Battleteam Talzin was a Battleteam operating within House Tyranus of Clan Plagueis. Formed in 39 ABY by Selika Roh and Sinya Ani, Battleteam Talzin was a special forces unit that specialized in subterfuge and manipulation and strove to avoid collateral damage and casualties. It was shut down mid 40 ABY.
History
Founding
As a member of Battleteam Opress, Sinya Ani often found herself in disagreement with the Savages’ methods and atmosphere. This discord eventually met its head on a mission to disrupt rival Hutt slavers operating in Plagueian space. Conspiring with one of the other members of Opress, TuQ'uan Varick, the two formulated a plan to take the Hutts’ ship for themselves while defecting from Opress without conflict. Their efforts bore fruit when their plan resulted in a successful acquisition of the Arquitens-class Light Cruiser, dubbed Matron.
In the meantime, the Summit of House Tyranus was worried about their influence waning as the newly created House Ventress had taken control of Battleteam Opress. In hopes of finding a balancing agent, Tyranus began to pursue the creation of their own Battleteam. Dread Lord Selika Roh, the Consul of Clan Plagueis, had discovered Sinya’s defection from Opress. Rather than taking any disciplinary action, the Dread Lord was impressed by the ambition present and recommended the new crew of Matron form the core of Tyranus’ new Battleteam. The Tyranus summit agreed with the call and so brought Sinya, TuQ’uan, and their allies under their patronage.
With the two groups coming together, Battleteam Talzin was formed. Sinya Ani was given leadership of the Battleteam and they began operation immediately. Their membership was small but highly skilled in infiltration and stealth operations. It didn’t take them long to become a core division of Tyranus’ toolkit.
Closure
For nearly a year, Talzin remained a component of House Tyranus’ operational strategy. However, after the Fifteenth Great Jedi War and the destruction wrought on Aliso, the Tyranus summit once again saw change. With a new administration in place, Talzin’s place in the House going forward seemed more tenuous than before. A different style of leadership and new procedures within that leadership’s gameplan meant that Talzin had quickly diminishing value. It was decided that the Battleteam would be shut down for the foreseeable future, as its value no longer exceeded its operational costs. Talzin’s assets and personnel were reassigned and redistributed throughout House Tyranus in mid 40 ABY.
Organization
Battleteam Talzin is a small but highly effective special operations team within House Tyranus of Clan Plagueis. Its members, also known as Talzinites, all sit on equal footing, with the exception of the Battleteam Leader acting as the head and go-between with the Tyranus summit and a secondary member serving as their immediate lieutenant. Decisions are largely democratic within the Battleteam, though the BTL retains the right to make final calls. The current Battleteam Leader is Sinya Ani and her lieutenant is TuQ’uan Varick.

Matron
Matron is an Arquitens-class Light Cruiser. Previously a Hutt slave ship, the Matron has been retrofitted and retuned for use by Battleteam Talzin. It serves as their flagship and primary forward operating base in missions that would take them out of Aliso space. Matron is often accompanied by a TIE/SF Starfighter Squadron and is staffed by a loyal crew made up of Talzinites and Tyrants.
Raging Rancor Repairs
Located in Fort Dooku’s Market District, Raging Rancor Repairs is a speeder repair shop, the largest in the Fort. A large, brown facsimile of a rancor’s head hangs over the doorway of the garage doors. Unlike many of the structures within Fort Dooku, the architecture of the repair shop is more rounded, rising to four sloping points at each corner of the building. The decor is minimal, as most of the space is used for repairing and storing speeders, parts, and tools. However, entering the lobby or office, one is likely to find deep greens and reds, evoking the jungles of Dathomir that rancors are native to. If you pay extra, they’ll even give your speeder their signature “Raging Rancor” paintjob, featuring a stylized rancor causing mayhem on the hood of your speeder.
The Sleeper’s Nest
If you make your way all the way back to the office of Raging Rancor Repairs, you may encounter the protocol droid that is staffed there. Give the droid the correct code phrase and they will release the lock on a hidden door behind a 6 foot model rancor standing in the corner. Entering this door will bring you to a turbolift, which takes you down into the entryway of The Sleeper’s Nest.
The Sleeper’s Nest is Talzin’s base of operations on Aliso. It spreads out underground in a web-like pattern, linking several rooms together with short passageways. In the center of the Sleeper’s Nest is the Briefing Room, which features a large, round holotable with a dozen chairs surrounding it. This is the primary meeting place for Talzin members and also houses consoles, terminals, and control panels that can cater to the Battleteam’s every need.
The biggest room in the Sleeper’s Nest is the Training Room. Featuring a fully stocked gym, shooting range, sparring ring, and more. Keeping active during long stays in the Nest won’t be an issue for any Talzinite and keeping your skills sharp is a breeze. Nearby the Training Room is a Storage Room in which a variety of weapons and equipment is stored, both for use on missions and in training. While the Training Room is for keeping your physical abilities sharp, the Meditation Room allows you to work on your mental state and the Force. Not particularly large, but very isolated from the rest of the facility, the Meditation Room is soundproofed and much more carefully decorated and designed than the rest of the Nest.
Throughout the Nest are also a dozen private rooms. While not particularly spacious or lavishly furnished, these personal quarters are assigned to active members of Talzin and provide any basic needs they may need and adequate comfort. Each of the personal quarters has a private bathroom, workstation, sleeping area, and kitchen, with a few extra amenities tucked into the Battleteam Leader’s suite.
The Nest as a whole is designed with a similar mindset to the rest of Fort Dooku, focusing on military efficiency and sleek angles. However, there is a clear Dathomiri influence at play. Deep reds and oranges are common accent colors throughout the facility, as well as the occasional stone column or molding that emulates Dathomiri architecture. There are even a few plants integrated into the decor with boney receptacles.
