The Arconan Armed Forces, more commonly known as AAF, is the organization that encompasses all of Arcona's military forces. Currently Arcona's forces are arranged into two fleets. The First Fleet, including House Galeres, and the Second Fleet, including House Qel-Droma. Forces are split fairly evenly among the two, though the First Fleet currently has more fighters and army units due to the prescence of the clan flagship. The smallest and most secretive branch is the Dajorra Intelligence Agency, a close-knit group in charge of special operations and intelligence.
There is also a large amount of troops charged with defending the Dajorra System at all times.
Until 36ABY, the Defense Force was charged with policing and defending the Dajorra System, and was the largest branch of the armed forces. The Expeditionary Force handled all operations carried out beyond the system, answering to all external threats. These fleets were abolished between the events of Horizons and the Dark Crusade.
History
The AAF was conceived as the supreme military organization, overseeing its three branches with ultimate authority, following the debacle at the Battle of Antei in 27 ABY.
While the vast majority of the forces are troops stationed throughout the Dajorra system and concentrated on the core planets of Eldar and Selen, there are a lot of personnel dedicated to patrolling Dajorra and venturing out to interact with other Clans and organizations. The Consul is the final authority on the armed forces' policies and operations, but has a myriad of Dark Jedi advisers and fleet officers charged with directing the AAF on a daily basis.
Organization
The AAF is organized into three main groups, with additional army units assigned to defend each Dajorran planet.
The First Fleet, led by the clan flagship, the Eye of the Abyss II also comprises House Galeres through its cruiser, the Darkest Night. House Qel-Droma, and its own ship, the Shadow, operate from the Second Fleet, which is led by the Invicta, a Nebula-class Star Destroyer. Both of these fleets operate inside and outside of Dajorra, sometimes coming together for larger operations that require greater numbers from the AAF.
The Dajorra Intelligence Agency comprises the handful of agents that are in charge of intelligence and special operations.
The AAF is generally run on a day-to-day basis by the Commodores and Intelligence Director, who act as the authorities in their respective branches and answer only to the Consul. However, especially during times of crisis, the Consul will step in and steer certain branches in the direction of his choosing. He also reserves the right to replace the branch commanders at will.
