Proving Grounds was an event held in 33 ABY by Clan Naga Sadow. This event was meant as a filler event before the co-op event Red Fury featuring CNS and CSP.

Prelude

In order to keep the Sadowans from becoming bored and wreaking havoc in the Orian System, Consul Locke Sonjie called for a gladiatorial style event to be held on Sepros. The participating members fought in three categories, humor, wit, and skill, to see who would be crowned the honorary Gladiatorial Champion of Clan Naga Sadow. As the Sadowans flocked to Sepros, it became clear it would be a mighty contest with the best of what CNS had to offer. A special, temporary, arena was built to host the three week event.

Course of Events

The contestants started off strong, each one displaying their humor, wit, and various skills in an arena filled with civilians. Based on the thundering applause of the crowd, they decided who would move on or fall off. Each week shifted in participating members and the favor of the crowd shifted along with the participants. The first week saw Morax Darkblade, Dyrra Skye and Rhan Ocheron gather the most favor from the arena crowds.

Into the second week it became clear there were other contenders, perhaps having bribed sections of the arena to cheer or shout louder for them during their trials. Lexiconus Qor had replaced Dyrra Skye and Rhan Ocheron as second most favorite contestant. Morax Darkblade remained the undisputed favorite among the crowds, as he was met with thunderous applause, cheers and spirit lifting roars as he faced his trials and performed admirably compared to his peers. With his spirits high, Morax went into the third week feeling invincible and believing he had the crowd where he wanted them.

As the final and third week started, the crowd was surprised by newcomers Jeric Cyrin and Robert Sadow. As they took the arena by storm and outperformed everyone from the previous weeks, Morax Darkblade quickly fell out of favor as Jeric and Robert commanded the crowds full blown attention.

With the event coming to an end, the crowds were given time to assess the Sadowans before them, giving each of them an applause that could be felt even outside of the makeshift arena. Ultimately, due to his outstanding performances in week one and week two, Morax Darkblade was proclaimed the winner by the crowd and crowned the Gladiatorial Champion of Clan Naga Sadow.

To this day Morax Darkblade remains the undisputed Champion. The fact there has never been another Proving Grounds event doesn't stop the Anzat from flaunting the title around anyways.
