Dark Jedi Brotherhood Timeline

The Dark Jedi Brotherhood exists in the decades following the Fall of the Empire and the final death of Emperor Palpatine in 11 ABY.

The current year is 25 ABY.

DB Timeline

Old Republic Era

• c. 5100 BBY Old Republic Era
  • The Okemi Uprising; the Sith Lord Okemi rebels against Dark Lord Marka Ragnos and is exiled to the planet Antei.
  • Okemi comes to be regarded by the native inhabitants of Antei as a god and uses his influence to become their King.

• c. 3990 BBY Old Republic Era
  • In the aftermath of the Great Sith War, two Sith cultists, a Mecrosa assassin called Ferran and a Krath sorceress called Taimat, discover the lost Antei System. There they find its primitive people and their leader, Okemi, the ancient Sith Lord, kept alive by transferring his essence to a new body each time his grew old.
  • Together Okemi, Ferran and Taimat found the Star Chamber.
  • Feran starts his own cult which he names the Obelisk, based on his beliefs as a member of the Mecrosa Order, one of the surviving Sith cults.

• c. 3950 BBY Old Republic Era
  • When his body fails him, Okemi attempts to possess Taimat, however she is too strong and resists. The ritual fails, leaving Okemi's spirit in limbo. The ancient Sith Lord is driven insane, neither alive nor dead, his essence begins to leech onto any living creature around him, trying to draw himself back to life.
  • Taimat, realising the monster Okemi has become, attempts to collapse the Antei System's star to destroy Okemi, rather than allow his hate to consume the galaxy.
  • Ferran, now under the influence of Okemi, kills Taimat before the ritual can be completed. Instead of going super nova, the star becomes a bottomles hole of darkness, consuming the light of the Antei System. The Shroud of Antei, a nebula field that encompasses the system, is destabilized in the process, making it impossible to traverse and sealing the Antei System away from the rest of the galaxy.
  • At least one of Ferran's Obelisk cultists manages to survive the destruction of the Antei System and goes on to build a temple in the Minos Cluster.

Rebellion Era

• 4 ABY Rebellion Era
  • The Battle of Endor. The Death Star II is destroyed. The Emperor and Darth Vader are killed.
  • The Alliance to Restore the Republic becomes the Alliance of Free Planets.
  • Kane, one of the Emperor's surviving Dark Side Adepts, goes into exile to acquire the knowledge he requires to rebuild the Sith.
  • Lumiya, one of the Emperor's Hands and the former Sith apprentice of Darth Vader, declares herself Dark Lady of the Sith and takes Flint, one of Vader's other apprentices as her own.
  • Lumiya tries to use the Nagai and Tofs to spark a war to destroy the New Republic but is defeated and left for dead. Flint is redeemed by Luke Skywalker.
  • The Imperial Civil War begins as the Galactic Empire starts to fragment with many Imperial Warlords going rogue.

• 5 ABY New Republic Era
  • The Alliance of Free Planets is reorganised into the New Republic.

• 7 ABY New Republic Era
  • The New Republic captures Coruscant.

• 9 ABY New Republic Era
  • Grand Admiral Thrawn returns from the Unknown Regions and begins to reunify the Galactic Empire and recruits the mad clone Dark Jedi Master Joruus C'baoth to his cause. After almost bringing the New Republic to its knees, Thrawn is defeated when his own Noghri bodyguards betray him.

• 10 ABY New Republic Era
  • Reborn into a clone body, Emperor Palpatine returns to reunify the Galactic Empire and reclaim Coruscant. Launching attacks from his throneworld Byss in the Deep Core, the resurrected Emperor threatens to destroy the New Republic. Luke Skywalker briefly falls to the dark side before being redeemed by his sister.
  • Palpatine is betrayed by one of his own Royal Guards, Carnor Jax. Jax, an aspiring Sith Lord and Lumiya's new apprentice, has the Emperor's supply of clones sabotaged.

New Republic Era

• 11 ABY (1995) New Republic Era
  • The reborn Emperor is defeated by the Jedi on Onderon.
  • The Galactic Empire briefly falls under the rule of Carnor Jax as Emperor until he is killed by the Royal Guardsman Kir Kanos.
  • The Yuuzhan Vong agent Nom Anor helps to further destabilise the Imperial Remnant, planting evidence that aides Kir Kanos in eliminating the surviving members of the Imperial Ruling Council, ending with Emperor Xandel Carivus.
  • After the death of the Imperial Ruling Council, the Galactic Empire falls under the command of Admiral Daala as Supreme Commander of the Imperial Fleet.
  • Luke Skywalker founds the Jedi Praxeum on Yavin IV. Exar Kun's spirit is destroyed.
  • Kane returns from exile and becomes Dark Lord of the Sith. The Dark Brotherhood is established.
  • Kane departs, Jedgar O. Paladin becomes the new Dark Lord.

• 12 ABY (1996) New Republic Era
  • Admiral Daala is defeated and makes Admiral Gilad Pellaeon Supreme Commander.
  • The Galactic Empire fragments and becomes the Imperial Remnant. Admiral Pellaeon orders what is left of the Empire to withdraw from the Core.
  • Desann, a Dark Jedi from the Empire Reborn, uses the Valley of the Jedi to augment his followers with the Force and mounts an unsuccessful attack on the Jedi Praxeum.
  • Kreeyat Havok becomes the new Dark Lord of the Sith.

• 13 ABY (1997) New Republic Era
  • The Other becomes Dark Lord of the Sith.
  • First Brotherhood Civil War; after unearthing the ruins of an ancient Obelisk temple, the Other resurrects the Obelisk Order before abdicating the Iron Throne and fleeing the Dark Brotherhood to pursue his own ends. He is hunted down and killed by Jac Cotelin.
  • Jac Cotelin succeeds the Other as Dark Lord of the Sith.
  • Using the information contained in one of the holocrons from the Obelisk ruins, Jac Cotelin resurrects the concept of the Star Chamber, itself based on the Sith Council of the Old Sith Empire, as an advisory body to the Dark Lord of the Sith.

• 14 ABY (1998) New Republic Era
  • Lumiya kills her former apprentice Flint on Belderone.
  • Tavion, the Dark Jedi apprentice of Desann, attempts to resurrect Marka Ragnos but is defeated by Jaden Korr.
  • Justinian Khyron becomes Dark Lord of the Sith.

• 15 ABY (1999) New Republic Era
  • Stryker briefly becomes Dark Lord before the return of Khyron.
  • Thedek becomes Dark Lord of the Sith.

• 16 ABY (2000) New Republic Era
  • Archibald Zoraan becomes Dark Lord of the Sith.

• 17 ABY (2001) New Republic Era
  • The Third Great War erupts between the Clans after the discovery of an ancient suit of Dark Armor.
  • Archibald Zoraan is driven mad by the Dark Armor and is deposed following an unsuccessful rebellion, he is succeeded by Chi-Long.
  • Firefox becomes Dark Lord of the Sith.

• 18 ABY (2002) New Republic Era
  • After uncovering clues to the location from the Obelisk ruins, Firefox dispatches agents to the ancient home of the Star Chamber, Antei.

• 19 ABY (2003) New Republic Era
  • As tension between the Dark Brotherhood and the Imperial Remnant escalate, the Fourth Great War erupts between the Clans.
  • Grand Admiral Gilad Pellaeon convinces the Imperial Remnant to declare peace with the New Republic.
  • The Exodus; the Dark Brotherhood secedes from the Imperial Remnant.

• 20 ABY (Nov 2003) New Republic Era
  • The Dark Council solidifies its control over Antei while the Clans spread out into their own territories.

• 21 ABY (Apr 2004) New Republic Era
  • Antaran War; the Dark Brotherhood conquers the Antares System.
  • Fifth Great War; a mind controlling plague spreads through the Dark Brotherhood, eventually its source, the ancient Sith Lord Okemi, is defeated by Firefox.

• 22 ABY (Nov 2004) New Republic Era
  • The New Republic begins to establish formal relations with the Chiss Ascendancy after the ruins of the Outbound Flight Project are rediscovered.
  • Jac Cotelin becomes Dark Lord of the Sith for a second time.
  • K'hamar'a War; the mysterious K'hamar'a cult infiltrate the Dark Brotherhood to steal back several artefacts. The Dark Brotherhood invades the K'hamar'a homeworld.

• 23 ABY (Apr 2005) New Republic Era
  • The Second Imperium's Dark Jedi Shadow Academy is destroyed along with most of its students.
  • Conquest of Coratua; the Dark Council decide to invade the nearby Coratua System, fearing the growing pirate presence there may draw unwanted attention from the New Republic.

• 24 ABY (Nov 2005) New Republic Era
  • Tensions between the Clans increase after a number of mishaps almost escalate to all out war in the Aranna and Selen Incidents.

Present Day

• 25 ABY (Apr 2006) New Jedi Order Era
  • Brotherhood Civil War; after it emerges Jac Cotelin has been using a clone of himself, Jaac Cotelin, the Dark Brotherhood decends into chaos, with both Grand Masters claiming to be the true Dark Lord of the Sith. Eventually Jac Cotelin destroys the clone.
  • The Yuuzhan Vong invade the Galaxy.

• 26 ABY (Nov 2006) New Jedi Order Era
  • The Yuuzhan Vong invade Yavin IV, driving the New Jedi Order into exile.
  • Ben Skywalker, son Luke Skywalker and Mara Jade Skywalker, is born.

• 27 ABY (Apr 2007) New Jedi Order Era
  • The Yuuzhan Vong capture Coruscant. The New Republic is disbanded and reorganised into the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances.
  • Jacen Solo is captured by the Yuuzhan Vong. Vergere, a former student of Palpatine, begins to induct him into the Sith ways.
  • Anakin Solo is killed.

• 28 ABY (Nov 2007) New Jedi Order Era
  • The Yuuzhan Vong invade Imperial Space.

• 29 ABY (Apr 2008) New Jedi Order Era
  • The Yuuzhan Vong are driven off Mandalore by the Mandalorian Protectors under the leadership of Mandalore Boba Fett.

• 30 ABY (Nov 2008) New Jedi Order Era
  • The Yuuzhan Vong Supreme Overlord Shimrra Jamaane and the Shamed One Onimi are defeated by Luke Skywalker and Jacen Solo. Without a Supreme Overlord the Yuuzhan Vong are defeated. Warmaster Nas Choka surrenders and the Yuuzhan Vong are sent to live on Zonama Sekot in the Unknown Regions.

• c. 30 ABY (Nov 2008) New Jedi Order Era
  • Darth Krayt begins forming his New Sith Order on Korriban.

• 31 ABY (Apr 2009) New Jedi Order Era

  • The Killiks threaten to plunge the whole Galaxy into war after assimilating the feelings of the Dark Jedi Lomi Plo into their collective mind. A border dispute erupts between the Killik Colony and the Chiss Ascendancy.

• 36 ABY (Nov 2011) New Jedi Order Era
  • The Swarm War is prevented after Luke Skywalker slays Lomi Plo, restoring peace to the Colony.
  • Allana, daughter of Jacen Solo and Tenel Ka, is born.

• 37 ABY (Apr 2012) New Jedi Order Era

Legacy Era

• 40 ABY (Nov 2013) Legacy Era
  • Lumiya, the Dark Lady of the Sith, orchestrates a series of events that threaten to plunge the Galactic Alliance into civil war with the Corellian System.
  • Jacen Solo is inducted into the Sith by Lumiya.
  • Jacen Solo is made Colonel of the Galactic Alliance Guard.

• c. 127 ABY Legacy Era
  • The New Sith Order sabotage the Ossus Project, an attempt to utilise Yuuzhan Vong biotechnology to restore the ecosystems of desolate worlds. After the project backfires, causing mutations among the planets' inhabitants, public animosity toward the Yuuzhan Vong grows, with some claiming the damage was deliberate.

• 127 ABY Legacy Era
  • The reorganised Galactic Empire capitalises on the situation, turning against the Yuuzhan Vong while the Galactic Alliance continue to defend the project. Invoking the Treaty of Anaxes the Galactic Empire declares war on the Galactic Alliance beginning the Sith-Imperial War.
  • During the Sith-Imperial War the New Sith Order reveals itself to the Galaxy, siding with the Galactic Empire. The New Jedi Order realise what has occured but are unable to prove the Sith involvement.

• 129 ABY Legacy Era
  • The Sith-Imperial War ends with the defeat of the Galactic Alliance. The Galactic Empire reclaims control of Coruscant but their victory is short-lived when the Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Krayt, attempts to assassinate the Emperor, Roan Fel, and declares himself Emperor. The Moff Council swears allegiance to Emperor Krayt while Roan Fel flees into exile.
  • Kol Skywalker is killed defending the Jedi Praxeum on Ossus.
  • Cade Skywalker disappears and is presumed dead.

• 137 ABY Legacy Era
  • Cade Skywalker reemerges to embark on a quest to save the galaxy from the New Sith Order.
