Located on Tarthos, the present day city of Kar Alabrek was designed by the former Governor Malisane de Ath at the request of Governor-General Trevarus Caerick after the destruction of the much of the previous Dlarit Security Force headquarters by the True Brotherhood in 27 ABY. Much of the city was rebuilt by 28 ABY, although ongoing expansion operations continue in several areas.
Where Seng Karash serves as the jewel of the Dlarit Corporation's commercial, financial, and mining interests; Kar Alabrek serves as the military bastion of the Orian system, housing headquarters for the Dlarit Security Force: including the Dlarit Navy, the Dlarit Army, the Dlarit Military Academy, Dlarit Intelligence, Dlarit Military Police, and a recruitment ground for the Dlarit Special Operations Group (though DSOG is formally based on Sepros). Kar Alabrek is a full military city, providing accommodation not only for the men and women of the DSF, but also their significant others, children, and other family members.
Where Seng Karash already provides comfortable living conditions, Kar Alabrek has been purposefully designed to maintain high standards of living and bolster morale in order to ensure a loyal military force. The city is protected by a starship grade shield generator to defend it from orbital attacks, while also shielding it from much of the harsh Tarthosian climate outside the city walls. Though nowhere near as big as Seng Karash, there are a number of training facilities located outside the city walls accessible either by shuttle or direct rail link.
The history of Kar Alabrek actually stretches back to the Dlarit Corporation's arrival in the Orian system a decade earlier when Tarthos was designated to be the home of the corporation's military interests. The former security headquarters were constructed on the site of what is now Kar Alabrek under the guidance of then Lieutenant Governor Trevarus Caerick. However, although Seng Karash had been completed in time for the Exodus in 19 ABY, with the sudden onset of the Exodus construction of the original Kar Alabrek was rushed to completion in 20 ABY, leading to the gaps in security that were exploited during the Invasion of Orian. While parts of the city remain similar to before, the main infrastructure has been completely overhauled to close any security holes.
Description
This garrison city is the principle settlement on Tarthos and provides a home for the Dlarit Security Force and the members of House Marka Ragnos. Like the city of Seng Karash on Aeotheran, Kar Alabrek is a large walled settlement with outlying districts formed around a central hub. Unlike Seng Karash the principle feature of Kar Alabrek is military not commercial or industrial and though it does not have a floating defense like the Marakith Skyhook a large number of concealed surface to air silos, ion cannons and turbolasers have been deployed at strategic points around the city. In addition heavy fighter cover patrols the sky over the city and the space station Onyx provides orbital support.
As with Seng Karash Kar Alabrek has a large hydroponic facilty for food growth and water processing underneath the city, both allowing it to be self sufficient in basic resources and supply food for the fleet.
Also like Seng Karash, the buildings are fabricated, allowing for the city to have been rapidly constructed following the original settlement being razed during the invasion in 27 ABY. Additionally this, in theory, allows it to be relocated should the Orian system ever fall permanently or suffer a major natural disaster.

The Hub
In the center of Kar Alabrek lies Ragnos Cathedral, correctly known as Alabrek Castle. Around the castle are extensive guardens, designed at the request of Governor Trevarus Caerick, including expensively landscaped trees and bushes, fountains and statues depicting famous heroes from the Clan's past and present. The gardens are surrounded by a tall hedge to both block out the view of the city beyond and give it some privacy. Only members of Clan Naga Sadow and officers of the Dlarit Special Operations Group are allowed within the grounds.
Near Alabrek Castle lies the Department of Defense, housing the headquarters the Dlarit Army and Navy. Some of the corporation's most senior offices can be found in this building, as well as meeting rooms and facilities for strategic presentations. This building also has an underground bunker for emergencies which is heavily shielded against attacks. In event of attack this basement serves as an emergency command location.
The Dlarit Academy is found next to the Department of Defense. Here the officers and elite soldiers of the Dlarit Security Force are trained in the arts of command and warfare. Outside the main buildings are the parade ground and ornamental gardens where a large flowerbed has been grown in the shape of the Dlarit Corporation logo. Exercise and recreational facilities can also be found within the grounds.
The stockade is a large featureless black building next to the academy. Here soldiers facing court martial or locked up for disorderly conduct are brought to await trial. This is only a temporary facility and those convicted are transported for long term incarceration on Gamuslag at the Cenota Facility. The stockade is also the headquarters of the military police.
The Armory
In the south side of the city lies the armory, not one building but a walled off area containing a series of warehouses and factories. Here the machinery of the Dlarit Security Force is serviced, constructed, and maintained, including everything from personal weapons and armor, walkers and large ground equipment, fighters and bombers and large ship weapons and components. The equipment is either stored or shipped out to the forces where required. A small separate spaceport can be found here primarily for shipping equipment out to the fleet.
The Residential District
In the west side of the city houses the various regimental barracks of the Dlarit Security Force providing accommodation, training and exercise for both forces stationed on Tarthos and those on leave in the city. In order to relieve congestion each barracks has its own shops and a few bars, though most soldiers head for the bright lights of the entertainment district for recreation. There are also a limited number of married quarters for those who have found spouses in or out of the security forces.
The Entertainment District
As you enter the Entertainment District the first thing that stands out is the vast number of bright neon signs. The signs stand out vividly against the grey buildings. The district is big all around except that is has only three streets, one is full of all the bars and strip clubs, the second in where all the casinos are located, and the last street is where The Arena is located as well as a small bar used for celebrating a win at The Arena. On the north side of the city is the Entertainment District. The atmosphere is rowdy, there are far fewer shops in this area and though there is a cinema all though the entertainment here is far from family orientated. The streets are littered with bars, strip clubs, and casinos designed to draw in all types. On the eastern side of the Entertainment District is an area called The Beatdown Block or for the more civilized, The Arena. No matter who you are or where you are from you will find something to keep you busy on your down time in the Entertainment District.
Bars
The bars that line the streets are of all different varieties and can be like home to any no matter what part of the galaxy you come from. The drinks served in each establishment tend to follow specific guidelines as each bar is designed to target a particular group or species. In the center all the bars is a place called The Disciples Den, a bar strictly for members of Marka Rangos and a select few higher ranked Brotherhood Members as stated by it's owner Dark Jedi Knight Fremoc "Demonic" Pepoi. Another well known place is The Sarlaac Pit, a bar run by and old man who said he once witnessed the great beast roaming the deserts of Tatooine, this place is usually filled with those who once or still tend to collect on bounties every now and then and is well known for its assembled mass of hunt stories. Another loved spot is The Bucket Shop, if you ever want to hear old war stories from the part this is the place to go as it is run by a former Imperial Storm Trooper who believed there is nothing better than a good ole war story to down a big glass of something strong too.
Strip Clubs
The strip clubs in the Entertainment District range from the sleaziest places that even a Hutt wouldn’t slither into all the way up to the highest class establishments that the highest ranking officials cant help but sneak into every once in a while as a status booster. While these places are usually more popular than the bars they wouldn’t run without them because no strip establishment can sale any type of alcohol. Because of this there is usually a bar located on either side of any given strip club. The two most popular strip clubs are Triple Zero and Forever Hott. Triple Zero is known mostly for its Humanoid performers with 3 show assets rather than the regular 2. Forever Hott is the most upscale place in the Entertainment District, it can be seen from a ways away because of the massive fire launchers in front of the main entrance.
Casinos and Arena
The Entertainment District also has a variety of venues for the gamblers out there including an arena where men go toe to toe in a brutal battle while stands full of spectators scream for the man they placed there bets on. The casinos are usually a focal point anyone who is down on there luck and needs to try and pick up a few extra credits even if the odds are stacked against them. The Arena or Beatdown Block as most people call it is where most gambling is done. The Arena fighters are of all different species from all over the galaxy. Most of them are just looking to make a name for themselves while others just want to sharpen there fighting skills. There are several small groups of fighters in the arena including a group of former Commandos, a group of prize fighters who travel to where the biggest prize is at that time, and a group of Mandalorian bounty hunters, assassins, and mercenaries known as Mandálii kote, or Mandalorian Glory, this group was assembled and trained by Jedi Hunter Kano Verda, the Obelisk Sergeant of the Night Raptors.
The Starport
On the east side of the city lies the starport, as large and busy as it's Aeotheran neighbor. There are no private vessels and landing is highly regulated to military and supply ships only. Though equipment is shipped in and out of the system via the armory, troops and supplies are both transported to the starport or from the hydrophonics facility to the fleet.
