Black Tide Squadron is one of three squadrons operating from the BAC Darkest Night, a squad capable of carrying out nearly any general operation or mission for Arcona. It is part of the Arcona Expeditionary Force Wing II. It is under the command of Sanguinius Tsucyra Entar. Due to losses suffered during Horizons, the squadron was inactive between 36 ABY and 38 ABY, due to a lack of fighters available.
History
Black Tide Squadron was founded by Proconsul Sashar Arconae following the Eighth Great Jedi War, or the Yuuzhan Vong Incursion. Dark Sight is one of the most illustrious and daring teams stationed on the Darkest Night, both for the roles it played in the House Feud against House Galeres and for the perfectly executed extraction of Soulfire Strike Team on Reecee.
Not one of the more reliable squads during Galeres' history, the Black Tide has been reconstructed several times, usually falling apart due to bad leadership and mutiny. As well as having issues in the past with sabotage and an inability to follow orders. Yet when they manage to pull together they happen to be an irreplaceable ally.
Many commanders have made an attempt to control the Black Tide squad, however none have been so successful as the Togruta, Zy Tier. With an iron fist and brutality that demands respect and obedience, he has in the last few years, managed to give the squad a fierce and respected reputation. A reputation which has not been accorded this squad previously.
As a brutal but respected leader, he is unable to find any good help these days and has gone through several Seconds. Most of those questioned him or became far too ambitious, he personally removed them. The current second in command has only been in the position for a few months, Ryl Tier, the Commander’s younger half-brother. He has shown a great aptitude for not only leading, but following his older sibling’s orders as well. Although not very skilled in strategy, he makes up for it by inspiring loyalty from the squadron members.
Still to this date Black Tide is found in the midst of heavy combat, they normally protect the BAC Darkest Night from incoming fighters. Yet they also fight off bomber squadrons that would see damage done to the Galeres flagship. After being reshuffled and proving themselves time and time again, they were recently outfitted with XJ X-Wings as a reward and to this day serve as a dedicated squadron aboard the Darkest Night.
Mission
Black Tide Squadron is one of the three squadrons assigned to the BAC Darkest Night in the Arcona Expeditionary Fleet, and their primary role in the Fleet is to be the versatile fighters capable of carrying out any mission for the House. Each starfighter is trained to provide a variety of services in combat, both support, attack, and defend.
Action
Black Tide Squadron was recently involved in the events of the Dark Crusade and as such were deployed from the BAC Darkest Night in hopes to achieve victory over the other clans and houses of the brotherhood. Many months passed but with each victory and each defeat, the squadron became a stronger and closer unit then ever before.

Black Tide Squadron pilots use XJ X-Wings with the logo of Clan Arcona on the left and House Galeres on the right.
The starfighters have great shield capacity, great maneuverability, and a high sublight acceleration. They also carriy 9 proton torpedoes with exceptional targeting computers and an increased charge. These fighters greatly outclass the older X-Wing models, making them a deadly force to be reckoned with in space combat.
