Scoring System
Overall Scoring System
The Invasion of Orian competition uses a scoring system based on the principles of the last Great Jedi War, adapted to make it more suitable for individuals. It is based around five event categories, Gaming, the Antei Combat Centre, the Runon, Poetry and GFX, and Fiction. Each participant will score points in the main competition based on their performance in each of the categories, and how many people took part in those categories. It works as follows.
Everyone gets five points as a basic score for participating in a category, they also get a bonus of equivalent to half the number of participants (rounded up) to reflect how competitive the event is, and then the top ten people placing in each category get a score from 20 for 1st to 2 for 10th. Sound complicated? Well it works like this.
Malisane took part in the Fiction, Gaming and Poetry/GFX.
He came 3rd in the Fiction in which 15 people took part. He gets 5 for taking part in the event, 8 participation bonus (half of 15 rounded up), and 16 for his third place, making his fiction score 30.
He also came 11th in the Gaming in which 12 people took part, so he gets 5 for taking part, 6 participation bonus and nothing for placing as he was outside the top 10, giving him a score of 11 for the gaming.
He came 3rd again in the Poetry/GFX in which 10 people took part. He again gets 5 for taking part, 5 participating bonus, and 16 for his third place, making a score of 26. Note this is lower than his 3rd in the Fiction because less people took part.
So his total score for the competition is 30 plus 11 plus 26, giving him a score for the whole competition of 67.
Gaming
The gaming section is the most simple, with a score of 3 for a win and 1 for a loss in JA/JK/JO, and 5 for a win and 2 for a loss in BF2 and EAW. The total points gained make up the placing in this competition.
ACC
Rules:
• 72 Hour Time Limit per post
• All posts are 2+2
• All other ACC rules apply
• Clan powers are usable in this Hall
• NPC's will be assigned at random, similar to the Vong ACC event from the last GJW. Characters assigned will generally be even in effective rank.
Scoring:
- No points for timeouts on the "timing out" side
- 1 point for a win via timeout,
- 1 point for a loss via decision
- 3 points for a win via decision
- 3 points for a win when opponent has timed out if you have done a Death Post
The person with the most number of points wins with the second and third place also determined thusly.
Fiction and Poetry/GFX
The score for the Poetry/GFX and Fiction are both a combination of a number of individual competitions, each running for two weeks, and there are multiple competitions running over this two week period, and everyone can do as many of them as they wish. Each competition gives a basic score of 5 points for a serious entry and 2 for a weaker entry (like two paragraph fiction entries and stick figures) Each competition then works on the formula below.
(Total entries x 2 ) - (position x 2) + basic points.
So if for fiction event one 10 people take part, and Member A came 4th with a serious entry, then he would score 20-8+5 making 19 points, Member B came 6th with a serious entry scoring 20-12+5 making 13 points and member C came 10th with a none serious entry then he would score 20-20+2 making 2 points.
In both the Fiction and Poetry/GFX categories the scores of each competition make up the placement.
Runon
The runon category scores as follows. The runon will extend for the length of the whole competition, and members are advised to maintain an average of two posts per week. Anyone who does less will get a basic 5 points added to their overall competition score. Anyone who does at least this figure will get rated and the top ten will get points on a sliding scale from 20-2 participation points based on half the number of entries rounded up.
Anyone who has queries regarding the scoring system please contact Malisane on malisane@gmail.com

Information on the various events will eventually go here for the duration of the competition. Once the competition is over the page will be reworked into a regular event page and become part of an upcoming category to contain a comprehensive list of all Clan Naga Sadow related events akin to the GJW event listings.
