Personal Information

The Creator of the Cult

Name: Ayn Khollo

Born: Approx 860 years BBY

Disappeared from records: 286 BBY

Planet of Origin: Anzat

From what little public records that can be found on this despicable murderer, it is speculated that he hailed from Anzat. Following Ayn’s maturing of years on that planet, the Force Sensitive made his way out into the galaxy, experiencing a wealth of different pleasures and feasting on many multitudes of species. But like many of the infamous Anzati in public knowledge, Khollo gained a taste for Force Users. Of course, having the advantage of being Force Sensitive himself, the devious vampiric beast could ensnare weak-willed Force Users, as well as what one would describe as brainwashing the idiotic people he decided to spare to help him in capturing the stronger Force Users. Nicknamed “The Beast” in some cultures, while known to the superstitious tribesmen of Perdoccus IV as “Death Bringer” (that particular sobriquet lead to the naming of his cultists.) The Anzat eventually disappeared from public knowledge in 286 BBY. Not known is his d.o.d. Who knows if this enigmatic monster is really dead?

The Current Master of the Death Bringers

The One Who Is The One

Name: The One Who Is The One

Born: Unknown

Planet of Origin: Unknown

Species: Barabel

His origins unknown, the only information uncovered on the background of this vicious and depraved individual is that he gained control of the cult by disposing of the former Master around 22 ABY. The Barabel consumed his predecessor by poisoning her. The poison, a strong narcotic, left her defenceless to his hunger. The Master wears deep red robes, dyed with the blood of his victims. That particular vice means that his presence is always announced with a disgusting smell of death.

The One Who Is The One is the Barabel’s particular name for himself as Master of the Cult. His predecessor was a H’nemthe named Shaiyusha.

The Death Bringer’s Ship

The vessel is a retired Republic Dreadnought warship. Designed to appear ramshackle and ill-maintained, the aptly named Devourer, is, despite appearances, a powerful, yet outdated vessel. However, the cult makes use of the countless vessels ensnared by them over the years, ranging from small smuggler frigates to even a Victory class Star Destroyer.

Devourer

Appearance of members

Members range from primitive debased parodies clothed in rags, (these seem to be the more long standing members) to more recent converts treading the path of capricious delight. Who appear almost normal in appearance. The cannibalistic cultists file their teeth into sharp points, allowing them to tear flesh easily. They are devious, bloodthirsty and utterly fearless. Often overpowering their victims by swamping them in bodies regardless of the injuries taken. Such bloodthirsty actions are both their greatest weapon and their downfall.

History and Methodology

Gathered by Ayn Khollo to assist him in capturing Force Users, over time his “disciples” began to emulate their Master. Consuming the dead flesh of the Force Users left over from Ayn’s consumption of their soup. A well developed cult that thrives in secrecy, it has been 300 years since the Anzat has been seen, and his followers have become almost primitive in their behaviour. They use enslaved Force Users to find others of their kind, ones which are broken through torture and maiming. (After all, through modern medicine, a person can survive the loss of their limbs.) These Force Users track down others of their kind, their presence calling out for release as they do. This causes unwary and do-gooders Force Users into close contact with the cultists.

Hoping by consuming the flesh of Force Users, they become closer to their “Master”, the great Ayn Khollo. The poor unfortunate, battered and beaten into submission is dragged forcibly before the The One Who Is The One. (TOWITO) Who takes great pleasure and pride in carving up the victim slowly, forcing them to undergo excruciating pain while fully conscious. They believe that only though this method can they become close to their master. For the Anzati took great pains to instil fear and terror within his prey. TOWITO follows on from this.

However, when their hunger overwhelms them, the Death Bringers consume their victims alive, ripping flesh off them and cramming it into their gaping maws. They believe that by consuming the flesh of a F.U. (Force User) they gain a measure of the person’s strength and power. Ironically, while this seems absurd in a scientific sense, their blind belief fuels the cultists to strive through the pain that a normal mortal would break down at. It also makes them stronger, more tenacious and more inclined to ignore injuries in their attempt to feed.

While consuming the flesh of Force Users is a considerable driving force, the members also engage in panoply of decadent and depraved acts. Strangely, the Yuuzhan Vong war increased membership within the cult. Drawing in the disaffected victims of Vongese aggression. Scarred by what they had experienced and pushed beyond sanity because of it, they became members. Maybe it was because the Vong had awakened a terrible primeval urge for murder and death that the cult had nurtured, or maybe they were brainwashed and desensitised, no one knows. But one thing we do know for sure is that they hunger…..

Goals

Their goal is only one thing. To consume…

Encountering the Dark Brotherhood

Emerging from the aftermath of the Vong war, the Death Bringers plunged into the sector, coming across a small cruiser that was fooled into assisting a false S.O.S. sent by the Devourer. Discovering several apprentices on their way to the Dajorra system from the Shadow Academy, accompanied by a Sith Warrior. He proved more robust than the Journeymen, who were “thrown to the lions.” The Sith, questioned by TOWITO, held out as long as he could before succumbing to his injuries. His mind breaking down and revealing all the secrets he knew about the Brotherhood. Hearing about a great enclave of Force Users in nearby Dajorra. Closer than any of the other systems given up by the now deceased warrior, TOWITO decided to stalk their prey there and gauge the strength of Arcona, having heard of the downsizing of the Clans to Houses. The Master had concluded that the cult would be powerful enough to prey on these delicious morsels of flesh and blood to become closer with the great “Death Bringer”.

Homecoming

During the Dark Crusade of 37ABY, Galeres took time after three campaigns to return to the Dajorra system for respite of the battles against the One Sith. These long campaigns lead to the neglect of their home system.

Troubles began on Eldar, when House Galeres’s Aedile sent out a team to restore connection with the satellites in orbit above Ereboros. They were gone for four days before the Quaestor was informed because it was believed to be due to technical difficulties. Battleteam Soulfire was deployed to investigate the situation. Whilst Dark Forge investigated a village of two hundred that had disappeared on Eldar

"It’s showtime!"
―Vynn Salm.

Whilst Soulfire arrived on the facility Ereboros, Dark Forge encountered their enemy in a cave nearby to the village. Silently they began to kill the Death Eaters that had made it their home and were found because of their sloppy feeding.

The team fixing the satellites; lead by S'nar Que Seshai, encountered a distress signal which lead to their ship being over-run by Death Eaters. Soulfire boarded, within eleven minutes an emergency transponder was activated; alerting the crew on the Valour’s Fall to contact Eldar. Once the reports were in Sanguinius Tsucyra took the BAC Darkest Night to Ereboros, whilst Cethgus took Galerian forces to deal with the issues on Eldar.

Within eight hours the BAC Darkest Night arrived at Ereboros; Putra, Exerex, Maaks, Talarak and Arcona Expeditionary Force accompanied the Quaestor to provide relief for Soulfire. When the Armoured Interface Craft docked, contact was immediate and merciless.

S'nar had thus far survived his capture, the eight hours had dragged by, the Death Walkers had enjoyed torturing the Kaleesh. He escaped his imprisonment, and went to seek out his Battleteam mates.

Whilst those eight hours ticked by the Cethgus had placed his forces on Eldar where an army of Death Eaters had converged on them. The Aedile was accompanied by Trouttrooper, Riverche, Atyiru Araave, Andrelious J. Inahj, Inarya, Azasell Kirin and Kordath Bleu. Terms were not discussed for long, neither side were willing to walk away from the battle that was to come.

The battle on Eldar was long, hordes of Death Walkers replaced those that were felled. Eventually [Cethgus]] ordered all those that could to pull back to the second trench.

"Fall back to the second trench! Haul the injured with you! If you cannot...leave them."
―Cethgus issuing the command for troops to fall back.

The Equite members fell back halfway on his instruction, they used a concussive aspect of the Force to push the enemy back, allowing for the majority of the Galerean fighters to pull back, those that could not were caught in the blast.Atyiru Araave was injured and only survived due to Kordath Bleu, who saw her and assisted her back past the Equite members and to the trench.

When the Death Walkers began clearing the first trench, mines that had been placed down beforehand were detonated, successfully obliterating Death Walkers and injured Galerians alike if they could not get away in time. It took a large dent out of the encroaching enemies numbers, though more swiftly took their place.

Meanwhile on Ereboros,Sanguinius Tsucyraand his team faced an equally large number of Death Walkers, battle was difficult within the confined space, having to spread out to avoid friendly fire.

Soulfire were also still in the facility, mainly collected within the command room. This forced they're attackers to bottleneck, allowing for small reprieves and quicker kills. Whilst there two members were given orders to make their way to the power core.

"...Teroch needs an update. Did you two make it to the power core?"
―Celahir, the Soulfire’s comm specialist, on an open channel with the team that had slipped away to fulfill a secondary objective.

Nath Voth and Riverche were ordered to the power core, the station' main computer was down making communication difficult with other member's of the House. Riverche worked on the command console uploading a program that Celahir and herself had created.

"Yes! Celahir, the program is active. The station is venting all passages that don't contain Galeres comms!"
―Riverche speaking to Celahir over the comm

Nath was engaged in combat with The One Who Is One, at some point during the battle she was disarmed and once the Barabel heard Riverche's words and proceeded to throw Nath off the catwalk they were fighting on. Riverche was disarmed quickly and knocked unconscious by a headbutt gifted to her by The One Who Is One. Nath only managing to jump back up after the Miraluka was knocked unconscious.

S'nar had followed his senses which also lead him to the power core, Nath had been subdued and slowly suffocated. S'nar immediately attacked, but was caught by surprise at the swiftness of the retaliation; The One Who Is One having sustained substantial damage from fighting with the Iridonian. S'nar, finished the battle by crushing his thumbs through The One Who Is One's eyes and then lashing out at the Barabel's windpip, crushing it.

"“We lost so many Cethgus. Was it a victory? Really?”
“What can we do about this? It happened."
―Sanguinius and Cethgus in the Quaestor’s office.

Shortly after the One died, the battles were over and changes came to Galeres.
