Below are a list of former Council or Dark Summit positions that no longer serve the club. This information is recorded for historical purposes and has no bearing on the current state of the Dark Brotherhood.

Commander of the Guard
The 'Commander of the Guard oversaw the Grand Master's Royal Guard for many years before the society as a whole was dissolved. When the GMRG was reborn years later, leadership was placed in the hands of the Fist of the Brotherhood. See the main article for a list of former Commanders and Fists.
Throughout its many years of service, the Grand Master's Royal Guard saw the appointment of many Commanders. Though some names have been lost to time, below serves as a list of the former Commander's of the Guard, in order of most recent to earliest.

Jedi Jester
Jedi Jester was a short-lived Council position in the early days of the Brotherhood. It was held only by the comedic master, Veelon. Veelon was charged with keeping the AOL message boards littered with Jedi-laced comedy and providing an overall light atmosphere for the Brotherhood. The position was disbanded after Veelon became inactive.
Retired: Unknown.

Lord Archon
Lord Archon was the full-time assistant to the Seneschal with duties, power, and authority identical to that of the Seneschal. The position was dissolved into the standard practice of Dark Council positions electing a Praetor.
Lord Chamberlain
Grand Master Jac Cotelin created the position of Lord Chamberlain as, as he later put it, "a retirement home for old farts like me when we stepped down from GM." The position was filled intermittently during the Emperor's Hammer years with high ranking Dark Jedi before falling into disuse. After the Exodus, Jac reopened the position with a new mandate:
Having once served as the Grand Master's personal advisor, the position was left unfilled through the reins of many Grand Masters. After the yoke of Emperor's Hammer tyranny was thrown off the Dark Botherhood, the position was reinstated, but with a new purpose. What is known about the Lord Camberlain is that part of the function of his office is similiar to that of a diplomat. Contacting various other factions, organizations and warlords, the Lord Chamberlain builds alliances that are profitable to the Dark Brotherhood. Furthermore, the Lord Chamberlain still serves as an advisor to the Grand Master, though to what extent it is unknown.
The Lord Chamberlain will do just as its description says, serving as a much-needed link between us and other organizations. The LCH will also be vital in the Dark Council efforts to implement new ideas within the Brotherhood.

Lord Hegemon
The Lord Hegemon was tasked with the development and maintenance of the role-playing aspects of the Brotherhood. Lord Hegemon was a truly unique position in that it initially focuses on development and then shifts towards administration. The Lord Hegemon worked with the complex role-playing system, developing a character system that gives due weight to awards, rank, position and time served. The Lord Hegemon ensured balance in this system and works with the Grand Master and Seneschal to make it as real and manageable as possible.
Within this system, the Lord Hegemon was responsible for developing lists and statistics for items, including weapons, clothing, ships and other military vehicles. The Lord Hegemon was solely responsible for the development of legal races. Finally, the Lord Hegemon worked with the other Dark Council members and the Clans in the proper oversight of the Brotherhood powers, Clan powers, school powers and order powers.
Lord Marshal
Lord Marshal was a position created to oversee the various societies of the Brotherhood. The Lord Marshal was tasked with making sure Society Leaders ran these societies properly as well as appointing new leaders where necessary. The position’s responsibilities were ultimately absorbed into that of the Grand Master and Deputy Grand Master.

Oracle
The Oracle of the Brotherhood was responsible for updating the Dark Side Compendium and editing the Dark Voice newsletters. The Oracle was a position on the main body of the Dark Council, but at one time was listed among the Advisors.
Order Leaders
Order Leaders were the figureheads of each path Dark Jedi of the Brotherhood could walk. Each was tasked with running order-specific competitions as well as co-organizing order feuds, and in some cases the order leader was, to those in his or her order, of comparable power to the Grand Master. Order Leaders once took up house summit positions when houses could align themselves to a specific order, and each order was given a set of characteristic tasks as follows:
- Krath - fiction activities
- Obelisk - first person shooter activities like Jedi Knight, Jedi Outcast, Jedi Academy
- Sith - Star Wars flight sims
Over time, the relevance of orders in a member’s role playing was downplayed until eventually the need for order specific leaders had diminished; thus the positions were dissolved.
Sith High Warrior
Traditionally, the Sith were those Dark Jedi who wished to be pilots. Due to the long-term alliance with the Emperor's Hammer, many of the Sith Order were members of the TIE Corps, leading to hard fragmentation during the Exodus.

Coming later than the other two Order Leaders, the Obelisk High Commander was the finest warrior in the Brotherhood, although this title was frequently disputed by the Commander of the Guard.
