Covenant is a Victory II-class Star Destroyer under the command of the Dlarit Navy and currently the Command Ship of the First Orian Defense Line for Clan Naga Sadow. Historically the vessel was a Victory I-class Star Destroyer which underwent major refit and upgrade following the Horizons incident.

Vessel Info

The Victory I-class Star Destroyer, also known as the Victory I-class Destroyer, was a warship designed for planetary defense, planetary assault, ground troop support, and ship-to-ship combat. Despite being several decades old, the shields and hull armor of Victory I-class ships were still quite heavy compared to the other vessels currently used.

History

Won by Clan Naga Sadow in the Seventh Great Jedi War, this veteran warship has served many masters. The decorated capital ship fought in the original Defense of Sector Zero during the Clone Wars. It was eventually obtained by Clan Naga Sadow. Ravaged by the Vong, the Covenant later drifted back to Orian Space. It has been re-fitted and continues to serve the Clan.

This Victory-I class Star Destroyer began it’s service career at the shipyards of Rendili StarDrive and served during the Clone Wars under the moniker “Corsair”. This veteran “Victory Fleet” vessel saw it’s first action during the defense of Sector Zero against the Techno-Union’s fleet of Bulwark-class battle cruisers that had escaped the blockade of Foerost. Years later, it was notably on patrol near Anoat when the Battle of Hoth occurred. The ship fought several outlying skirmishes with fleeing Rebel forces. The seasoned ship was then used as planetary defense and system patrol duties in a variety of systems. The vessel was then de-commissioned and sold by the Empire as the more massive Imperial class of Star Destroyers came into wider usage.

The vessel then found it’s way into the hands of the planetary defense forces of the Corporate Sector Authority system. One important action during CSA command of the capital ship involved stopping a group of ships with designs on the Mytus prison planet. A group of raiders had decided to take advantage of a lull in security to rescue some imprisoned operatives and loot the station. This valiant ship was instrumental in repelling their ragtag group of corvettes and frigates, although she was badly damaged in the process. The ship languished in orbit after this, sadly used for storage and other ignoble functions. She served as prison overflow quarters for low-security convicts for some time.

A renegade group of Dark Jedi then attempted a takeover in the Mytus system nearly twenty-four years after the Battle of Yavin. The CSA requested help from the nearby Orian system with promises of payment, and operatives of Clan Naga Sadow swiftly arrived to crush the insurrection. As their reward, they demanded that the Victory Class vessel be turned over to them. The battered CSA forces were in no shape to argue, and grudgingly turned the gutted ship over to the victorious Sadow forces and Consul Manesh Sadow. The ship was re-fitted and re-furbished by the Dlarit Corporation. Her systems were modified and upgraded with modern parts and droids. She now serves as the Flagship of Clan Naga Sadow, having been re-christened VSD Covenant in honor of their agreement with CorSec.

She took heavy damage during the Vong Incursion. Her crew was battered, assassins stalked the corridors, and fierce hand-to-hand battles took place. Several Vong were captured and interrogated, allowing for some marginal knowledge that helped in the overall defense. The aging warrioress was battered by enemy coralskippers and capital ship analogs, including a memorable confrontation with the "Heretic's Bane" that was one of the few victories during the naval conflict.

The original commanding officer at this time was Captain Shivak, who was force-choked to death by Macron for cowardice. He was later replaced by Araic Simonetti, who masterfully guided the veteran ship to survival.

During the Invasion of Orian, the recently crippled Covenant faced off against the VSDII Dark Fusion. With fighter support from nearby Sepros as well as from Platform Obsidian and Platform Onyx, she emerged battered but victorious.

• The Covenant underwent a major retrofit and upgrade following the events of "Chasing Horizons", the ship effectively modified to the point it is now recognized as a Victory II-class destroyer as well as the addition of four (4) Gravity Well Projectors installed within the updated hull with the notable domes marring the typically clean design.
