He can usually be found practicing his swordsmanship at Ragnos Cathedral.

Character History

Korriban and Darth Damirael

Tritherus was born on the Sith tomb world of Korriban. He never knew his parents. The first being the child every knew was a Sith Spirit known as Darth Damirael. Somehow the dead Sith Lord channeled the Dark Side into the infant sustaining his life in place of food and water. This was an application of the Dark Side never before seen, and Damirael continued to use it on Tritherus for the duration of his time on Korriban. This made the young boy dependent upon the Sith Lord. It also caused his eyes, which were gray at birth, to turn a startling red. Any other strange effects being sustained by the Dark Side alone at such a young age had on Tritherus are still unknown.

As the boy grew the spirit became his mentor, initially at survival and eventually becoming the boys first master in the ways of the Force. He called the boy Tritherus, and told him that his parents were amoral treasure hunters of the Zenos family that came to Korriban to rob the tombs. While there the starship they came on was damaged by a strange storm. During their unintended extended stay Tritherus was conceived and born. After the ship was repaired they took what little artifacts they had and fled, leaving their unwanted child behind to appease the Sith spirits.

Damirael's tutelage was not as effective as he would have liked, but he was inhibited by the fact that he was not a physical entity. Tritherus was strong in the Force though, and took to his lessons well. The lessons of the deceased Sith Lord were cruel, however. While not being able to personally interact with Tritherus, Damirael attacked his student nonetheless. Throughout his early life the young man was subjected to cave-ins and miniature Force Storms. By the time he was teenager Tritherus' body was a riddled with scars. When old enough to learn the rites of combat Damirael gave the boy a Sith Sword. The spirit was startled at how well his apprentice handled the blade. Tritherus' obsession with swordsmanship had begun.

As his training continued Tritherus began to realize that Damirael was not the ideal mentor. His capabilities seemed to have reached a glass ceiling that they cold not rise above. He bagan to yearn for the stars, and meet living, breathing people. More then anything he wanted a master that could push him further in his studies. Unbeknownst to him this was the Sith Lords plan. Tritherus was his ticket off of Korriban, and all his training was meant to produce an able bodied Force-sensitive agent. Finally, Damirael revealed to his apprentice an ancient Sith starfighter that was fully operational. Taking a lesson from his absent parents, Tritherus paid one last visit to the tomb of his former master. He scavenged what valuable items he could, and returned to the fighter. He sat in the cockpit, and reaching out with the Force he activated it and set off for civilized space.

He was not alone, however. Darth Damirael possessed the young man's body without exerting control over it. They would both at last be free from the dead and able to exert their influence on the galaxy at large.

The Infamous Maxses Zenos

The Sith starfighter took Tritherus (and Darth Damirael) to the city-planet of Coruscant. The bustling planet overwhelmed the young man as he had never met a living being before. Tritherus began going by Maxses Zenos (to pay homage to his parents, whom he despised) while on Coruscant. He eventually made his way into the seedier part of the planet, and began unloading the fortune in artifacts he brought with him. He was astonished at how much he made off of the grave goods of his former master. Maxses was literally set for life and disappeared from the black markets.

He reappeared a year later on the other side of the planet among the aristocracy. Setting himself up as the scion of a noble family from some unknown world, Maxses fell in with the scholarly croud. He began secretly searching for information on Dark Side societies, while continuing his own studies. He eventually caught wind of a group operating out of the Antei System, and planned to depart in search of this Brotherhood.

Darth Damirael sensed the threat this orginazation might pose to his plans, and decided to exert himself more fully. Possessing his apprentice's mind the Sith Lord recontacted Maxses' black market connections. Damirael set himself up as the head of a criminal empire intending to begin his new reign as Sith Lord. The spirit did not completely dominate Tritherus' mind however, and the sly Human exerted enough control to lead authorities to his own criminal orginization effectively ruining Damirael's plan. Thinking himself free of his master's spirit, Tritherus shed his old identity, and made his way to Antei.

Clan Arcona and Disappearance

Galeres of Arcona

The Dark Jedi Brotherhood recognized the potential of Tritherus immediately, swearing him into the Krath Order. It was a natural fit as Tritherus was consumed with furthering his knowledge in the Dark Side of the Force and in swordsmanship. The new Apprentice failed to inform the Dark Council or any of his superiors about his original master, but they were always curious over Tritherus' innate understanding of their early lessons. Quickly passing the courses of the Shadow Academy, he was assigned to House Galeres of Clan Arcona. While in Galeres Tritherus was promoted up to Acolyte, and served admirably.

Abrubtly, the Acolyte went missing and was not seen for four years. His activity during this time is completely unknown, even to Tritherus himself. He personally fears that Darth Damirael has returned to haunt him once more. He simply remembers falling asleep in his bunk in the House Galeres headquarters and waking up on the planet Tarthos four years later.

Tritherus, Heir to the Empire

Marka Ragnos of Naga Sadow

Taking his location as a sign Tritherus swore his allegiance to House Marka Ragnos of Naga Sadow. The Quaestor of House Marka Ragnos and Dark Patriarch of the Disciples of Ragnos, Ashura Isradia also introduced him to the cult serving the ancient Sith Lord and inducted him as a Disciple of the Dark Doctrine. He was also inducted into the Ravana Squadron stationed at Ragnos Cathedral on Tarthos. Tritherus participated in a mission to the planet Telos to attack a Yuuzhan Vong Worldship in orbit there. He fought valiantly against the Vong, and managed to kill a few. Those events brought him closer to his clanmates and made him feel like a true member of the Clan. Following the events at Telos, he was promoted to Protector, sent into service for the Night Hawks Battleteam, and was taken on as the apprentice of Shikyo Sasuke Keibatsu.

Trivia

  • Tritherus, the Zenos family name, and Damirael are names I've used in various RPG's for a long time. The Star Wars RPG, in fact, was where Damirael originated in a form very similar to how he appears here.
