- "In peace, vigilance"
- ―House motto
House Hoth is one of two Houses representing Clan Odan-Urr.
Modern Restoration
As war with the Collective waged on and the conflicts with The Brotherhood drifted further into the annals of history, with several Odanites joining The Dark Council, many members of Clan Odan-Urr grew to see The Iron Throne as an ally instead of a potential enemy. Each time a conflict raged on which drew on The Brotherhood's forces, Odan-Urr dedicated their own military forces, much to the chagrin of the most scrutinous members of the Council, who continued to wait for the knife in their back to twist. As the Scions of House Sunrider began to espouse the potential upsides of joining forces with the other factions of The Brotherhood, beyond just Clan Arcona and the handful of Lotus aligned figures, fractures within began to form. This ultimately led to an arrangement from several high-ranking Councilors seeking an audience with Empress Kaltani Anasaye and a Conclave Majority (excluding House Sunrider) to seek Patents Nobility for a reformed House Hoth, to act on equal footing to House Sunrider, whom they felt no longer represented the values of all members of their peoples equally.
Following weeks of deliberation, during which Conclave members initially present were fiercely instructed to maintain silence on the matter, the Empress granted their request as well as an estate claim on Daleem, Pernicar Manor, from which they could conduct themselves as they saw fit, while aiding the Vatali Imperial efforts to reclaim and colonize the planet, alongside the other Royal Houses.
The Empress' swift acceptance and ascension of House Hoth has become a point of contention among Odanite Leadership, but has also been seen by some as a way to openly address grievances, instead of letting them linger in the shadows and create a spectre of doubt within the Clan.
Pre-Restoration History
House Hoth was founded late into 32 ABY following Odan-Urr's elevation to clan status, with Daniel Stephens and Revak Kur selected as its overall leaders. The unit was to serve as Odan-Urr's militant arm, training Jedi and paramilitary members of Odan-Urr for operations in all environments. With the jungles, desert, deep oceans, and arctic environments nearby, the decision was made to locate the House on the continent of Kamuikiko, south of Jomesh and the Dark Jungle.
Founded on the coastline of Kamuikiko, the House took the abandoned ruins of a gladiatorial style arena as its home. Dubbing the facility Fort Pernicar, the newly founded clan expanded the area by tunneling into the cliffside and beneath the arena itself. The decision was a strategic one as much as a pragmatic choice, as this permitted combat the threat of hostile Harakoan natives that had begun to raid and pillage nearby settlements. Shortly after this founding, these raids rapidly escallated, leading to The Butcher of Kamuekiko crisis, which would haunt it for the better part of a year. It was revealed that a number of the more hostile Harakoan tribes were being manipulated by the "Seer" Keylara into waging war against human settlers. This conflict would rage across the provinces under Hoth's protection for several months. While this threat was ended despite the scale of the conflict requiring massed military engagements and a notable loss of Harakoan lives, it was contained and prevented from becoming a holy crusade.
Though favouring those of a more militant disposition, House Hoth would maintain a period of relative stability after the Butcher was brought to justice. Expanding and solidifying its position, the House was able to establish the Knights of Allusis as its primary Battle Team. The group would prove critical to multiple engagements across the following years, especially in a series of conflicts against an elite mercenary team known as Alpha's Omega. This would allow them to play a critical role in the reclamation of New Tython from Cy Thuron's New Dawn government after the ruling powers of the planet were usurped by the humanocentric regime, and in ensuring that key figures survived the conflict to assist with rebuilding efforts.
Despite success after success, the efforts of House Hoth - and by extension Clan Odan-Urr - were soon erased. Seeking to finish what his predecessor started and guided by his own warped sense of purity, Grand Master Pravus invaded and destroyed New Tython in an act of paranoia-fuelled genocide. While thousands were able to escape the planet, millions were lost in the firestorm, and the Clan found itself surviving on whatever resources they had been able to scavenge from their world. With a fleet of battered ships in desperate need of repair and several of the Clan's leaders dead, they eventually found a new home in the Kiast System. House Hoth was permitted to establish a base of operations on Solyiat's frozen continent of Trepus, where they quickly began to establish a new base of operations in a former mining facility.
With the establishment of new fortifications, Clan Odan-Urr opted to a series of mock invasions and test battles pitting each House against the other. These were developed with the intent of better preparing the Clan to oppose future battles across the surface of their new home, along with opposing the tactics utilized by their enemies. While the conflict would prove to be close, and House Shan succeeded in accomplishing a number of secondary goals, House Hoth was able to emerge victorious on both major engagements.
Certain of its own capabilities, Hoth would take this time to better familiarize itself with its new home and better establish its presence on the continent. Several scouting efforts were made to explore the region, although neither primary effort accomplished much beyond confirming the hostility of the local wildlife and the risks presented by certain reptile species. While this proved to ultimately be a failure, other efforts would see far more success. Of note, the forging of The Scimitar of Lord Hoth would establish a major House competition, and serve to focus its members on improving themselves while building ties of unity between its varied members. A short time after this, a new Battle Team would be founded under the name of The Wildcards with the intended role of operating relatively out of sight and acting as an operations group with plausible deniability for Odan-Urr as a whole. The group would liberate the Idiot's Array from the Black Sun while docked at the Godless Matron, and go on to establish it as their personal base of operations.
Over the next several years, House Hoth would focus upon various peacekeeping actions in order to secure their territories. In the time between major operations, its anti-piracy actions served as a means to provide a degree of stability during and between the wars, along with countering Collective influences among their worlds. One of the last among these saw Hoth initiating a single massed strike against the former Collective stronghold of Nancora, where remnants of their fleets had regrouped to rearm and repair their damaged ships. Having enslaved much of the local population, the Collective was keeping control through the threat of violence and rebuilding the ruined Axio City to assist in this endeavor. Hoth's forces infiltrated the city, weakening its defences and ensuring the success of amassed rioting once the JTF fleet arrived to finish the orbiting ships. The operation proved to be a staggering victory, not only resulting in the capture of multiple Collective officers, but helping to ensure that the group would not be welcome on Nancora should they wish to reclaim the world.
Nancora would be House Hoth's final victory. Clan Odan-Urr was given full citizenship within the Vatali Empire following the events of Operation: Vanguard, but this came at the cost of its existing structure. The Clan was required to streamline its membership and ranking system in order to carry out the tasks required of it, resulting in the dissolution of both House Hoth and House Shan. Each House's ships were gifted to the Vatali Navy, and in one final celebration on Palioxis Station Hoth was disbanded entirely. In its place stood House Sunrider.
