. Ecstatic, the man accepted.
Quickly he crafted a persona, got involved with the community, and eventually rose to be a leader of both an NPC "News" faction run by Freeworlders, Server Police (what the name says on the tin), and even a member of the Jedi Council (after a schism split the sinking community again). Though he went on to become the President of the New Republic in the later Freeworlds: Tides of War mod, but after becoming disillusioned, he left the community to find his own path. It wouldn't be until years later when an old friend, Marcus Kiriyu would tell him about the Dark Jedi Brotherhood. Marcus quickly recruited Bentre, and thus on April 8th, 2015 a new age was born.

Joining the DJB
The persona of Bentre Stahoes was created and Benny tried to throw himself into many aspects of the Brotherhood: the ACC, the Shadow Academy, the GMRG, the Inquisitorius and fiction activities and competitions throughout the Brotherhood. He would get his first taste of Run-ons in the Clan Naga Sadow and Clan Scholae Palatinae joint event, Red Fury. Though he came in after the start of the event he managed to place in a few events and managed to impress his Battleteam Leader well enough that he was presented with his first merit award, a Dark Cross. As time went on, Bentre continued to keep pushing the envelope, pushing for promotions through early ranks as quickly as possible and participating in anything that he was able.
Early Accomplishments
His persistence would pay off, as he was eventually positioned as a Battle Team Leader, later becoming an Aedile within House Shar Dakhan and taking on other positions as mentioned in the table at the bottom of the page. He also achieved Eleventh Echelon of the Grand Master's Royal Guard twice, first protecting Darth Pravus and later Cethgus Tiberius Entar when he served as FIST- before the Eleventh and Twelfth Echelons became static and he joined the members of the Twelfth permanently.
"The Journey Continues"
Bentre continues his efforts to help mentor and serve his members to this day. Only time will tell to what heights or what lows he will achieve in the process. In this spirit he has mentored two students to the Rank of Knight, also having won an event or two, and attempted to make his page more appealing by borrowing (possibly "ripping off") the appealing design of Slagar's page.

Yes, it's nice to have the best image quality possible. But, it also is a good thing to have the lowest file size possible to get that quality. Bandwidth doesn't grow on trees, and doing everything we can to minimize it makes the people that have to worry about that sort of thing happy campers. So, if the image doesn't require transparency, why use a larger PNG file? Use an optimized JPG to reduce file size. In one article alone the change from PNG's to JPG's netted a change in KB size for the affected images from 836kb to 120kb. You might say who cares about 700kb, but that's one article, and over several can add up. Then, with the number of times articles can be viewed... well, you get the idea. Bandwidth usage 12% of what we had is always good.
The following tools are essential:
- PNGOutWin: For optimizing PNG files for size and compatibility. Be sure to select both compatibility options in the preferences. Some PNG implementations are more retarded than others, and PNGOutWin compensates for just about all of them. If you must (for the love of pete) use a PNG.
- Xat JPEG Optimizer: For optimizing JPEGs singly or in batches.
