Sev'aeris L'eonheart is a Zeltron raised by the Arcturi family of the New Republic. Following the death of his foster family at the Battle of Mandalore, Sev'aeris was crippled and began to walk down the path to the Dark Side. Joining the Dark Brotherhood, the young man grew with a grudge towards those who had failed his family during the Vong War, a grudge that helped strengthen him in the ways of the Force. When Naga Sadow was restored to Clan status, the rise of its Aedile awoke a rage within the young man as it was discovered that his idol had survived unscathed from the surface of Mandalore. This rage and subsequent rivalry over the Miraluka's failures prompted Sev'aeris' transfer to Naga Sadow to confront him.

History

From Small Beginnings

Born on Zeltros to a couple of Zeltron musicians; while Sev'aeris never had a father that he knew of, his mother unfortunately suffered the issue of never knowing precisely whom his father was. As her pregnancy had disrupted her schedule as it neared competition, the young mother had little downtime before she returned to her music and touring. The music took her to Taris, a planet down on its luck during the waning years of the Galactic Civil War, in an attempt to help keep the moral of the planet's citizens up. While her work wasn't that of superstar status, it was more than enough to keep herself and her child well taken care of. During the chaos of the Second Battle of Taris, Sev'aeris' mother was murdered by a man far too drunk for his own good and believing she was nothing more than an "escort"; while the Republic Commandos on the surface were too late to prevent the ordeal, a man known as Arthur Arcturi took the young Zeltron into his care along with his other foster children.

Sev'aeris Arcturi prior to the Battle of Mandalore

The next several years saw Sev'arvis growing amongst his new siblings: learning from those such as his idol, the blind Methyas, and trying to follow in the older Arcturi's footsteps despite his much smaller stature and suitability towards his studies. When the Yuuzhan Vong War broke in 25 ABY, the Arcturi family fought as hard as they could to stay away from the front-lines and to keep their children safe. As the fighting grew more tense, and subsequently the fighting amongst the children, the Arcturi knew they couldn't run from the fight forever and began to train their children for combat whenever possible; young Sev'arvis being left behind the lines with his other younger siblings.

During the Battle of Mandalore, the family found themselves separated from one another in the chaos; trying to draw the attention away from his younger siblings, Sev threw a nearby power pack at the approaching Yuuzhan Vong. The attack partially worked as the Vong warrior began to pursue the young man and his allies continued after the remaining children. Unequipped for combat, the young man grabbed yet another power pack in an attempt to defend himself from the sting of the warrior's Amphistaff. The blade deftly cleaved through a portion of the pack like butter resulting in the compressed gasses beginning to escape and become a form of plasma from their interactaction with the partially discharging pack. Shocked by the turn of events, and still holding the damaged pack far too close to his face, Sev'aeris inhaled the gaseous plasma. Writhing in pain with a silent scream, the young man blacked out from the pain in his chest and hands, going into shock. The details surrounding the young Zeltron's miraculous survival are fuzzy as much of the chaos that followed the conflict has affected those involved. It is known that a field medic was able to find and stabilize the young man before bringing him into an infirmary for care. The attending's own reports stated that the severe burns to the man's airways and lungs were enough to have ended his life; yet somehow he had been able to hang on.

Flowing through all beings, the Force had unknowingly aided Sev'aeris in his time of need, allowing him to be saved by medical technology: a respirator with attached air canisters granting the young man his life back. Besides the need for a respirator, the young man opted to wear a set of elbow-length gloves to cover his heavily scarred hands and forearms from curious or prying eyes, the burns they received having also destroyed the nerve endings therein.

Adapting to a new lifestyle

When Sev'aeris was finally permitted to leave the infirmary and he been trained in the care and maintenance of his new lifeline, he immediately sought out a monument to all those who had been lost to the battle with the Yuuzhan Vong. It was the first time he had honestly let his emotions flow freely since he had been saved by the medical staff; the loss of an entire family in a single bloody battle had changed his entire life and left him for the first time truly alone. Even as he began to explore the devastated landscape of Mandalore, he could feel and sense the eyes of everyone upon him as he passed. The young man had no-where to go alone, too young to officially join the Republic as a soldier, but he was also a liability to them with his new handicap. As he stalked the streets he could hear the murmurs, the whispers about how he was useless to them; about how his respirator limited him compared to others.

When the voices finally became too much, when the distrust had finally driven him to the point of no return; the boy snapped. In a sudden fit of rage, the young Zeltron struck down one of the Protectors assigned to care for him; the strength and speed of which he had done it had been exhilarating and something he had only ever seen Methyas capable of. Exiled by his clan and the Mand'alor himself, Sev'aeris left the planet and began to search for acceptance. His parents had referred to Methyas' gifts as "the Force", but had forbade him from joining the Jedi. An interesting prospect to the young man, but something he refused as the Jedi had failed to protect his family and now even the Republic turned their back on him. Exploring outward, the young man found his way near the Corporate sector and the area known as "Sith Space". His manipulative efforts to keep himself alive were swiftly put to an end by a member of something known as the "Dark Brotherhood" who directed him instead to a starship known as the Arcanum.

Upon meeting up with the the migrant Brotherhood, the young Zeltron's studies began swiftly. Typical to most young apprentices of the Brotherhood, Sev'aeris' desire to grow more powerful propelled him forward but his obsession with discovering the secrets of the Force relating to his unprecedented survival kept holding him back from his practical studies. As his studies began to drive him deeper and deeper into the Brotherhood's lore and history, Sev'aeris began to become a ghost; fellow apprentices and docents alike had difficulty finding the young Zeltron aboard the Arcanum if he wished not to be found. This ability became most apparent when the young Krath had slipped unnoticed into a restricted area of the vessel on the heels of a docent; his discovery had brought him before the Headmaster and his assistants who chose to take the young man under his wing and train him as an Operative for the Dark Council and the Iron Throne.

While his new-found position did allow him a degree of freedom over some of his former classmates, the new training regiment was far more strict and far more punishing for his failures. This was a far-cry from the world he had once lived, the life he had once had, but was one that Sev'aeris wouldn't change for anything in the galaxy. As his skills increased, the Brotherhood began their war of reclamation; the recovery of their homeworld of Antei from the Vong, a mission that couldn't have been farther from the truth than they had expected. During the War over Antei, Sev'aeris found himself operating as an aerospace controller aboard one of the Council's vessels; directing Clan assets as well as Council fighter screens during the entire conflict. As the War came to a close, the young Operative found himself caught up in the upheaval of the Council's reorganization. While only a few of the members changes, Sev'aeris became more of a shadow Operative; performing Black Operations or research for members of the Brotherhood who could locate him. His missions were generally always highly classified for various Councillors but due to the nature of his duties his existence was always denied and few would acknowledge they had ever heard of him despite his rising rank within the Brotherhood.

Word of Family

As his work as an Operative continued, changes began to mount for the Brotherhood. The successes of Revan and their Quaestor at subterfuge and information gathering began to surpass that of his own, something that was noticed by the Grand Master himself when he created the position of Voice of the Brotherhood. With a new source of information flooding into the Council and the Grand Master, Sev'aeris' profession as an Operative began to falter. With many of his associates beginning to fade away as rogues, Sev began to take the open availability to return to his studies and expand his network. As his studies began, his explorations began to discover someone using the name of "Severus L'eonheart". It was an unexpected discovery to find someone named L'eonheart after the death of his foster brother, but the name was so similar to his own. Digging deeper, he began to research the young man as much as he could as he continued his own advancements through the Brotherhood. It wasn't until the Brotherhood's vendetta for Salas V, that Sev'aeris' eyes were opened to the truth.

The young man he had been investigating turned out to be none other than his own foster brother, Methyas Arcturi L'eonheart, the young Miraluka having taken on his own persona following the Battle of Mandalore and only recently accepting his true name. The survival of his childhood idol when the rest of his family had died during the conflict awoke a fierce rage within the young Zeltron; his parent's fawning over the Miraluka as a savior had been for naught when none of them had survived despite the young man's "powers". In a fit of rage Sev'aeris went on a rampage, destroying everything within his residence as he swore a bitter vendetta against his former brother. In a display of mockery over his lost family, Sev assumed "L'eonheart" as his family name. As the days passed, the young Krath continued to research and study his former brother, looking for a weakness of opening which he could exploit against the Miraluka and his meteoric rise.

The day never came as following the end of the War for New Tython, Methyas stepped down from Consul of Clan Naga Sadow and seemingly disappeared. In a bid not to lose him or all of his hard work, Sev'aeris requested a transfer into Naga Sadow so that he could confront the former Consul himself.

Profile

An example of a typical respirator.

Appearance

With an almost crimson skin, Sev'aeris looks like a typical Zeltron with a svelte body but can be described as the furthest thing from muscular. He has stark blue hair that sits loosely about his head but remains trimmed above his ears; his emerald green eyes are said to be able to pierce even the blackest of hearts. The only significant detriments to his appearance are his elbow-length leather gloves (often described as evening gloves), his baggy robes and his respirator with its piping connected to an oxygen canister in the small of his back. While the tubing for his respirator is an unusual sight, it is because of the lower cost placed into the device. The oxygen canister is large enough to last a full twenty-four hours, or fourty-eight if he chooses to swap it out for a larger one, but is connected to a specialized restraint which he typically wears upon a layer of undergarments beneath his robes.

While the march of technology has improved overtime, without costly cybernetics, many respirators utilize similar technology to their counterparts from several centuries, if not millenia, back. As the Yuuzhan Vong War had been costly, and Sev'aeris' family had little in the terms of financial gain, the young man found himself saddled with such a unit.

Personality

Sev'aeris is generally a quiet and reserved individual, a rare quality for a Zeltron. Though he is silent, he still is overly friendly when his missions call for it and he can quickly muster up a good old Zeltron charm. Despite his disfigurements he is still very charismatic, especially with the boon of his natural pheromones and empathy. While he is exceedingly quiet and reserved, it is in part due to his nature as a scholar and an stealth operative, his silence often part of a bigger picture where the young man is analyzing every moment around him. Along with his respirator, an implanted enunciator linked to an electronic voice processor enables Sev'aeris' scorched vocal cords to produce speech, the resulting voice an imposing and almost inhuman to those who don't fall prey to his natural Zeltron charm.
