While searching for holocrons across the galaxy, Jason Kane met many different people. Still, he did not allow himself to be distracted from the pursuit of knowledge. It was as he neared one of his prizes, he was approached by a Dark Jedi. The man at first tried to take the holocron, but after some prodding gave the object over to the Chiss. Smiling, he told the doctor that he knew of a place which contained a greater repository of knowledge, where he might learn more than he could hope about medicine, about the Force, and perhaps even about himself. After this, he was led to Clan Naga Sadow and Sepros by promises of the knowledge he sought.

Zachary James O'Maille was a Dark Jedi of Clan Naga Sadow. While he considers himself a warrior of sorts, he prefers introspection and discussion instead of heavy-handed violence to solve problems. Still, he will do as he feels necessary to protect those who considers family. This may include at times friends, House, or Clan. Despite this, he still considers himself a man without a master, not due to his pride, but feelings of inadequacy. He believes his actions have stripped him of his prior honor, and still seeks to reclaim that which was lost. While fallen, he refuses to embrace the ways of the Sith, seeing their conniving manner as an act of ultimate self-destruction. The Dark Side is a tool, a key to power and ultimately, stability. He wishes that his former brethren could just understand that.

Foreword

The history of the Versea family is longer than has been recorded in Dark Brotherhood records, with it's estate being established by Mora'Tel Versea. The family is drawn together not only by blood, in the case of the Patriarch, Matriarch and their daughter, but also by bounds of friendship and adopted kinship. As such the family may expand over time, though it is mostly rooted in Clan Naga Sadow as of 35 ABY.

Family Traditions

Naming Conventions

Naming conventions follow family standards for those born into the family, but those who are adopted are given a second, Twileki name. For the Patriarch he chose the name Kairn'tel, Kairn meaning black as he considered himself a black sheep within the family. Additional members were gifted names with names whose meaning related to their skills or personality. Some of the family choose to go fully by their new monikers, while others like the Stormwinds have chosen to integrate their newly given names into their legal names. In ceremonial settings their family names are used, but are addressed by their chosen designations in everyday situations.

Family Roles or Status

  • Matriarch (present: Tasha'Vel Versea): The head of the family is chosen by right of succession. Each head is allowed to choose their successor. In cases where no succession is clear, the eldest sibling is expected to assume that position, or to recognize an appropriate successor. While the family generally maintains no real assets, only the head is allowed to call for a blood hunt, or to denounce the bonds of another Dragon. Heads are also traditionally given the right to recognize and name new members of the family.
  • Patriarch (present: Bentre Kairn'tel Stahoes): The Patriarch may be considered “above” regular orders from the Matriarch, but is expected to enforce official decisions and decrees of the family head. Additionally, the Patriarch possesses the right to bring new Versea into the fold but such decisions are still subject to the final approval of the Matriarch when the new member's Twi'leki name is chosen.

Current Members

Tasha'Vel

The founder of the family in its current iteration, Tasha'Vel Versea is the family's Matriarch, currently a member of House Marka Ragnos of Clan Naga Sadow. Tasha excels in martial arts training and specializes in combative telekinesis. Because of her warrior-like spirit, Tasha prefers up close and personal. Never backing out from a fight, she likes to taunt her enemies into getting close proximity before deliver fatal strikes from her Katranin training and her Echani blade.

Bentre Kairn'tel

Bentre is the current Proconsul within Clan Naga Sadow. This Corellian married into the family in 34 ABY, and has served as a Battle Team Leader, an Aedile as well as helped in a number of other positions within the Brotherhood. Though he afffiliated with some gangs and less desirable elements, this slicer turned Sith currently seeks the death of Darth Pravus is revenge for the death of the Obelisk. His activities kept him near the Temple of Sorrow on Sepros and he typically resides on Sepros , but he is still more than willing to jump into the thick in defense of his fellow Sadowans or his Versea kin. The Sith also continues his research in Sith Alchemy, hoping to one day surpass Macron Goura Sadow in the field.

Firith'rar

Janos Stormwind is a fallen Jedi with a rather bleak and pessimistic look on life. He started his Jedi training at a hidden commune on Dantooine and became known as a trouble maker and one who questioned. His greatest achievement as a Padawan was in creating a Serenity Pool to use as an outdoor meditation temple. After the death of his Master, Janos spent a good number of years on the run with his wife. During that time he worked for various people as a bodyguard and lawman and sometimes hit man. More often he assisted his wife by acting as her bodyguard when she was hired on as a healer for various nobles or villages.

Lilith Alema'rha

Lilith Stormwind was born Lilith O'Malley. she was raised by her Uncle Ramsey after her parents were killed. Her early life was good and she was trained in the Force by her uncle and later continued her training on Dosuun where she would meet her husband Janos. Lilith and Janos fled Dosuun after Janos killed their Master when he confronted them on their forbidden love. Lilith is also a trained healer and was able to use her skills on whatever planet she and Janos went to. Though raised to be a Jedi, Lilith understands that all things must have balance, thus, she became a Gray Jedi.

Jason

Jason Kane is a Chiss doctor who hailed from the planet Csilla. A student of the Force as much as a student of medicine, he sought how he might further augment his natural abilities. He once followed only the path of a healer, but since parting ways with his master he has expanded his skill set to include Sith Alchemy, xenobiology, and Force-assisted augmentations.

Still, he will do as he feels necessary to protect those who considers family. This may include at times friends, House, or Clan. While fallen, he refuses to embrace the ways of the Sith, seeing their conniving manner as an act of ultimate self-destruction. The Dark Side is a tool, a key to power and ultimately, stability. He wishes that his former brethren could just understand that.

Drae'lath Ralath

A former Imperial, Drae'lath came to Clan Naga Sadow in 35 ABY. It was in his early Journeyman days that he crossed paths with the Matriarch. A man overcome by the sorrow of his past deeds, Drae'lath confessed his part in the attacks on Ryloth during the Insurgency. Seeing the genuine grief the man felt, Tasha'Vel gave him full forgiveness of his past actions on her homeworld. Her attention did not end there. The Matriarch observed his manner and his attitude, and after some discussion with Kairn'tel, it was decided that Drae'lath Ralath would join the family. After taking the Versea mark, Drae'lath was also known as Tarkona'tel of the Versea.

Former Versea

Fallen Brothers

To date, no Versea following their affiliation with the Dark Jedi Brotherhood have fallen in battle.

Missing In Action

Scarlet Selene appears to have abandoned the family due to her inaction. This may change should she reappear, but what follows her return can not be foreseen.
