The Plagueis Summit is the governing body of House Plagueis and the Command body of its system government, the Jusadih Military Regime. As the Ascendant House has a unique viewpoint on the Brotherhood and an ever-adapting way of doing things, each of its Summit Positions perform a very specific job. However, with each new appointment comes change, and thus these changes are recorded for the use of its members.
Summit Members
These members comprise the Plagueis Summit and control the affairs of the House. Bear in mind that as the House grows, changes, and adapts, so too must its Summit, and thus these duties and assignments will change quite regularly.
Quaestor: The Will of Plagueis
The Quaestor of Plagueis functions as the administrative head of the Ascendant House, and works with the Dark Council and the other Houses and Clans for the best interests of Plagueis. To the public, he acts as the Supreme Commander of Jusadih's Military Regime; he is in full and absolute command of both the Ascendant Legion and Fleet, and is the Jusadih System's dictator. In Dark Jedi capacity, he is the Will of Plagueis, directing the House in its doings and dealings and guiding his Summit to accomplish his goals. In essence, he is as a King - while not directly on the battlefield, every troop movement and decree issues from the Quaestor's Throne.
Current Quaestor: Tra'an Reith
Duties
- Plan major events for Plagueis.
- Plan out the Plagueian storyline.
- Make or authorize any changes in Plagueian policies and standards.
- Liaise with the Dark Council and Dark Summit on behalf of Plagueis.
- Get to know members and listen to ideas and suggestions.
- Monitor the Aedile and Rollmaster at all times to ensure their duties are fulfilled.
- Police the Plagueian Summit and ensure no weakness, laziness, or inappropriate behavior creeps in.
- Train the Aedile to learn the duties of the Quaestor, that they may step into the Quaestor's role when he moves on.
Aedile: The Right Hand of Plagueis
The Aedile of Plagueis is as a General to his King; while the Quaestor decrees and plans, the Aedile executes his will. It is in this manner that the Aedile is a sort of project manager, learning how to administrate the Quaestor's duties while also accomplishing his goals. The Aedile may do this either by personally completing projects and assignments, assigning them to active and eager members, or both. Thus, the Aedile is the Right Hand of Plagueis - his actions directly create the future and motivate the membership. In character, his Dark Jedi role is to be the Quaestor's Executor; if the Quaestor wishes something accomplished or enforced, he sends the Aedile. In addition, the Aedile plays the role of the High Commander, having command of the Ascendant Fleet and Legion with exception to the Intelligence Directorate - subordinate only to the Supreme Commander.
Current Aedile: Sarak Shai
Duties
Currently, the duties of the Aedile include the following.
- Create and execute project plans with the Quaestor.
- Complete any and all projects personally, or delegate them to satisfactory members.
- Manage the duties of all delegates and their assistants.
- Follow up on projects, ensuring completion.
- Run Competitions to engage the Knighted members of the House and advance the Storyline.
- Oversee the Commander of Primus Pilus, and train him to become the Aedile once the current Aedile moves on.
Rollmaster: The Left Hand of Plagueis
The Rollmaster of Plagueis administrates the Plagueian Path, ensuring and monitoring the training and activity of members new and old alike. He works with the Taskmaster to ensure new Students receive proper education while also maintaining a system of observation and reporting to keep the Quaestor informed on House activity, mood, and progress. Finally, he acts as an encouraging and guiding voice, directly working to keep the members of the House active - thus acting as the Left Hand of Plagueis. In character, he acts as the Inquisitor General of the Intelligence Directorate as well as the overseer of all Masters and Students, using these two assets to keep the Quaestor well-informed and the House functioning smoothly on a direct level.
Current Rollmaster: TBA
Duties
Currently, the duties of the Rollmaster include the following.
- Maintain all Master/Student Pairings.
- Maintain the Plagueis mailing list.
- Contact members of the House regularly to ensure their entertainment and activity.
- Decide the worthiness of potential Masters.
- Help Students and Masters in search of education or pupils to find one another.
- Run Training Mission competitions for the Students and Prospects of the House, involving their Masters when applicable.
- Train the Taskmaster in the duties of the Rollmaster, that they might replace the Rollmaster when he steps aside.
Summit Assistants
These members, while not a true part of the Summit, still assist it in Battleteam or unofficial capacities. Outside of Battleteams, their positions do not carry any true power and exist only to aid and eventually succeed the Leadership.
Primus Pilus: The Blade of Plagueis
Fierce, ruthless, and unafraid - these traits describe Primus Pilus, the Quaestor's personal strike team, and are embodied by the Commander. The Commander of Pilus operates in public as part of the Supreme Commander's inner circle and commands Pilus as his bodyguards in the spotlight, while in reality performing these duties and any others necessary to ensure the stability of the Summit's power and the safety of the Dark Council's chosen Quaestor. In practice, the Commander administrates Battleteam Primus Pilus, while also learning the duties and functions of the Aedile, that they may one day succeed him. Finally, the Commander trains two Flight Leaders - Superior and Minor - to compete against one another in order to take his own post when they are ready. This ensures that there is always another potential leader in Plagueis.
Current Commander: Kal di Plagia Vorrac
Duties
- Create competitions and events for Primus Pilus that mesh with the Summit storyline.
- Create and maintain a set of clear-cut, easy to read policies for the Team.
- Appoint Flight Leaders to positions Minor and Superior.
- Train Flight Leaders on subjects like Wiki maintenance, competition planning, event planning, reporting, and conflict mediation.
- Maintain and improve the Pilus Article on the Wiki.
- Seek new members for the team at no rank lower than Protector.
- Train the Leader Minor and Superior to compete for position until the Superior is ready for Command, then step down and allow the Superior to choose his own Flight Leaders and repeat the cycle.
Taskmaster: The Lash of Plagueis
The Taskmaster of Plagueis operates as an extension of the Rollmaster and indeed trains for the superior role; an unofficial position, this is nevertheless a vital one as it oversees the Journeymen of the House. Each Taskmaster's methods are as different as the Mantles they wear, and yet, they have one goal in mind: Weeding out the weak and fostering strength and power in the new blood of Plagueis. In practice, all Taskmasters share certain tools, policies, and duties, but as long as the Rollmaster and the Quaestor agree with their methods they are free to do as they please.
Current Taskmaster: Dacien Victae
Duties
- Email all Journeymen on a regular basis to encourage activity.
- Assist any and all Journeymen that need help.
- Inform Journeymen about vital site resources - Shadow Academy, Forums, Wiki, IRC, etc.
- Keep Journeymen up to date on future promotion requirements.
- Recommend active Students to the Battleteam and/or for Mastery whenever they are prepared.
- Learn the duties of the Rollmaster in order to succeed him when he moves on.
- Report to the Rollmaster on Journeyman activity on a weekly basis.
Webmaster: The Artisan of Plagueis
The Webmaster exists, as the name implies, to manage the Plagueis Website. The exact duties, responsibilities, and freedoms vary heavily, and are primarily related to the association between the Webmaster and the rest of the Summit; if the Webmaster is trusted and experienced, they have quite a bit of freedom. A newer one or one whom a summit member has doubts about is far more restricted. Unlike most members of the Summit and their Assistants, the Webmaster rarely plays a true fictional role outside that of their own character; their work goes on behind the scenes, but is essential to all of the Ascendant House.
Current Webmaster: Unus Domus
Duties
- Maintain Leadership, Webteam, and Summit sections on Plagueis Website main page.
- Maintain competition list for Plagueis and Battleteams.
- Assist members with navigating Plagueis website.
- Assist summit members with learning how to use the website for their duties.
- Keep Plagueis Website main page updated
- Train future Webmasters; outside help cannot be relied upon, and Plagueis must learn to draw from within.
Members and Assistants: Assignment of Duty
The Summit of Plagueis is in command of all aspects of the House, and assigns its duties properly and intelligently. However, at times, the Summit alone cannot handle the full burden before them. It is in this time that Summit Assistants take up roles, whether already existing or newly created. Summit members like the Quaestor, Aedile, and Rollmaster handle major tasks, creating a storyline, a future, and an activity base for the House while ensuring Plagueis grows and lives on no matter what.
Summit Assistants are often in training roles, while performing lesser duties or duties too numerous for one Summit member to handle. In this way, they get a sense of duty while still performing pivotal roles. While Summit assistants are rarely in official roles of power and never too high on the food chain, assisting the Quaestor, Aedile, and Rollmaster is an invaluable way to gain skill and garner rewards and promotions.
Ascendant Succession - Training the Future
The entirety of the Plagueian Summit is designed with one goal in mind: Ascendant Succession. A problem of Plagueis has traditionally been a lack of leaders to pass the torch to; to combat this trend, every position up to Quaestor trains one to fill its shoes. At the bottom of the pile, the Commander of Pilus trains two Flight Leaders, one Minor and one Superior, in the skills they need for the job; the Flight Leader to replace the Commander repeats the process, while the Commander becomes a candidate for Aedile.
The Aedile position exists to learn from the Quaestor as well as to ensure the Quaestor's work is accomplished; in the same way that a Flight Leader will take over certain Commander duties to learn how to do them properly, so too will the Aedile's work ready him or her for Quaestor. The Quaestor is the vital component here; if a Leader stops teaching or refuses to learn, he must take action and prevent the stagnation of the Summit.
The Rollmaster and Taskmaster positions exist with this duality, as do the Masters of the Plagueian Master/Student Program. Masters train their Students to be Knights while at the same time learning how to instruct new members. In time, certain Masters become Taskmasters, overseeing all of the Journeymen and their instruction and learning what it takes to teach new members. Ultimately, the Rollmaster teaches the Taskmaster how to do his or her job and maintain the Master/Student Program, using prerequisite experience to ensure everyone is doing their job. In a similar manner, the Webmaster instructs individuals on the finer points of maintenance; these are usually summit members or summit assistants, as Webmaster is a low intensity job and can, in an emergency, be handled in addition to other duties.
Altogether, the structure of the entire Summit is built to keep going if a position is lost and to instruct new members for the future - both key components of a successful Brotherhood House.
