Dark Orb is a recently closed Phyle in House Qel-Droma of Clan Arcona. It was once one of the most well-known battleteams in the Brotherhood, the elite team in Arcona, but was disbanded after at least four years of maintaining elite status. It was reborn in 29 ABY under the administration of Consul Mejas Doto, with Legorii Kryotek as Tetrarch. It was closed later, in 30 ABY under Consul Sashar Arconae.

Mission Statement

Dark Orb was brought back to activity to act as a group of Dark Jedi who would then lead their own small teams of Tactical Marines into battle. The small teams would each specialise in certain areas which, if all of the groups were brought together, would form a extremely deadly force. However, the teams are usually tasked with working on their own or with only a single other team, and it is under these circumstances that the Phyle usually operates.

Early History of Dark Orb

The Dark Orb phyle is the older of the two phyles in House Qel-Droma and the first known Tetrarch was KP Hearn. The phyle grew rapidly and it held the core of Qel-Droma's most active members. Hearn eventually became Aedile of House Qel-Droma before going Rogue. However, he is still credited with being the first Tetrarch of the Dark Orb phyle.

After Hearn, KAP Frost and KAP D'hak were the next two Tetrarchs. Both of them futher strengthened the phyle and helped increase activity. Both Frost and D'hak would ultimately reach the position of Quaestor of Qel-Droma, continuing the trend that Hearn had begun. After some time, Frost went Rogue, but D'hak remained in House Qel-Droma. DJK Krona took over the phyle for a brief time (he eventually chose to become a Sith). However, troubled times for the phyle were approaching.

A decree from the House Summit declared that the Dark Orb phyle would be reserved for those members who ranked Dark Jedi Knight or higher. The Prophecy phyle was reserved for those members under the rank of Dark Jedi Knight. KP Kahn took over as Tetrarch shortly after this decree. The affects of this decree were soon recognized by Kahn as the activity level of the Dark Orb phyle decreased. After many attempts to stimulate activity, Kahn petitioned the House Summit to change the phyle organization. When a new Quaestor, Enahropes Entar (the former Aedile), was appointed, he appointed Kahn as his Aedile. With Enahropes approval, Kahn banished the ranked phyle system and appointed a new tetrarch. Kahn would later go on to be Quaestor of Qel-Droma, continuing the trend.

KAP Timeros (then a Jedi Hunter) was appointed to fill the empty Tetrarch position and he held the position for one of the longest tenures in the history of the phyle. Eventually, Timeros chose to return to Prophecy phyle and Quaestor Kahn appointed former Tetrarch KAP D'hak to fill the position. D'hak's tenure surpassed Timeros' in time and it was also duirng one of the more prosperous times in the House. D'hak stepped down as tetrarch shortly after Kahn stepped down as Quaestor. Both remained in House Qel-Droma.

JH Karan Callidus Entar became the next Tetrarch of the Dark Orb, and was the first ever to be under the rank of Dark Jedi Knight. At first, Karan created an atmosphere of activity, but when he suddenly disappeared for two weeks, Quaestor Mejas Doto appointed former Quaestor Kahn (now using his full name, Anshar Kahn) as the new Tetrarch. He had served for barely two months when the Exodus occured.

Exodus/Post Exodus Leaders

The Exodus time period was as difficult a time for the Dark Orb phyle as it was for everyone else in the Brotherhood. Many records and artifacts were lost, and huge chunks of the magnificent phyle history vanished forever. Anshar did his best to save as much of the team's history as he could, and did a better job of it than many battleteam leaders did at that time.

Dark Orb rebounded quickly as the Clan Summit was sorting out the new move to the Dajorra System and began to thrive once more without the overbearing hand of the Imperial remnant. After the split, Anshar was really only serving as interim Tetrarch under Consul Mav Cantor, and a new Tetrarch was appointed less than a month after the Exodus. Arcturus Gadeskin Xyler served for four months, leading the team well before turning it over to a new leader, Leara.

Leara's tenure as leader of the team was not marked by many meaningful events, but she did well with the team before it was given to the longest serving of all the Tetrarchs, Vassan Rokir. Rokir served for nearly two years as Tetrarch, bringing about many changes and leading the team to even further heights. Dark Orb had become the epitome of battleteam strength in Clan Arcona and the Brotherhood as a whole.

Eventually it became time for Vassan to move on, becoming Aedile of House Qel-Droma before moving ever further upwards in the Clan, eventually to the coveted slot of Consul. The new Tetrarch was former BTL Frost, who had done well with the team and returned to active duty. After him came another former BTL, Karan Callidus Entar, who changed his name but served for only two short months. After the brief struggles of the team after Vassan Rokir, the activity levels dropped to null and the team was shut down.

Rebirth

Three years later, with activity levels in Arcona swelling under the leadership of Consul Mejas Doto and Proconsul Sashar Arconae, it was decided that the House was once again strong enough to host two active teams, Prophecy and Dark Orb. DJK Legorii, who had been serving as Prodigy and Corporal of Blue Mist team in House Galeres, was appointed the new Tetrarch, and tasked with getting the team up on its feet.

In a very short time, he rewrote the history annals and recruited a powerful team to wield for the greater glory of Arcona. Shortly after the rebirth of the team, an operation was held to determine the strongest of Arcona's battleteams. With little time to prepare, Dark Orb came up short, but took second of four teams. Legorii's former team, Blue Mist, ended up the victors.

Notable Roles

Fourth Great Jedi War

The Fourth Great Jedi War found the Brotherhood scrambling to find the Skin of Fire, an artifact that bore a promise of great power. Clan Arcona was relentless in its search, but it needed direction on the quest to recover that ancient power spoken of by the Grand Master, Chi-Long. The driving force behind Clan Arcona's search was the endless research by the Krath team of Dark Orb, as the scholars worked around the clock to find any and all information concerning the Skin of Fire. Without Dark Orb's research and direction, Arcona would never have come so close to discovering that ultimate power.

Invasion of Antares

Dark Orb also played a crucial role in the invasion of the Antares system, helping to plan Clan Arcona's strategic strikes on the government facilities on the planet Antares, as well as crippling the shipyards that proved instrumental in the surrender of the planet and system. The Krath team designed many of the maneuvers and battleplans carried out by the rest of the Clan, and provided support roles with their mastery of the Dark Side. Battle meditation made the difference between a long struggle in the streets and a sweeping victory for the Brotherhood.

Sixth Great Jedi War

The Sixth Great Jedi War was a difficult time for the Brotherhood, with the infection of the Sith Lord Okemi spreading through the Brotherhood like a plague. For a long time, the Dark Jedi did not know what was going on, and Dark Orb worked nearly 24/7 on finding the answer to that frightening question. As the number of high ranking officials was dropping to the infection, Dark Orb was pressed for time. After working on the mystery for day after day, the team thought they had the answer.

Immediately the Tetrarch took the results of their research and study to the Sith High Warrior, one of the only ones still not infected, and he took those results to Grand Master Firefox. Firefox returned with the Sith High Warrior, Xanos, and united the Clans of the Brotherhood that remained untouched to rally and defeat the corrupted, ending Okemi's insidious infection forever.

K'hamar'an Crisis

The K'hamar'an Crisis occured when the members of that strange cult came and stole back artifacts the Brotherhood had claimed. The Krath Order was enraged, and the Krath High Priestess, Alanna, decided to invade their homeworld and take back the items, ending the cultists threat along the way. Dark Orb was instrumental in this mission, as they served the main role in hunting down the artifacts. If they hadn't been the cunning Krath that they were, the cultists would have hidden the artifacts away so well that they would never have been uncovered again.

There are many artifacts now under Arconan possession due to the actions of the Dark Orb team during the invasion, and those artifacts have become symbols of the Clan's strength, the pride of all of its members. However, this was the last major war that Dark Orb participated in, as it was shut down before the Seventh Great Jedi War and reborn after the Eighth Great War.

Battleteam Structure

A Covert Squad member

The Dark Orb Phyle is basically a team of squad leaders. It is made up of twelve specialized squads, each led by a squad commander. These commanders are led by the Tetrarch of the Phyle. There are five commandos and a squad leader in each of those twelve, with their own designated roles and responsibilities to carry out in the service of their Clan. Covert Squad Delta began serving as the guard for Aedile Legorii just after Arador became the Tetrarch.

There are six types of squads within the Phyle. The make-up of these teams is as follows:


  • Deep Strike - The purpose of the Deep Strike team specialization is to infiltrate enemy territory over an extended period of time, and attack specified targets otherwise unreachable by the Dark Orb teams. There are two Deep Strike teams in Dark Orb.

  • Rapid Response - The rapid response team(s) is designed to be quick and mobile, getting to the exact location needed faster than the enemy, and still being able to pack quite the punch upon arriving at their destination. There are two rapid response squads in Dark Orb.

  • Demolitions - The demolitions squad is a highly specified team of five commandos and a squad leader who are deployed on operations for the sole purpose of eliminating targets through the use of extensive force, often involving explosives. Dark Orb has two demolitions squads.

  • Covert - This branch of squad specialization inside the Dark Orb Phyle is absolutely essential to the success of every operation. These men are trained to move silently and secretly, good at infiltration and assassination, masters of chaos and discord. Dark Orb has three covert squads.

  • Assault - This is the basic squad make-up in the Arconan military, essential to the success of the Dark Orb Phyle as a whole. The assault squad(s) generally carry out the main roles in battle. There are four assault squads in Dark Orb.

    • Heavy weapons
    • Pilot

Role Details

Commanders - The squad commanders (12 of them) each command five commandos. They can choose to fill a role on their own team as well, such as sniper.

Tech Specialist/Slicer - Expert in all things electronic, expert at hacking into enemy (and friendly) systems and also handles comm duties for the squad.

Heavy Weapons - Hits hard, armed with heavier weapons than the rest of the squad it is this person who will generally be laying down fire to cover a squad member. Is the explosives expert for the team.

Scout - Usually goes in ahead of a squad to see what awaits them. Silent and deadly, usually prefers close combat weapons so as to keep noise to a minimum when performing silent kills, although not afraid to jump into a fire fight.

Sharpshooter - Specialist in blaster weapons, differs to a sniper because he generally doesn't hide from his enemies and pick them off from far away, but prefers to be in the thick of the action, using the skills they possess with blasters to inflict as many casualties as they can.

Sniper - Expert at long-range killing. Good for covering a friendly, better at picking off important enemy targets from far away so as to avoid detection. Not very strong in close combat, however.

Pilot (General) - Expert at flying ships, capable of flying ground craft as well but not as proficient as a Vehicular pilot.

Pilot (Vehicular) - Almost the opposite to the general pilot insofar as they are extremely skilled with land-based vehicles and can operate spacecraft, but nowhere near as proficient as a general pilot is.

Arms and Armour

Dark Orb has a fairly large and well-equipped armory to draw from before its missions, and it is advised that each soldier, especially the commanders, familiarize themselves with all their weapon options. For each role, there are a few different choices to make. Choose wisely before each mission.

Helmets

The Dark Orb helmets were meticulously designed and created for optimum protection and use by the TAMs as well as the Dark Jedi assigned to the battleteam. Standard color schemes such as matte black, camouflage, and urban styles are available for the different units depending on the mission, but the technology and features are the same in all the models.

The viewscreen is polarized, and inside the helmet there is an advanced air filtration system, along with a small oxygen supply. There is also a comlink based on the inside of the helmet, with activation buttons and controls on the left wrist. Also on this control panel are optic options for the helmet, including night vision and scopes with varying magnitudes. Heat sensors will be included for some specified marines, such as the snipers and scouts.

Helmets also include anti-flash coatings on the visors, to prevent troopers from being blinded by sudden flashes. Holographic Vision Processors (HVP) sensors will be included to aid the troopers when their view is obstructed by smoke, fire, or darkness. In regards to external audio, small speakers will be built into the inner rim of the helmet to project the voice to non-personnel.

Boots

The boots were created, first and foremost, to be comfortable and practical. There are reinforced soles, to provide stronger support for the entire foot while marching or running long distances. There are small filtration vents to keep the feet cool. At the tip of the boot and at the heel, magnets are used for aid in scaling buildings.

Utility Belts

Each marine has his/her own utility belt. This belt includes ten meters of tightly coiled durability wire, a grappling hook, four spare power packs for chosen blasters, two ion flares, five days of rations, a spare comlink, three water packs, and two medpacks. On the back of the armor are two power packs to power the suit, and a half hour of oxygen.

Body armor

The body suits also come with color variations (white, black, camouflage, urban, ceremonial). The only difference is that with ceremonial suits, they will be stripped of nearly all capabilities except protection and cooling systems. Comes without helmet and utility belt. All versions of the armor come with a tight-fitting black body glove, worn under the armor for additional comfort and protection.

The suit material is actually be based off a former design by Mandalorians, commissioned for the Soulfire team. On the torso, helmet, arms and shoulders, boots, and legs a light plasteel alloy (the same used on stormtrooper armor) is used. On the right pectoral plate the individual callsign (for example, “Fox”) is printed along with the squad callsign (for example, “Alpha”). Nowhere on the regular combat armor is either the Arcona, Qel-Droma, or Dark Orb logos be shown. This is largely due to the fact that the TAMs often carry out missions that cannot be identified with Arcona. However, on the ceremonial variation, the trio of logos will be on the left pectoral plate.

Covert Squad Delta

Commander: Etah d'Tana
Scout: Alexander "Morgue Razr" Wieczorek (Anzati Male)

  • Morgue Razr, usually called Razr, is a thin but wiry Anzati male. He grew up the son of a politician who was friends with Regoram Kryotek, Legorii's father. Legorii returned to his homeplanet after reaching the rank of Dark Jedi Knight, and recruited his old friend Razr to serve in his new squad in Dark Orb. Razr uses a set of four C-22 grenades and an E-19 rifle.

Scout: Leonardo "Black Anvil" DiVenice (Human Male)

  • Leonardo, more often simply called Anvil, served in the 2nd Tactical Brigade in the Arconan Military. He met Legorii on an extraction mission on Reecee, and befriended him. He then requested a transfer to serve as a soldier under the newly formed squads led by Dark Jedi. He is armed with four G20 Glop grenades and an A280 blaster rifle.

Sharpshooter: Ashley "Blood Krystal" Betz (Human Female)

  • Ashley Betz, or Krystal, was a cold blooded sharpshooter in the Arconan Military, when she was transferred for killing an officer in cold blood. Rather than court martial her and kick her out of the military, the Consul realized she had too much talent. So, she was assigned to serve directly under Legorii, where she could be used more efficiently. Krystal uses an E-17D sniper rifle and two 0033X grenades.

Sniper:

  • Phantom was picked up in a small cantina on Eldar, a young Cerean caught hacking into a structural database after finding himself down on his luck. Legorii offered him a chance that would keep him out of prison, so he decided that his technological genius would be better used in the military, under a Dark Jedi. Phantom utilizes three CryoBan grenades and a DXR6 carbine.

Assault Squad Alpha

Commander: Strategos Thanatos Entar (Spectran Male)
Tech Specialist: Robert "Hoodlum" Nix (Anzat Male)

  • Hoodlum was an old friend of Legorii's, from the Underworld. At the time, Hoodlum was a hacker working on cracking the New Republic's fledgling network, and Legorii agreed to help him with some things. Hoodlum owed Legorii, but couldn't repay his debt since he was in jail. When Legorii started building Dark Orb man by man, he remembered Hoodlum, and broke him out of jail. Now, Hoodlum serves on Legorii's team to repay his massive debts.

Sharpshooter: Ronnie "Tiger" Lee (Human Male)

  • The Tiger is a skilled sharpshooter, utilizing the SoroSuub X-45 sniper rifle and heavy Prax Arms guns. He is often the driving force of Sigma, carrying the weight of the team in ways not even the Commander can. The Tiger came from the jungles of Kashyyyk, a slave trader caught up in the tribal warfare. When Dark Orb moved in and took command of a group of those tribes to stop the plans of an enemy Clan, the Tiger asked to join.

Sniper: Strategos Thanatos Entar Arconae (Spectran Male)

  • Strategos has acquired many skills over his many years, one of the most useful and well developed of these being his skills as a sniper. This is an invaluable position within a covert squad, and Strategos fills the slot well. He carries an E-17D sniper rifle and DL-18 pistol.

Heavy Weapons: Robin "Crown" Hobb (Human Male)

  • Crown, the commander of Sigma, is a big brute of a man with a fearless attitude. He is always in favor of blowing the door down and bursting into the room firing. No restraint, that's how he runs his team. Armed with over a dozen frag grenades and a rocket launcher, Crown sure knows how to do damage to the enemy.

Pilot: Jason "Truth" Niddall (Human Male)

  • The Truth is one of the quickest, and wittiest, pilots in Dark Orb. Often, his maneuvers aren't as fancy and elaborate as some of the other brilliant pilots, but this former Rebel fighter pilot sure knows how to go fast. He is familiar with many kinds of fighters as well, and even owns his own Y-wing.

Deep Strike Squad Beta

Tech Specialist: Klasnar “Bytes” Sanon (Kiffar Male)

  • A short career filled with an abundance of success and numerous commendations led Klasnar to be snapped up by Zandro as the slicer for his new squad. On a recommendation from his old commander, he met up with Zandro to discuss the squad the clicked with the Dark Jedi quickly, vowing to join the squad and serve Zandro before the meeting had ended. Extremely proficient with all types of computers and their systems, Bytes favours a Proton carbine and a DL-18 blaster pistol, as well as 3 EMP grenades of his own creation.

Sharpshooter: Oriana Winters

Scout: Vinnel (Defel Male)

  • Not much is known of Vinnel’s past, except that he used his species’ natural sneaking skills to gain entrance to the Qel-Droma base and petition Zandro for a place in his squad. He supposedly acted as a bodyguard to an influential human on Selen before the fall of the Dajorra system and Zandro was impressed with his skills and so offered him a place within his squad as a forward scout. Vinnel favours a DL-18 blaster pistol with attached silencer as well as a long (30cm blade) knife and an E-19 blaster rifle, also silenced.

Heavy Weapons: Rivaan “Riv” Erinos (Human Female)

  • When Zandro was tasked with creating his deep strike team, the first name on his list was Riv’s. Not related to the squad commander by blood, Riv is a member of the Erinos clan and resided with her family on the Erinos estate in the Dajorra system before she was summoned by Zandro and given the opportunity to join the squad. She has an almost insatiable lust for explosions and regularly uses the term “P for Plenty” as an excuse to make an explosion bigger than it might necessarily need to be. She uses a FC-1 Flechette launcher, a DH-17 heavy blaster pistol, 4 C-22 frag grenades and 3 0033X grenades.

Sharpshooter: Bravin "Klick" Torson (Human Male)

  • Specialising in sniper rifles and blaster pistols, Klick got his nickname from one of his first missions as part of the TAMs where he managed to assassinate an enemy General from just over a kilometre away, despite conditions being against him. Quick witted and extremely deadly with his chosen blasters, Klick was the last member to join on with Zandro and he handles the longer range shooting, favouring an X-45 sniper rifle and dual Westar-34 pistols for long-range and close combat respectively.

Heavy Weapons: Andrew "Plutonian" Tarter (Human Male)

  • Plutonian came to specialize in heavy weapons from his military time, and is a partly trained Dark Jedi. His skills proved ivaluable in taking command of the foremost Demolitions team in Dark Orb, and Legorii values his services very much. He is armed with a lightsaber, PLX-1 rocket launcher, and a DH-17 heavy pistol, and six frag grenades.

Heavy Weapons: Andre “Ginseng” Gilbert (Human Male)

  • Ginseng is a massive brute of a man, not very intelligent but a master of explosives. He likes when things go bang, and is not afraid to blow shit up. Ginseng is often crucial to Dark Orb operations, for his explosives brilliance always gives the team an interesting entrance, not to mention guaranteeing them an exit. He wields a rocket launcher and dozens of grenades.

Pilot: James “Stag” McNamara (Twi'lek Male)

  • James, or Stag, is one of the most daring pilots the Arconan Military had to offer. However, he was also a troublemaker, gambling and drinking constantly. He reportedly asked his superiors what good a sober pilot was after they kicked him out of the force. He was quick to be picked up as pilot for the Dark Orb team. Stag wields two Westar 34 pistols.

Pilot: Carly “Shark” Patterson (Twi'lek Female)

  • Shark is quick with her prey, nearly as skilled a pilot as Stag but a hell of a lot more deadly. Apparently, Shark was an “acquaintance” of Jackal, a former Underworld con artist that knew how to make a quick getaway. Shark wields an SG-4 carbine.

Tech Specialist: Matthew “Tumbler” Nolan (Devaronian Male)

  • Tumbler is cunning and sly, a shrewd man and a good eye with a blaster rifle. He specializes in technology with the Gamma team, but is an all-around soldier. Tumbler wields his two knuckle blades and E-19 with great skill, a great asset to the team.

Assault Squad Theta

Commander: Aeron (Human Male)
Tech Specialist Sizzor “Royal” Brandywine (Falleen Male)

  • Royal grew up in an upper class family on the planet Falleen, attending school for a career in technology. However, biological experiments ordered by Lord Vader in his hometown forced him to flee, where he ran into Dark Jedi that he had mistaken for Vader while he tracked them. Eventually he ended up in Dark Orb.

Sharpshooter: Kralik “Krusher” Barabulus (Barabel Male)

  • Krusher was taught the art of war at the hand of his master, an Imperial warlord that kept a dozen Barabels and taught them combat so they could hunt for him. Krusher was the most distinguished of the “hounds”, slaying his master and fleeing to the far corners of the galaxy and wandering the stars. He eventually met up Helix, and the two of them joined Dark Orb. Krusher wields two DC-17 heavy pistols.

Scout: Elrik “Shriek” Shisarru (Nikto Male)

  • Shriek was trained on Kintan within his family to become a warrior one day, and as soon as he became an adult he left the planet in search of work. He came across Dark Orb on an intercept mission on a pirate vessel, and he was invited to join the ranks. He immediately began to serve as a scout. Shriek fights with twin katanas and two G20 Glop grenades.

Heavy Weapons: Yorrel “Fog” Gryque (Gand Female)

  • Fog nearly killed herself after playing with her older brother’s fireworks, but instead of kindling fear in her, it was the start of an obsession. Ever since, Fog has learned everything thing she can about explosives, and become quite proficient in their use. She is very skilled and precise, wielding homemade explosives and grenades.

Pilot: Aeron (Human Male)

  • Aeron was initiated in the Dark Brotherhood with an interest in piloting. He was trained to become a pilot, and eventually join Blue Mist one day, until he developed new skills of his own and was placed in Dark Orb. He now serves as a pilot and commander in Gamma, wielding a DL-18 blaster pistol.

  • Wrayth recently befriended Strategos, while on a mission against the Yuuzhan Vong. Strategos invited him to serve on a new squad in Dark Orb, and Wrayth accepted graciously. He utilizes a T-28 Sniper Rifle and a Westar 34 pistol.

Scout: Jin “Praxeum” Zar (Male Nautolan)

  • Jin, or Praxeum, served with Cabal Cronal, alongside Tetrarch Legorii. He was a very skilled scout, and Legorii asked him to join Dark Orb when it was reformed. Praxeum graciously accepted; his quick wit and friendly laugh a welcome sound in the rough squads of Dark Orb. He fights with a katana, taught to him by Legorii, and a Westar 34 pistol.

Sharpshooter: Sven “Venom” Aggasi (Male Bothan)

  • Venom is one of the most infamous bounty hunters in the galaxy, hired to capture Strategos Arconae by an enemy in another Clan. His apprentice, Legorii, caught the hunter and challenged him to battle. If Legorii should win, Venom would be forced to serve in his team; if Venom won, he would get to move on and challenge Strategos. Legorii defeated the Bothan, and now he is forced to serve on Dark Orb loyally. The Bothan fights with two Westar pistols, four frag grenades, and an SG-4 carbine.

Tech Specialist: Abraxus “Smyth” Black (Quarren Male)

  • Abraxus, or Smyth, was the younger brother of a famous Rebel hacker. His brother taught him the tricks of the trade. However, after his older brother was killed by Imperials, Smyth’s parents did not want him to fight the Imperials. Still, the military was his calling, so Smyth found Dark Orb and joined willingly. Smyth uses four C-10 Stun grenades and a DL-18 pistol.

Rapid Response Squad Omicron

Commander: Wayne "Hackr" Slip (Human Male)
Tech Specialist: Wayne "Hackr" Slip (Human Male)

  • Hackr was an accomplice, and in many ways the tutor of, Hoodlum. The two worked together to try and bring down the New Republic network, but when Hoodlum slipped up and was captured, Hackr was forced to slink back into the shadows to plot. When word got out that Hoodlum had been freed by another Anzat criminal, Hackr checked his tabs and attempted to regain contact with Hoodlum. He succeeded, and was invited to join Dark Orb. His far superior tech skills put him in command of his own team.

Pilot: Bryce "Slackr" Collins (Human Male)

  • Slackr was an Imperial pilot, part of the wing that failed to defend the first Death Star. Slackr and Backr, close friends since childhood and both Imperial pilots of that wing, decided to try and get out of the Imperial military. They succeeded, and laid low for many years. But when they heard of a group of Dark Jedi escaping the Imperial Remnant and ready to fight, they decided to return to their true calling to fight the Remnant. After the years of dedication it took to find them, they joined Dark Orb.

Pilot: Tracie "Backr" Williamson (Human Female)

  • Backr, close friend of Slackr and former Imperial pilot, joined Dark Orb as a stellar fighter pilot, but a specializer in troop transport.

Heavy Weapons: Zayd "Krackr" Adams (Human Male)

  • Krackr was a gang leader in Coruscant's Underworld, and he loved to conduct hit and runs. When his gang became engaged in a massive turf war and lost, Krackr was disgraced and had a lot of thugs after his head. He was forced to leave the planet, when Legorii gave him an offer he could not resist.

Scout: Robert "Trackr" Jordan (Human Male)

  • Trackr was a young soldier caught up in the initial invasion by the Yuuzhan Vong, his planet saved by Arconan intervention during the Incursion. Trackr decided to devote his life to hunting down all the Yuuzhan Vong killers that had slaughtered his family, and exterminate them. Dark Orb offered him the best opportunity to do this, so he took it without any hesitation.

Demolitions Squad Zeta

Commander: Rowan "Envizion" Nolan (Cerean Male)
Heavy Weapons: Stephon "Mortar" Greene (Human Male)

  • Mortar trained for years to become what he termed a "Rebel suicide bomber" and came to master many different strategies and types of explosives. When his mission was stopped by a Blue Mist team under former Corporal Legorii, Mortar considered himself in Legorii's debt, and later joined his team to repay it.

Heavy Weapons: Josef "Runway" Sansweet (Human Male)

  • Runway's nickname used to be "Runaway". However, he is so drunk 90 percent of the type that "Runaway" slurred to just Runway. Even though he is drunk most of the time, Sansweet is a decent explosives expert, never once blowing himself up.

Pilot: Amanda "Amazon" Rove (Twi'lek Female)

  • Amazon is the only female in Squad Zeta, a beautiful young Twi'lek with a sharp wit and fierce attitude. Her elaborate dodges and dips give Zeta a wild ride, but she always gives them back to the Tetrarch in one piece.

Pilot: Spencer "Shrapnel" Stevenson

  • Shrapnel is as loony as your grandma. He's had some many head trauma wounds and battle scars that never healed properly, you can't help but feel sorry for the grizzled veteran. With twin DH-17 heavy pistols in hand, and strapped from head to toe with grenades, Shrapnel steps out of his cockpit to do battle.

Tech Specialist: Rowan "Envizion" Carlson (Cerean Male)

  • Envizion, commander of Zeta, is a descendant of the great Jedi Master Ki-Adi-Mundi. Ki, the greatest Jedi of the Clone Wars, passed on many of his most defining traits to his descendant. Envizion is Force-sensitive, but does not live by the Jedi Code. Instead, the few techniques he knows were taught to him by the Tetrarch. He wields twin katanas and a Westar 34 pistol.

Assault Squad Phi

Commander: Corin "Prestige" Jackson (Anzat Male)
Tech Specialist: Jimmy "Babylon" Bjork (Quarren Male)

  • Babylon was part of the Black Sun organization, one of the lead hackers and a very rich man. However, when the organization began to fall apart, Babylon realized that his riches were in jeopardy, but too late. The Imperial Remnant captured him and tried to wheedle his money out of him. Former Black Sun friends notified their contacts in Dark Orb, who were nearby at the time, and rescued Babylon, who swore to serve his new team.

Sharpshooter: Corin "Prestige" Jackson (Anzat Male)

  • Prestige is the one member that does not carry the mark of the Brotherhood that is close to Legorii. His father, Curtis Jackson, was an associate of Regoram Kryotek, Legorii's father, and the two arrogant Anzat males grew up together. Prestige was the first man Legorii called when he was building his team, and Prestige came with more eagerness than anyone else.

Scout: Shawn "Operator" McNamara (Human Male)

  • The Operator is one of the smoothest men ever to work in the Arconan Military forces. He was actually serving with Blue Mist in a very trying affair on Cian against the Gwelio, where he befriended the Tetrarch and decided to following him to Dark Orb.

Heavy Weapons: Isaac "Foundation" Hendrix (Barabel Male)

  • Isaac Hendrix, or Foundation as he is known by within Dark Orb, is the brother of one of the Barabel warriors serving with Souflire Strike Team. When Foundation was not accepted into the team, he was bitter and angry. Legorii offered him an opportunity to gain even more power than his brother and friends in Soulfire, as a heavy weapons specialist with Dark Orb. With that drive and ambition, Foundation helps push his squad to glory.

Pilot: Phineas "Experience" Ludlum (Human Male)

  • Experience is one of the most stunning of all the Dark Orb pilots, as daring a pilot as the galaxy has ever seen. He is also one of the youngest in Dark Orb. With Experience at the controls, chances are you'll make it through alive and well, but you'll have to watch his amazing acrobatics and daring maneuvers first.

Assault Squad Iota

Commander: Meghan "Malediction" Raab (Human Female)
Tech Specialist: Gladys "Sabrina" Knight (Human Female)

  • Sabrina got her nickname for being able to work magic with just her fingers and a computer. There is not a door that will not open, a file that cannot be viewed, a lock that can't be picked, or a code that can't be cracked, when Sabrina is around. She is a tremendous asset and well used by one of the most cunning of the commanders, Malediction.

Sharpshooter: Nikki "Venus" Knowkka (Human Female)

  • Venus is a goddess with a sniper rifle, and that's where she got her nickname. She has an eye for set ups and ambushes, along with a steady hand and itchy trigger finger. Watch out when Venus is about, you might wake up with a hole in your head if you piss off the wrong people.

Scout: Hank "Ranger" Dodd (Human Male)

  • The Ranger is a master of the rural environments, be they jungles or plains, mountains or tundras. His guiding hand and instincts have brought Iota out of a good many tricky situations, and is definitely one of the best the industry has to offer in his profession.

Heavy Weapons: Travis "Gladiator" Luttz (Barabel Male)

  • Gladiator has had a price on his head since he was a week old, after blowing up an apartment building accidentally. Ever since, he has been fascinated with explosives, as well as the life of crime. He might not be the smartest or strongest, but he knows how to make things go bang.

Pilot: Meghan "Malediction" Raab (Human Female)

  • Malediction may well be the most powerful non-Dark Jedi in Dark Orb. She is surely the greatest pilot in Dark Orb, and a cold-hearted leader. Her team follows her with utter devotion, and Iota is perhaps the most efficient team short of that isn't one of the three legend squads (Alpha, Beta, Delta). Malediction is stunningly beautiful as well, lusted after by most of the men in Dark Orb. She has become a symbol within the team, and her iron will leads Iota through tough times.
