- "A lion does not concern himself with the opinions of sheep."
- ―Aleister Mavros
Aleister Mavros (pronounced AHL-IYST-er Mav-ros) - also known as the Second Dreadbringer - is a human-Zeltron hybrid, and the current Battleteam Leader of Clan Plagueis's Opress Squadron. As a graduate of Ronovi Tavisaen's tenure as Headmaster, he possesses a fanatical devotion to her and sees himself as her right hand man; even if she says otherwise. He is extremely arrogant and selfish. Believing that his status as a Sith makes him inherently better than others. This is a belief instilled in him by his mother from birth.
Considered a dangerous wildcard by many due to his seemingly disconnected personality, punctuated by moments of violent rage and hatred. Even from an early age he found himself at odds with his superiors over his obsession with forbidden knowledge. He is considered very self reliant and confident to a fault. Very few people trust Mavros as he has shown an apathy towards the feelings of others and general lack of concern in regards to anyone's safety.
Biography
Early Life (11 ABY - 19 ABY)
A Child of Two Worlds
- "You will be everything that I could not, my son. You will do great things."
- ―Liora Krieg
Eleven years after the Battle of Yavin, Aleister Krieg is born on the planet Eos. The illegitimate son of Imperial Remnant Rear Admiral Par Signas and the Zeltron Dark Jedi Liora Krieg. Due to the illegitimacy of his birth, young Aleister did not know his father. He knew of him and who he was, but he never once met the man who gave the young boy his jet black hair and strong facial features. In 13 ABY, after a decade of good relations with the Imperial Remnant Fleet, The Emperor's Hammer, growing tension lead the Council of Seven Brethren to begin slowly withdrawing key positions and resources from the Command Staff, thus undermining the unstable position the Remnant had claimed.[3]
Liora Krieg, being a proud Dark Jedi, and holding no particular love for the Empire, was amongst the masses who followed the Seven to Antei, taking two year old Aleister with her. Unbeknownst to the pair, Par Signas had perished in the fighting. It would be several years before Liora learned of the death of her one-time lover. It would be even longer before Aleister learned of his father's death, but by that point he would have found his path in life and appeared unfazed by the news.
Entering the Academy
- "The Dark Side is strong in you, my son. You are more powerful than I have sensed."
- ―Liora Krieg's parting words to her son.
A devout follower of the Dark Side, Liora Krieg was more than pleased when her son began exhibiting Force Sensitivity shortly before his third birthday. Knowing that it wouldn't be long before the boy would be taken, Liora began imparting her own beliefs onto the boy. She taught him that, as a Dark Sider, he was superior to all others. A Krath, Krieg taught her son that knowledge is power, no matter the source. Despite future events, this lesson stuck with Aleister, and formed the basis of his personal philosophy.
His mother taught him to rely on his emotions, for they gave him strength. To rely on his passion, for it gave him focus. To rely on the Dark Side, for it would set him free. These lessons would have a profound, long lasting effect on the boy. Growing into a selfish and arrogant person, who truly believes that his better than you. By the end of the year three year old Aleister would be taken to the Shadow Academy on Lyspair to be raised alongside the other Force Sensitive children of the Brotherhood.
They did not know this, but their parting would be the last time Liora and Aleister would see each other.
Violent Tendencies and a New Path
- "Violence won't solve everything... But is sure makes me feel good."
- ―Aleister Krieg
Over the next couple of years Aleister would grow and learn with the other children. But his ingrained beliefs prevented him from making deep connections with others. Thanks to his Zeltron parentage, he should have been able to empathize with others more easily, but he seemed to almost deliberately ignore the feelings of others. Often treating his classmates as a nuisance to be tolerated, nothing more.
His mother's teachings led him to rely almost exclusively on his emotions. This reliance often led him to violence as an answer to any and all problems. Such as one incident in 17 ABY, when he crippled a fellow student over some minor slight. Whatever sparked the altercation has been long forgotten; what happened after has not.
On the 245th day of the year, Krieg was having lunch with his classmates when a boy across the table said something that offended the young Aleister. Who proceeded to leap across the table and tackle the boy to the ground. Easily getting past the boy's guard into a mount position, and raining down with fists and forearms, Krieg pummeled the boy while the others watched on in horror. Someone finally summoned an adult when Aleister traded his fists for a nearby metal meal tray and began to bludgeon the boy over the head with it. The adults were finally able to pull the incensed Krieg, kicking and screaming and covered in blood, off the the other boy just as the young Zeltron hybrid stabbed the child in the eye with a fork.
In the aftermath, Aleister found himself sitting before the Eclectic Pedagogues in charge of all unenrolled students. Here, Krieg learned that while the boy would need a cybernetic eye to lead a normal life, this was an unlikely future. Due to the severe head trauma he had suffered. The metal tray had nearly bashed the boy's head in, and he would likely never fully recover.
Fully expecting to be admonished and punished for this, Aleister was quite surprised to instead he was introduced to a ranking Sith at the Academy. This individual praised his strength and explained that he had demonstrated many of the traits sought by the Sith. He then informed the boy that he would begin learning the ways of the Sith. This only served to further Aleister's belief that he was better than the other students; most of whom hadn't even yet been selected by one of the orders. However, despite his new learnings, he would never forget his mother's lessons about knowledge and power.
The Third Brotherhood Civil War
With the emergence of Jaac Cotelin, clone of Grand Master Jac Cotelin and self proclaimed Grand Master, in 19 ABY the Dark Jedi Brotherhood was plunged into civil war. While the conflict never reached the halls of the Shadow Academy, the events of the shook Aleister's life; with Liora Krieg perishing in the fighting. In the aftermath it was revealed that she had supported the clone Jaac Cotelin and was branded a traitor.
A Black Day
- "Liora Krieg was a traitor. I am Aleister Mavros, son of the Sith."
- ―Mavros disavowing his mother.
After the reveal of Liora Krieg's betrayal, Aleister would publicly disavow his mother as a traitor. He also officially changed his surname to Mavros and declared himself a Child of the Sith. He did briefly consider taking his late father's surname, but eventually decided against it. Based on the fact that he barely knew his father, and the name Signas was an Imperial name. Aleister did not see himself as an Imperial, no he was Sith. And so like the Sith of old, he chose a new name to symbolize the abandonment of his old life.
Child's Play (20 ABY - 24 ABY)
A Concerning Outlook
- "He doesn't think 'Yes I can.' He thinks 'Yes I did.'"
- ―One of Mavros's instructors.
In the months following his mother's death, the young Aleister Mavros continued to demonstrate concerningly aggressive behavior, always solving problems with violence. His natural empathic abilities allowing him to more easily feed on the emotions of others. In 20 ABY another violent incident occurred.
During a sparing session with heavy plastoid blade, Mavros's opponent began using a very crude version of the Dun Moch technique to taunt Mavros. While able to mostly ignore the boy's attempts at goading him, Mavros was undone when the boy insinuated that he was a traitor, like his mother. Mavros flew into a rage and, taking a two-handed grip on his weapon, attacked the boy with heavy sweeping attacks. The raw strength of his attacks were enough to easily overpower his opponent. At one point Mavros raised his weapon high to attack the boy's head. But when the boy brought his weapon up to defend, Mavros swung low. Driving his weapon into the side of the boy's left knee, shattering the joint and causing the boy to collapse in pain. Now at this age, sparring sessions were meant to stop once a combatant yielded. But with Mavros seeing red, the boy's cries of defeat and pain fell on deaf ears, as Aleister began savagely beating the boy. As they were sparring in a large group, it took some time for others to hear the boy's anguished cries over the din of combat. It was only when Mavros shattered the boy's collarbone did someone acknowledge that something was wrong. The instructors arrived just in time to witness the boy, now kneeling in pain, get the back of his head caved in with a plastoid weapon. The boy died there on the floor, laying face down in a pool of his own blood and tears.
For killing a fellow student, Aleister found himself being reprimanded and punished for his actions. This was an unfamiliar experience for the boy who was accustomed to being praised for his violent actions. As punishment he was barred class for a week and made to clean the training hall everyday.
This event angered Mavros, but not because he was punished. But rather because he had allowed his rage to consume him. His mother had always taught him to rely on his emotions as a source of strength. But she had always stressed to be a master of your emotions, never the other way around. In allowing his rage to take control, he had broken this tenent. This was unacceptable. Only lower beings allowed themselves to be ruled by their emotions. He was more than that, he was better than that. He was a Force User, he was Sith. During his week-long suspension, Mavros began to look inward and find solace in his own power. The boy who returned to class a week later was cold to the world. No longer would he touch off at the slightest provocation. Initially his instructors were pleased with this change in attitude. But before long they realized that they simply traded one monster for another.
Despite his natural empathic abilities, he seemed to actively disregard others feelings and well being. He also seemed blind to other's safety. When sparring he began to utilize a moveset of brutal and effective techniques that left his opponents bruised and bloody. But never broken to the point of admonishment.

Personality
- "Asha Hyal Azinimas. - Victory Craves Knowledge."
- ―Aleister Mavros's Personal Motto.
Manipulative, cunning and ambitious, Aleister Mavros is known for his stoic, intelligent, and calm demeanor. Even with the blade of a lightsaber pressed against his neck, he remains relaxed and confident throughout. Mavros will often set elaborate traps for his allies to test their genuine value and effectiveness to him. His disregard for sentient life is seen by many as sociopathic.[1]
Mavros is amoral and highly apathetic, but not incapable of emotional experiences. He also frequently voices his experiences of shame and disappointment. Mavros takes great pleasure in the very suffering of others and will often torture weak minions, prisoners and opponents for simple amusement. The Sith electrocutes those are defiant, and have killed subordinates for just approaching the Sith. Mavros also does not take it kindly when being talked down to because of his heritage and the history of his parents.[1]
He is cynical, sarcastic, self-centered, anti-social, lacks empathy and seems to be taking great pleasure in insulting, belittling, pranking, scamming, trolling, and humiliating people for his own amusement. Mavros initially appears to be a very kind, well-respected scholar and is looked up to by many students in the Shadow Academy. However, this is just a mask to disguise his manipulative, and very dangerous, nature. In truth, he cares very little for his underlings, and is willing to use almost everyone around him as pawns to achieve his goals. He is willing to stop at nothing to further his ambitions, including manipulating or killing anyone if he deems it to be necessary. He frequently toys with his underlings for amusement.[1]
As the Dreadbringer of Opress Squadron, Mavros controls his subordinates through acquired respect or fear. He keeps more rowdy individuals like Fenrir in line through intimidation and mind games.
Mavros enjoys conflict, often showing up wherever there is potential for one, he usually prefers to observe the fight before getting involved. However, when provoked, he fights with ferocity, and often extreme cruelty, rarely striking to kill until his target has been completely disabled and humiliated. Mavros is very egotistical. He freely taunts and belittles his opponents, often acting if they don't pose any threat to him before counterattacking.[1]
Ronovi Tavisaen has some sense of Mavros's emotions and feelings, correctly pointing out when Mavros is genuinely enjoying himself.
Despite possessing a thorough understanding of sentient behavior and tendencies, as well as being able to determine people's thoughts and predict their reactions with high accuracy, he just seem to genuinely not care about them. His Zeltron nature grants him heightened empathic abilities and a deep understanding of people's feelings and emotions, he just disregards them, believing himself above them.[1]
He's a person most people, himself included, can never fully trust, because they never know what he can or will do. Unlike his predecessor, Wrathus, who aspired to see the galaxy burn and rebuild it as a new empire, Mavros is a dangerous madman.[1]
His method? Irrelevant. His motives? Unknowable. He seems to seek chaos for chaos's sake. He delights in destruction and devastation. And finds true enjoyment in the suffering and misfortune of others.[1]
Sociopathy
Many have described Mavros as a sociopath. He himself has even acknowledged his socipathic tendencies. A sociopath is a term used to describe someone who has antisocial personality disorder (ASPD). People with ASPD can’t understand others’ feelings. They’ll often break rules or make impulsive decisions without feeling guilty for the harm they cause.[1]
People with ASPD may also use “mind games” to control friends, family members, co-workers, and even strangers. They may also be perceived as charismatic or charming. Mavros consistently exhibits a majority of the core traits of someone with ASPD, as well as a litany of the other possible symptoms of ASPD.
The core traits he exhibits include; He doesn’t respect social norms or laws. He lies, deceives others, uses false identities or nicknames, and uses others for personal gain. He shows aggressive or aggravated behavior. He doesn’t feel guilt or remorse for having harmed or mistreated others.
Physical Traits
Aleister Mavros is the hybrid result of a Human father and a Zeltron mother. He favors his mother's side of the family with a striking shade of pink skin, marred only by a small scar over his right eye, and a stylized tribal eye tattoo begins on his right pectoral and crawls over his shoulder and down his right arm. Wild black hair paired with a braided black beard completes his roguishly handsome look.[1]
Aleister towers over most humans, but wears his weight evenly across his frame. Thanks to a strong commitment to staying in shape, Aleister is rewarded with taut, lean muscles. These grant him endurance and bursts of speed and power.[1]
Aleister carries himself with the confidence and swagger of someone who "knows" that they are better than you. Only his fiery orange eyes belying the anger and rage within him.[1]
Attire
Aleister's robes consist of black breeches, black and brown armored leather boots with gold accents, a dark grey and red kama with gold trim is held up with a brown leather belt and golden buckle, worn over a small piece of brown leather waist armor. He also wears brown leather kneepads and shoulder armor. The Shoulder armor is connected by various leather straps. This is worn under a dark grey and red vest with gold trim. A pair of long finger-less black gloves complete the look.[4]

Powers and Abilities
Lightsaber Training
Aleister Mavros is an extremely skilled and experienced lightsaber duelist. Even at a young age he showed a skill with a lightsaber that outstripped his classmates and even an instructor or two. He quickly grew unsatisfied with the clunky nature of basic lightsaber training and began cultivating a skill-set based entirely around lightsaber to lightsaber combat.
Though styles like Form I, Form III, and Form V are more practical in the age of blasters, Mavros's dedication to the blade drove him toward the second form of lightsaber combat, Makashi. While he integrates other forms and techniques into his combat style, everything is based on the principals of Makashi. A staunch lightsaber traditionalist, he appreciates the lack of acrobatics that the style possesses, and is fairly disdainful of combat styles that utilize extensive acrobatics like Ataru. Mavros is a strong proponent of using a single blade in combat, and believes that multi-bladed styles are somewhat garish.
Mavros's mastery of Makashi is exemplary, considered to be one of the greatest users of Makashi of his time, even at his young age. His bladework was outstandingly elegant and precise, displaying a pin-point accurate and unpredictable offense reinforced by an almost effortless defense that are so thoroughly practiced that his defense is almost instinctual. Mavros's style was fluidly defensive, using his superior mobility and balance as well as feints to entrap his opponents, and footwork to outmaneuver, basin himself on balance, back-and-forth charges and sudden retreats, to work his way around opponents, aptly deflecting and evading their attacks rather than trying to meet them head-to-head first. This allows him to effectively conserve his energy in order to later unleash rapid and devastating counters. He is known to attack with a fencing-style thrust.
While his skill in Form II is great, Mavros still falls victim to the form's inherent weaknesses, primarily its difficulty in facing multiply opponents. He has doubled-down on this weakness by his application of Form V techniques as a means of counteracting Makashi's other great drawback; a lack of kinetic power. This has also made him extremely competent at deflecting blaster bolts, despite Makashi's weakness against projectile weapons.
Considered a master of his respective form, he has learned the Sith art of Dun Moch, a tactic that focuses on disrupting an opponent's concentration by the use of psychological warfare. A skill that comes naturally to someone who believes themselves better than everyone else.
Lightsaber Form - Vegvisir
Vegvisir, also known as The Way of the Varactyl, or The Unforgiving Form, is a unique hybrid form of lightsaber combat. Developed by Mavros for the purpose of modern lightsaber-to-lightsaber, to address the failings of Form II, Vegvisir is a purely dueling focused form. Relying on precision and efficiency, and is characterized by power attacks and defense immediately followed by counterstrike. Vegvisir allows Mavros to defend themselves against an opponent with minimal effort, while placing a heavy focus on ending the fight in a single strike.
Description
On the most base level, Vegvisir is a blend of Forms II and V. But the intricacies of the style go much deeper. Developed by Mavros with the strengths of Makashi in mind, but with greater focus on power strikes. The early levels of Vegvisir are devised to provide a defense against an opponent's blade. The foundation for all future techniques of the form.
The higher levels of the form focused on utilizing a combination of blocks and parries, until an opening appeared to strike. But rather than using the jabs and light cuts of Makashi, or the heavy slashes and chops of Djem So, Vegvisir focuses on a single unforgiving stab or lethal slash. The blade manipulation required for this form is very calculated, requiring intense focus and expert timing. It is described as elegant, powerful and precise, relying on feints to confuse and trap opponents. These refinements allow Mavros to attack and defend with minimal energy expenditure. Vegvisir places a great deal of emphasis on footwork in both attack and defense. The footwork of the form commonly follows a single line, front to back, shifting the feet to keep in perfect balance as Mavros advances and retreats. However unlike traditional Makashi, Vegvisir requires Mavros to not only counterattack, but to channel everything you have into the strike, combining Force-enhanced strength with a single powerful attack to overpower and completely overwhelm an opponent's defenses. These elements combine to create a form that is extraordinarily effective for lightsaber combat against a single opponent.
Vegvisir shares Form II's emphasis on fluid movement and anticipation of a weapon being swung at its target, and thus requires very smooth motion of both the blade and the body. In fact, Mavros often seems so relaxed when employing the form that he appears to be dancing.
However, for all the strengths and effectiveness, Vegvisir is not without its weaknesses. As it is designed to combat enemy duelists rather than gunmen, it provides poor blast deflection training. The form also is most potent when used against a single opponent, and is reduced in effectiveness when fighting groups of adversaries. These weakness are consequences of its basis in Makashi, and are only compounded by Djem So.
Known Moves and Maneuvers
Being a style geared towards efficiency, Vegvisir relies on balance and economy of movement, preferring to refrain from the leaps and acrobatics common to Form IV. The Vegvisir opening stance is a single handed high guard. The saber is held in the strong hand, and held near the face with the palm facing inward, the blade parallel to the ground pointed towards the opponent, and the feet are shoulder width apart. This stance requires Mavros to face his opponent side on. The lightsaber hilt is held with the thumb pointing down the length of the blade to allow for smaller, tighter, more accurate movements of the saber. The rest of the fingers wrap around the hilt holding it tightly, but not so tight as to limit the fluidity of the movements. Vegvisir borrows the typical Makashi flourish, consisting of rapidly moving the tip of the blade in an X shaped pattern through the air, often following the Makashi salute. The salute is not an attack or maneuver but a challenge to the opponent. The saber is held in one hand, brought up vertical directly in front of Mavros's face, then swung down in a Makashi flourish.
Mavros is skilled in the application of three Marks of Contact; the Shiak, the Sai cha, and the Sai tok. Applications of the shiak were a natural result of Vegvisir footwork and swordplay, all of which followed a single back and forth line, and is seen as an indication of skill and control. Two maneuvers that Vegvisir borrows from Makashi are the "contentious opportunity" and the "Makashi riposte". The "contentious opportunity" is based around recognizing and exploiting an opening in the opponent's defense before swiftly moving to strike down the exposed enemy. The "Makashi riposte" is similarly designed to slightly alter the angle of an opponent's attack before quickly retaliating with a counter strike.
Mavros has developed a handful of techniques distinct to Vegvisir. Among them is the "Vegvisir execution" a powerful counter strike aimed at beheading the opponent while stepping past them, and the "Shattering spear" a devastating vertical stab, performed by dropping into a crouch to get past an enemy's guard before rising to a standing position while aiming a stab at the opponent's face and throat.
Force Powers
Telekinesis
Aleister Mavros demonstrates great prowess and strength in the use of telekinesis. He displays great skill in using telekinesis in finer, more precise tasks, such as disarming an opponent or manipulating small objects in very precise and minute ways.
Despite his strong connection to the Force, Mavros rarely uses telekinesis during lightsaber duels and focuses instead on the physical aspects of combat.
Force Lightning
As a trained Sith, Aleister Mavros is extremely proficient in Force lightning, with his skill rivaling even the best. He can cast energy so powerful that it will kill an opponent with a single blast, and can target more than one opponent at a time. A technique that Mavros likes to use is the ability to channel lightning attacks through his lightsaber, thus amplifying his blade's strikes with dark side energy.
He is also highly skilled in the use of Force lightning as a means of both torture and execution.
Martial Arts
Aleister Mavros is a student of many things. One of them being martial arts. Proficent in many styles, he most often uses the Broken Gate form. His use of the form has been seen as almost prolific and his skill and technique have earned him titles like Sifu, Sensei, Mentor. People have sought him out for his knowledge and ability in the form. however he has not, as of yet, taken on any formal apprentices.
Languages Known
Aleister Mavros was fluent in Galactic Basic, and understands to a certain degree the verbal form of the droid language Binary, but can not speak it himself. He is also fluent in the Sith tongue thanks to his studies.
Galactic Basic
Like all sentient humaniods raised in a proper society, Mavros can speak, read, and write in Galactic Basic. Although he has noted many idiosyncrasies and inconsistencies in the language that annoy and irritate him.
Sith
Thanks to his studies in the Shadow Academy's archives and his obsession with ancient knowledge, Mavros initially taught himself to read and write in the Sith language before taking formal lessons in the spoken tongue. He is now considered fluent in the tongue across all forms.
Other Abilities
- "Take away my weapon, strip me of my connection to the Force, handcuff me, and just to be safe blindfold and gag me. Then and only then will this be a fair fight."
- ―Aleister Mavros, to a Non-Force User
In addition to his Force powers, lightsaber combat skills, and his proficiency in hand to hand combat, Mavros is adept at the use of manipulation and torture. Much like the Sith of long ago, Mavros is extraordinarily strong willed and able to resist the influences of outer forces.
Mavros is highly intelligent and sharp witted. A scholar at heart, his time in the Shadow Academy has helped him cultivate a great wealth of knowledge; primarily in the fields of history, lore, and language.
Expanded Dossier
I Am Sith
Aleister Mavros is a devout follower of the Sith, almost exclusively following their teachings and disregarding all others. A student of history and philosophy, he considers himself the last remaining member of the long forgotten Sphere of Sith Doctrine. Basing much of his own personal philosophy on the teachings of Darth Nox, Arctis, and Thanaton. He believes that to be Sith is not dependent on your biology. As such, Mavros cares little about one's standing in terms of one's species, valuing those who are useful and loyal to him and the Sith.
Dreadbringers
- "Aureole if Midwan - Glory and Power."
- ―Opress's Motto
The members of Opress Squadron are the mad dogs of Plagueis, and Aleister Mavros is the Alpha of the pack. He leads this team on missions that no one else will touch, operating less like shocktroopers and more like an elite team of commandos. Each of Opress's Savages has something that makes them unique within the group. While his predecessor's had been his almost sexual level of enjoyment for death and destruction, Mavros's is a cold, efficient approach to combat.
His cold detached outlook paired with his talent, and devotion to his skill with a lightsaber have lead many to label him as a heartless commander. But he could care less for what others think of him, he lets the success of his team speak for itself. Where the First Dreadbringer sought to batter Opress's enemies into submission through sheer force, the Second will use any and all methods to achieve victory. This makes him a dangerous and hated enemy to any combat traditionalists.
Lightsaber
Aleister Mavros carried and used a standard issue armory saber with a red blade as a noviate and a journeyman. Upon reaching knighthood he began carrying a curved-hilt duelist saber as it better fit his preferred style of combat. Eventually replacing this with a custom hilt.
Mavros makes use of a single lightsaber, crafted by his own hand using ancient teachings and materials sourced from across the galaxy. Constructed of strange alloys developed by Mavros himself, with the aid of master smiths. It is rumored to be made of agrinium, durite, and haysian smelt, depending on who you ask. Mavros refuses to divulge the exact metallurgy used, and has silenced any who were present for the construction. Experts in the field of lightsaber construction have identified that Mavros's saber must use a set of rubat crystals as the focusing crystals, due to the incredibly clear and focused blade, but they are split on the nature of it primary crystal. Its deep blood-red color unlike that of a bled kyber crystal. This has lead some to believe that it does not use a kyber as its primary crystal.
Heraldry
Heraldry is a broad term, encompassing the design, display, and study of armorial bearings, as well as related disciplines, such as vexillology, together with the study of ceremony, rank, and pedigree. As a student of history and tradition, Aleister Mavros has dedicated a great deal of his time and energy to, not only the development of his own heraldry, but the overall study of the craft. And while he has not yet served in the offices of the Herald as his predecessor did, he has expressed a desire to do so in the future. Mavros's personal heraldry is primarily focused around the use of a heraldic achievement, a field use warbanner, and the various pieces of official formal attire he wears.
Coat of Arms
After receiving his knighthood Mavros adopted a set of arms of his own design. These arms are blazoned as follows:
Sanguine, a bordure argent a dragon sergeant sable. Upon a stormtrooper helm argent with a wreath argent and sanguine a vol argent with a dagger sanguine, mantled sanguine doubled argent. On either side a wyvern argent, tongued sanguine. Motto "Asha Hyal Azinimas" in the compartment below the shield, upon a scroll sanguine with argent medals of the orders of the Grand Master's Royal Guard, the Shadow Academy, the Sith, the Shroud Syndicate, and the Inquisitorious.
The motto, Asha Hyal Azinimas, translated literally, is: "Victory Craves Knowledge". This sentiment is evident throughout the full achievement with the dragon charge representing a "Guardian of all knowledge", the wyvern supporters representing "Valor & protection", the vol in the crest representing "Swiftness & protection", the dagger in the crest representing someone who is "Ready for battle", and the Stormtrooper helm representing his heritage as a soldier of the Empire. The full achievement is depicted in the form of a large colored mural in the owner's suite and common area of Mavros's personal GX1 Short Hauler.
Warbanner
While on the field of battle, or attending official gatherings, Mavros flies a warbanner crafted by the office of the Herald. The banner itself is made of a dark red satin fabric and cut in the stately pattern with ornate trim. It has no other striping or patterns and simply bears the black sergeant dragon of his coat of arms. The banner is supported on silver rails and adorned with a Plagueis logo medallion, tassets of the Grand Master's Royal Guard, Inquisitorious, Shadow Academy Society, and the Sith Order. It also carries the sashes of a Magistrate to the Herald, this is despite Mavros never serving in that office.[2]
Formal Attire
Now, while Mavros prefers to wear his personal attire, he does have several formal outfits that he wears for different functions. These outfits range from the uniform of an Iron Legion Officer to the robes of an accomplished Shadow Academy student.
Chief Inquisitor Armor
The armor of a Chief Inquisitor is a set of advanced armor consisting of a cuirass with pauldrons and tassets, boots, gloves and cowl. It is designed to optimize movement and flexibility while remaining absolutely silent, though still affording a reasonable amount of protection from harm. It emphasizes form as well, remaining sleek and intimidating in appearance to align with the expectations of the individual. Despite his devotion to the Sith, Mavros acknowledges the mistake it would be to wear bright red in this role and elects to wear an all black version of the armor.[5]
Fellow Robes
Known as Fellow Robes, this is a set of armor granted to accomplished students of the Shadow Academy. It consists of crystal embedded pauldrons connected by a chain at the neck, as well as a large belt holding an emblem at the center and a series of additional crystals on either side. It also has an armor chestplate, gauntlets, and greaves. A tunic bearing the emblem of the Shadow Academy completes the ensemble with a black body suit. Mavros's personal set of robes are tailored in the bright crimson that denotes him as a member of the Sith Order.[6]
Legion Officer's Uniform
Easily the outfit that Mavros will wear the least, due to his stance that a Sith ranks above a member of the common military any day, the Iron Legion Uniform consists of a double-breasted tunic with a round collar and matching trousers, a long jacket, a pair of black boots, a belt and a command cap. While free of medals and battle ribbons, it features various rank insignia including a metal plaque, several code cylinders, and officer's disks. When he does don this attire, usually for formal military events, Mavros will forgo the use of the command cap.[7]
Possessions
A creature of luxury and excess, Aleister Mavros lives a very opulent and lavish lifestyle. His quarters on Aliso are an ever rotating collection of personal mementos, trophies, and other collectibles. This includes the collection of holocrons, scrolls and tomes he has acquired during his times in the Shadow Academy. As well as a locker filled with the tools and equipment, and a collection of access cards granting him access to various Brotherhood facilities.
Ship
Among his most valuable possessions is Mavros's personal ship the Nomad, a heavily modified GX1 Diplomatic Short Hauler. The GX1 Diplomatic Short Hauler is a 37-meter long Shuttle designed as a diplomatic vessel for extended missions and tours of constituencies. Hyperdrive capable, this vessel has poor maneuverability and average speed, with light armor. It is also known as the "Lantillian Short Hauler", and can be piloted from a secondary pod that detaches from the primary hull equipped with its own compact hyperdrive allowing passengers to escape dangerous situations if necessary.[8]
The Nomad is armed with a GX1's standard dual laser turret and an aftermarket ion cannon turret. It has had all of its systems and hardware updated current standards, making it almost on-par to more recently constructed vessels, and its interior converted to provide the epitome of luxury and comfort, befitting Mavros's preferences. The ship has also been outfitted with an experimental communications array, allowing encrypted communication that can only be intercepted by the intended target. And an external hard dock allowing light freighters and smaller crafts to dock and travel attached to the ship.[8]
The Nomad is not a subtle ship, with its outer components being painted with a gloss black base layer gold accents and carmine stripes, matched with grey components and striking orange canopies, ensure that this ship is impossible to miss. And its silhouette is easily recognizable with its under-mounted secondary pod and tall side fins that stand straight up while on the surface.[8]
BARC Speeder
Equally valuable is Mavros's Biker Advanced Recon Commando (BARC) Speeder. A Speeder Bike designed as a scouting and escort vehicle for operating in a wide range of environments and missions. Mavros uses it as his primary ground transport and exploration vehicle. In fitting with his preference for the finer things in life, Mavros's BARC Speeder has been fitted with all of the trimmings of luxury. From a climate control system, to imported Bantha-hide seats, no expense was spared in ensuring that this vehicle not only looks good, but feels good too.[9]
And while he is a skilled rider, Mavros is often preoccupied while riding. As such his BARC Speeder has been fitted with an advanced droid brain, that enables Mavros to focus on non-driving tasks while this BARC Speeder takes over the tasks of moving at one speed, at a predetermined trajectory, stopping only to avoid collisions with detected objects. This is to free his hands to do other tasks or even fight.[9]
Aleister Mavros has had his BARC Speeder painted with a custom design. A base layer of high gloss black and grey, overlaid with metallic carmine and gold. A matte black application of aurebesh lettering and a carmine and gold Opress emblem complete the design.[9]
Pendant of the Sith Lords
Now while not nearly as expensive as his ship or speeder, one of Mavros's most precious possessions is his Pendant of the Sith Lords. The pendant is an ornate medallion depicting the emblem of the Sith at its center. The outer ring of the circular medallion holds a trim design of interweaving lines, while the pendant itself hangs upon a silver chain.
This pendant is precious to him as it was a gift from his late predecessor Wrathus, and acted as the key that released him from the stasis field that held him captive under the surface of Dromund Kaas. He wears it at all times, not only to show his devotion to the Sith, but to remind himself that as long as he has the Force, nothing can hold him forever. As the Sith Code says; Through victory my chains are broken. The Force shall free me.
