Encounter at Citadel was a Clan event which took place in 36 ABY right after the House Shar Dakhan event Discovery and House Marka Ragnos event A New Dawn: Sanctuary. What starts out as a simple diplomatic mission for the leadership of Clan Naga Sadow- as well as an opportunity for several of their number let loose- turns into something far more dangerous for the Sadowans as a whole.

Prelude

While seeking out resources and allies to strengthen Clan Naga Sadow, the Summit has been contacted by a group of individuals based in the Telos system. Ships and equipment have been promised, pending a meeting to discuss terms by the head of the Summit. With the Proconsul Ashia Kagan Keibatsu at his side, the Consul Bentre Stahoes goes into the meeting with the mysterious group.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Clan are given leave to relax upon Citadel Station, to take full advantage of the cantina and of the facilities. It appears for the first time in weeks, that all is good. The Clan is at relative peace. The horizon is looking brighter for Clan Naga Sadow. There may be hope for a return to their home sooner than expected.

But that was before the ship appeared.

Course of Events

The Consul Bentre Kairn'tel Stahoes and Proconsul Ashia Kagan Keibatsu meet up with Fleet Admiral Ariac Simonetti aboard the Perdition after their crippling defeat during Inferno. Without the majority of their fleet, Clan Nago Sadow is choosing it's battles carefully, whilst also allowing options for new allies to emerge. It is revealed here that they are moving to the Telos system in response to an invitation for a potential alliance. After the recent successes of both Houses, the Consul believes that with enough of a driving force the Clan members can fall into line and fight for their home. The Consul agrees to meet up with the Telosians aboard the Citadel, giving the rest of the Sadowans time off to banter, drink, relax and hopefully stay out of trouble.

Once the negotiations are underway, Black Guard Syntari Bastiayn overhears a conversation, whilst standing on guard duty, mentioning a military ship incoming to the Citadel. She authorizes code Besh to Black Guard Calenhad Mobok'tel who just picked up readings of a ship entering the system near their fleet. After confirming a ship had indeed set off proximity alarms in the system, it is learned that the ship resembles one that had been in the Orian system during the time of the Sadowan retreat. Calenhad relays the information up the chain of command and prepares to alert the rest of the Clan for combat.

Meanwhile, the Anzat Morax Darkblade sat in a bar with other Sadowan forces, drinking peacefully and paying little attention to those around him. A crowd grasped his attention as they entered the tavern and he immediately recognized them as Collective troops. Knowing full well that if there were ground troops on the Citadel, there would be a ship lurking nearby in the system. Shrinking into the shadows of the tavern Morax watched them from the safety of the darkness, preparing to strike with his brethren when the time was right.

As battles began to erupt all over the Citadel, the Sadowans fought briefly and accomplished victory within minutes of each outbreak. The Collective forces that survived rushed back to their docked ship to escape the Citadel and tell their masters of the new Orianist Delegation treaty. Unwilling to risk being exposed so soon after reaching a consensus with the Telosian officials, the Consul initiated directive 8-11 to Calenhad. The Black Guard had infiltrated the enemy ship, planted explosives and left without being seen by the Collective crew on board. As the ship fled the Citadel and prepared to jump to hyperspace, it exploded in a magnificent ball of fire, leaving behind a large amount of debris of what was the former Collective Lancer frigate. The Sadowans had their first victory against the Collective since being driven from the Orian System.
