Rules of the Center

The ACC Guide contains all important information for getting started and participating in the ACC.

Joining the ACC

Further information: ACC Exams

Before members can participate in the Antei Combat Center, they must first prove their understanding of the rules by completing the ACC Qualification exam. This exam, which requires an approved Character Sheet to complete, is composed of two parts. The first consists of multiple choice and short-answer questions, which test the member’s grasp of the basic rules and key concepts of the ACC. The second part provides the basis for two different scenarios involving NPC characters (with completed Character Sheets), and members are required to write both a starting post and a finishing post. Based on these, the graders (ACC Judges) can make sure that the member is able to apply information from Character Sheets and ACC guidelines to writing an ACC post. Grading is based on the actual Judging Guide and ACC Rubric.

After successfully completing the ACC Qualification exam, members will have unlocked the ability to make use of the Antei Combat Center.

Halls

Duelist Hall
The Duelist Hall is the standard ACC Hall, where regular 1 vs. 1 duels are held between members. Most regular matches will take place in the Duelist Hall, as well as matches held for activity-based ladders. Matches can be ELO-ranked or unranked, according to the requesting member’s choice.

Cooperative Hall
The Cooperative Hall is designed for cooperative storytelling, rather than versus matches. In the Cooperative Hall, members write in tandem to tell a story rather than writing to defeat one another. As it is designed for cooperative events, ELO is not affected by Cooperative Hall matches

Scenario Hall
The Scenario Hall is designed for prompted storytelling, rather than relying on user created story lines. The venue and prompt are selected by the members, or at random, at the beginning of the match and then can proceed as a 1 vs. 1 duel or even a cooperative encounter depending on the prompt in use.

Competition Hall
The Competition Hall is a unique Hall that is designed for specific competitions. The typical ACC tournament is held in a bracket-style, single elimination tournament that requires participants to sign up prior to the event's start. The ACC site keeps track of the brackets and shows the advancement for the winner's of each round.

Funderdome
The Funderdome Halls are a place for the more unconventional, less serious matches of the ACC. Here, participants can let loose with comedy battles or character-building encounters, with more freedom to tell their own story within the ACC format. Matches can be ELO-ranked or unranked, according to the requesting member’s choice.

ACC Society

Brotherhood members who have passed the ACC Qualification exam become part of the ACC Society. The Society doesn’t have incremental ranks like the Inquisitorius or the SA Soceity. Instead, members have a variable score called an Elo ranking. This ranking increases and decreases based on ACC wins or losses respectively, but the magnitude of the change is based upon the participants’ respective Elo scores. If a high-ranking member wins against a low-ranking member, their Elo gain is relatively little. If they lose against a low-ranking member, their Elo loss is instead quite substantial. On the other side, if a low-ranking member wins against a high-ranking member, they gain a large increase in their score, and if they lose against a high-ranking member their rank decrease will be relatively modest.

Each quarter the member with the highest Elo gain is granted the title of Avatar of Strife.

ACC Staff

Main article: [[Combat Master|Combat Master]]

The Staff of the ACC consists of the Combat Master, who oversees the day-to-day operations of the Center on behalf of the Voice, and a selection of Judges who grade ACC Exams and judge completed matches. Aside from the Combat Master, staff positions are filled as needed, and positions may become available for application at any time.

At the bare minimum, ACC Judges must be Qualified members of the ACC and have a proven grasp of the mechanics of the ACC and the judging rubric. They should also show that they are capable of making impartial judgements, regardless of the participants of a match.

The current Combat Master is Zenod'ande'rson.
