- The first Death Star is destroyed by Luke Skywalker
- The Rebel Base on Yavin 4 is evacuated.
3 ABY
- The Rebel base on Hoth is invaded and destroyed by Imperial forces.
- Boba Fett collects Jabba the Hutt's bounty on Han Solo after delivering Solo encased in carbonite.
- Luke Skywalker begins training under Yoda, but ends it to rescue his friends, and loses a duel with Darth Vader on Bespin.
- Black Sun begins to collapse.
- Destruction of Drinba IV by Death Star II.
4 ABY
- The Galactic Empire falls after the death of Emperor Palpatine, Darth Vader and the Death Star II explodes. The Rebel Alliance later forms the New Republic to replace the Empire.
- Alliance to Restore the Republic becomes the Alliance of Free Planets.
- Fragmentation of the Galactic Empire.
5 ABY
- Declaration of a New Republic signed, the New Republic and the New Republic Provisional Council Established.
- Kashyyyk is liberated by the New Republic.
- Manaan is liberated by the New Republic.
