The Scholae Palatinae Military is the collection of the Armed Forces of Scholae Palatinae and consists of all elements necessary to help ensure the security of all assets and interests. It consists of five major subordinate elements: Praetorian Guard, Imperial Legion, Imperial Scholae Navy, Scholae Palatinae Fighter Corps and Scholae Palatinae Intelligence. It is headed by the Emperor of the Caperion System and Quaestor of the Empire's Chosen, with support from the Grand Marshal as second in command.

History

The history of the Scholae Palatinae Military dates back to the Exodus in 19 ABY, as the Clan moved to their new home in the Cocytus System given to them by the Seven, it was established during the initial attempts at control in the system. No formal structure existed during the instability of the first year as leadership changed hands and an Empire was being formed, but a non Force sensitive military had been created on the different planets of the system, and although fractured was the start of what would become a great military force.

During the years that followed, the Consul would assume the role of Emperor of the Cocytus System and along with the Proconsul would pull all military forces under control of the House under the title of Scholae Palatinae Military. A rapid expansion of policy, training and recruiting would follow, with different independent units following their own commanders and missions while the Clan focused on their own affairs.

After the Reclamation of Judecca in 27 ABY, Scholae Palatinae took many losses in the areas of personnel and equipment, so the Summit saw fit to recruit new troops and refit old machinery to compete in today’s galactic warfare. Under the direction of the Supreme Commander of Military Forces, Phoenix Olkyssagh Palpatine; and his Grand Marshal, Lucien Kaeth; the military was reorganized into a cohesive unit, with each sub unit having a very defined mission and purpose.

Upon Scholae Palatinae's move to the Caperion System the military forces of Scholae Palatinae took a more magnanimous posture, focusing on system defense, holding sovereignty of space, and slowly taking territory as opposed to all out subjugation.

Chain of Command

The Empress of the Caperion System has the highest authority over the Scholae Palatinae Military, while the Grand Marshal is the principal assistant in all these same matters. Together they exercise control over the entire military down through the respective War Councilor at the head of the different major subordinate elements. Each individual element performs their duties and carries out orders under authority, direction and control of its respective War Councilor, and work together during joint missions and operations falling under the authority of the Grand Marshal. The only exception to this is the Praetorian Guard, who at all times receives orders only from the Empress unless that authority is directly transferred elsewhere by the Empress.

Imperial Legion

The Imperial Legion is the main offensive unit within the armed forces of Scholae Palatinae, headquartered on Caelestis City. The Imperial Legion is currently formed by the veteran's of the Imperial Scholae Army that returned from the war on Arx. A fully multi-armed forced, it is composed of several Regiments consisting of fourImperial Line Regiments. Each Imperial Line Regiment has a Light Infantry Battalion, two Line Infantry Battalions, and a Assault Battalion.

Imperial Scholae Navy

The Fleet of Scholae Palatinae encompasses the entirety of capital starships within Scholae Palatinae. What was once a diminished flotilla after the flight from Cocytus and the devastation at Arx has been reforged to encompass a strong Star Destroyer force capable of asserting Imperial might, subjugating the Caperion System, and delivering a crushing blow upon any enemy Clan. The Imperial-II Class Star Destroyer Palpatine serves as the flagship. The Imperial Scholae Navy consists of the following:

Praetorian Guard

The Praetorian Guard serves as the personal guard unit of the Empress and leadership of Scholae Palatinae. They are based on Caelestis City, and operate as an autonomous unit as part of the overall military under direct authority of the Empress alone. A cadre always attend to the Empress as well as a detachment to the ISN Palpatine.

Scholae Palatinae Fighter Corps

The Scholae Palatinae Fighter Corps, commonly referred to as the TIE Corps, encompasses the entirety of the Clan's starfighter force. They serve a multitude of missions, from close range air support to space superiority. The current composition of the Fighter Corps are all Tie Defender multi-role attack craft, and can be deployed on a moment’s notice from the starships of the Imperial Scholae Navy.

Imperial Scholae Intelligence

Main article: Imperial Scholae Intelligence

Imperial Scholae Intelligence is the central intelligence service in support of the Scholae Palatinae military and all of its collective elements. As its own autonomous branch of the military, there are covert operations carried out and is responsible for watching all activities internal to the Caperion System as well as external to ensure the safety and security of Clan Scholae Palatinae interests.

Commissioned Officers

The commissioned officers are the managers, problem-solvers, and key planners in a position of authority who lead and command enlisted soldiers in all situations. Where enlisted soldiers may have control or charge in positions of authority, they will not have official command without a commission. They derive this authority directly from the Empress of Scholae Palatinae and as such hold a commission document charging them with the duties and responsibilities of their respective office or position.

These commissioned officers have the skills, the training, and the character needed to inspire and encourage others. They embrace and embody the Core Army Values and apply them to every decision they make and every action they take. This training in leadership in management comes along with certain specialties depending on their intended specific function.

This authority is different from rank, where a superior officer will be anyone with a higher rank, and subordinate officer will be those with a lower rank. An officer’s rank can range from Officer Candidate to Surface Marshal.

Enlisted Ranks

Enlisted soldiers put plans into action. Much like employees at a company, Enlisted soldiers perform specific job functions and have the knowledge that ensures the success of their unit’s current mission within the Army. They perform specific job functions of their own specialty as apposed to the command responsibilities of commissioned officers.

An Enlisted Soldier’s rank can range from Private to Sergeant Major or Mastery Gunnery Sergeant.
