This Unit Possessions page outlines how units go about managing their items in the possessions system, much of which is the same as member possessions management so that knowledge is assumed, with the added emphasis on slotting and overall vision for the unit order of battle structure. The unit possessions system is structured in a way to allow Clans or any unit that can possess items the ability to customize and put together a set of forces that aligns with their fictional identity, as well as a means of officially presenting their items in a permanent document of record for interaction between units in fiction, vendetta, or otherwise. The selection of items and structure of unit possessions is managed by the Regent and is carefully balanced to maintain a Star Wars feel that is current while attempting to enhance member experience across the entire Brotherhood as part of an important storytelling element.
This page will touch briefly on unit specific management, before looking at ground forces, and fleet forces, and the vision that went into the shaping of each.
Possessions
The default tab on the possessions management screen, this will list all items that a member owns, as well as a means to manage or rename each specific item and tailor it to their character if they wish.
Ground Forces
The ground forces of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood units are established in possessions at the smallest size of a platoon for armor and company for troops and grouped into larger and larger organized structures as large as a Legion whose capabilities and strength are determined by the decisions of what units make it up. This is done through slotting of items inside items to establish the structure. This allows each unit an opportunity to put together customized ground force elements, without the need to micromanage their support structures.
Fleet Forces
The fleet forces of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood units are established in possessions by individual capital ships or stations, in flights of smaller ships like shuttles or assault ships, or in squadrons of starfighters, all with necessary forces to maintain and operate them. These are not grouped by any means in the possessions system itself, but can be aligned in a more detailed order of battle on the wiki. This is done by linkages between the wiki and the unit's possessions themselves. This allows each unit to put together a customized fleet without the need to micromanage each individual ship.
Application
Setup to be as customizable as possible, while still avoiding too much micromanagement in how and where elements are assigned, the unit possessions system's primary goal is to enable a Star Wars experience for members that is modern while enabling great storytelling by the units themselves with no concern or risk due to their persistence in the system. This allows members to interact with Clan possessions through battle plans, fiction or other competitions that fuel activity and enjoyment. With an appropriate level of options and customization, the Regent can maintain a quality member experience in interacting with items owned by the various units.
