| Located in the [[Itaana belt]] beyond [[Yridia IX]], The Sword's Sheath serves as the home of [[House Gladius]] and has a long history of which few are aware of. Created millennia ago in the era of the Old Republic, the large asteroid base was hidden in the middle of the belt. The asteroid had been also equipped with a very powerful planetary shield and an ancient cloaking device, which were both inoperable prior to the occupation of House Gladius when its founding father, Shadow, had lead the house there. The base had been occupied by pirates prior to their demise at the hands of House Gladius.

| On the outside, the base looks like another large asteroid filling the asteroid belt that lazily orbits around Yridae. It is pocked marked with impact craters, about a mile wide, and a dark gray color. It holds no features to mention until one further inspects it. The only sign that this asteroid is different than the millions of other pieces of rock are the two glowing magnetic shields signaling the entry way for shuttles and small space craft.

It also serves to protect the inhabitants within. There are only two places where the shell is broken to allow equipment to come close to the surface. At both poles are communication and radar equipment that almost break the surface. Only the Quaestors know where the equipment is located and anyone who works on them quickly have their minds erased of the incident. This is done to ensure the continued secrecy and safety of the base.
