History
Early life
Childhood: The Early Years 18 ABY - 24 ABY
During the early years of life, Izanami’s world consisted of the two caregiver giants she knew as her parents and her twin sister, the other half of her personality. Izanami was always a happy child, but rarely smiled. For years, life consisted of simply being taken care of while playing with her sister. The bond between Izanami and her sister continued to deepen.
After a few years, Nocarr began taking Izanami out into a nearby field and taught her to fight with small-bladed weapons. Having her use two short pieces of wood, the man led his eldest daughter through the movements of several forms. Izanami grew extremely proficient in the forms based on her father’s teachings and before long was even able to outpace the man, which earned her much praise from her father.
Childhood: Enclosed Happiness 24 ABY - 29 ABY
For years, the small Nol family dwelt in something resembling peace. The occasional spat with a neighbor would occur or a small bandit group would threaten the nearby village. These incidental things were usually brushed aside as minor inconveniences.
The years dragged on and Izanami became more than proficient with her weapons. Mastering form after form, the girl’s curiosity seemed inexhaustible. Her curiosity finally led her to the inevitable conclusion of her family. She began her training as an assassin like both of her parents had done. The younger twin had a temperament that ill-suited the mindset of an assassin and was then assigned to attend her older sister in the capacity of a servant.
Neither sister complained of the situation. They embraced it with full enthusiasm as it meant they would never be very far from each other unless the older sister was receiving instruction from her masters. As the years progressed, Izanami began to master the forms and skills needed for her assignments in the future.
Dark Brotherhood History
Childhood: Raw Power and The End of Innocence 29 ABY
Shortly after the girls had turned eleven, members from one of the feral tribes came to call late one night. These marauders knew of the girls and their sensitivity to the Force; misplaced fear and hope for profit led the men that night to kill an unsuspecting Nocarr and Suyarlar.
Having heard noises down the hall in their otherwise quiet home, Izanami and her sister rose from their beds to see what the problem was. As the girls moved through the house on silent footsteps, the young Assassin lifted a pair of daggers from one of the tables in the hallway that stored the family’s heirlooms.
Armed with her ancestor’s weapons and her sister’s courage, Izanami continued through the house looking for the ones responsible. Upon finding their parents’ bodies, she froze while Din screamed. Within moments, the marauders had found the girls and laughed as they saw one of them holding two ancient daggers. The bandits raped both girls and left them for dead, but chance would have it another way for the older sister. Din died that night, but Izanami was located by a passing doctor who saw the flames of the surrounding fields. He took collected the still living girl and brought her to the Facility.
Childhood: The Facility 29 ABY - 31ABY
To be added.
Arriving at Lyspair filled the young Izanami with unease which in turn fueled her temper even more. By the end of the first week, few wanted anything to do with the abrasive, violent young Krath. The young assassin was trained to observe, listen and react accordingly to her situation. She knew that the only way she would be reunited with her sister would be to complete her training here. She continually told herself that it was no different from being in classes at home with her sister waiting within her quarters for her return.
Adolescence: Learning Curve 31 ABY - 33 ABY
The agility of Izanami’s mind, coupled with her intelligence gave her ample footing to vault herself through the ranks with ease. The girl learned quickly from each teacher she was assigned the same as she had on Cathar learning from the masters within her extended family. With these things in mind, she rose swiftly and became further able to protect her sister.
Upon reaching Dark Jedi Knight, she designed her first lightsaber and was given the robes fitting of her station. Unsatisfied with her rank, she continued to complete task after task before her and was rewarded for it.
With wars and vendettas behind her, the young adolescent was promoted to Prelate of the Obelisk order shortly before she vanished along with her sister. Months later, reports were filed by the Kuroshin recruiters that one of the Dark Jedi had landed near the fringes of the Outlands.
Adolescence: Return of the Family Head 33 ABY - 35 ABY
Izanami returned to her family’s lands after her elevation to Prelate to find that her family as not killed off entirely. Several of their distant relatives had survived, but only she remained of the pure Kurai line. As a trained assassin and as a Dark Jedi, she was asked to become the head of her family.
After several years of reinstating her family’s methods of training, Izanami appointed masters to teach the children and adults to take them on missions. The system appears to function thus far.
Adulthood: Rise of the Kurai 36 ABY
Izanami grew rapidly within her mind after months of grueling exercises with the intent of uncovering her forgotten past. The strain of rediscovery led her to rename herself completely, shucking herself from the animalistic trappings of her former life. Adopting the monicker of Izanami Kurai, she set forward to create a group of individuals who were capable of protecting dig sites where artifacts could be located. Her first course of action was to bring Maelous Ascarend into the group as the head of security.
