| === Master/Padawan Email Chains === | | ===Joining the Master/Padawan Program=== |
| |
| Master/Padawan Email Chains serve as a main form of communication between the Padawan, Master and Rollmaster. As soon as a Padawan in introduced into the House, the Rollmaster will set up an email chain detailing the Padawan's current goals to reach. In these email chains, the Padawan or Master is to update the Rollmaster on any completed tasks that may be used towards new promotions.
| | * New members wishing to join the program must be of the rank '''Disciple (DIS)''' or higher. |
| | * Potential Masters must be of the rank '''Jedi Knight (JK)''' or higher. |

| === Ask the Rollmaster Q&A Thread ===
| |
| |
| The "Ask the Rollmaster Q&A Thread" has been created to create an additional line of communication between the Rollmaster and anyone interested in the Master/Padawan Program that isn't quite sure about something on any given topic, or just have a question that will be beneficial as a resourse to use for future masters/Padawans. More information can be found at:
| | Applying for the program is simple: send an email to the Rollmaster indicating interest in the program. The Rollmaster will then provide the member with either a Master Survey or a Student Survey (as appropriate). This will enable the Rollmaster to find a good match for a master/student pairing relevant to interests and availabilities in order to provide a new member a mentor they can relate to. The Rollmaster will contact a potential pairing, introduce them to each other, and confirm that they are both okay with this pairing; the Master will then take responsibility for their new Padawan. |

| === Master/Padawan Reports ===
| | For pre-arranged pairings (for example, a member wishes to be the mentor for someone they recruited or a real-life friend), both members should email the Rollmaster and express this interest. |
| |
| Master/Padawan Reports are essentially emails sent out to all Masters and Padawans sent out in order for the Rollmaster to be updated on activity and gaining valuable feedback, which will be used in assuring that the Master/Padawan Program is kept entertaining, efficient, clear and concise. These Reports will often act as a 'guideline' illustrating what information should be sent to the Rollmaster. All Report emails should be replied to directly to the Rollmaster with the information asked regarding both the Program, and your respective Master or Padawan. The Rollmaster will ensure that these Reports are sent out every month to maximize communication with the Rollmaster. | | ===General Rules=== |
| | A Master may only have one active student at a time in order to prevent 'hoarding' of new members. |
| |
| ==== Special Reports: Final and Initial Reports ====
| | If a Journeyman does not have a Master but is in a Battleteam, their Battleteam Leader assumes the responsibilities of the position of Master, with the assistance of the Rollmaster. Should a Journeyman not be in a Battleteam and have no Master, the Rollmaster assumes sole responsibility as interim Master. |
| |
| While most of the Master/Student Reports will have an initial email sent out by the Rollmaster, this may not always be the case. When one takes on a Padawan, it is the Master's duty to report their Padawan's initial progress within a few weeks of taking them on as a Padawan. When any given Padawan is elevated to the rank of Jedi Knight, this is when both Masters and (former) Padawans should send the Rollmaster a final report explaining their overall performance and achievements during their time as either a Master or Padawan.
| | General policy for contact is that if a Padawan has not responded for one month with at least four attempts at contact on the Master's part, or if a Master has not responded to multiple contact attempts for two weeks, the member should contact the Rollmaster and discuss their options. |
| |
| === Master/Student RunOns ===
| | The Rollmaster has final say over all pairings. Should the Rollmaster find that without dispute a Master is not performing (eg failing to respond to student in a timely fashion, treating Padawan unfairly, etc) the Rollmaster reserves the right to reassign the Padawan to a new Master. Training a student is a privilege, not a right. If problems arise with a pairing, attempt to resolve the dispute amicably first, then take it to the Rollmaster if no solution can be found. |
| |
| Master/Student RunOns were originally planned by the Rollmaster as an activity for both Masters and Padawans to participate in. These RunOns may be anything from the Padawan's training to a mission. The 'theme' of the RunOn may be either discussed by the Master and Student or created by the Master. Depending on length, Master/Student RunOns may be used as Major House Summit Tasks. Master/Student RunOns should also run until the Padawan is promoted fully as a Jedi Knight. If there is interest by both parties, the RunOns will be allowed to continue after a member obtains the rank of Jedi Knight. Should the Master or Padawan be unable to come up with a theme, the Rollmaster may create a basic theme, from which the Master and Student may decide how their story unfolds.

This ensures that the Rollmaster is kept up to date on any progress a student may be making on tasks (for instance they may be working on a Dark Council project, or halfway through a piece of fiction). This also ensures transparent, consistent contact between student and teacher. Finally, this is a good time for both Master and Padawan to provide feedback to the Rollmaster about the Master/Padawan program and its effectiveness; this feedback will be used to improve the program. The Rollmaster may also provide suggestions based on Promotheus reports as to what a Master or Padawan could be able to do. |
