Baxir Vol is a bitter old Khil who studied for 15 years under the tutelage of the Old Republic's Jedi Academy. The only thing to rival his lust for knowledge of the Force is his ambition and desire to influence others in power. This Dark Council member rose to his status by being a catalyst in the downfall of his Master, Orv Dessrx.
Character History
Order 66
Born in 35 BBY, Baxir Vol was handed over to the Jedi Order during his infancy like many of his Force Sensitive peers. The Khil youngling trained at the Jedi Training Facility on Bogden 3 for 14 years until his mentor, Yoort Thrybbl - a male Dressellian Jedi Knight - took him under his direct tutelage. The pair travelled and studied for three years before Order 66 was enacted.
Caught off guard and attacked by Clone Troopers on Ubrikkia, Yoort Force pushed Baxir to safety as the Dressellian fell before a barrage of blaster fire. When his Master fell, Baxir sputtered in anger and flew into a frenzy, dispatching his the assailants in a brutal exhibition of Force induced rage that left the troopers dead, his side burned from blaster fire, and his lightsaber destroyed. Wounded and distraught, Baxir fled the planet in Yoort's small freighter.
Not knowing where to turn, the Khil set a course for Bogden 3 only to find the Jedi Training Facility burned and abandoned. Scavenging what resources remained - a few datapads, a stack of books, and one of the facility Master's journals. With those materials as his only guidance, the youth determined his best course of action was to go into hiding and continue his own training.
Agriculture on Yablari
Baxir, ambitious like most of his race, found solace in structure that he could advance through. After four years hiding in near solitude, the Khil made his way to Yablari where he acquired a desk job at Eeruda - one of the larger agriculture companies on planet. Baxir's quick rise through the ranks of the company did not, however, match his growth in Force. The disgruntled businessman became cynical with his progress in the Force - often flying into fits of rage when he ran into a concept he couldn't comprehend. Determination kept his secret studies progressing, albeit slowly. A bitter pupil so wrapped up in his own research, Baxir was unaware of his downward spiral into the Dark Side until it was too late. Once there, however, he embraced it because he discovered it on his own.
The next four and a half decades saw Baxir raise to an influential position in Eeruda in charge of exports off planet; become an increasingly ruthless businessman; and slowly increase in his Force aptitude, though the latter still remained a struggle. The Empire and the New Republic rose and fell; the Galactic Alliance came into being; the Yuuzhan Vong invasion came and went - Baxir watched all of that without little interest. The Force was all that he cared about. That...and money.
Time had changed the Khil that had trained in the Jedi Arts from long ago. He had stopped dreaming of becoming a Jedi long before the New Republic was even a dream in anyone's head. Baxir Vol's climb to the upper ranks of Eeruda weren't just driven by his aptitude for business and crunching numbers, he spent his time practicing his Force abilities during business dealings and managed to tip the scales in Eeruda's favor on countless occasions. It was in such a deal that he tipped his hand to the wrong person.
Joining the Brotherhood
In 30 ABY, Baxir Vol found himself in a room with Orv Dessrx d'Tana Arconae who was on Yablari attempting to broker a deal that would help launder money for the d'Tana family where Eeruda would become an unknowing partner. It was in that meeting that Baxir attempted to exert his will on the Teltior that he was discovered. After a few threats and an exertion of the Teltior's will, Orv forced Baxir to divulge his past and the Dark Council member was surprised at the knowledge the Khil had acquired without tutelage. On a return visit a few months later, Orv took Baxir on as a secret pupil in exchange for Eeruda's cooperation with the d'Tana family.
The next five years brought many return visits from the Teltior who brought Baxir resources to sate his thirst for knowledge. With this newfound source of information, Baxir Vol's grasp of the Force skyrocketed.
Character Information
Personality
Alright: realistically, Baxir is a well seasoned businessman - adept at managing massive amounts of complex resources, overseeing inventory, accounting, negotiations, and politics. He has an eye for spotting data inaccuracies and missteps. He likes to have things in order and finds procrastination to be extremely distasteful.
He's ambitious, determined, and irritable.
He's old and quick to point out that he started from less than what you did and accomplished more in his life than you have by your age.
Appearance
Baxir is an old Khil with gray-green skin mottled with faint age spots. As with all Khil, his ears come to points and in place of a jaw and mouth are many hullepi - six larger and many smaller tendrils that Khil use for speech.
Baxir has kept himself in decent physical condition despite his focus on studying the intricacies of the Force. His frame is lean and athletic for an old man.
Gear
- Dual lightsabers. One Purple, one red.
