The Imperial Judeccan Guard (IJG) is the main defensive unit on the planet of Judecca, home planet of the Scholae Palatinae Empire in the Cocytus System. This unit falls under the Cocytus System Defense Force, within the Imperial Scholae Guard of the Scholae Palatinae Military.
History
The Imperial Judeccan Guard has always existed in some form, even before the arrival of Clan Scholae Palatinae. The main force for defense on Judecca, it is made up of the most loyal soldiers. It has served in every war and battle the Clan has faced, suffering extreme casualties in some cases, but it has never dissuaded anyone from striving to join.
- 1st Infantry Legion: The 1st Legion has served in one form or another in combat for Scholae Palatinae throughout it's history of being in control of Judecca. During the war with the Yuuzhan Vong, heavy fighting impacted the legion heavily. After being reorganized and restructured, the 1st Legion developed a stricter training regimen and more efficient structure. Since then they have been training harder for their next combat role as well as local security.
- 2nd Infantry Legion: The sister unit to the 1st Legion, it too has existed in some form through the rule of Judecca. Like it's sister unit many of the veteran members fought in the war against the Yuuzhan Vong, however they suffered much heavier casualties during the fighting. Though there are many experienced veterans as leaders, many of the lower ranks both officer and enlisted were fairly green until the most recent fighting. Now they are training and preparing for the next fight while maintaining their local security duties.
- 3rd Infantry Legion: Though having a primary station, is also the Quick Reaction Force for the Judeccan Guard. Their job is to quickly and rapidly deploy to support the other legions in the event of an attack or uprising. Their officers and NCO's are known for being hard but fair. The 3rd Legion is fiercely loyal and claim they would lay their lives down to a man to protect their Royal leaders.
Deployment & Garrison
The Imperial Judeccan Guard is based out of Ohmen, the capital city of Judecca and center of trade. It is populace area, and a centralized location they can quickly respond to any necessary operations across the entire planet from, as well as easy deployment as necessary to other planets within the Cocytus System.
Structure
The Imperial Judeccan Guard consists of the 1st Legion, 2nd Legion and 3rd Legions attached to the Cocytus System Defense Force, as well as the 1st Airlift Squadron and 5th Light Artillery Battery. While the Judeccan Militia is expected to police the civilians and quell any riots or civil unrest, the IJG is expected to fight off any aggressive attacker which is threatening Judecca or the rest of the Cocytus System. The 1st Airlift Squadron is designated to transport troops across the planet, to complete missions, or to transport wounded to hospitals. While the 5th Light Artillery Battery assist the infantry in their missions.
