The Gatekeeper of Taldryan is an honourary position granted to Taldryan's most seasoned warriors. While in the position they are in charge of the honour guard protecting Taldryan's Great Hall.

History

The Jedi Order used the position of Gate Master as the head of the Jedi Temple Security Force. It was bestowed upon the Jedi Peacekeeper tasked with guarding the four main entrances of the Temple of Coruscant. The Gate Master's duty was to oversee the appointment of Padawan Guards to oversee the entrances by day, and Knights to keep the watch at night.

Upon completion of the Taldryan Great Hall, it was decided that in addition to the security forces provided by the Taldryan Expansionary Force, select warriors from within its ranks would be assigned to assist and supplement the forces guarding Taldryan's seat of power. Upon the decree of then Proconsul Keirdagh Taldrya Cantor, the position was created, and an edict issued, that Taldryan's greatest warriors would vie with one another in regulated combat, in order to earn the honour of being named Taldryan's Gate Keeper.

Disestablishment

In 39 ABY, Consul Seraine "Erinyes" Taldrya Ténama dis-established the role of Gatekeeper and replaced it with the reformed Cohors Praetoria Taldryae.

The Roll of Gatekeepers is a listing of some of the greatest and fiercest warriors who ever trod upon the fields of battle under Taldryan's Aegis. They represent and embody Taldryan's storied tradition of supplying the Dark Brotherhood with some of its most deadly warriors. As such, their names are forever inscribed in this Roll, commemorating their victories on the field, and memorializing their contributions to Clan Taldryan forever.

Behind the Scenes

In an attempt to encourage participation in gaming activities by Taldryan members, it was decided to create an honourary title to go hand in hand with a new series of quarterly gaming competitions. In order to decide who will win the competition, and earn the honourary title per month, the competition will be judged based on the formula:

(Cluster of Fire x 0.10) + (Competitions x 1)

Tiebreaker 1: Number of Crescents

Tiebreaker 2: Number of Clusters of Fire

Tiebreaker 3: Number of Competitions entered

This title is not an official title (i.e.: it will never appear on a dossier), it is merely granted in order to give bragging rights to Taldryan's most prolific PvP Gamer over the course of a quarter. The title can be maintained for periods longer than a quarter if the member earns it.
