| The Herald serves as the Emissary of the Dark Council and the public ambassador for the Antei Sector. In may ways, the Herald is the public face of the [[Dark Brotherhood]], liaising with outside parties to preserve and protect the secret of our organization. The Herald is also one of the main liaisons between the [[Dark Council]] and the [[Clan]]s and is rarely seen at the [[Dark Hall]], always away on business elsewhere. | | The Herald is tasked by the Grand Master with ensuring or otherwise securing the allegiance of the various Clans of the Brotherhood. Serving as an emissary to the Clans on behalf of the Grand Master and Dark Council, the Herald employs a Diplomatic Service with a presence across the galaxy and within each Clan. Tasked with spreading the influence and relations across the galaxy, the Herald is also in contact with bounty hunters and criminal syndicates across the galaxy as well. |

Revision as of 00:04, 2 December 2016
Herald (HRLD)—Herald is both an administrative and architectural position. The day-to-day affairs of the Herald involve the development of Warbanners, Lightsabers, Weapons and Robes for members as they achieve the appropriate ranks. This important function allows members to gain some level of control over their own characters. However, the more important aspect of the Herald’s position comes in their work on graphics throughout the Brotherhood. The Herald is the Brotherhood’s primary image consultant and lead graphics designer, though their responsibilities also include keeping the aesthetic qualities of the website professional, modern and attractive to all audiences worldwide. The Herald works constantly to keep the Brotherhood graphics up-to-date and standard-driven. Their work is often performed behind-the-scenes, but it is seen daily across the whole Brotherhood.
The current Herald is Malfearak Asvraal.

- Editor of the Dark Voice
- Providing Star Wars related news
- Administration of the Star Wars Gaming Network website.
- Responsible for ensuring a proper fictional background exists for Brotherhood families sometimes with the assistance of the Master at Arms
- Develops and maintains policies and procedures on family Grants of Arms that dictate where they may be displayed and who may display them in addition to other pertinent information
The Requisition Limit
The Requisition Limit policy (unofficially known as Vorsa's Law among the Herald's staff) establishes the cooldown time between requests as well as how long a request can stay in the queue before expiring. A member of the Dark Brotherhood may therefore request only a certain number of Custom weapons and/or Warbanners in a certain time period. Any requests submitted before the allotted time has expired will be auto-denied.
This time period is:
Request expiration is rare, but it happens. Once a staff member has contacted the requesting member, if they do not hear from them within 30 days of sending the initial e-mail, they will mark the request as expired so that the queue may remain clear. The member will have to re-request after this period.
Important note: A request must be fulfilled before it can count towards this policy. A request unfulfilled due to any reason (member mistakenly submitted wrong data, asked for removal of request, or expiration) does not count as a request fulfilled. However a member who deliberately spams the request form may be permanently banned from requests altogether. Consider your choices carefully.
The Requisition Limit was placed under effect by V'yr Vorsa on 10/01/2015.
Fictional Role
The Herald is tasked by the Grand Master with ensuring or otherwise securing the allegiance of the various Clans of the Brotherhood. Serving as an emissary to the Clans on behalf of the Grand Master and Dark Council, the Herald employs a Diplomatic Service with a presence across the galaxy and within each Clan. Tasked with spreading the influence and relations across the galaxy, the Herald is also in contact with bounty hunters and criminal syndicates across the galaxy as well.
The Herald is tasked by the Grand Master with as much oversight and management as possible in dealing with galactic criminals. This ensures protection and harbor to those looking to deal in illicit goods in Brotherhood space in exchange for connections and an additional source of income. This also comes with the oversight of a criminal syndicate not wholly part of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood but nonetheless heavily influenced.

Obsolete Policies
Rule of Three
The Rule of Three was a policy created to limit numerous request in order to dedicate more time to other requests, as well as projects assigned to the Herald’s Staff from the Grand Master. The Rule of Three states that a member may request up to 3 times for a warbanner or custom lightsaber, (rank permitting), under the following rank groups:
- Guardian / Jedi Hunter
- Dark Jedi Knight / Equite 1
- Equite 2 / Equite 3
- Equite 4
- Elder
- Grand Master
Once a member has reached their maximum number of requests per item and rank, they cannot request until they reach they next bracket. Any requests that come in after that point will be denied immediately.
- The Rule of Three was placed under effect by Shikyo Keibatsu, Tyren Atema, and Jeric Cyrin on 6/5/2008.
- The Rule of Three was retired by Herald V'yr Vorsa on 10/01/2015.
