House Scholae Palatinae is one of the original units of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood and one of the first that had been made into a Clan in 19 ABY. With the decree from the Dark Council in 33 ABY it returned to it’s original House status. Independent and Proud, today, it presides as the rules of the Cocytus system as its dominion. The Empire, although small, is an important and historic force within the Dark Brotherhood.
Clan Scholae Palatinae is one of the Dark Brotherhood's six Clans. Originally descendant of House Scholae Palatinae, it was the first House to attain the prestige of Clanhood (after Alvaak). Today, it presides as lordship and rulers of the Cocytus system and an integral, driving force within the Dark Brotherhood.

Brief History
Brief History
The history of the Clan is steeped in intrigue, betrayal and, most importantly, tradition. Scholae Palatinae has seen eras of darkness, where the very existence of the Clan was called into question. However, on the opposite side of the pendelum, the Royal Clan has also seen several Golden Ages in which the members joined together in the pursuit of success...
Scholae Palatinae has seen the whole spectrum of stability. A long-standing history of betrayal, intrigue, and behind the curtain dealings have been over shadowed by the strong sense of tradition that still rings true. There have been times of darkness and despair where it seemed Scholae Palatinae would fall for good. Yet there have been times of prosperity, the Golden Ages, in which the strong traditions overwhelmed personal gain and the members came together to bring amazing amounts of progress and success.

Government of a System
The Monarchy
Government of a System
Monarchy - one to rule - is a form of government that a single head of state acts as the monarch. It also refers to the people and institutions that make up the royal or imperial establishment, or to the realm over which the monarch reigns. Additionally, the Monarch serves as a symbol of continuity and holds substantial power via tradition and law.

The Royal Rule
The lowest branch of government control upon a planet of the Cocytus System is regionalized and under the direct supervision of the presiding Grand Duke/Duchess of the Region. The number of Regions varies based on the number of Nobles, citizens and whether the system is at war or peace.

Monarchy a form of government in which there is one absolute ruler, the head of state, the king or in case of the Cocytus System, Emperor. With a Monarchical Republic, the existence of a Senate to help present this issues of the people for Imperial Review. Beneath the rule of the Emperor there is the people and institutions that make up the imperial establishment. This method of control technically allows absolute control in the hands of the Monarch while allowing enough leeway that the Monarch is not required to oversee every detail as well as giving the illusion there is some power by the people. In addition, the Monarch also serves as a symbol of power and stability with substantial power coming from traditions and laws. This system is the public face of House Scholae Palatinae shows to the inhabitants of the Cocytus System. At no point does the Brotherhood reveal itself to the natives of the system.
Overseeing the Grand Dukes/Duchesses, or Regional Supervisors, are the Kings/Queens - the rulers of the four planets of the Cocytus System. Each has been entrusted to rule: oversee economy, spiritual growth, maintain a local militia and expand the resourcefulness of their stead. The number of Kings/Queens never surpass four; however, at times, several thrones have been empty simultaneously.

Grand Dukes/Duchesses
Above the Kings/Queens stands the Emperor/Empress. The omnipotent force that binds the will of the Cocytus system, this monarch rules de facto over other monarchs without stripping the monarchly-related titles from his vassals. This Heir/Heiress can also trace their lineage back to the Sovereign Protectors of Emperor Palpatine: Scholae Palatinae. Thus, it is pre-requisite for the Emperor to be able to trace their current lineage to the Clan of Mystic advisors, warriors and protectors of the Cocytus System.

The lowest levels of government are the regions on the individual planets and moons. Each of the inhabited planet and moon of the Cocytus System is regionalized based on the numbers of Nobility, total population, and economic output. Each region is under the direct supervision of a Grand Duke/Duchess. These are often local members of the nobility, who are left unawares of the existence of the Brotherhood.
The exception to the absolute Monarch rule resides within the Royal Clan of Scholae Palatinae. In which, the Emperor has three groups of mystic advisors known as the Senate, Coven, and Wards, which convene with the Lord of the Clan in all major decisions concerning change and direction within the Cocytus System. These high ranking officials are given immunity within the Star System and report only to the Head of State.

Kings/Queens
Government of a Clan
Over the Grand Dukes/Duchesses are the Kings/Queens rulers of the planets of the Cocytus System. There is one for each planet of the system and their rule is ranged to oversee the moons of their respective planets as well. Each King/Queen has been trusted with the duties of: Global Economic Functions, Spiritual Growth, Local Militia and expanding the abilities of their planet and moons to provide for the greater good of the Empire. There are five Kings/Queens to represent the each of the planets of the Cocytus System. Judecca is left unrepresented as the home world for the Empire. There, advisors in the Imperial Palace complete the typical functions of the King/Queen. The number of Kings/Queens never surpasses five; however there have been instances where thrones have sat empty. The Kings/Queens of the Cocytus System are usually always members of the Brotherhood, positioned in power to keep the system in line while securing that no information is leaked to the public.

The Tyrants
Emperor/Empress
Tyranny - absolute power through the people in an organization - Generally an aristrocrat, or member of the Royal Clan, who has gained power over others, through experience and support, usurps the direct command of the Clan's direction and fate.

Above the Kings/Queens reigns the Emperor/Empress. The entirety of the Cocytus system falls under the rule of the rule of this omnipotent force. The Emperor rules de facto over the entire system with everyone ultimately reporting to him. This allows the monarchs of the individual planets to rule without having to remove their related titles and still operate with degrees of freedom. The Senate helps alleviate some of the duties of the Emperor. Advisors within the Imperial Palace handle the functioning of Judecca so that the Emperor has the time to direct and control as he wills. For several Emperors, it is the Tyrant of the House who rules as the public face of the Cocytus System, totally intertwining the fates of both the system and the house to the politics of the Brotherhood, without ever making its presence known.
While some tyrants now carry the negative connotation of being cruel, evil men (or women) who place their interests, or the interestes of a small group, ahead of the 'overall good' of the people they are tasked with governing. The Tyrants of Scholae Palatinae have expanded their inner circle to include all of the Royal Clan: Scholae Palatinae. The Consul of the Clan, places the best interest of his members and Clan before that of the Cocytus or Antei Systems - often drawing displeasure from fellow Dark Councilors - and imparting great evils to perpetuate the success of those whom he is tasked to lead.

There was a time when the Emperor was just a tool used by the House. Advised by “mystics” the Emperor would do as was commanded by Scholae Palatinae. This practice died out over the years as it became obvious that it would be easier to rule as one. While this subjects the system to more frequent changes in Emperor, it is not enough that it causes major alarm for the natives. As such the Emperor and the leader of the House are always one in the same, and must find a way to balance system control with the duties demanded of being a Quaestor.
However, no tyrant can lord over an entire community of supporters without the necessary support. Thus, a ProConsul is elected and given the honorary title of Right-Hand; tasked with numerous duties by the Consul to ensure the Clan runs efficiently. To separate the Clan, preventing an insurrection, it is broken into two Houses - a Quaestor being given the task of directing a part of the Clan's future and direction on a smaller level. To ensure the Quaestors did not become over burdened the Consul and Proconsul found it as best practice to allow the Quaestors to appointed Aediles. The second leader of each House is directed to support the House Leader and stimulate activity, mentorship and communication. Thus the Tyrant is allowed to direct the general assembly by delegating to a select, trusted few whom also place the Clan before the greater good of the Cocytus System.

The Structure as viewed by inhabitants of the Cocytus System is:

Emperor/Empress > Kings/Queens > Grand Dukes/Duchesses
Tyranical Rule
Tyrants of Scholae Palatinae:
Appointed Positions
Beyond the power of the royalty is the support positions seen by inhabitants of the system. Appointed administrators have specific charges ranging from overseeing economic plans system to education systems. These positions are often given to those most capable of handling the position in a balance able to take orders without questioning. While many are capable and able to do without digging around, there have been appointments to these administrative slots that have been useless, but kept in place due to their complacency.
Grand Marshal
The most powerful of these appointed officials is the Grand Marshal, whom is widely seen as the second in command of the system. The Grand Marshal is in charge of the military forces of the system, with each of the planets militia and paid forces answering his call. The Grand Marshal is always an experienced Brotherhood member who is capable of accepting the responsibilities of system army leader in addition to the role of Aedile.
The Grand Marshal is the one who mobilizes the system’s forces every time there is an attack, either from out of system or from within. While many like to believe that the police force is an independent force, they too are ultimately under the control of the Grand Marshal.
System Moff
The second crucial position beyond the Emperor is that of System Moff. The Moff is the structural keystone to keep all of the government running. Ultimately reporting to the Emperor the Moff is utilized as the main controller of all the system’s functioning. While the public still recognizes the Emperors direct authority over the Kings/Queens of the system, it is the Moff who keeps them all in line per orders from the Emperor.
The System Moff has to be cunning and intelligent to keep the system from grinding to a halt. Coupled with the fact this position also deals with the duties of House Rollmaster, the Moff plays a very important role to insure that both the house and system continue to function.
The Senate
While the nobility and administrative positions maintain the structure and functioning of the Cocytus System, the Senate is responsible for making sure the needs of the people are heard. While having limited powers and ability, this elected body by the people exists to insure that those in charge never forget whom they are responsible for. Outside of the direct control of the Emperor, the Senate maintains communications with all aspects of system-wide governing.
Government of a Clan
Tyrannical Rule
Tyranny absolute rule of a leader through unrestrained exercise of power. As members of the Royal House move up in power and experience, moves for power are quite common. By gaining power over others, through experience and support, one can usurp the command of the House. These constant plays for power cause tension but never disrupts the overall functioning of House and System.
Tyrants carry a very negative connotation of being cruel, vain, evil and power hungry who place their interests ahead of the 'overall good' of the people they govern. The Tyrants of Scholae Palatinae have an inner circle to include the entirety of the Royal House. The Quaestor of Scholae Palatinae holds the best interests of the House above all else. This means hard choices have to be made, often drawing anger and resentment from the other members of the Dark Council. The responsibility of the Tyrant is doubly so, not only needing to keep the promise of strengthening the House, but working as Emperor of a system as well.
With the pressure and responsibility of running a House and a System, no tyrant can rule without support. As such an Aedile is selected and tasked with various duties by the Quaestor to help the house run effectively. In addition, a Rollmaster is also appointed to help maintain the wellbeing of the members of the house.
Select members of the house are given the honor of serving in a Battleteam. There are various types of these units ranging from elite commando units to intelligence gathering units. The leaders of these teams are expected to maintain the highest level of excellence and stability. These teams are tasked with supporting the House Summit in maintaining order with-in and out of the system.
With such positions in place, the Tyrant can lead with a level of delegation to a small highly trusted group of individuals. All of who that lead the House are expected to keep the needs of the house in the forefront of their minds as they go about fulfilling their duties while also keeping the system at large safe and unaware of the true nature of those who rule it.
The Tyrants
It has become a tradition that the Tyrants be given a secondary Title as a description of their personality. These titles are not given lightly and are earned by the actions and demeanor of each.

A wealthy Star System and a member of the Mid-Rim Trade Federation (MRTF), the Cocytus system is economically diverse. As a first tier economic system the economy is involved in the technological and experimental science industries, with almost half of all citizens employed in these areas. The primary sector of Cocytus’ economic development revolves around raw, natural resources: wood, crude oil, and duracrete. There is a free-floating shipyard placed strategically within the orbit of Judecca. Raw materials from the planets and moons of the system are shipped into orbit for assembly of commercial transports and very small amounts of military vessels. The materials not needed in the shipyard are either exported to other systems or sent to Gressil a large industrial moon orbiting the Gas Planet of Iblis.

Proconsul: Ood Bnar Sythe'rae
It is Inter-stellar trade that makes up another large portion of the economy, particularly of the systems technological advancements and cutting-edge science. The largest consumer and greatest trade partner of the Cocytus System are the denizens of the Antei System, which accounts for 88% of exports and 33% of imports.

Quaestor(s): Kalak Ragnose & Robin Hawk
While often misperceived as a free market economy, government intervention is more prevalent than the wealthy Core worlds; however, it is far less than those of the Outer Rim. While the several of the system’s planets (such as Caina and Vassago) are harsh environments plagued with natural, elemental barriers for life forms to utilize, all have been proven to be beneficial to the overall economic stimulation.

Amongst the wealthiest of Star Systems, a member of the Mid-Rim Trade Federation (MRTF), the Cocytus system stands economically diverse. A first tier economic system, the economy is heavily fortified in the technology and experimental science industries, employs almost half of all citizens. An unusual development, the primary sector of Cocytus' economic development revolves heavily around raw, natural resources: wood, crude, duracrete. While the manufacturing sector actually resides amongst none of the planets, but a free-floating shipyard strategically placed within the orbit of Judecca. Raw goods are pre-processed upon each of the four orbiting planets, then shipped into orbit for assembly of commercial transports and, though relatively in small amounts, military vessels.

Often perceived as a free market economy, government intervention is slightly more prevalent than the wealthy Core world economies; however, it is dramatically less than those of the Outer Rim worlds. The per capita gross domestic product (GDP) of Judecca and Antenora is considerably higher regional income than either Ptolomea and Caina, both of which are plagued by natural, elemental barriers that are beneficial to overall economic stimulation.

While House Scholae Palatinae maintains the identity set forth as it’s time of a clan, the ideals of the old houses of Acclivis Draco, Caliburnus, and Dorimad Sol maintain fixed in the hearts of many of the members. As such they are remembered and maintained as part of the societal element members experience here in Scholae Palatinae.

The Royal House

Society and Culture
Scholae Palatinae is built upon the foundations of the Great Empire and the ideals set forth by Emperor Palpatine. The group remains devout to the teachings of the Dark Jedi letting passion and emotion direct actions and the manipulation of the Force. Members see themselves as a Disciple of the Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Sidious, and are dedicated to his work: bringing order and control to the galaxy. To accomplish this they work continually to become outstanding warriors, mystical Force users and phenomenal pilots.

The Societal Element
However as a group there is a tight sense of brotherhood. While the scheming and power moves are still very prominent in the House, there is a strong foundation of group morals. Fair play, equal opportunity and the freedom of constructive speech are not only accepted but also encouraged. This involves discussions and chances in gaming, writing, leadership and project proposals. Each is seen as imperative and necessary for the group to survive. This diverse group works side-by-side for the betterment of the House’s fictional background and reality as a family and close friends.
The Society of each member in the Clan is twofold: Clan and House. There is an underlying societal nature that promotes commonly shared values as a Clan, yet distinct differences in perception and interpretation for members of each House.

It was based in the Dragons Citadel on Antenora. After the call from the Dark Council to strike clanship brotherhood wide, Acclivis Draco was forced to close its door and leave many to still hold to its ideals and legacy.

Scholae Palatinae is as diverse and unique as the galaxy in which it resides in. The Clan is built upon a strong moral base that constitutes fair play, equal opportunity and the ability to speak freely in a constructive manner. A House named for the legendary blade thought to be the first Light Saber in existence. Originally a Sith House in the days of the Clan's creation, it temporarily disappeared from the radar as the proud House of Dorimad Sol assumed the mantle of Defenders of Scholae Palatinae. However, the Sith would not lay in wait forever, hoping for the Obelisk-based House to fall into obscurity. A feud broke loose between the Clan's Obelisk and Sith, leaving the victor to be the strongest House - a House forged from battle. Caliburnus was that House... the Proud Warriors of the Clan.
It is named for the legendary blade thought to be the first Lightsaber in existence. Originally Sith in the first days of Clan Scholae Palatinae, it disappeared as Dorimad Sol assumed responsibility as the Defenders of Scholae Palatinae. However, this would last and Caliburnus returned to reclaim its honor. After a feud between the two groups, Caliburnus emerged successful. Forged from the heat of battle it was home to the proudest warriors and generals in Scholae Palatinae. As time would go on, its role moved to intelligence gathering to maintain the security of the House.

Dorimad Sol was removed from the sections of Scholae Palatinae until the reign of Braecen Kaeth & Phoenix Olkyssagh Palpatine. The Culture of Scholae Palatinae has advanced and diversified since its initial conception as a Clan in the Brotherhood. Countless members have pushed the traditional boundaries of the Dark Side, exploiting new facets of the mystical essence of the galaxy. Collectively, this spectrum of interpretations of teachings are known as The Dark Paths of Scholae Palatinae. In addition to the developmental study, a behaviorial culture - of active rolemodels - has bloomed into fruition. This social culture have been given the highest of honors in the Clan: the honorific Dark Paladin.
Nightstalkers is a small elite commando unit. With roots tracing back to the Emperor’s Hammer, it was disbanded in 22 ABY. Following the striking loss at Salas V, Scholae Palatinae ordered a refocus for the elite warriors of the House.  Nightstalkers reformed to provide the experienced warriors of the House a home to further focus their skills and maintain stability system-wide and on the battle field with future skirmishes between the houses.

Serving as Role Models of high activity and Clan ethos, these revered members are an elite fraternity given an extraordinary honor and responsibility to uphold the values of Scholae Palatinae. During times of war, the Consul will either task his Paladins with individual missions or send them to the front lines as wartime Officers.

Dubbed the "Royal Clan" through their heritage and history, Scholae Palatinae has established a foothold in the Cocytus System as mystical warriors and leaders of the government. With affiliation to this elite sect of political power, the individuals of the Clan are granted official titles upon their elevation to the rank of Dark Jedi Knight. It is at this point, based on the merit of their actions, that the members are awarded honor points towards elevations within the Royal Clan with varying titles of Nobility derived from the culture of Judecca - the Scholae Palatinae home world.

Scholae Palatinae, the Royal House through heritage and history, has a strong grip on the Cocytus System. As the leaders of rulers of this Royal Hierarchy, Scholae Palatinae has followed the ideals of royal rule. As such each member of Scholae Palatinae has the right to royal titles of nobility. These are initially award at Knighthood, where based on the merit of their actions members receive honor points to earn new levels of Nobility and the privileges that go along with them. The standing military of the Cocytus System is broken into three elements: Militia, Fleet of Scholae Palatinae and Legions of Scholae Palatinae. Each branch is highly regarded for their skills in warfare; though, each element is uniquely different in the way it is deployed and managed. As a combined force they are designated the Military of Scholae Palatinae - based on Imperial Rule and Tradition - the divisible elements can be positioned and commanded with greater ease.

Militia
The standing Army, or Martial Law, of each planet is entrusted to their Field Marshal: The King, or Queen, of the planet. The Field Marshall is entrusted with ten legions of common soldiers. These are warriors that have signed into a professional army; however, they still have not committed themselves to the zealous nature of the Royal Legions. Thus, they are profecient, yet still hold reservations about open warfare. The largest standing order of the Militia is to police the system, leaving the Naval Forces and Legions free to execute the Emperor's bidding.

Elements of the Militia
The most fundamental element within the Militia is the cohort: a grouping of one hundred (100) soldiers. The exception is the First Cohort, whom is under the direct control of the Legion's Commanding Officer. This cohort is, generally, larger than the standard cohorts; possibly, double the standard 100 soldier element. When the First Cohort is joined with the additional cohorts it becomes designated as a Legion of Cocytus (or their respective homeworld; i.e. Legion of Antenora). Command of multiple Legions, or the Superior Officer, is the Field Marshall. This Officer is tasked with the maintenance, recruitment, outfitting and direction of no less than five (5), one thousand (1000) soldier Legions.

Scholae Palatinae literally translates as "Palace Guard." Thus, the members of the Clan share a common ancestry, or roots, to those whom served the Reborn Emperor on Byss as his Force-adept Guardians - blunt tools to execute his will. To augment what the Scholae Palatinae lacked in numbers, the Emperor awarded them command of thousands of Storm Trooopers (The Legions of Scholae Palatinae) to assist in the execution of his machinations. When the Reborn Emperor and his Adepts fell, the Scholae Palatinae - with the Storm Troopers in tow - departed into the Outer Rim. Without resources and stable leadership, the Clan soon found its way to the Dark Brotherhood and became one of its integral parts in the pursuit of the Final Way. For countless years, the Clan would use its military might to subjugate star systems and influence the outcome of battles in the Brotherhood.

It would be under Emperor Dakari's infinite wisdom, that the power of command would be vested to his liege lords of each House - The Quaestors - a Regiment each. Yet, he master-minded a nefarious scheme that granted his Right-Hand the honor of being the Grand Marshal and Lord of All Legions. Thus, empowering the House Leaders with superior military control, training and superior troops. For, only the strongest of warriors can enlist as soldiers of the Scholae Palatinae Legions - generally being trained for multiple years and given the highest grade of military armor and weapons. As the old Troopers perished, their replacements were the near-equivalent of the Imperial Storm Troopers, but a daunted military, and political, asset; both within the Cocytus and Antei systems... Antenora is believed to have been the second planet formed in the Cocytus System, shortly after the formation of Judecca, and is the second-closest planet to the System’s star, Imperius. Not long after its formation and the emergence of intelligent life on its surface, the world was invaded by the Rakata, who enslaved the population of people living there, known as the Homoglyphs. The Rakata brought with them human and Jilruan slaves from other conquered planets, who then interbred and gave rise to the Antenorans which currently inhabit the planet. After a plague swept through the planet and severed the Rakata’s connection to the Force, they were almost powerless and the resulting calamity brought about a loss of control of the terraforming machinery that maintained the planet’s climate.  The ozone layer protecting the planet was torn apart and caused the fields of the planet to wither and burn from the harsh glare of Imperius. Due to the tilt in the planet’s axis, the northern continent of Li Gandor was able to escape this devastation.  During the time of Clans, Antenora, with its capital city of Suzel, was the home planet of House Acclivis Draco of Clan Scholae PalatinaeAntenora has two moons in its orbit: Sereia and Ugolino.

Advances made in thermal-graphic and subterranean sensor technologies revealed a hidden wealth of common ores beneath the planet’s surface.  Despite this, the resources below Vassago’s harsh terrain were passed over by mining companies in favor of planets where the raw materials were more easily accessible.  As time progressed, the planet would be claimed by Scholae Palatinae, and was essential to the Clan’s initial developmentOver time, further colonization and budgeting expansion of the planet were put aside until an archaeologist named Armon Venic unearthed a rare metal ore which would come to be known as Venic. With a shimmer and a crystal clear reflection, the material was in demand for use in building as well as jewelry, which renewed Scholae Palatinae’s interest in developing settlements on the planet.

Due to the Imperial nature of the Clan, it is not surprising that it is largely centered on improving itself and expanding its borders, knowledge and prowess. Thus, the borders of Scholae Palatinae are most often closed to outside Clans due to the Clan's natural isolation from outside influence and attacks. This creates a diplomatic quandry as the Clan will most often disregard or blatantly ignore the suggestions from other Clans.

Due to the Imperial nature of the House, it is not surprising that it is largely focused on improving itself and expanding its borders, knowledge and prowess. Thus, the borders of Scholae Palatinae have been less open then others due to the House’s natural isolation from outside influence. This isolated mentality was weakened severely under the reign of Emperor Xen’Mordin Vismorsus who helped orchestrate one of the First Alliances the System had seen in years, while also finally cooling down the major tensions with those whom were once seen as enemies. For the first time, Scholae Palatinae was seen more as a member of the whole of the Brotherhood and not as such a black sheep, who was unwilling to work with anyone.
In fact, it has been suggested that the Clan will only lay down its arms for the highest ranking Dark Councilors: The Herald, Master At Arms, Head Master, Seneschal, Deputy Grand Master and Grand Master. Because of this unwillingness the Clan has found itself as a black sheep without any staunch Allies, but a trio of Enemies, while neutrally aligned to pair of Clans.

Even after years of separation this tension continued. However thanks to the dulling power of time, and the focus of enemies like the Yuuzhan Vong, these feelings have finally faded. The hostilities run to a deep seeded hatred that was spawned with the Royal Clan was once stripped of its clanhood and delegated to serve as a House of Arcona. A series of cruel injustices scarred the members of Scholae Palatinae; however, it gave them the strength to break free from their Masters and claim the honor of being a Clan, once again.

Scholae Palatinae was once aligned with both elements of Satal Keto and Exar Kun; however, with widespread, rampant changes in the infrastructure and tradition of the new Clan, Plagueis, a chasm was birthed between the two Clans. It is believed that Braecen Kaeth still harbors a strong grudge against the Clan he helped birth, who in turn disowned the Son of Plagueis - thus creating a wall, intersecting open communication between the Clans.
The Imperial nature of the Royal House immediately soured relations with this Light Side oriented House. While no interaction has occurred between the two groups, both have made it clear through passive aggressive means, that if given a chance they would gladly clash with each other.

Neutral in the past, Tarentum delivered a major political blow during the Sixth Great Jedi War. This action sent a shockwave through the Royal House and began a time of strife that nearly ripped Scholae Palatinae apart. Due to this, Scholae Palatinae has been incredible cautious in dealing with Tarentum. Efforts to repair relations between the houses have all failed within days.

This event would send a shockwave through the Clan and begin a temporary time of strife that threatened to rip the Clan apart. For these reasons, the member of Scholae Palatinae are still hesitant towards an open, neutral relationship with the members of Tarentum.

Deeply loyal to the ideals of the Empire, any threat to its stability can begin to turn the gears of war. Historically over aggressive, perhaps due to the roots in being Guards to the Reborn Emperor on Byss, Scholae Palatinae will go to any lengths to define the Empire. Loyal and Strong-headed, these traits have lead to troubles for the Royal House on more then one occasion. The overly- aggressive nature has faded over the years, with greater emphasis being put on rational and reasonable approaches to what serves the House best, whether that be combat or diplomatically.
Actions
Overly aggressive, once the gears of war have begun to turn and public opinion has been swayed in the mob's favor, the Members of Clan Scholae Palatinae will unite behind a single banner - going all in - with little, or no, apprehension about the possible short comings of the current course of action.
Aside from defending the Empire when needed, the Royal House is far more prone to sit in haunches and review the current situation of either the Brotherhood or abroad (Imperial Sector, New Republic, etc.). Once a deeper understanding of the situation is obtained and potential weaknesses are found, The Disciples of Palpatine will delve into the conflict with every fiber of being. Nothing is ever attempted half-way; Scholae Palatinae will give its all or not go at all.

Known to isolate itself, Scholae Palatinae has a long history of closing its borders to outside influences at the first sign of trouble – internal or external – and begin the proper course of action that serves the House best. During times of stability, the House has become far more open to the rest of the Brotherhood seeing that there is strength in having allies, even it is to only advance the continuing security of the Empire.

Once a pact of peace has been violated, Members of Scholae Palatinae react immediately with defensive measures and a retaliatory strike to show they are willing to defend themselves. While seen as over-zealous, diplomatic discussions can prevent the call for full on war. While this has drawn the House into direct confrontation several times, the House’s history is far more scattered with small retaliation skirmishes then full on conflicts.

Scholae Palatinae continuously works on advancing itself in various aspects. The three major dynamic aspects the House focuses on are: Character Development, Comradery and House Development.
Actions
Scholae Palatinae continuously finds itself working to advance in three dynamic directions: Clan Advancement, Character Development & Comradery.
* Character Development: The concept of Character Development is two-fold. The first aspect of Character Development is the hope that every member will advance their personal skills and abilities through participation and activity within the Brotherhood. Whether a member strives through competitions, Shadow Academy or gaming – it is the hope they will find their own strengths to build upon and to strengthen areas they are weaker in. The second aspect is that of fictional development where it is the hope that ever member will strive to grow their character history, story and to find a role in the larger fictional community. Over time it is hoped each member will have ample opportunity to explore their character and delve out their personality and behaviors to create a more enriching environment.

* Comradery: Members of the House are expected to continuously foster a family-like environment with their fellow members, within and without of the House. While conflict may arise, it is most often due to the over zealous nature of defending the House that causes it. However, most members recognize appropriate boundaries and maintain a fun environment for everyone. This strong relationship is heavily built through communication via the House E-mailer, IRC and the Forums.
* Comradery: The members of the Clan continuously foster a family-like nature with their fellow members. It is very rare that inside conflict or turmoil pulls at the Clan's strings - In fact, it is most often the case that fellow members are over zealous in the defense of their Clanmates when outside antagonists begin to attack a member. This sort of relationship is strongly built through communication via the Clan E-mailer, Internet-Relay Chat (IRC) and the Clan Conclave.
* Clan Advancement: The combined Clan Leadership in conjunction with the Elders of the Clan (Most of which reside upon the Senate) are tasked with the development and advancement of Scholae Palatinae. This ranges from a series of large and small projects (i.e. Clan History, Planetary Descriptions, etc.), providing mentorship (Envoy & Master/Student Program, Tutelage of Leaders, etc.) and providing stimulating, vigorating competitions (House Feuds, Clan Feuds, Monthly Topics, etc.). The goal is to always make progress, working towards full functionality.
* House Development: The Summit of the House, along with the senior members of the house are tasked with the development and advancement of Scholae Palatinae. This ranges from fictional geared projects (House History, Planetary Descriptions, etc.), providing mentorship (The Master/Student Program, Setting the Example, Active Participation, etc.) and providing vigorating competitions (House Feuds, House Events, Monthly Topics, etc.). The goal is to continually progress the House, increasing activity and developing the fictional stability of Scholae Palatinae.
* Character Development: It is the hope that every member will advance their character through participation, activity and initiative through Clan Scholae Palatinae. Whether a member strives through competitions, Antei Combat Center, Leadership or Gaming - it is the Summit's hope that every member will strive to advance their Character History, Dossier and communication with other characters. This is most generally, though not exclusively, attained through specific competitions, run-ons and in-character discussions/adventures.

Reactions
Reactions
The reactions of the Clan members is largely instinctive and based on the 'actions' that are instilled as a member progresses through the Brotherhood via CSP. It is our hope that members will stand loyal, devout and courageous in the face of adversity... and if they are ever cornered or feel trapped, that they will retreat to the confines of Scholae Palatinae for protection, advice or criticism.
The reactions of House Members are largely instinctive and based on the 'actions' that are instilled as a member progresses in the Brotherhood. It is our hope that members will stand loyal, devout and courageous in the face of adversity, and if they ever feel cornered or trapped, that they have a group of friends that is Scholae Palatinae that they can return to for protection and advice. In truth it is expected that every member of the Brotherhood should feel welcomed and never antagonized by Scholae Palatinae, with the ideas of brotherhood extending not just to the House, but through all houses and their members.

If a member violates the Code of Conduct, however, they will be punished. Right action is considered the core principle of being a member. Whenever a member violates this Code, it will be acted upon by the Clan Leaders - though the level of correction will be oft based on the individual's sincerity.

In short, Disciples of Palpatine will not rise (or stoop) to their antagonists, unless those individuals are grievously violating the core principle - right action - that the Clan holds dearly. This bond is attained through sincere interest and devotion to one's self, House, Clan and the Brotherhood. All of which is attained through the comradery and friendships that are forged within the Clan.

Brief History

Scholae Palatinae has seen the whole spectrum of stability. A long-standing history of betrayal, intrigue, and behind the curtain dealings have been over shadowed by the strong sense of tradition that still rings true. There have been times of darkness and despair where it seemed Scholae Palatinae would fall for good. Yet there have been times of prosperity, the Golden Ages, in which the strong traditions overwhelmed personal gain and the members came together to bring amazing amounts of progress and success.

Complete History: House Scholae Palatinae

Government and Politics

Government of a System

The Royal Rule

Monarchy – a form of government in which there is one absolute ruler, the head of state, the king or in case of the Cocytus System, Emperor.

Grand Dukes/Duchesses

The lowest levels of government are the regions on the individual planets and moons. Each of the inhabited planet and moon of the Cocytus System is regionalized based on the numbers of Nobility, total population, and economic output. Each region is under the direct supervision of a Grand Duke/Duchess. These are often local members of the nobility, who are left unawares of the existence of the Brotherhood.

Kings/Queens

Over the Grand Dukes/Duchesses are the Kings/Queens – rulers of the planets of the Cocytus System.

Emperor/Empress

The Structure as viewed by inhabitants of the Cocytus System is: Emperor/Empress > Kings/Queens > Grand Dukes/Duchesses

Tyranny – absolute rule of a leader through unrestrained exercise of power.

The Tyrants of Scholae Palatinae:

 • Karva The Ceaseless
 • Timbal The Relentless
 • Dakari The Merciless
 • Braecen The Heartless
 • Phoenix The Ruthless
 • Lucien The Fearless

Economy

Overview

It is Inter-stellar trade that makes up another large portion of the economy, particularly of the systems technological advancements and cutting-edge science. The largest consumer and greatest trade partner of the Cocytus System are the denizens of the Antei System, which accounts for 88% of exports and 33% of imports.

Exports

 • Technology (Weapons, Energy, Propulsion)
 • Experimental Science (Advanced Gravity Studies, Applied Physics, Dynamic Anatomy)
 • Natural Resources (Wood, Crude Oil, Duracrete, Water)

Imports

 • Food (Exotic meats, Sensitive Vegetation)
 • High Grade Ore (Ditanium, Tritanium, Cortosis)
 • Advanced Weaponry (Targeting Systems, Missile Production)

Society and Culture

The Societal Element

In days past, each member had a dual societal identity, that of the Clan and that of the three great houses. With the dissolvement of the Clans led to the integral identity of each of the three houses to broken.

House Scholae Palatinae

Main article: Scholae Palatinae

The Royal House

Scholae Palatinae is built upon the foundations of the Great Empire and the ideals set forth by Emperor Palpatine. The group remains devout to the teachings of the Dark Jedi – letting passion and emotion direct actions and the manipulation of the Force. Members see themselves as a Disciple of the Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Sidious, and are dedicated to his work: bringing order and control to the galaxy. To accomplish this they work continually to become outstanding warriors, mystical Force users and phenomenal pilots.

Acclivis Draco

The Scholars of the Dragon

Acclivis Draco, home of the Rising Dragon, holds a long and proud tradition and history within Scholae Palatinae. For many years Acclivis Draco was the strong arm of activity and host to phenomenal Krath writers and innovators that enabled Scholae Palatinae to be seen as a fictional stronghold. It was based in the Dragons Citadel on Antenora. After the call from the Dark Council to strike clanship brotherhood wide, Acclivis Draco was forced to close its door and leave many to still hold to its ideals and legacy.

Caliburnus

The Children of the Sword

It is named for the legendary blade thought to be the first Lightsaber in existence. Originally Sith in the first days of Clan Scholae Palatinae, it disappeared as Dorimad Sol assumed responsibility as the Defenders of Scholae Palatinae. However, this would last and Caliburnus returned to reclaim its honor. After a feud between the two groups, Caliburnus emerged successful. Forged from the heat of battle it was home to the proudest warriors and generals in Scholae Palatinae. As time would go on, its role moved to intelligence gathering to maintain the security of the House.

Dorimad Sol

The First to Battle, The Last to Retreat

Named in honor of a great duelist, Dorimad Sol was originally home of the Obelisks in Scholae Palatinae. They were tasked with keeping the system safe until over taken by Caliburnus in the rites of combat. Dorimad Sol was removed from the sections of Scholae Palatinae until the reign of Braecen Kaeth & Phoenix Olkyssagh Palpatine. Dorimad Sol was reopened with the intent of removing the Yuuzhan Vong from the system. As the soldiers on the front line Dorimad Sol proved their worth once again. With House Scholae Palatinae, Dorimad Sol would move on to become a training unit, preparing the new faces of Scholae Palatinae’s forces.

Nightstalkers

Main article: Nightstalkers

Swift Death from the Shadows

Nightstalkers is a small elite commando unit. With roots tracing back to the Emperor’s Hammer, it was disbanded in 22 ABY. Following the striking loss at Salas V, Scholae Palatinae ordered a refocus for the elite warriors of the House. Nightstalkers reformed to provide the experienced warriors of the House a home to further focus their skills and maintain stability system-wide and on the battle field with future skirmishes between the houses.

The Cultural Element

The Culture of Scholae Palatinae has diversified since its initial conception as a Clan in the Brotherhood. Countless members have come and gone in the house, each pushing the traditional boundaries of the Dark Side, exploiting new facets of the essence of the galaxy. Collectively, this spectrum of interpretations of teachings are known as The Dark Paths of Scholae Palatinae.

In addition to widespread developmental studies of the Dark Side, a complex behavioral culture of active role models has bloomed into fruition. Those who exemplify the highest ideals of this culture are granted one of the highest honors of the House: Recognition as a Dark Paladin.

The Dark Paths

Main article: The Dark Paths of Scholae Palatinae

As the Royal House has grown and developed, there have been several shifts in the traditional paradigms of how the members utilize the Force. Thus a continuous debate of 'how' the Force is meant to be used has developed; however, no path is restricted. While some study the purity of the source, others enhance the art of war, while others still expound of the philosophy of the Force. No technique is more powerful than another, as each presents a select range of skills. In the end, each member must find their own path, either in the footsteps of those who came before or forging their own to be empowered to serve the Darkness.

The Dark Paladins

Main article: Dark Paladins of Scholae Palatinae

Chosen by the Quaestor as the Emperor of the Cocytus System, the Dark Paladins are amongst the most outstanding members of the House. They serve as the example all others should strive to be. The embodiment of high activity and House ethos, these revered members are an elite fraternity given the honor and responsibility to uphold the values of Scholae Palatinae. In times of war, these Paladins are tasked with either individual missions or sent to the front lines as wartime Officers.

The Titles of Nobility

Main article: Scholae Palatinae Titles of Nobility

Scholae Palatinae, the Royal House through heritage and history, has a strong grip on the Cocytus System. As the leaders of rulers of this Royal Hierarchy, Scholae Palatinae has followed the ideals of royal rule. As such each member of Scholae Palatinae has the right to royal titles of nobility. These are initially award at Knighthood, where based on the merit of their actions members receive honor points to earn new levels of Nobility and the privileges that go along with them. These titles are derived from the culture of Scholae Palatinae’s home world of Judecca.

Military

Main article: Scholae Palatinae Military

The military of the Cocytus System is broken into three elements: Militia, The Fleet, and The Legions. Each branch is highly regarded for their skills in warfare; though, each element is uniquely different in the way it is deployed and managed. As a combined force, they are designated The Military of Scholae Palatinae. Based on Imperial rule and tradition, the divisible elements can be positioned and commanded with greater ease.

Presiding as Overlord of the Legions & House Fleet is the Emperor’s Right-Hand: The Grand Marshal. This is the highest rank one can attain within the Military, short of being the Emperor himself, and is seen as the Chief Military Expert and Leader within the Cocytus System.

Militia

The standing Army of each planet is entrusted to their Field Marshal, who answers to the planets King or Queen. The Field Marshal is entrusted with ten legions of common soldiers. These are warriors who have signed into a professional army but not committed themselves to the true armies of the Royal Legions. Thus, they are capable but still hold reservations about open warfare. The largest standing order of the Militia is to step up whenever the local police forces are overwhelmed, leaving the Naval Forces and Legions free to execute the Emperor’s bidding.

Elements of Militia

The most fundamental element within the Militia is the cohort: a grouping of one hundred (100) soldiers. The exception is the First Cohort, whom is under the direct control of the Legion’s Commanding Officer. This cohort is larger than the standard cohorts; standing double the standard 100-soldier element. When the First cohort is joined with the additional cohorts it becomes designated as a Legion of Cocytus (or their respective homeworld; i.e. Legion of Antenora). Command of multiple Legions is the Field Marshal. This Officer is tasked with the maintenance, recruitment, outfitting and direction of no less than five (5), one thousand (1000) soldier Legions.

Organization of a Militia Legion

 • Legion: 1000 Troops
 • Cohort: 100 Troops
 • Century: 50 Troops
 • Contubernium: 10 Troops

The Need for Militia

A standing militia was found on each planet prior to the Yuuzhan Vong invasion as a token, or ceremonial, guard of the acting Planetary Ruler. However, following the Reclamation of the Cocytus System, the new rulers were ordered – the then Consul Pheonix Olkyssagh d’Tana Palpatine – to maintain a standing Army at all times. With these additional troops, armed and trained, the Legions of Scholae Palatinae would be free to act when the time came.

Purpose of the Militia Legions:

 • Bolsters military depth during times of Galactic War
 • Tasked with providing support to local law enforcement in maintaining Law and Order
 • Commanded by the Field Marshal or King/Queen of a Planet

Chain of Command

While the standing armies, or Militia, of each planet falls under the direction of the planetary ruler – the King or Queen – the Emperor and his Grand Marshal remain the superior officers. In addition to the Emperor and Grand Marshal, the Surface Marshal and their Judge also remain above the Field Marshal in the Chain of Command.

Militia Chain of Command:

 • Emperor
 • Grand Marshal
 • Surface Marshal
 • Judge
 • Field Marshal
 • Legion Commander

The Fleet of Scholae Palatinae

Main article: The Fleet of Scholae Palatinae

The Naval Forces of the Cocytus System fall under a modified Imperial Navy protocol. The modification allows for the respective leaders, or appointed Officers, to issue commands that would – under normal circumstances – be outside the Chain of Command. Due to their minute size – in comparison to a Galactic Empire Fleet – the Captains of the presiding vessels of establish a Chain of Command based on the strategic value of their Capital Ship.

Chain of Command

The Naval Chain of Command:

 • Emperor
 • Grand Marshal
 • Dark Paladin
 • Surface Marshal
 • Judge
 • Fleet Admiral
 • Ship Captain

While a loose hierarchy has been established by the individual commanders of the House Fleet, it is roughly based on the military value or rank of the ship they command. Thus the Captain of the Excidium II rules the Navy de facto – if removed from the regular Chain of Command. This hierarchy is utilized when the ships are unable to get orders from the Clan Fleet Admiral, Grand Marshal or Emperor.

The Naval Chain of Command:

Scholae Palatinae Corps

{Main|Scholae Palatinae Corps}}

There is a distinct element to space combat that can either ensure the success or failure of a battle plan. This lies in the strategy, effectiveness and overall preparation of starfighter pilots. It is through the grit and determination of these fighter elements that a battle can sway from desperation to a legendary feat.

The Scholae Palatinae Corps was created in an effort to ensure the continued success of the House’s Naval Forces during the reformation of the Fleet. At the insistence of then Proconsul Pheonix Olkyssagh Palpatine, and then Quaestor of Caliburnus, Thran Occasus, the Corps were created under the rule of Consul Braecen Kaeth. It was dictated that they would co-op with the Naval Forces, but maintain an elusive identity of their own.

The best candidates were then accepted in the Academy upon Judecca and trained to handle a vast array of flight duties. The Cadets were often forced to fly mundane missions or transport personnel; however, once they had paid their dues, there were inducted into full flight status. Upon attainment of flight status, an individual is then transferred to one of the Fighter Corps elements and assigned a ship.

Chain of Command

Retaining an elusive identity, while coordinating with Naval Forces, strains the normal requirements of the Chain of Command. In an effort to remove concerns, and questions, about whom’s orders to follow in combat, the following structure was set in place.

The Corps Chain of Command:

 • Emperor
 • Grand Marshal
 • Fleet Commander
 • Corps Commander
 • Division Commander
 • Wing Commander

Legions of Scholae Palatinae

Main article: Legions of Scholae Palatinae

The members of Scholae Palatinae share a common ancestry, or at least roots, to those whom served the Reborn Emperor on Byss as his Force-Adept Guardians – blunt tools to execute his will. To augment what this forces lacked in numbers, the Emperor awarded them command of thousands of Storm Troopers (The Legions of Scholae Palatinae) to assist in the execution of his machinations.

When the Reborn Emperor and his Adepts fell, the Scholae Palatinae – with the Storm Troopers in tow – departed into the Outer Rim. Without resources and stable leadership, this force found its way into the Dark Brotherhood and become of its integral parts in the pursuit of the Final Way. For Countless years, Scholae Palatinae would use its military might to subjugate star systems and influence the outcome of battles in the Brotherhood.

Organization of the Legions

Only the strongest of warriors can enlist as soldiers of the Scholae Palatinae Legions – generally being trained for multiple years and given the highest grade of military armor and weapons. As the old Troopers perished, their replacements were the near-equivalent of the Imperial Storm Troopers, but a daunted military, and a political asset; both within the Cocytus and Antei Systems. The Legions of Scholae Palatinae, a force to be feared and respected.

Organization of the Legions:

 • Squad: 9 Troops
 • Platoon: 38 Troops
 • Company 152 Troops
 • Legion
 • Regiment
 • Battlegroup
 • Army

Chain of Command

The number of enlisted troops fluctuates from fifteen thousand (15,00) to sixty thousand (60,000) military-ready soldiers that have been given an assignment within the Palace Guard’s Army. The original standard was maintained until the Yuuzhan Vong occupation of the Cocytus System, where each Legion numbered near a thousand (1,000) warriors and was broken into military standards; though, the number of elements and the amount of soldiers was based on the exact number of Officers available to command. Once the Reclamations from Vong rule of the Cocytus System were complete, the newly appointed Emperor – Phoenix Olkyssagh d’Tana Palpatine – sought to bolder his forces to prevent future invasions. The exact numbers are still in flux as Scholae Palatinae scours the galaxy, recruiting warriors from all walks of life.

Legion Chain of Command:

 • Emperor
 • Grand Marshal
 • Surface Marshal
 • Judge
 • Commanding Officer of a Regiment

Astrography

Judecca

Main article: Judecca

Judecca, based in the Cocytus System, is the home planet of Scholae Palatinae and its capital city is Ohmen. It is thought to have been the first planet formed in the System after its star, Imperius, was formed and it has a temperate climate with varying geographic features. The native species of Judecca refer to themselves as Syrei. Its major imports are weaponry, food, and various ores. Its major exports include education, ancient artifacts, and various exotic items. Judecca has three moons in its orbit: Brutus, Cassius, and Judas.

Antenora

Main article: Antenora

During the time of Clans, Antenora, with its capital city of Suzel, was the home planet of House Acclivis Draco of Clan Scholae Palatinae. Antenora has two moons in its orbit: Sereia and Ugolino.

Caina

Main article: Caina

Caina, the third planet in the Cocytus System, is an arctic wasteland of a world. Despite the cold temperatures and glacial geography, Caina was rich in natural resources, having been chartered as a mining colony during both the Old Republic and the reign of Emperor Palpatine. The planet proved profitable on both occasions, and the ore which was mined had been rumored to have an abnormal ability to resist blaster fire when treated properly, a discovery which was documented by Kuat Drive Yards. After pirate activity increased in the area and was fought back by the Empire’s forces, the value of this ore decreased significantly, to the point where it held little economical value. The Empire pulled its forces out and left the colony in disarray until it was rediscovered by Dark Jedi from Scholae Palatinae, who claimed it as part of their dominion. Thus the planet of Caina, with the capital city of Daemon, became the home to House Dorimad Sol under the banner of Scholae Palatinae. Caina has ten moons in its orbit which are known as the Bolgia Satellites: Alechino, Barbicca, Cagnazza, Calcebryna, Farefalla, Grafficane, Malacoda, Malebolge, Rubicanne, and Scarmilyone.

Ptolomea

Main article: Ptolomea

Ptolomea is the last planet in a chain of rocky worlds which make up the Cocytus System. The planet’s surface was originally covered in ice and rock. Seemingly by chance, the global temperature began to rise and, over time, caused plant life to spring forth from its previously frozen rocky soil, resulting in dense jungles covering the face of the planet. The passage of time eventually found the planet to be settled by human or human-like beings whose societies rose and fell throughout time, leaving behind many statues, temples, and other works as proof of their existence. Dark Jedi from Scholae Palatinae stumbled onto the planet at some point and would decide to claim it as theirs. With the capital city of Almagast, Ptolomea was the home of House Caliburnus. Ptolomea has three moons in its orbit: Albergio, Barbatos, and Zanche.

Iblis

Main article: Iblis

Iblis is a gas giant located within the Cocytus System under the dominion of Scholae Palatinae. Due to its nature as a gas giant, Iblis’ surface is uninhabitable. Thin rings which encircle the planet are home to asteroids that contain four mining outposts, of which Fauzir and Theron are the most profitable, that provide ores and fuel as exports. Iblis has a cluster of eight moons in its orbit: Astaroth, Gressil, Marchosias, Nemea, Vetis, Zepar, Zepar I, and Zepar II. It should be noted that Zepar I and Zepar II are an asteroid and a comet, respectively, which are caught in the gravitational pull of the moon Zepar.

Vassago

Main article: Vassago

Vassago is a moonless planet located within the Cocytus System under the dominion of Scholae Palatinae. The planet has been a barren world with treacherous terrain and a lack of sentient inhabitants for much of its life. Advances made in thermal-graphic and subterranean sensor technologies revealed a hidden wealth of common ores beneath the planet’s surface. Despite this, the resources below Vassago’s harsh terrain were passed over by mining companies in favor of planets where the raw materials were more easily accessible. As time progressed, the planet would be claimed by Scholae Palatinae, and was essential to the Clan’s initial development. Over time, further colonization and budgeting expansion of the planet were put aside until an archaeologist named Armon Venic unearthed a rare metal ore which would come to be known as Venic. With a shimmer and a crystal clear reflection, the material was in demand for use in building as well as jewelry, which renewed Scholae Palatinae’s interest in developing settlements on the planet.

Allies and Enemies

Allies

House Plagueis

At one point in the distant past, Scholae Palatinae was aligned with the Clans of Satal Keto and Exar Kun. However when these two units fused into a vastly different Clan, Plagueis, a chasm was birthed between the two groups. However over time this chasm has closed with the Royal House and the Ascendant House once again tentatively opened an alliance. It is more then fitting that the Disciples of Plagueis and Palpatine would be brought together.

Neutral

House Arcona

In the past, Arcona was the sworn enemy of Scholae Palatinae. This stemmed from the time when Scholae Palatinae was forced to serve as a unit of Arcona. Even after years of separation this tension continued. However thanks to the dulling power of time, and the focus of enemies like the Yuuzhan Vong, these feelings have finally faded. While in a state of half-truce, it remains to be seen if this peace will last.

House Naga Sadow

Once strong allies, relations between Scholae Palatinae and Naga Sadow have greatly cooled over the years. Following the Brotherhood Civil War, the two groups entered a neutral stance, with no real efforts being made to renew the former bonds.

House Revan

Interactions with Revan have been kept to a minimum since House Revan was created in 30 ABY. Scholae Palatinae found the effort Revan put into winning the conflict on Salas V, but remained hesitant from opening relations with the House.

House Taldryan

The Royal House has always set its eyes on taking down the most dominating House of the Brotherhood. However, this goal has always been one of respect and not hostility. The professional manner in which Taldryan has conducted itself and managed to be such a dominant force served as the goal Scholae Palatinae wanted to be able to surpass. Personal differences and views of superiority have prevented any real alliance from being formed.

Enemies

House Odan-Urr

The Imperial nature of the Royal House immediately soured relations with this Light Side oriented House. While no interaction has occurred between the two groups, both have made it clear through passive aggressive means, that if given a chance they would gladly clash with each other.

House Tarentum

Neutral in the past, Tarentum delivered a major political blow during the Sixth Great Jedi War. This action sent a shockwave through the Royal House and began a time of strife that nearly ripped Scholae Palatinae apart. Due to this, Scholae Palatinae has been incredible cautious in dealing with Tarentum. Efforts to repair relations between the houses have all failed within days.

Typical House Actions and Reactions

Fictional

Actions

Deeply loyal to the ideals of the Empire, any threat to its stability can begin to turn the gears of war. Historically over aggressive, perhaps due to the roots in being Guards to the Reborn Emperor on Byss, Scholae Palatinae will go to any lengths to define the Empire. Loyal and Strong-headed, these traits have lead to troubles for the Royal House on more then one occasion. The overly- aggressive nature has faded over the years, with greater emphasis being put on rational and reasonable approaches to what serves the House best, whether that be combat or diplomatically.

Reactions

Real Life

Actions

Scholae Palatinae continuously works on advancing itself in various aspects. The three major dynamic aspects the House focuses on are: Character Development, Comradery and House Development.

 • Character Development: The concept of Character Development is two-fold.
 • Comradery: Members of the House are expected to continuously foster a family-like environment with their fellow members, within and without of the House. While conflict may arise, it is most often due to the over zealous nature of defending the House that causes it. However, most members recognize appropriate boundaries and maintain a fun environment for everyone. This strong relationship is heavily built through communication via the House E-mailer, IRC and the Forums.
 • House Development: The Summit of the House, along with the senior members of the house are tasked with the development and advancement of Scholae Palatinae.

Reactions

Whenever a member violates this Code, punishment will be given though the level of correction will often be based upon the individual’s sincerity.

It is expected that Siciples of Palpatine will not rise (or stoop) to their antagonists, unless those individuals are violating the core principle of right action, which is held dearly by the House. This bond is attained through sincere interest and devotion to one’s self, House, and the Brotherhood. All of which is attained through the comradery and respect, which is forged in the House.
