| These NPC Character Sheet Guidelines outline how NPC Character Sheets are managed in the Dark Brotherhood. This includes conditions by which members will be granted NPC Character Sheets as well as when and in what manner they should be utilized. These guidelines are maintained by the Voice of the Brotherhood and their staff.

|
| |
|
| Beyond creating a Character Sheet, members of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood are able to purchase additional non-player character slots (NPCs). These NPCs mirror and follow the same guidelines and procedures as the Character Sheets with a few small differences that are detailed in this guideline. Additionally, the first additional non-player character slot (NPC) is available free upon attainment of the rank of JM4. All other non-player character slots (NPCs) incur specific costs that increase per each additional slot. | | Beyond a member’s “main” character as displayed on their dossier, they are able to purchase and unlock additional alternative character slots as they advance within the club. These Alts mirror and follow the same Character_Sheet_Approval_Guidelines policies as the main character sheet. Members are given a free Alt Slot upon reaching the rank of JM4. |

This article outlines how “Non-Player Characters” (NPC) and “Alternative Characters” (Alt) and their respective Character Sheets (CS) are managed in The Brotherhood. This includes the conditions for members getting Alt CSs and how they should be utilized.
Please note:
- Members are still free to create and develop any characters they wish as additional non-player characters through user-created wiki articles and stubs.
- Members are strongly encouraged to utilize the wiki and personal notes for characters that are not currently slotted with an active character sheet.
Alternative Character Slot Guide
In our club’s fiction system, when a member joins their dossier is tied to their Main Character. This main character includes the name on the member’s dossier, the displayed robes, weapons, warbanner, and titles. Every member is allowed to create a Character Sheet for their main character. This sheet is managed in the Character Sheet Administration section of your admin menu. Loadouts for the main character are managed through the Possessions, Loadouts, and Character Snapshots section of the admin menu.
Members can spend their hard-earned credits on various things including weapons, armor, and even ships. Depending on rank, members also can purchase additional Character Slots in addition to the initial free slot that can be used to create inventories and Character Sheets for Alternative Characters. All Alternative Characters are managed through a separate menu, Additional Character Slots and NPCs. They are not tied to the specifics of a member’s main dossier page and can have their own order, rank, and equipment.
Please Note:
- Alternative Characters may be used as the primary character in Fiction activities. There are instances that an Alternative Character' is to be used instead of a Main Character. should be specified. When you plan on using your Alternative Character in any manually staff created ACC Battle, for example in an ACC Tournament or Bracket, please closely observe and follow the rules of said competition, as the ACC staff needs to explicitly tell the site to use your alternative character prior to starting each battle.
- In addition, for all intents and purposes, any positions held by a dossier are considered to be held by the Main Character and never by an Alternative Character of that dossier.
- Society rankings or rewards, such as Feats or Items, may also carry over to a Alternative Character.
Additional Character Slot Access
Members of the Brotherhood gain access to their first additional character slot, for free, upon reaching the rank of JM4. The character slot will unlock at 3 ranks lower than the member. This means it will unlock at JM1 and gain 1 rank along with the member upon promotion. However, the maximum rank on this new slot is JM4, so the character slot will stop going up in rank once it reaches JM4.
Members of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood are able to purchase their second additional character slot upon reaching the rank of Equite I for a fixed cost of 20,000 credits. This NPC is set and mirrors the member's rank.
Members are able to purchase their third additional character slot upon reaching the rank of Equite III for a fixed cost of 40,000 credits. This NPC is set to two ranks below the member’s rank.
Members are able to purchase their fourth additional character slot at the rank of Elder I for the fixed cost of 60,000 credits. This NPC is set four ranks below the member’s rank.
- Purchase - Allows a member to purchase the slot.
- Manage - Provides a drop-down menu with three or four options depending on the slot:
- Character Sheet - Opens the Character Creation Tool to build your Alt’sCS.
- Loadouts - Allows you to delegate the Possessions Inventory to the Alt.
- Character Details - Where a member can select name, gender, path, and order.
- Toggle to (Alt/NPC) - toggles the slot between Alternative Character and NPC designation. In general, you should keep these set to Alternative Characters
Character Sheet Approval
All Alt/NPC Sheets are submitted to the Voice Staff for review and approval. Please see the Character Sheet Approval Guidelines for more information on this process.
Naming
While it is true that names hold great power, they also come with a level of responsibility. All Alt/NPC Character Sheets are approved by the Voice of the Brotherhood and mirror the guidelines and policy set forth by the Master at Arms. You can view the policy on names here.
In summary:
- When creating names for your NPC, please avoid titles such as "Lord", "Grand Admiral", or an existing honorific like "Darth" that is reserved as a reward for the Brotherhood's most decorated members.
- NPC names must be a first and/or last name. This means that they cannot only be a nickname or callsign.
Bad Example |
Good Example
|
Name: Javay Li of the Guardians of Westholt |
Name: Javay Li Custom Aspect Title: Guardian of Westholt

- To add nicknames, callsigns, or codenames, you can use quotation marks in between the first and last name.
- Example: Anakin "Sand Hater" Skywalker

Character Sheets are created for NPCs that are not considered part of the Brotherhood Canon for training and educating members on using these Character Sheets. This includes training in the Antei Combat Center as well as the Shadow Academy for their respective duties. These NPC Character Sheets will be owned by either the Voice of the Brotherhood or Headmaster and their staff.

Clan Feud / Sanctioned Competition
Character Sheets are created for NPCs that are active in the plot of either a Clan Feud or Sanctioned Competition Vendetta, where they show up in competition prompts and interact with members in works of fiction. These NPC Character Sheets will be owned by the members on the summits of the Clans for the duration of the events. These NPC Character Sheets will need to be reviewed after the event to become either part of a Clan Storyline (see below) or transferred in ownership to the Voice of the Brotherhood staff to become part of larger future Vendetta activities such as a Rite of Supremacy or Great Jedi War (see above).

Character Sheets are created for NPCs for Clan usage for two different reasons: Clan Events and Clan Storyline. All NPC Character Sheets intended for use by a Clan must go through an approval process, as described below, before being granted.
Clan Event
Character Sheets are created for NPCs that are active in the plot of a Clan Event, where they show up in the competition prompts and interact with members in works of fiction where an entire Clan is involved, but only a single Clan.
