The [[Silver Sash]] is only given out once a year, while [[Seal of Loyalty|Seals of Loyalty]] are granted to those who show exemplary devotion to the Brotherhood twice a year in celebrations of occasions such as the [[Exodus]] or the Day of the Fox. The [[Golden Lightsaber]] - the most prestigious award in the Brotherhood - has recently only been considered for those who have served as a [[Grand Master]] to the DJB.

| Awards can be requested by Brotherhood leaders, from a [[BTL|battle team leader]] to the Grand Master himself; however, the levels of awards that one can grant varies with each leadership position. Each award request is reviewed and processed by the [[Master at Arms]]; if the MAA is unable or unavailable to approve the request, the [[Praetor]] or the [[Magistrate]] can do it in his or her stead. Some awards, however, cannot just be approved by the MAA but most also be approved by members of the [[Dark Council]], whether by majority or not - most of the time prestigious awards require a higher process of approval, such as the [[Diamond Sword]], the Silver Sash, and the Golden Lightsaber.
