| Rendered from solid shanks of hollinium, Crescents are cast symbolically in the shape of the Dark Star eclipsing the Brotherhood home-world of Antei. Each Crescent is studded with ancient jewels from the uncovered stores of the warlord Okemi. One to seven jewels, ranging from quartz to diamond, are displayed along the Crescent’s edge dependant upon the jewel’s value. It is believed these jewels still echo with the dark power of Okemi. Those Dark Jedi most active within the Brotherhood possess quite a collection of these awards
| | Crescents are awarded for placing in non-Vendetta competitions. Cast from hollinium in the shape of the dark star eclipsing the former Brotherhood homeworld of Antei. Each crescent is studded with jewels varying from quartz to diamond, dependent upon its value. Imbued with dark energy, these jewels are believed to be taken from the stores of Sith Lord Okemi. The most active members of the Brotherhood possess quite a collection of crescents. |

|
| Awarded for: Achieving a first, second or third place ranking in any official, non-Vendetta event. Crescents are organized into levels - the lower the level of the competition-type, the higher the crescent. If a competition has three or less participants, the level of the competition will automatically be raised by one
| | ==Tiering== |
| | | Crescents are automatically processed by the database when a competition is judged and closed. The following outlines the appropriate crescent tier based on the target unit: |

|
| | Additionally, crescent tiers scale as follows: |
| | * Upgrade one tier at a scaling threshold of participation (crescents may only upgrade once per competition) |
| | * Parent competitions with three or more sub-competitions run one tier higher than their sub-competitions |
| | |
| | ===First Level=== |
| | These elite crescents are reserved for Brotherhood-wide competitions hosted by members of the Council, Society Leaders, or special events, such as the Independence Games, which garner large numbers of participants. |
|
| |
|
| Second Level: A competition that takes a substantial effort from its participants, but is probably a stand-alone competition or small-scale series of events. Second Level Crescents may be awarded for large-scale events such as a Clan Feud. A Krath Monthly Topic is an example of a Second level event.

| Third Level: These are medium-level competitions. They require a fair-amount of work or attendance, but are not overly demanding. Small-scale DB-wide competitions, semi-regular melee nights and most Clan competitions will fall into this category.
