The term Foxtrot Uniform has several meanings when used by members of House Plagueis. The term itself was first used by the Dark Jedi of Old Plagueis during the Unification, and was officially adopted by Plagueis and the Jusadih Military Regime while under the rule of Braecen Kaeth. Today, under Tra'an Reith, the forces of New Plagueis use the term both in reference to the Dark Jedi they serve and to describe them as a unit during tactical planning and force allocation.

History

The use of Foxtrot Uniform to describe the Force Users of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood was first introduced by the Iron Throne's loyal forces up to and during the Unification in 30 ABY. Battling against the Jedi and droid armies loyal to Omancor Crask, the term was used as a replacement for "Force User", both to assist the soldiers in readily describing the Dark Jedi that they served and to confuse anyone listening in on the Brotherhood's communications. Following the war, several of the military groups that served the Clans of the Brotherhood continued to use the phrasing.

It was not until the return of Clan Plagueis to the Jusadih System and the concurrent uprising of feudal leaders in Jusadih under Archduke Christopher Tirk that Braecen Kaeth made the terminology a permanent standby in his military forces. The words were key in surprising or ambushing his enemies; the forces of Plagueis now had a way to openly order one another about without exposing themselves. Following the recapture of Jusadih and subsequent appointment of the Jusadih Military Regime, it became not only a standby but an official designation on the JMR's official dossiers for each Dark Jedi.

Terminology and Class

Foxtrot Uniform is a direct code for Force User, used in combat situations. The term is used to denote Dark Jedi that are a part of Plagueis. As every Plagueian soldier that doesn't die or get held back on Sigil 2 during training is indoctrinated for loyalty, they are more than aware of what a Foxtrot Uniform can do in battle, but are trained not to use terms like "the Force", "Sith", or "Jedi" to describe their dark overlords.

On a dossier, a Foxtrot Uniform designation's official explanation is as follows:

  • Special Equipment.
  • Supplemental Training, Foxtrot Class.
  • Additional Operations.

While Foxtrot Uniform does encompass all Dark Jedi in Plagueis, different terminology exists for each potential rank echelon. These are as follows:

  • Foxtrot Uniform, Third Class/Foxtrot 3 - Dark Jedi Knight
  • Foxtrot Uniform, Second Class/Foxtrot 2 - Equite
  • Foxtrot Uniform, First Class/Foxtrot 1 - Elder
  • Foxtrot Uniform, Zero Class/Foxtrot 0 - Grand Master

Journeymen are not considered Foxtrot Uniforms until the rank of Knight, at which point their combat training is sufficient for actual operational deployment.

In addition to Foxtrot Uniform, alternate terms exist for Force Users from outside Plagueis. They are as follows:

  • Friendly Force user - Double Foxtrot(literally "Force Friendly")
  • Enemy Force user - Foxtrot Charlie(Force Combatant)
  • Jedi - Papa Tango(Possible Threat)
  • PRT-JH - Foxtrot Sierra(Force Student)
  • Rogue - Foxtrot Roger(Force Renegade)

Usage

In military communications or on the battlefield, the term is used to refer to or report Dark Jedi loyal to Plagueis. This is used by the Summit to communicate with their soldiers over secure frequencies and is also useful for the soldiers to send messages to the Summit and other commanders in regard to other Plagueians. In public, it is used to refer to Dark Jedi and identifies them as "Officers" with special training. A rarely-noticed fact is that nearly all important members of government in Jusadih hold a Foxtrot Uniform designation; it's a joke among soldiers that if someone isn't a Foxtrot Uniform and wants to get somewhere, he needs to know one.

While planning tactical operations or engagements, Foxtrot Uniforms are considered as a separate special operations unit - a way for the aggressive Ascendant Clan to smoothly plan battles and operations and assess their potential member losses. The Dark Jedi of Plagueis are, in these situations, considered as a unit - each Foxtrot Uniform is ready to be attached to military operations with full consideration and understanding of his or her abilities.

Between Dark Jedi, unless while allocating forces, the term is almost never used; it exists purely for the benefit and coordination of the troops.

Trivia

  • The Foxtrot Uniform terminology first appeared in fiction for GJW VIII.
  • The first use of the term as a public dossier designation was instated during the rule of Quaestor Vorrac
  • The first use of Foxtrot Uniforms as a military unit, though not with the designation, was in the Week 1 Battleplan submission for House Plagueis. Though the submission was late, its usage set a precedent still followed to this day.
  • The classes of Foxtrot Uniform, as well as the creation of every additional Foxtrot term aside from Foxtrot Charlie, occurred during the creation of this article and is a new institution - it is used to help define what Force users can do in a battleplan.
