| Left in the care of his equally wealthy and bitterly cold mother, Derc (Thran) developed a great deal of insecurities early in his life. Cruelly detached from her first son, she left the continued impression that he was a pox about the House of Kast. Thran was raised by the servants and maidens of the Kast estate. His guardians, Aphelia and Sarisa tended to his every need. As he aged, he grew increasingly detached from those around him as he sought only to impress his mother. Cruel tests and trials were a staple of his life, meant to test his connection to the Force. During one such test, at age 8, Thran committed his first murder. After being abducted by a homicidal child predator, the young boy somehow broke free. However, Thran did not escape without killing and mutilating his captor during the night. The relationship troubles, lack of nurture, and other traumatic experiences left Thran a mute by choice until he was nearly 15 years old. Around this same time Derc Kast decided to change his name to something more fitting, ergo the creation of the name Thran Occasus.

Her age is unknown, due in part to her earthshakingly good looks. Unlike her husband, she was not born into wealth, but quickly adapted to the prospect. She was inhumanly cold and the Dark Side seemed to surround her. Though she was bitter, people seemed to bend around her will. She kept a loyal cohort of anywhere between ten and twenty young and attractive women at her side at all times. Known as the “Handmaidens”, the young women tended to her every need, including raising her firstborn son. Generally regarded as a misandrous person, she disliked men and clearly favored her female companions and daughters to her sons. Her charisma attracted many men from all walks of life, in spite of her apparent hatred of them. Shortly after the death of her husband, suitors were a common sight at the Kast family Estate. After many years of investigation, Thran determined that his mother may have had some connection to the [[Sith]] and most certainly sparked his interest in the occult. |

| | Shir’ciri, known to her family as “Gem”, was the favorite child in the Kast family. As the first born girl, Aylanna took special interest in her. She maintained the general disdain that Aylanna held in regards to the boy and was not afraid of being hard on him. Aylanna considered herself a surrogate mother to the boy, but quickly threw that thought out as he grew more and more handsome with age. By the time he was 16, Aphelia had requested that she be allowed to marry the boy when he was of the proper age. This threat surely contributed to his departure from Bakura. |

Thran Occasus is a member of Clan Scholae Palatinae and a firey member of the Sith Order. Currently holding the position of Quaestor in House Dorimad Sol, his passion for leadership is surpassed only by his passion for drinking and women. Vain by nature, he is “plagued” by good looks. Above his natural beauty, his connection to the Force is extraordinarily strong.

Born as Derc Kast in 1 ABY Thran Occasus lead the life of wealth throughout most of his youth. Unlike most settlers of the Outer Rim Worlds, Thran was born into astonishing wealth. Lady luck had seemed to follow Thran just like the other women.
Comfortably Numb
- " 150 kilos of the finest spice in all the land…Looks like someone is partying tonight…"
- ― Drug dealer on delivering a parcel to Thran
For four years, Thran lived an unbridled life as a playboy and socialite, earning him many friends and enemies along the way. He was known for womanizing and drug abuse during this part of his life. He partied every night and every day. Some claimed him to be reckless, but in all honesty Thran had nothing better to do. By this stage in his life, Thran had no emotional connections with anyone. Women would stay with him, but be gone in the morning. That was exactly how he liked it; No commitment. At the age of 21, Thran began a secret exploration of the Dark Side after an affair with a woman who claimed to know where the Sith were hiding. This search inevitably led him to the Dark Jedi Brotherhood. Thran had developed into a perfect candidate for joining the legions of the Sith. He could disappear and reappear whenever he saw fit, so no one suspected a thing.
Dreams of a Dark Lord | The Dark Jedi Brotherhood
- " You have…potential…"
- ― Braecen Kaeth
Echoes
Thran joined the Dark Jedi Brotherhood under Clan Exar Kun, where he immediately established himself as one of the most promising students the Clan had ever seen. Taking note of this, Grandmaster Chi-Long expressed interest in taking the young Thran under his tutelage. Shortly there after the Clan Exar Kun merged with Clan Satal Keto to form Clan Plagueis and Thran quickly adapted to the change in spite of losing his master. His instruction was passed along to a strong Sith by the name of Lusankya, who helped Thran reach the rank of Jedi Hunter. After a brief recess, Thran was passed over to Godo Nurok for the final stage of his instruction.
After reaching Dark Jedi Knight, Thran Occasus joined forces with long-time friend Braecen Kaeth to lead House Exar Kun. Their work was greatly successful and lead to the benefit of the entire clan. However, an argument between the Proconsul Salth Khan and then Consul Sarin forced Thran to resign. Without the strong allegiance to his Aedile, Braecen also fled the Clan. Occasus was detained during the Rites of Supremacy, forcing him to remain in the volatile Clan.
In the Flesh
Upon his departure, Thran sought to follow his old friend, who had already worked his way up to Quaestor in Clan Scholae Palatinae. The old allegiance would be beneficial for both parties, but more so for Thran. After several stints as Battle Team Leader, Braecen, who had recently been appointed Consul, enlisted Thran’s help to unify the leadership of the Clan. Two prominent leaders, Impetus and Rasilvenaira, would fall victim to the good looks and charisma of the Sith Warrior. In the early days, Thran joined House Caliburnus, where he became physically involved with Impetus Palpatine. The pair shared a similar “hit it and quit it” mentality, making the relationship beneficial on both ends. After growing bored of the ease of getting Impetus into bed, Thran focused his attention on a difficult catch; Rasilvenaira Kaeth StormRaven. Through his gratuitous use of his body, the Clan stabilized and began to press forward, thanks to the diligent “efforts” of the Sith.
Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun
Thran bounced between relationships until he was conscripted to House Acclivis Draco. Braecen requested that his friend invest “special interest” in Rasilvenaira Kaeth StormRaven who held the position of Aedile. Something about the older woman stuck out to him, so he began to pursue her romantically. Although she expressed no interest in the beginning, Thran’s tenacity eventually roped her in. Thran advised her as troubles with the HAD summit shook the house. Though he was in no place to do so, she seemed to trust him. After the longest relationship of Thran’s life, the pair fell in love and continued to see each other throughout Thran’s usurping of the command of House Caliburnus. Eventually Rasilvenaira followed her man to House Caliburnus. They worked well together and after some deal of time established the House as the dominate house in the Clan.
Two Suns in the Sunset
- " I wanna be called Jasmin…cause daddy loves jasmine flowers."
- ― Occasus’ daughter naming herself
After his tenure as Quaestor of Caliburnus, Occasus discovered that he had a daughter. He immediately brought her to live with him and begin her studies of the Force. Originally, he kept her as a servant in his hidden jungle mansion on Ptolomea, unsure of how to tell her the secret. A precocious 9, the girl quickly figured it out. Eventually, she came to live with Rasilvenaira as Thran is utterly inept at raising children.
