The policy of the Brotherhood is to preserve as much of a Star Wars feeling in our dealings as possible without inhibiting member flexibility or destroying established works. However, due to the current timeline and other aspects concerning the fictional world of the Brotherhood, not all races within Star Wars can be used. As such, only a select few can be readily used for role-playing purposes.

In this context, races allowed in the DJB are as follows:

  1. All Star Wars races found in any approved Star Wars material and meeting Brotherhood standards, after quotation and verification of the appropriate source,
  2. A grandfathered Custom race.

Brotherhood Standards on Races

As mentioned previously, certain criteria is needed to allow a Star Wars species to be used by the members of the Dark Brotherhood for their characters.

  1. All races must exist within the current timeline of the Brotherhood. No extinct races.
  2. All races must have the ability to access the force.
  3. All races must have readily available information from more than one source.

Available Races

Additions to this list should be sent to the Combat Master, who shall determine the validity of the race for Brotherhood use.
