Delta-1

Delta-1 is a Colonel in the Dlarit Special Operations Group. D-1 was first of thirty four Delta-class Advanced Commandos grown in secret on Gamuslag in 27 ABY. D-1 was given the name Aurek after his designation.

When the DACs first entered service in 28 ABY, Aurek was assigned as a Drill Instructor for the Dlarit Special Operations Group soldiers who guarded the Marakith Skyhook in Seng Karash. In 30 ABY, Aurek was reassigned as adjutant to Governor General Robert Sadow, the Consul of Clan Naga Sadow.

Biography

Aurek was initially assigned as a Drill Instructor for the DSOG soldiers of the Marakith Skyhook on Aeotheran. With all the crime and violence in the streets of Seng Karash, Aurek’s assistance was called upon in numerous altercations and his ruthlessness quickly became known city wide.

During the Invasion of Orian when the True Brotherhood took control over the Marakith Skyhook, Aurek was believed dead along with all the other DSOG troops of the skyhook. After the forces of Clan Naga Sadow regained control of the skyhook, Aurek was found badly tortured and near death in one of the holding cells. What happened or how he survived is something Aurek does not discuss.

For the next year, Aureck helped rebuild and train the soldiers at the skyhook. Meanwhile a darker side began to show as the DAC began to slowly be consumed by the atmosphere of Seng Karash. While clones do not fear death, Aureck began to act as if he was seeking it. He would charge into any situation available, no matter the risk, and would always succeed without harm. For his outstanding performance in his duties he quickly moved up to the rank of Colonel.

The darkness that surrounded the members of House Ludo Kressh began to cover the DAC as well; Aureck became reclusive and began to work undercover to discover the hidden secrets of Seng Karash. The DAC made a very strong impression to Consul Robert Sadow when the Dystopian Leisure was attacked and Aureck assisted in the evacuation. So much that Colonel Aurek was selected by the Consul to serve as his personal Adjutant.

Aurek’s rather violent and ruthless demeanor, which sometimes boarders insanity, stems from the variations exhibited by all of the DAC troopers produced by the program that was launched in 27 ABY. Spending his time in the streets of Seng Karash also likely led to his rather unpleasant behavioral traits. While the DAC troopers all came from the same original prime clone they are not entirely identical. Each exhibits a number of individual traits, having been allowed to maintain a degree of independence compared to the regular DSOG troopers. As the first DAC produced, Aurek was the prototype and the few “imperfections” he exhibited were adjusted in the cloning process for the following thirty three commandos. The method of cloning employed also causes the clones to exhibit various phenotypes, leading to a certain amount of inherent variation between them such as Aurek’s silver hair and grey eyes.

Behind the Scenes

The name Aurek comes from the 1st letter in the Aurabesh alphabet after Delta-1's numerical designation.
