The Art of Vendetta

In order to maintain structure, honor and fair play in any competition between Battleteams, Houses and Clans, the following rules have been formulating governing such events within the Dark Brotherhood. However, in order to prevent the decendence of the houses into total chaos, the following rules or the "Art of Vendetta" will be strictly enforced.

Part I: The General Directives

  • The Forms of the Art of Vendetta must be obeyed.
  • No House shall make war upon another with which it is joined in a Clan.
  • No House may make war upon itself or any of its factions.
  • No Clan may make war upon its conjoined Houses.
  • No House or Clan may interfere in the conflicts of another House or Clan.
  • No Clan may take steps to recruit members of another Clan.
  • All Houses and Clans will follow the directives of the Dark Council regarding House conflicts.
  • Competitions must be submitted to and approved by the Deputy Grand Master before proceeding.
  • Members must be in a Battleteam or part of a Clan/House summit to participate in Vendettas and sanctioned competitions.

Part II: The Forms of Vendetta

Vendettas can take the following forms.

  • Rite of Supremacy - At this level, Clans will battle for supremacy in the Brotherhood in the form of earning the titles of First Clan, Second Clan, and Third Clan of the Brotherhood. In addition, Houses battle to earn respective titles pertaining to their aligned Order.
  • Great Jedi War - At this level, Clans will battle for rewards decided upon by the Dark Council.
  • Clan Feud - At this level, two Clans will directly war upon one another in an attempt to win the possessions of the other.
  • Sanctioned competition - This is a competition that has been given the expressed approval of the Deputy Grand Master. It can include an internal Battleteam competition or competitions involving a House or a Clan. It also covers inter-Clan competitions that do not fall into the format of Clan Feuds.

Part III: The Spoils of War

Awards for a Rite of Supremacy

The titles of First Clan, Second Clan, and Third Clan of the Brotherhood will be awarded to those Clans which show the top three places of supremacy. In addition, the first three placing Houses of each Order shall receive a title relating to their placing and Order (ie. First House of the Sith, Second House of the Sith, etc). Lastly, placing individuals are usually awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze Novae.

Awards for a Great Jedi War

The awards presented to the victor of a Great Jedi War will be decided upon individually by the Dark Council. In addition, placing individuals are usually awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze Novas.

Awards for a Clan Feud

The victorious Clan shall take one of the possessions of the losing Clan. The possessions at stake must be approved by the Dark Council beforehand.

Awards for a Sanctioned competition

Awards take form in the Gold, Silver and Bronze Novas.

Part IV: Penalties for Violation of the Art of Vendetta

In the unlikely event that "foul play" is suspected, the Dark Council should be contacted immediately. Penalties may include, but are not limited to: invalidation of scores, demotion of involved individuals and/or penalization of involved House or Clan. Cheating can include the following:

  • Submitting doctored or edited pilot files
  • Editing missions, battles, levels etc to give an unfair advantage
  • Submitting pilot files, fiction, graphics, etc. that you did not create yourself
  • Using patches, trainers, etc. to give yourself an unfair advantage
  • Colluding with another party to further your position on a ladder or other event
  • Knowingly exploiting bugs, errors, omissions, etc in a mission, battle or level
  • Using Clones to gain more points.
  • Conducting yourself in an unfit manner, such as exploiting unfair holes in rules, bullying members into conspiring with you to exploit such holes, bullying members into breaking the rules and any other general conduct that may bring your Clan and the Vendetta into disrepute.

Part V: Transfers during DB-wide events

To prevent abuse of the transfer system and to prevent the problem of people moving into clans solely for the purpose of participation in one large event, it is hereby ordered that all inter-clan transfers stop one week prior to any DB-wide event, and continue that way until the event's end.

Rogue Dark Jedi may still transfer into clans, but under no circumstances are they allowed to participate in said event.
