New Order era.

TEAD Technologies was the corporate arm of Clan Taldryan. It acted as an umbrella conglomerate containing all of Taldryan's legitimate business interests.

History

TEAD—an acronym for Textiles, Electronics, Agriculture, and Development—was formed in the earliest days of Taldryan's move to the Kr'Tal System, following the Exodus. Since then, it has been a catch-all organisation for the Clan's legitimate business activities.

Like the rest of Taldryan, TEAD was left distressed and disarrayed by the destruction of the Kr'Tal System, and forced to move its operations to the Caelus System. After years of rebuilding, however, TEAD Technologies has once again become a notable force in the Taldryan establishment.

Starting in Zxyl Bes'uliik Taldrya's tenure as Regent of the Brotherhood, TEAD became an authorised reseller for many of Arx Capital Exchange's civilian products.

Notable Subsidiaries

Like many large corporate conglomerates, TEAD has historically dabbled in virtually every aspect of business, but their relocation to Caelus has forced them to downsize their operations. The corporation's most prominent subsidiaries are listed here.

Citadel Logistics

One of the Caelus-based TEAD's first successes, Citadel Logistics specialises in moving sensitive cargoes through dangerous areas of space. To do so, they rely on independent operators (both Taldryan members and other smugglers for hire), and can arrange partnerships with groups like the Vornskr Battalion when armed escort services are required. The frequency of pirate activity on the far end of the Corellian Trade Spine makes Citadel Logistics a popular choice for small companies without the resources to handle their own shipping.

Gamco Extraction Services

Gamco Extraction Services oversaw harvesting and refining of clouzon-36 from the gas giant Perune. Its position in the Caelus System waxed and waned according to Taldryan's relationship with the Caelus government. Closer ties between Taldryan and the Senate gave Gamco a monopoly, forcing smaller outfits to subcontract with them, while conflicts between Taldryan and the Senate meant a sharp rise in independent mining licenses.

Gamco also oversaw planetary resource harvesting in Taldryan-controlled territories.

InHuman Designs

InHuman Designs is a boutique clothing producer, specialising in garments tailored to fit bipedal species with non-near-Human body shapes. Their products are slowly gaining popularity among non-near-Human species in Brotherhood space for the inclusion of ear and tail holes.

Scios Group

With the growing prominence of Kasiyan agri-food exports across Brotherhood space, Emissary and former Consul Seraine "Erinyes" Taldrya Ténama collected TEAD's food and beverage subsidiaries into a single corporate entity.

Kasiya Estates Distillers & Vintners

Founded in 39 ABY as a pet project of former Consul Ténama, Kasiya Estates Distillers & Vintners was one of TEAD's main agri-food companies. It produced a wide variety of alcoholic beverages, primarily small-batch wines and hard liquors. Their Signature Line included drinks that commemorated notable figures in Taldryan history. Kasiya Estates' headquarters was in the Mytilene region of Kasiya, Taldryan's capital moon.

Some of the products offered by Kasiya Estates included:

  • Aquamarine Shimmer, a Toniray-style sparkling wine (developed for Supreme Chancellor Cassandra Oriana Tyris)
  • Consul's Choice tsiraki (developed for Consul Seraine "Erinyes" Taldrya Ténama)
  • Dark Elixir, a "Corellian-style whiskey" released in 42 ABY as a direct competitor to Whyren's Reserve. The whiskey is sold in "Aged" and "Extra Aged" varieties, estimated by experts to be aged 8-10 and 12-15 years respectively. KED&V has been extremely tight-lipped about how the company could produce a whiskey three to five times its own age, leading to rampant industry speculation and even wild accusations that the beverage has been artificially aged through "Sith alchemy". Naturally, KED&V dismisses the rumours as absurd.
  • Dragostae, a Zeltron spear-grain whiskey, named for the Zeltron colony city formerly on Karufr
  • Kasiyan spiceberry liqueur (described as similar to Socorran raava made from zsajhira berries, but with intense cinnamon notes)
  • Katarn black ruby malbec (developed for Consul Kir Katarn, used to create the cocktail of the same name)
  • Lacrima Alabaster (diamond), Viridian (emerald) and Cinnabar (ruby) wines
  • Mando'ade, a carbonated citrus energy drink fortified with tihaar (developed for Supreme Chancellor Appius Taldrya Wight)
  • Partner production:
    • Cat's Meow, a nepeta liqueur produced for KED&V by an artisan distiller on Togoria
    • Dog's Bollocks, an aniseed liqueur produced for KED&V by an artisan distiller on Uvena Prime

Marid Fisheries

Marid Fisheries is the latest venture in TEAD's expanding food offerings. They operate out of two shore-based fisheries—one at the border of the Karufr Highlands and the Southern Ice Sheet, the other at the eastern edge of the Eastern Red Hills—to avoid any pollution associated with major urban centres. They also conduct smaller freshwater fishing in the major lakes and rivers of the Scios Range.

Rather than importing off-world varieties of fish, Marid Fisheries specialises in native Kasiyan offerings. These include:

  • Beltfish
  • Marid redfin
  • Marid whitefin
  • Monkfish

Mecetti Farms

Mecetti Farms is Taldryan's second main agri-food corporation, together with Kasiya Estates. Likewise located in the Mytilene region of Kasiya, Mecetti Farms produces high-quality meat and dairy products from free-range livestock. They offer a wide variety of bantha and nerf cuts, milk, cheese, frozen dairy desserts, and whey-based protein supplements.

Some of the products offered by Mecetti Farms included:

  • Cheeses
    • Aged hard cheeses
    • Soft cheeses, including varieties with fruit and/or nuts
  • Dairy
    • Flavoured milk drinks
    • Frozen dairy desserts
    • This Is The Whey, a line of protein supplement bars and powdered mixes (developed for Supreme Chancellor Appius Taldrya Wight)
  • Fruits and vegetables
    • Fruits: Blumfruit, grapes (incl. diamond, emerald, and ruby varieties), jewel-fruit, jogan fruit, Kasiyan spiceberry (a small red berry that's 40% sweet, 30% tart, and 30% spicy), meiloorun, muja, shuura, sour green plums (for both sale and use in Kasiya Estates products), sunfruit (a bright yellow Kasiyan cultivar known for its slightly tart sweetness)
    • Green vegetables: broad beans, heart-greens, leafy broccoli, long beans, mustard greens, stem beans
    • Juice blends
    • Spices: Kasiyan spring frostbite pepper (a peppercorn with floral notes in small amounts, but a numbing effect in large quantities)
  • Meats
    • Free-range, grass-fed bantha and nerf in a wide variety of cuts

Xyumi Electronics

Xyumi Electronics produces popular consumer electronics like comlinks and datapads, from both licensed and original designs. They also work with Taldryan's Sphere of Research and Intelligence to develop custom hardware for security and intelligence applications.
