- " “We all chose the path we tread, you just chose the wrong one and now you have my sword to contend with…”"
- ― Mune Cinteroph
Krath Savant Mune Cinteroph has only just returned from places undisclosed, and thusly removed from the list of rogues to rejoin his former clan, Clan Scholae Palatinae. A native from a little known planet not even worth naming, he was previously a key member of the Isradia Family, a devoted scholar, quick calculating thinker and cunning assassin and graceful swordsman. Before his disappearance, he had been a member of Scholae Palatinae, leading House Acclivis Draco most notably for a time. He took on only a single student in in his time with the clan, Impetus M’Nar. His reasons or the how of his disappearance were never divulged, and even upon his return, remain veiled in secrecy.
Character History
The Experiment
Snow
Populated largely by humans, having taken to largely xenophobic outlooks. Traditionalists, slow to adaptation and stubbornly adhering to outmoded ways of thinking.
Visitors to the city state, known as the United Corporations of Elaya, by law, could visit only limited sectors of the large business and science ruled, technological marvel. It was here that the original experiments had begun, led by scientist Orrand Verr, unknown to any but the humans of the city state to which he belonged, and those few “guests” having the privilege having met him. The capital was home to business and the sciences alike, and, here too, many an atrocity were born by the ungentle hand of science on the planet.
In 3 ABY, Orrand, at the age of 35, and his young wife, became pregnant with their first and only child. Weak willed, the boy’s mother could not refuse the child to her scientist husband’s wicked machinations. Of course, he was not to be the madman’s only wicked deed, but by far the most shocking, treating his own flesh and blood to genetic manipulations in the womb. It was then by no surprise that the child was born half human with numerous other genetics altering his DNA. These anomalies most notably resulting in canine-like ears, fangs, claws and tail. Papers on the experiments made confidential, like all others on Orrand’s work. He was born Hibiki Verr.
Orrand, unhappy with the results of his scheming, chose to discard his own progeny as a failed project of science. It was only for his wife that the boy was not discarded; to be thrown into the laboratories wicked furnaces and made ash on the streets.
Unwanted
Rather than be destroyed, he came to be reared by his father's sister. It was no mystery the child was unwanted, a black sheep within a family of intellectuals who sought respect and monetary gains for no one but themselves. A black sheep borne from their own weak blood, was the last creature they wished to give shelter, but, they did, for a time.
Mune remained uneducated, mistreated, and shunned by adult and children alike. He began to see himself much as others saw him, an oddity; a point driven home when his father paid a visit at the age of five. A point that drove him from what had been the only home he had so far known, when his aunt was told to get rid of the monstrosity. It was five days later, and Mune amused himself in a gazebo in his aunt’s garden. Spring flowers scented the air. He remembered those flowers for years after the flames engulfed them and his world was swallowed by fire. He saved himself from death, but barely, and, horrified at the demon before them, the family called for the authorities. The Force had saved him from destruction. It was not the authorities who came.
Drawn by the child’s power, the priestesses came upon him and the ash of the garden. Soothing the rage the boy felt, they take him away from those that could never want him, nor understand him.
The Sound the Chimes Make
At the age of five, after the fire that nearly claimed his life, he was taken in by Monastery, well beyond the influence of Government or the scientific community. Here, his education began.
The following years were filled with ancient tomes, crumbling grimoire, and old and faded scrolls. He was ravenous for every scrap of knowledge, every bit of wisdom. Priest and priestess alike were more than happy to oblige him his seemingly ceaseless thirst. It became quickly evident to him however, that though they taught their ancient arts to other children under their tutelage within the monastery walls… they were missing something vital. They spoke often of the greatness of their wisdom, the power of their arts, the truth behind all things; but Mune knew more than thought, that they were missing something important. A true understanding.
When not ensconced in his reading, he was tutored personally by one of the elders in the art of sword dancing. A form of sword play using the Jian-style sword, focused on grace and agility as opposed to strength and brute force. It was a style that suited his way of thinking.
He had quickly become accepted, his world changed drastically from what he had been accustomed to, though nightmares plagued him often in the night. He grew, his mind sharpened, and he was honed into everything the priests could ever hope for… a sorcerer that could bring them the notice of Government and garner them the power and respect they deserved. To his family, he was a mistake. To these people, a tool.
Honed and tempered by repeated lessons, he was taught to kill. Mistakes were rewarded with bruises, failure to perform to the expectations of his tutors became bloody marks upon his flesh. He pushed himself to succeed, so that they would teach him more and fill that need to know more. As he grew, so did his abilities, and his attachment to one he had come to call sister, an interesting girl who claimed attachment to his earliest years before the monastery.
It came as no surprise then, the appearance of Orrand and his retinue of government officials. He had seen it in one of his nightmares. He awaited them upon the freshly fallen snow before the great gates of the monastery. It was only for a moment that Mune held a hope that his father had forgiven him his abilities and appearance. His hopes were dashed when the blasters were leveled upon him. Within moments, his swords had rent his father's entourage, felling them to the snow in pools of blood. The rage had enveloped the Hybrid's world. Mune would always remember standing over the man that he had known for so little time as his father, foot on the man's chest and the point of his blade to the scientist's throat. The boy blinked away the tears that streaked his cheeks, as he stared into eyes filled with hate and disgust, and Mune thrust the blade home, ending the life held at his mercy.
He knew no mercy. With the men of the monastery, they buried the bodies.
The Brotherhood
To the Stars
It was not so long after the slaying that Mune left. He was forgiven the massacre by his brethren of the monastery, yet, he could not bring himself to remain. He felt out of place, as though he belonged elsewhere. They had no more to teach him, so far as he was concerned. He begged his leave of them, and though he could not garner the blessing of his teacher, he did promise to one day return and earn his favour. So he left, Mune returning to his birth place. He was ten-years-old upon his return to his home city, with little credits to his name but those he could make on odd jobs here and there. It did not take long however for him to get in contact with men whom's names were given him by the monastery and so arranged his leave of Imei.
He escaped his past, entering the sea of stars. He took on jobs as an assassin along the way, putting his years of lessons to the test. In a year's time, however, he came to find himself face to face with someone from his past; and the Brotherhood. He was nearly eleven standard years.
A Sum of his First Time in the Brotherhood
Mune began his journey in the Brotherhood as a member of Clan Exar Kun. Cipher K'oranian Isradia, his surrogate sister and he were together again. From her, he learned the workings of the Clan. From his Master Vithril Isradia he learned to further his powers and better understand the Force. These were the teachers he had searched for, ones who could expand his knowledge well beyond what the monks could have ever hoped or dreamed. Through the exceptional tutelage of Vithril, Mune made his way to the ranks of Dark Jedi Knight. He acted as a battle team leader of Exar's Shadow, and also became a professor within the Shadow Academy. He had in short time firmly entrenched himself within the Brotherhood. He was no stranger to the conflicts the Clans found themselves in, including Great Jedi Wars.
It was through his connections, he believes, to his surrogate sister that Jonaleth Isradia accepted him into his family and so became an Isradia himself. He was granted a title, and land on the family's home world.
Then the changes started.
Clan Exar Kun and Satal Keto became one, Clan Plagueis. Politics, at this time, were not a strength of his. Turbulence found him becoming uncomfortable in his position within the clan and so decisions had to be made. Eventually, Mune would separate himself from the new clan and find himself joining Scholae Palatinae.
Mune established himself soon enough within the Clan as Aedile of Acclivis Draco, and soon enough, stepped up into the position of Quaestor. He led for well over a year in the position, taking on Impetus as his apprentice and Aedile. Together they did great things until, stepping down, Mune would disappear for a time only to emerge for a short time in Clan Tarentum as Quaestor of House Gladius.
It was not long before he vanished from the Brotherhood altogether.
Impetus
During Mune's time among the ranks of Scholae Palatinae, he became Master to one Impetus, an Imperial Agent in the employ of the Empire's Intelligence. He was charged with a mission to search for an agent of the Light Side living within Judecca, a spy. It was for Impetus' particular talents that she was paired with the young Krath Priest. She became fascinated with the lightsaber Mune wore. Impetus' connections as Tonal'la proved invaluable in their hunt. The methods she employed, a curiosity at how easily and skillfully she used an entire city's worth of eyes to search where her own eyes could not.
It was only because of Impetus that they managed to track a woman. Impetus saved his life in the ensuing duel when he made a near fatal mistake. It was then that Mune understood that the Force was at work through her. He took her as an apprentice then, and has since been the only apprentice he has had.
She quickly became someone Mune put much trust in. He learned as much from her, as what he imparted in her. He was strange in his refusal of the title of Master from the girl, and rather she call him by name, knowing full well without the title that she still respected him as much as he respected her. She as much as anyone else in the clan, however, could not have seen his leaving, and finally, his all out disappearance that would follow.
Only she could understand though, how much it could crush him to have abandoned her and damage that trust they shared.
The Rogue
Isradia
He left no indication to anyone he had chose to leave, nor were there any indications as to where he left for. Asked now, he still does not say much on the subject.
The facts are, he took his studies to Vardor, home of Isradia and there, kept sequestered away from the affairs of the Brotherhood. He had become isolated. his studies expanded to numerous forms of lore, politics, bureaucracy, and more. Though he delighted in tomes and books and grimoires of all sorts, here too did he fall out of place within the family his sister had tied him to.
A hand full of years passed. Then illness found him.
Though doctors could not tell him what ailed him, nor the origins of what had begun to weaken his body... he knew. It was then that he took his leave of Vardor, and Isradia, much to the displeasure of Isradia's Master. He took his leave, with a pained farewell to his surrogate sister, and made his way to whence he came.
Forging his Own Destiny
Mune took his leave of Isradia, and Vardor to return to his place of birth. The great city state sprawled out before him on leaving the space port, a city long left behind. He was a stranger among a sea of strangers. From here he traveled to the monastery that had raised and trained him. He earned the favour of his teachers, as he had promised he would upon his departure from their walls. After two weeks of remaining among them, made the hardest journey yet.
By this time, his health had been on a steady decline. It wore greatly on him. He returned to the home of his mother, and there met with her for the first time since the attempt on his life by his aunt. an emotional reunion, but one that gave him the strength he needed to carry on with his mission into the heart of his father's works. He found himself later in his father's labs where he managed to steal his father's research and with minimal conflict, extricate himself from a potential deadly situation. He had no interest in being anyone's lab experiment again...
The Doctor
His search began in earnest. His father's research in hand, he left the planet to seek the help he would need to put the research to some sort of use. He only grew sicker as the weeks passed. He clung on to the feeling that he still had far more to do, that his life was not meant to end yet. So he continued his search. It would be through an old connection with the Brotherhood that he would come to know of a scientist by the name of Elincia Rei. Something rang in the name to the dying Hybrid. Weeks were spent in rest and mediation as he continued his slow search for the doctor.
In the end, the Force guided him to where he had to be, at the door step of the Palatinaean scientist. He knew her, he had come to understand in the last weeks before arriving. His bond not at all weakened to the girl he had called his apprentice. It was a relief to have arrived, but still anxiety ate at him that she would have to see him as he was now. He had no doubt, however, that she would help him now.
Elincia accepted him in, and, research into his condition began. Days became weeks, weeks became months. It would be an entire year before Elincia's efforts proved Mune's recovery.
The Return
Shattered Ties
Mune returned to the Brotherhood in the company of Elincia Rei. He hwoever did not return to the last clan he had been a part of, rather, he returned to Scholae Palatinae. Greeted by an old friend, Cyris Oscura, and so was welcomed back among their number. He made it a point to join House Imperium to work with the house's Quaestor, Lexiconus Qor, a doctor, unbeknownst to Lexic himself, had helped Elincia in the Hybrid's recovery. From here, Mune also joined the Battle Team Shadow Gaurd under the command of Delak Krennel, a man Mune met in the Antei Combat Center to get to know by the sword, testing each other's strengths and knowledge of battle. Mune enjoyed every moment of the encounter, and took an immediate liking to the human.
That welcome would quickly turn to business as he was immediately drawn into a joint venture with Naga Sadow to retrieve artifacts in the possession of the Red Fury Pirates. Mune made a great showing of himself, eager to earn his place back in the clan after a long absence. With the Clan Summits working in concert, they made their move, but the attack quickly became a betrayal as the clans would turn on one another. So the ties between them were broken by the time both clans went home with Scholae Palatinae the victor.
Operation: Starfall
Following hot on the heels of their victory against the Red Fury Pirates and successful attack on Naga Sadow; the Emperor decreed it time to enact "Operation: Starfall". It was at this time too, that Mune took up the roll of Grand Admiral(Rollmaster) of the clan. In the aftermath of Shattered Ties, his old friend Cyris was felled. Elincia took up the vacant position as Grand Vizier to the Emperor, leaving Mune to put forward his own name for the now vacant Grand Admiral role. He could only hope he would not disappoint.
Operation: Starfall would find he and his clan mates ordered to the planet Aesirus on the far side of the Galaxy where they would take possession of the SoroSuub Corporation's holdings of Kyber Crystal mines. This would be the first operation Mune had the opportunity to take charge of as a member of the Clan Summit. All had been going according to plan when, in a skilled manipulation of the entire clan, a trap was sprung upon them by their own Emperor. Forced to take refuge in the mines themselves with the miner's, all escape was cut off, trapping them all deep underground. It was only because of Elincia's interference that the final round of charges meant to collapse the chamber on them all, that they were not killed there. Xen'Mordin was revealed to be Darth Fallax. Their Emperor possessed, and they trapped.
Mune could only trust that Elincia could take care of herself. Together with the Quaestors Lexiconus and Blade, he would have to plot their escape from the depths of the caves and find their way back to the Cocytus System and their home.

Profile
Appearance
He is half-human, a hybridization come about through genetic manipulation and experimentation. His human father, Orrand Verr’s goals were uncertain, and all pertaining papers since classified or destroyed, and so remains uncertain. The results, however, only seem by all appearances, completely cosmetic.
Mune is somewhat short of average height for an adult human male, standing at 5’7” (170cm) and well-toned. He is by and large, mostly human in his appearance, with a few notable traits that mark him as not quite. These include his eyes, a startling ruby red in colouration, bright, intelligent, sharp and even shocking at first when one catches sight of the slit quality of his pupils. His teeth, or his canines more specifically come to the slightest points, barely noticeable and could only be described as dainty fangs. He has canine ears instead of human ones, though they afford him no better hearing then is to be expected of a human. His nails can only be described as claws, though only just… and no more dangerous then the next man deciding to grow his nails long. Most notably (aside from the ears of course), is his tail, kept well groomed at all times. His hair is most short, with his bangs left long, dyed a soft powder pink that compliments the soft cream colour of the rest of his hair. Each ear is adorned with a single piercing.
Because of the manipulation of his genetic code, he has the additional trait of appearing younger than he actually is. At quick glance, he can easily be mistaken for sixteen while a longer inspection would bring someone to guess him to be anywhere from seventeen to nineteen All of these would be wrong however.
