Doctor Naomi L'eonheart, nee Salus, of the House of Salus, was born to Lord Francis and Lady Amanda of Corellia. A family that had once held Lordship upon the planet Corellia during the reign of the Corellian Empire, their title and position on the planet holds no sway in the current Era, although unlike the House of Solo, the Salus family had been able to hold their own and keep themselves financially stable in the many years that had passed since that time. The Yuuzhan Vong War saw to family losing their much of their worth as well as their standing on Corellia. At her parent's urging, Naomi spent her young adult years studying medicine before joining the Dlarit Corporation as a Doctor to try and rebuild her family's worth and standing. Naomi stands beside Methyas Pepoi L'eonheart as his wife and mother of their child, Arcturus L'eonheart.

History

Lady of Corellia

Born in a monumental year, Naomi Salus was born on the eve of Corellia joining the New Republic. Her youngest years however were never known as happy times while war between the Republic and the Imperial Remnant remained fierce regardless of how long or bloody the combat became.

Vong Incursion

25 ABY became a year of infamy amongst the galaxy and thirteen year old Naomi had only ever known war, bloodshed and death. As the fighting grew worse and threatened to devour every living thing in the galaxy, Naomi began to throw herself more and more often into medical tents or hospitals to try to help. She had a natural gift for healing, so much so that doctors would rarely turn her away from those with lesser injuries or had recently been looked after. Those injured souls that she helped would heal faster and be back to their friends and family, or in darker situations back into the war. As the war dragged on Naomi grew into a fine young woman and her parents continuously pushed her to study medicine; after quite a fight at draining the family's wealth and leaving those who needed her aid, Naomi agreed to study medicine outside of the fold of the fighting.

Doctorate and Dlarit

Taking her studies in fringe regions of space outside of the main engagement of the Vong, Naomi had been enticed into a lucrative deal with the Dlarit Corporation after her family's dealings with them on her homeworld. The studies within the Orian system went faster than expected and Naomi performed her first duties as a licenced doctor during the Yuuzhan Vong incursion of Orian. The remainder of her career was spent aboard Dlarit Special Operations Group missions, a suggestion due to one of the higher-ranking officers. During the events on Aeotheran involving the Voice of Justice she was stationed aboard the Marakith Skyhook where she encountered Methyas Pepoi L'eonheart, a high-ranking member of the SOG who she grew very attached to.

A New Family

Naomi and Methyas grew very close in the time that followed their meeting upon the Marakith Skyhook, the events of the Ekind Uprising disrupting their time together as Methyas left to help protect the world he had called home. While she had volunteered to act as a field medic for anyone injured within the conflict, she never encountered Methyas until following the battle. While her lover seemed much more at peace than before, she could sense that he had to leave again. Shortly after the events of the conflict, Naomi and Methyas were married, celebrating their happy union until her husband left on a mission of self-discovery.

Upon the young Templar's return, he discovered Naomi's pregnancy, spending more time with his wife while he prepared his people before being summoned to Antei for the Disorder vendetta. Thankfully the event was short-lived and the young man was able to return in time to spend some much needed time with his wife. In early 34 ABY Naomi gave birth to their first child, Arcturus L'eonheart. Along with the new addition, their family had grown as Methyas had learned of his familial connection to Fremoc, Kano and Araxis as his cousins. While the time that followed was a blur for the young woman, Methyas' rising standing within the Dlarit Corporation and Naga Sadow allowed the pair to spend time together with less fear for her husband's life on the front lines.

As 35 ABY dawned, the Corporation saw a slight reorganization as Naga Sadow was restored to Clan status, her husband assuming the role of Vice-President. It was a breath of fresh air for the young woman as she assumed it meant he would effectively be pulled from the front-lines and would be safe at the end of every night for herself and their son.

Equipment and Inventory

  • Dlarit NR2 Pistol: Given to her upon being completely inducted into the Dlarit Special Operations Group, Naomi wields this weapon primarily in worst-case scenarios when any chance of further DSOG members lending aid is void.
  • Combat Knife: Another gift from Dlarit, Naomi keeps her knife available at all times not just because of the physical combat requirements but also as an instrument for in-field medical procedures.
  • Field Medical Kit: Something Naomi has kept with her since medical school, growing in a harsh galaxy has tempered Naomi to keep any form of field medical equipment on her person at all time.

Traits

Naomi is a very loving and intelligent young woman who is very fierce and strong willed when it comes to people she cares about or she becomes resolved to complete a specific task. She has an air of confidence about her that makes her very convincing. Methyas Pepoi L'eonheart has also discovered potential in her becoming a powerful Force user with the right training, although how her potential remained unnoticed for so long is quite curious.

Force Training

While Naomi is a Force sensitive, Methyas has kept her training to a minimum, partly out of his devotion to his duties to Naga Sadow and in part out of fear that she will be inducted into the Shadow Academy. With the help of her husband and Mirado, she has learned to mask herself within the Force to a degree in order to keep her sensitivity hidden from others within Naga Sadow. Beyond that, she has extremely limited control of Telekinesis and can communicate with her husband via their bond and the Force. Her skills beyond that are extremely sub-par and she would be loosely considered equivalent to that of a Novice of the Brotherhood. Without joining the Shadow Academy, her talents will remain untapped without further guidance from her family; an unlikely event as Methyas has stressed that their duties to Naga Sadow and the Brotherhood to keep her safe.

Trivia

  • Naomi was created to try and balance out the character of Methyas Pepoi L'eonheart due to his rather repetitive injuries in his Journeyman years and to create a love interest
  • Although equivalent to a Novice, Naomi will not be joining the Shadow Academy and will not be considered an active "Force User" or "Apprentice" as per the Brotherhood guidelines
