The ISN Amedda is an Acclamator-class Heavy Cruiser that serves in the Second Flotilla in the Imperial Scholae Navy. It is the ship with the largest troop carrying capacity available to Clan Scholae Palatinae, and therefore has seen extensive use in the short period in which it has been owned by the clan. It carries the entirety of the 2nd regiment of the Imperial Scholae Army on board.
History
Acquisition
In 33 ABY, a swift and brutal attack from the Iron Throne, led by Grand Master Darth Pravus, destroyed Scholae Palatinae's home, the Cocytus System, and the bulk of its previous fleet. This left the clan, then led by Emperor Xen'Mordin Palpatine, without either a home or a military, but carried with them an entire system's worth of galactic credits. A Victory-class Star Destroyer, the ISN Sidious, was the only ship available to the clan as they drifted through deep space in search of a new home. Shortly afterwards, Jorm "The Jester" Na'trej's led a squad to capture a carrier, the Venator-class Star Destroyer Swarm Lord, which would later be renamed the ISN Vader, along with its contingent of starfighters.
This left the clan in a position where its only two naval assets were star destroyers with no atmospheric capabilities. The troops that could be evacuated from the wreckages of the Cocytus System had no means of getting their feet on the ground. Emperor Xen'Mordin, in 34 ABY began to assemble a new fleet, dubbed the Imperial Scholae Navy, and a new military, the Imperial Scholae Army with whatever assets he could find from scrapyards, black market dealers, smugglers, pirates, and anyone else interested in the mass of credits they had taken with them. The Amedda, however, was purchased straight off the Rothana Heavy Engineering production line to be the spearpoint of any ground attack by Scholae Palatinae.
Like the other large warships of the Imperial Scholae Navy, the ship was named after a high ranking officer of the Galactic Empire. This ship owes its name to Mas Amedda, the right hand of Emperor Palpatine, Vice Chair of the Senate during the final years of the Galactic Republic and later Grand Vizier of the Empire. In 19 BBY, Amedda stood with Palpatine as the chancellor used his authority to declare the Jedi Order enemies of the state and transform the Republic into the First Galactic Empire. He was given the role of Grand Vizier by the Emperor, a title that is still used by the Proconsul of Scholae Palatinae.
Liberation of Caelestis City
The Amedda saw its first major conflict when the clan settled on the Caperion System as its new home. Following brief diplomatic relationships with the five major powers in the system, it became quickly apparent that The Meraxis Empire were the least amenable to the presence of The Scholae Empire in their system. As a result, Scholae presented itself as the lesser of two evils to Meraxis' main adversary in the system, The Democratic Republic of Elaya. The unlikely alliance between Elaya and Scholae provided enough naval firepower to break through Meraxis space control over its prized technological masterpiece Caelestis City, on the moon Ragnath.
Caelestis City contained only a single spaceport, which was singled out for attack by Scholae Palatinae. The Amedda was the first ship in the Imperial Scholae Navy that brought soldiers to the surface of the Caperion System. With the support of Elaya, Meraxis defence forces were quickly overwhelmed, and the spaceport was secured. Control of the spaceport meant that the clan could block essential supplies, and take control of the city, which to this day remains its headquarters.
Operation Retribution
Operation Retribution came during the Twelfth Great Jedi War against The Collective. Rath Oligard, former Fleet Admiral of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood, had gone missing six years before, only to emerge again at the helm of a powerful faction opposed to Force Users known as The Collective. Hundreds of small-scale attacks had drawn the fleets of the Brotherhood and its seven Clans to Nancora, homeworld to the Technocratic Guild and one of the Collective’s major strongholds. Clan Scholae Palatinae, then under the leadership of Empress Elincia Rei had, been tasked with engaging and subsequently breaking the blockade erected by Battle Group Elysium.
The ISN Amedda was placed on the outskits of the battle, while the Quasar Fire-class Cruiser Carriers Legacy and Hwkbat Eyrie bombarded the planet with asteroids. While this distraction launched, the clan's larger warships, the ISN Sidious and ISN Vader engaged the distracted space defence forces. As these large ships punched a hole in the Collective defences, the Amedda jumped into the system, dropping off artillery and infantry through heavy enemy fire. The artillery destroyed the anti-air emplacements planet-side, allowing smaller carriers such as LAAT/i platoons to reach the surface.
