Weapons
The galaxy is the home of many individuals, and a vast majority of these are not Force sensitive. Where a Force user uses a Lightsaber as a weapon of choice, the Non-Force user will utilize a different weapon altogether. ‘’’Ranged’’’ and ‘’’Melee’’’ weapons fall into this category. This page will explain how these two weapon categories work in the Dark Brotherhood.
How they work

‘’’Ranged weapons’’’ are divided into two categories: Blasters and Slughtrowers.
Where blasters fire bursts of particle beam energy called blaster bolts from a replaceable power pack, slughtrowers - true to their name - launch a solid projectile (a "slug") at a high velocity through a process of explosive chemical combustion.
Both types of weapons are popular due to their unique qualities. Blasters are often regarded as superior due to their immense stopping power and high-energy fire which can sear flesh and burn through armor. They are, however, quite easily deflected by Force users handling lightsabers. Slugthrowers, on the other hand, are hard to deflect with a lightsaber but they are much more rare than blasters and require specialized ammunition which is often not available.
‘’’Melee weapons’’’ are a popular alternative to Lightsabers. These are divided into Vibroweapons and common melee weapons made from a wide variety of materials.
Vibroweapons are usually considered superior to common melee weapons due to their high-speed sonic vibrations that make these weapons more deadly in combat. These weapons used vibrations generated from a Vibrogenerator, often found in the hilt of the weapon, to cause a rippling effect in organic and nonorganic materials. These vibrations reverberate through the object, or body, and rend it with ease. The other side of the coin were common melee weapons, found in the hands of common bandits and master martial artists alike. These weapons, while lacking the vibration quality of their more powerful counterparts, still maintain a presence in society due to their availability and utilitarian qualities.
Obtaining a Ranged or Melee weapon
In the Dark Brotherhood, members first gain access to a Dagger or Basic Blaster when they join. As they progress through the ranks, they are permitted more advanced weapons such as carbines, swords, axes, heavy weapons and others. When a member reaches a certain rank, they will gain access to a Basic Carbine and a Vibro Short Sword. The next tier may be unlocked by reaching the rank of Knight. At this tier members unlock selector pistols, carbines or shotguns and vibro swords (long, short, two handed).
Members that reach Equite 1 are permitted the use of Armory Dual pistols, Sniper rifles, Heavy weapons, Armory Dual Weapons and Force pikes. At Equite 2 members may use Special weapons and specialized Weapon and grenade combinations. The Equite 3 rank unlocks Dual weapon combinations (Sniper+pistol, carbine+pistol, shotgun+pistol, etc.) as well as all Dual melee weapons as well as Dual-Bladed Vibro Weapons.
Creation
Any member of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood may use the Weapon Construction Tool found on their administration page to choose a weapon for themselves, based on their rank, Society status and Clan allegiance.
The tool is located on the administration page, under "My Dossier". Once inside the tool, the member must select weapon, style and color and, once satisfied with the desired look, press the "Submit" button located below the three drop-down menus. This weapon will then be displayed on their dossier. Weapons may freely be changed at will, depending on the member's preferences and aesthetic tastes.
All modern Weapons come in at least five different styles and four different bolt colors (or a smoke trail for Slugthrowers), while older weapons may only have up to three styles and four blade colors depending on the design.
Custom Melee & Ranged weapons
At the Equite 2 rank, a member is permitted to request, or manufacture himself, a custom melee or ranged weapons.
Melee Weapons
Melee weapons are usually Vibro weapons, however some may prefer mundane weapons instead. They are requested, and created, much like Lightsabers. The requesting member will receive a fully customized weapon.
Melee weapons are open to all Orders and Paths.
Ranged Weapons
Ranged weapons can be Blasters, Slugthrowers, or other weapon types. Unlike Lightsabers or Melee weapons, however, Ranged Weapons are created based on pre-made templates. These templated are heavily inspired by Star Wars canon weaponry to fit the Club thematically. A member can request any combination of parts displayed below from any of the categories they are entitled to.
Depending on rank within the Brotherhood, members will receive additional options. Review the tables below for more information.
IMPORTANT NOTE: While the shapes and models are determined by the templates, colors and additional effects are not. For example, a member requesting a slugthrower sniper rifle may request that it be covered in ghilie or some other type of camouflage, likewise for any other ranged weapon. Likewise anyone requesting a fully custom ranged weapon may select the materials they want as well as and non-mod additions, such as additional logos, buttons, panels, lights, or similar cosmetic modifications. All you have to do is explain in detail what you want. The mods and templates are here to limit the scope of the ranged weapons to the Star Wars aesthetic, not to limit your customizalibility of the weapons. Also don't be scared to ask the Herald staff if you have any questions.
The Herald is the Dark Council member who is responsible for creating and uploading custom melee weapons.
