Andan Taldrya Marshall started out life as one of many Zabrak colonists on Talus in the Corellian system. His parents were normal – hardly worth mentioning; his childhood was average for a settler on a Zabrak colony. That average life changed when imperial Inquisitors visited Talus after hearing rumors of a Jedi hiding on the planet. They didn’t find the Jedi, but they discovered a force-sensitive Andan and took him with them to train.

It was 5 ABY when Andan, a 15 year old who had just been through his rite of passage and received his facial tattoos, was taken by the Inquisitors. They brought him to Coruscant where they gave him training in the Dark Side as well as Jedi hunting. After two years of hard training he was given the rank of Inquisitor.
Most of the Jedi had already been hunted into extinction, so Andan’s main task was to seek out other force-sensitive and bring them back for training. He was known for being rather good at his job; Andan would regularly bring two or three potential Dark Jedi back from each assignment, whereas others would bring one back every few times they went out. Andan was also a very persuasive interrogator and was regularly called back from assignments to extract information from prisoners who were being uncooperative.

In a surprising turn of events, the Inquisitors learned of a group called the Dark Jedi Brotherhood who were reported to be a group of Dark Jedi working with an imperial warlord, the self-appointed Grand Admiral Ronin. Andan was sent with orders to investigate the group and bring back a few of their members for interrogation. However, when he finally found the elusive group of Dark Jedi his plans quickly changed.

Andan progressed through the Shadow Academy quickly, most likely due to his previous training as an Inquisitors. However, information about him between his graduation from the Shadow Academy in 16 ABY and 27 ABY is hard to come by. It is known that Andan worked directly under the various consuls who lead Clan Taldryan, but the exact work he did is a secrete only known by the consuls he worked under and Andan himself. During this time he was awarded the Taldrya name and made a Son of Taldryan.
