| After the unexpected and unexplained decommission of Battleteam Revenance Virtuom, the Summit of House Galeres, as well as the High Summit of Clan Arcona, spent several weeks debating on whether they should open a new Battleteam to include in the Arconan Military. A decision was made and the Summit appointed Dark Jedi Knight Celevon Edraven with the honour and responsibility of creating this new Battleteam.
| |
|
| |
| With this in mind, the Captain got to work on the basics of how the team would be organized. Using his area of expertise, Celevon sought to train a group of scouts and snipers to partake in Covert Operations against whatever enemy arose against Arcona as a whole. The idea came up after watching a holovid about the Sith Assassins during the Jedi Civil War Era, following the Mandalorian Wars. Rather than using retractable staves, the members of Spectre Cell would use daggers, rifles and their lightsabers only if the situation called for it.

|
| | |
| Early on in the training, the Captain of Spectre Cell drills the members in the understanding of where their loyalties lay. Everything they learn is taught exclusively by the most skilled Shadesworn of Arcona. The Second-In-Command works side-by-side with the Captain of Spectre Cell in all tasks. Every member of Spectre Cell has one partner who compliments their particular skills: Called the ‘buddy system’, the Captain explained that your ‘buddy’ is closer to you than a twin sibling would be. You trust and rely on them throughout your tasks, even after the mission is completed.
| | After the decommission of Battle Team Revenance Virtuom, the Summit of House Galeres spent several weeks deliberating with the Arconan Summit on whether a new Battle Team should be opened which, like Revenance Virtuom, would function with the Arconan Military, or whether it should have a new mission altogether. In the end a decision was reached and the Summit appointed Dark Jedi Knight Celevon Edraven with the responsibility of creating a new Battle Team. |
|
| | |
| Using his own experience as an example, the Captain of Spectre Cell introduced the training regime of the former Sergeant of Soulfire Strike Team, Sashar Erinos Arconae, and drilled it into the members beyond the deceased Mandalorian’s exacting standards. Some of the newer parts Celevon introduced were: Surviving in the wilderness for weeks without resupply and utilizing their Stealth technology effectively, as it only worked in relatively short bursts. Once the Battleteam was formed, Spectre Cell’s Headquarters was chosen: Kurs’kranak. When on assignment, Spectre Cell resides on BAC: Darkest Night until the landings begin.
| | Celevon sought to train a group of scouts and snipers to partake in covert operations. He based his ideas off of the techniques of ancient Sith Assassins, and sought to emulate their techniques. The young Dark Jedi decided Spectre Cell would operate similarly, and attack their foe from the shadows. |
|
| | |
| == Roles == | | Following the Rite of Supremacy Horizons there was a shakeup in the Arconan Summit that saw Legorii retiring as Aedile of the House Galeres and Cethgus Entar replacing him. Spectre member Valhavoc was promoted to Battle Team Leader and charged with creating a new Battle Team within House Galeres. Obelisk Prelate Etah d’Tana, a longtime member of Galeres, was given leadership of Spectre Cell. |
| | |
| | Etah decided on a different mission profile for Spectre Cell, as he believed the teams current methods squandered the Dark Jedi’s force abilities. Building on what the founders of Spectre Cell had created, he designed a more diverse skill-set for Spectre Cell to draw on and implemented systematic training of new Spectre recruits. Spectre Cell would become known for its disciplined training, tactics, and specialized weaponry. |
| | |
| | Etah led the team through an assault on an Imperial Star Destroyer, the attempted invasion of one planet within the Sith Holy Worlds, and the successful invasion of a second planet within the Sith Holy Worlds. Spectre Cell did very well, accounting for a large percentage of the House Galeres’ kills. Due to personal reasons, Etah had to step down from the leadership of Spectre Cell, but stayed on to train his replacement. |
| | |
| | Etah’s departure from leadership came as a shock to most of the members of Spectre Cell. The leaders of House Galeres quickly started to look for a replacement. While taking applications for the position, the leader of Dark Forge also announced that he needed to step down, and at this point, they weighed their options. They decided to reorganize both Battle Teams, close Spectre Cell and reopen Soulfire Strike Team. |

| | |
| | In the intervening period of the five years after Spectre Cells dissolution, House Galeres had formed Battle Team Nighthawk to take over the duties of Soulfire Strike Team. This team would serve with distinction aboard the Agave-class Picket Nighthawk until multiple catastrophes struck Clan Arcona simultaneously, resulting in a drastic change. |

The former crew of the Nighthawk remained planetside of Selen, assisting in reconstruction while awaiting further orders. In the interim, the crew participated in aid missions across the planet, and helped to crush a Collective invasion alongside the Dajorra Defense Force. Following this the team’s special tactics training was put to highly-effective use hunting down rogue Collective cells across the Selenian archipelago, assisted by Arcona’s Odanite allies. |
| | |
| | ===Reformation=== |
| | |
| | In 36 ABY Spectre Cell would make an unexpected return to the forefront of House Galeres. After the months of constant strife, skirmishes, and open warfare, the House was put under the command of Quaestor Qyreia Arronen and her Aedile Rrogon Skar. They decided that a new Battle Team was needed to replace the now defunct Battle Team Nighthawk. This new team was founded under Spectre Cell moniker, with Grot given leadership over the new team. Stationed aboard a new Marauder-class vessel, branded once again as the Nighthawk in honor of the preceding ship and Battle Team, the team is now far more closely tied to the Arconan Armed Forces, with Satsi Tameike taken on as a Special Operations advisor. As a team building mission, the new team was immediately taken down to Arconae Primus for training and an impromptu big-game hunt. |
| | |
| | Training missions continued for months, alongside a concerted team-building effort. Specter Cell undertook a variety of missions during this period, ranging providing security for a Selenian soup kitchen, to assisting in investigations of brutal murders within Estle City’s powerful elite in the immediate aftermath of the riots. The group was particularly concerned with hunting down remnants of The Collective on Selen, a concern that was soon proven to be justified. |
| | |
| | ===Conflict against the Collective=== |
| | |
| | Not long after this period of training Spectre Cell took on its first real offensive action. The Collective cells on Selen revealed themselves in an explosive attack on the team, bombing Satsi Tameike’s home, and striking multiple Selenian villages, some of which were utterly destroyed and razed to the ground. The team launched an immediate, vicious counterattack. The Collective saboteurs were slaughtered, and the remainder of their cells were driven violently off of Selen. |
| | |
| | These operations continued after Grot stepped down from team leadership. From their base at Fort Aurora, the team launched harrying attacks and counterstrikes against the Collective, targeting the forces of Capital Enterprises in particular. Acting alongside Clan Odan-Urr, the House even launched raids on nearby Collective holdings, bringing credits and fame back home to Selen. |
| | |
| | ===Return to Eldar=== |
| | |
| | Eventually, an expedition to Eldar found that a remnant of the former populace had survived the lethal pandemic that had forced Galeres to abandon the planet, and was struggling to rebuild, having lost much of their technology and infrastructure. Many were held under the grip of pirate and slaver rings, which had also been feeding the Collective information about Dajorran military installations. Working in concert with the Arconan Armed Forces, Spectre Cell came down hard upon the slavers, eliminating many of them and freeing the remaining Keadeans. |
| | |
| | Before Eldar could be fully reclaimed, however, Galeres was caught in a series of escalating conflicts elsewhere in the galaxy, namely the war against the Collective and ongoing negotiations with a faction directly on Dajorra’s border, the Severian Principate. Closer to home, a massive drug-den was discovered within the heart of Arcona, Estle City. Investigations into the group behind the dangerous and extremely addictive substance, called “Nova”, are ongoing. After this, Spectre Cell returned to Eldar, preparing for more substantial operations by assisting the native Keadeans in their fight against pirates attacking their villages. Spectre Cell has founded particularly close ties with a Keadean leader by the name of Toronaga, who has cooperated closely with the team in their efforts. |
| | |
| | The situation is still fragile, and a new Battle Team leader, Sera Kaern, was appointed by Consul Lucine Vasano to oversee ongoing operations. |
| | |
|
| |
|
| Spectre Cell specialises in Guerilla Warfare, Sniping enemy targets, and silently taking out enemy sentries during reconnaissance missions. Due to their intense training under Lieutenant Edraven, the team is always ready and willing to do almost anything to succeed in their mission. Failure is not an option: whatever methods are necessary to get the job done, so be it.

| When all else fails and all-out battle takes place, Spectre Cell is in charge of the Forward Reconnaissance. Spectre Cell are always the first ones in: casing an area while taking out enemy sentries, patrolling within enemy territory and ambushing supply lines. The members are highly trained to utilize their intelligence to the highest degree in any battle situation. Quick and clean, Spectre Cell operates under complete communications silence by utilizing the light on their helmets to flash code until they forward the intel they’ve gathered to the Arconan Fleet, though mainly to Soulfire Strike Team and Void Squadron.
| |
|
| |
| The intensity of the training regime removed any sense of compassion for their enemies, becoming cold, ruthless and calculating killers. During this training, the Captain of Spectre Cell carefully nurtured their cunning instincts. Outside of an enemy base, Spectre Cell take position in foxholes and sniper’s nests while they wait patiently for the right moment to strike. This patience is helped by the eye-piece beneath the hooded cloaks that is interconnected between the members, showing which targets are marked by the individuals. Once the Guards have been silently taken out, Spectre Cell moves forward to open the gates for Soulfire or another task force. Once inside the base, Spectre Cell provides falls into a support role, keeping their distance and covering for extraction.
| |
|
| |
| One of the techniques Celevon taught to the members of Spectre Cell is a technique he calls ‘Ghosting’: which is, essentially, moving throughout any environment undetected, using the natural shade to aid their movements.
| |
|
| |
| After a long discussion with the Summit of House Galeres, the Captain of Spectre Cell implemented a new part to the members training regime: The effective use of the built-in Steath technology, which only works in short bursts. It was decided that Spectre Cell would arrive in MAATs (Multi-Altitude Assault Transports) and jump out wherever they are needed to combat the enemy forces rather than landing the transport to disembark, due to the inherent danger of landing ground forces during battle.

| === Armour ===
| |
| ==== Spectre Sentry Armor ====
| |
| The Spectre Sentry Armor is essentially lightweight armorweave with polycarbonate chest plate, gauntlets, shoulder guards, and greaves. The boots are made of reinforced rancor hide and offer durability without adding any additional weight. The plating is lightweight and can dissipate the brunt of a blaster bolt or two, but not heavy fire. It is resistant to bladed and blunt objects, but will crack after a few repeated blows. Spectre Cell utilizes a black hooded cloak, as the members utilize the natural shadows of their environment during nighttime operations. During the daylight hours, Spectre Cell wears a cloak of digital camouflage to blend in with their current surroundings, which is especially useful when they are sniping and slowly working their way beyond enemy lines. They would still be detectable by scanners and infared, as the camouflage effect only works fully when the subject is stationary. In motion, the cloak can’t adept quick enough to altering backgrounds. Therefore, short bursts from cover to cover is one of the more commonly seen tactics Spectre Cell utilizes.
| |
|
| |
| Manufactured by Shadesworn Designs, the armorweave is a shade of midnight black while the polycarbonate plating that seemingly melds with the cloth is painted a non-reflective matte black so as to not give away the position of the Agents of Spectre Cell to enemy patrols. One special piece of their gear is the helmet: Not designed to withstand a bullet, the thin helmet is outfitted with a tempered LED display visor, that connects to a computer chip inside the helmet. Through the HUD of the visor, a Spectre Cell operative can calculate distance to targets, take into effect weather and wind conditions, and can pull up a grid-view of current line for marking coordinates and highlighting weakpoints. The data can be transmitted over a secure channel back towards a nearby dropship or Forward Operating Base for intel use. On the temple of the helmet is a small light emitter that toggles between infrared and ultraviolet spectrum's, as well as a simple LED flashlight, which is used to send messages to the other nearby members of Spectre Cell during communications silence.

| === Weapons ===
| |
| ==== Erinos Miniature Magnetic Accelerator Rifle ====
| |
|
| |
| Upon his appointment as Captain of Spectre Cell, Celevon reluctantly put away his Verpine Sniper Rifle, as the weapon was ancient as well as too delicate for those who didn’t understand the subtle intricacies needed to maintain it. With this in mind, Celevon sought out the weapons specialists of the Erinos Clan. What came of this was a miniaturized version of the E-MAPL (Erinos Magnetically Accelerated Projectile Launcher): An organic-looking rifle with a maximum range of 1600 meters, while the optimum range for the best accuracy is 500 meters. As it is essentially a rail gun, it uses magnets running the length of the barrel to launch projectiles at high speeds at their distant targets, rather than the more primitive powder versions to project the slugs. Because of this design, there are batteries within the stock of the weapon, which hold a charge long enough to fire 30-35 rounds before needing replacement or a recharge. Therefore, those using the weapon must make every shot count. While it has a slower rate of fire than most Sniper Rifles, the E-MMAR has enough kinetic power behind the rounds to pick a man up, throw him three meters backwards and drop him to the floor with a five inch-wide hole as an exit wound. A single clip holds ten rounds of the high-calibre slugs, and the weapon has to be manually cocked after each shot is fired.

| ==== SSK-7d Heavy Blaster Pistol ====
| |
| The trademark blaster pistol of the Arcona military, the SSK-7c is a durable and reliable pistol. Issued to the Summit Guard Commandos due to its stopping power and versatility, the SSK-7c boasts a few upgrades over their "stock variants", including a tibanna gas catridge that increases the stopping power of its blaster bolts, as well as an attachable sound and flash suppressor. After being appointed Captain of Battleteam Spectre Cell, Celevon Edraven took this pistol and redesigned it to make it more proficient than the earlier models to fire a more concentrated blast to go along with the upgrades given to the 7c model. After testing, the 7d model was made available to all members of Spectre Cell. All pistols are painted with a non-reflective coat of matte black paint. All members are required to carry two extra clips for this weapon, though they can carry more if they wish. Each clip holds fifteen rounds.

| The Sigil of Spectre Cell is highly significant. It is partially inspired by the current Consul of Arcona, Wuntila Zratian Entar Arconae. With the man’s title of the ‘Dragon of Selen’, you can see the significance. A dragon wrapped around a dagger. It almost seems to whisper: ‘When the Consul’s sword is caught, his silent dagger will not be.’ The sword being Soulfire Strike Team and the dagger being Spectre Cell.
